I was just your ordinary 25 year old woman. Nothing exciting. I prefered it that way. But Fate and Life has a way of flipping all that around and throwing it back in your face.
I was chased by giant Robots and caught in the middle of a titan fight. I fainted in the middle of all the mass destruction and later woke up in some desserted hanger halfway across the globe.
Surrounded by the same Giant Robots, I later learned were an Alien Robotic race known as Cybertonians from a planet only god knows where, and I was to stay at their base til they could determine if it was safe for me to return home. Thats where I'm at now. They are actually very kind and I have developed a kindred liking to them. There was humans Kids that came to see them as well. They Explained alot to me as well, this had me deciding that if they would let me, I would stay here at the base.
The youngest of the kids, Raf, I learned was a computer whiz and was kind enough to get me a computer I could mess with. Miko got me a digital Apple pod player and probuds. So currently Im jamming and assisting Jack Darby with his essays.
Heavy footsteps stepped around my raised platform and since it happens all the time,I barely batted an eye. However when I catch the mech standing in front of me I find myself staring. Its always the same. Why does he pull my attention. He was the biggest other than their leader Optimus Prime. Almost the same color scheme too. His name was Ultra Magnus. He was always firm and to the point with everything, always demanded respect, and was never disrespectful unless it was deserved. This mech has a secret playful side that I think no one knows about. He has descretly hacked my music device to tap into what I listen to and at first I was suprised, But it was almost endearing as I watch him. Its not like he was hurting anything I was doing. I think he was secretly curious, And had a taste for music.
Currently I was listening to instrumental tunes of songs that I enjoy. I snicker to myself at the song. I can imagine his face. His back is to me so I can't actually see his expression.
He shifts and heads to his montiors where he spends most of his free time. I was now at the liberty to glance at his face. He had firm features that screamed strength, as if his incredibly large stature didn't do that already.
Suddenly my music pauses and then changes on its own.
'Really Magnus?' I think as the song of his choice plays. It's not that he has bad taste in my music but I didn't really want it to go back to the very first song. I narrowed my gaze and tapped my device. 'Two can play that game buddy' I think and tap a different library.
"You Don't Own Me...I'm Not just One of Your Many Toys..."
I watch him carefully. His bright blue optics went wide and I smirked. They drifted to me and I smiled back at him, Then went back to my task. It wasn't long before the song paused and changed on its own again. What started playing shocked me. I looked back to him to find him smirking ever so slightly back at me.
'Shut up and Drive?...Really?' I think as I raised a brow at him. His attention shifted from me to his own task.
'This dudes challenging me...ok then lets make him squirm.' I think as I don't even bother pausing the device and let it play as I searched my library.
I found one that I don't normally listen too, but it should pull forth the reaction I'm looking for.
"CLICK"
"Lets have some fun, This beat is Sick, I wanna take a ride on your Disco Stick."
'Try that pal, Theres a little bit of Lady Gaga for ya.' I think as I watched him go rigid and gawk at me from the first words. I giggled outloud and went back to my research. It wasn't long before I realized that he was actually listening to the song. I chanced glances at him and found him smirking back at me, there was a strange light to his eyes which made me feel weird as the words of the song continued. ' Why does the way he is looking at me, make me feel hot inside?' I think as I felt a hard lump rise up in my throat. For some reason I couldn't pull my gaze from his and heat started to rise to my face. A noise came from somewhere and I snapped I glanced away, blinking a few times before looking back at my computer.
Now I was having a hard time keeping my focus. I decided to remove myself. I fake stretched and shut my computer down. I headed down the stairs and straight to my room. I could feel his gaze on me as I went but I couldn't chance looking back. My whole body went tingly as I darted down the hallway and straight to my door.
My heart pounded against my ribs as I shut my door. I pressed myself up against the door. I was confused by what I was feeling, I have never felt like that before. It was strange and giddy. I was hot allover and if I was completely honest with myself, it felt like a panic attack.
"What the hell was that?" I said to myself.
My device suddenly came to life. I realized that it was still on and I still had the probuds in.
A song starts playing and I choke alittle. He chose "Sorry" by Justin Bieber. I felt myself calm into warmth at the words that wash over me.
I grumbled to myself for retreating like a coward. 'Now he must think I'm an emotional coward.' I think as I let my head rest against the door. I sighed and paused the music and shut the app down. I threw myself across my bed and just laid there.
I was almost asleep when something pinged next to me. I looked to my Ipod and with glazey eyes, noticed that there was a message. 'I can get messages?' I thought as I clicked on it.
"Are you ok? Did I frighten you? I was... as you humans say...Playing. I find myself enjoying your presence and your music. I...Am...Sorry. -Magnus"
You were awake now and as you looked at the clock you realized that it was 7:00 in the afternoon. You looked back to the message and smiled. Underneath all that metal was a softy. You decided to answer him.
" I was tired so I decided to take a nap. And... No need to apologize.- Casey"
You lied of course because the last thing you wanted to do to the big guy was give him a guilt trip. Your stomach chose that moment to grumble up from the pits from which it slept, alerting you that you were hungry. Sighing you decided to make your way back across the main hanger to the Kitchen that was located on the other side. 'I was being foolish for letting something so trivial, bother me.' you think as you walked.
You couldn't help but make eye contact with him as you passed. That strange light was gone and he only watched you as my continued. You offered up a smile and waved as you passed. To your suprise he lifted a pinky finger in the form of waving back as he drew his focus back to his montior. It was so discret that no one would ever notice it. You sighed and continued on.
Two days later and you found yourself sitting at your computer. None of the children were present, nor were their guardians. This left the base oddly quiet. Even Ratchet was off doing heaven knows what and It was only Optimus and Magnus that were the source of noise in the otherwise silent base. You sighed softly and reached for your probuds and Ipod. You quickly remembered Mangus's behaviour last time. You glance up to him. His focus was on the monitor so you clicked it on and selected your song. It was a very beautiful instrumental piece.
You was so wrapped into your little world with the music and art program that you failed to notice the ipod light up. The song suddenly paused, causing you to look down at it. There was a message there. You looked up to Magnus and found him glancing to you.
You curiously glanced back to the ipod and opened the message.
"I feel like going out, Maybe drive around a bit...Would you perhaps like to come with me?"
'I don't know what to say.' You realized and pondered it without looking back at him.
As if Optimus could see the delima he suddenly turns to Magnus. I think secretly he knows Magnus had this weird connection with me.
"Ultra Magnus...Perhaps it would be best if you left the base from time to time...Everything has been calm lately and Maybe this would be the best opportunity to learn more about the humans. Casey...Perhaps you could go with him?"
I smiled and nodded at Optimus and then looked back to Magnus. He hesitated at first...But you knew it was for show cause of his message earlier. He agreed and selected a place far from here, then opened the ground bridge. I was already making my way down to him from my raised platform, as he changed into his truck form.
He opened his driver door for me and I climbed up into the seat. Then we headed off to his chosen coordinates.
Driving through the ground bridge was always cool. When the two of you passed through, A beautiful wilderness surrounded you as Magnus navigated the road.
"To be perfectly Honest with you...This was Optimus's idea. He bombarded me with this earlier this morning. I was trying to more or less to warn you it was coming." He spoke through the radio. You looked down at the steering wheel and watched it turn back and forth as he drove. It always felt so weird sitting in what was suppose to be the driver seat when they could drive themselves. 'Can he feel me sitting here?' you think as you picked up his words.'so he didn't just want to leave on his own, OP was making him do it...Why does that make me sad...like he was being forced to take me along or something.' You continued in thought without answering him. You once again looked to the scenery around you.
"Casey...is something wrong?" his voice came again, it was laced with concern and you looked up to the radio. You smiled sadly and looked back out the window.
"Nah, I just got alot on my mind and Trying to categorize it along with some other things." You claimed. He gave a hum in agreement. Oddly enough this felt good. And you did like being around this big oaf of a mech. There was just something about him that fascinated you.
The two of you came upon a small city on the outskirts of a snowy mountain. he slowed to a stop and pulled off to the side.
"Its beautiful." You hear him say, you smiled and agreed. "Yeah thats definatly postcard worthy."
"Postcard?." His interest was suddenly peaked and you laughed. "Yeah, A postcard is something us humans send to each other when were doing something fun or seeing something like this and we want to share it with people whom couldn't be with them. It usually has images like what were seeing as a photograph."You explained and he went silent.
"Ah I see, So for us Cybertonians it would be a similar to a CyberShot. We dont need things to be so materialistic but it is understood why it is here for humans. We can snap a shot and send it to others far away like a message." Magnus said as he sat there for a few minutes. You hear a click and realized that he must have took a picture.
'He can be so cute' you think with a smile. You have already realized your small feelings towards him and decided that it wouldn't hurt to admire him.
The two of you decided to continue on down the road. After a few minutes the screen of his radio came on and a playlist showed up. You gasped as you recognized it from you Ipod.
"Fly Away?...You like that one?" came his voice and you couldn't help but smile. "Sure" you replied and the music started to play.
It felt so free to be with him like this. It was almost as if the music was the bridge between you both and he radiated a peaceful air about him as he drove down the road. Between songs you would chat alittle before he would pick another one.
finally after what seemed like a few hours you both decided to call for a ground bridge back.
"Casey, Im not as open with everyone else as I appear to be with you, so please...don't expect me to be so open around them." He claimed. There was a sense of nervousness to his voice that had you feeling bad for the bug guy, but you understood. He didn't want to be teased by them and so you agreed.
It was a week later and everything seemed to just fall right into a routine with Magnus and you taking trips somewhere across the globe. You found that you loved it and he appeared to love it when you came along. the two of you laughed about silly things that happened and you found that he loved all the wildlife here. He opted for more secluded areas that were far from humans, Just so he could watch the animals bound about. He would even revert to his main form and sit there, Sometimes with you on his shoulder. At one moment he had sat you down so you could go look at something, He stayed where he was and watched. You wandered around for a moment and then quietly returned to find that a Doe and her fawn had approached him. You froze and slid your hand into your pocket to grab your ipod. It of course had a camera. Through the screen you aimed it at both Magnus and the Deer. He gently held out a finger down to the doe so she could sniff it. You silently snapped the picture, and continued to watch. She was not afraid of him in the least. Magnus smiled so warmly that you thought your heart would melt. The Fawn chose that moment to bound around his finger and its mother. This gained the attention of Magnus and pulled his hand away to watch it.
'My goodness, This level of sweetness is toothrotting. Who couldn't help but love this big guy?' You think as you continued to watch the interaction as he lowered his finger down to the fawn. It didn't sniff, it straight up snuggled its head against the pad of his mechanical finger.
You suddenly remebered the device in your hand as you snapped another shot of him and the fawn. It was precious and you wanted to keep it always.
Something orange caught your attention and as you looked to it, you realized that a fox had now grew curious to Magnus. He hadn't noticed it yet and you smirked. The fox ran around his knee, scaring the deer off and cuased Magnus to chuckle.
"Well now... what do we have here?" He spoke softly as laid his hand down, palm up. At first the fox was skittish which was its nature. But soon it gained confidence and before you knew it, it was in his hand. You were dumbfounded.
'OH MY GOD, THIS IS CRAZY!' You scream in your head as you snapped another picture. You decided to stop and slowly make your way back to him. This of course scared the fox off. You gave him an apologetic look and he smiled back at you.
"Its ok, It's time to go back now anyways." He claimed as he went to com back to base.
"Ultra Magnus to Base...Is anyone there?...Hello?" He gave a confused hum as he looked about. You watch him as he pressed a finger to his audio receptor.
"Ratchet?...Optimus...Anyone?" He commed again.
"Magnus?...Are you ok?, How's Casey?" Came a distinctful medic's voice. Magnus looked to you then replied. "We're fine...but is everything alright there?"
"Um well, If your calling about a ground bridge then I'm afraid your going to have to wait. It's down at the moment. Something fried the componets underneath. I'll get it up and running as quick as possible. In the mean time Casey is your responsibilty."
"Understood." Magnus answered and frowned slightly. You huffed jokingly and crossed your arms across your chest. "With a scowl like that, Its almost like I'm a hassel."
You was suddenly scooped up and lifted up into the air. You gave a chuckle and patted his hand as he brought you close to his face. There was an odd tinge of sadness about his metal face. You froze and studied his very clean features. 'He's worried.' You think as you smiled softly back at him.
"I was joking Big Guy."
"I realize that Casey, What concerns me is what caused the malfunction, and how long will it take to fix it?" He spoke and you could feel the vibrations from his voice. It sent shivers throughout your frame. You instantly blushed. To cover up your reaction, you continued to poke at him. "What?...Wouldn't want to sleep under the stars with yours truely?"
'! ACK WHY DID I SAY THAT?!' you grumbled in thought at your choice of words. To your suprise, a smile graced his face again. Your blush grew and you gave an uneasy smile back.
An optic panel that served as brow rose slightly. "Do I make you...Nervous?...why?"
He asked solemly and watched you carefully. What were you going to say, No? at this closeness, he'd surely realize your falsness. You looked away and huffed.
"Yes...alittle. I'm still trying to figure out the why's." You state and rubbed at his finger that was around your waist. You realize that in an instant, he could easily crush you, But he was ever gentle as he handled you. "we're going to have to head to the nearest town, to get you substance." he claims and suddenly he was getting to his feet. He was now making his way back to the nearly deserted mountain road. Once there, He transforms and the two of you were on your way.
Some time later, with some food and drinks, you were heading back out away from the population. He was traveling in the opposite direction that you were both in previously. You didn't question him as you ate, but he seemed in a lighter mood now as you traveled.
'What is really going on with me? I'm acting like a school girl with a crush on the varsity guy. At least that's what it feels like to me. I mean come on, This can't even began to happen! He's a 60 Foot, Alien robot! I'm a puny human! Completely 100 % impossible! Cool your jets girlfriend!' You continued to pep talk yourself in thought.
"Casey We'll Stop here. My map indicates a pretty large cave nearby that I think will serve as shelter." Came his voice through the radio, startling you from your thoughts. You Grumble and ok as he heads off the main road up a dirt path.
When he felt like he was far enough away from the public road, he let you out and transformed. You allowed him to pick you up as he continued up the path. He found the cave and soon he was setting you back on your feet. You watched him scan the inside the large cave.
' This is actually happening...I'm spending a night under the stars with Magnus...' You think as you walked up beside his leg and gave a hum. He lowered himself to the ground just out of sight of the cave entrance and vented softly. He was worried and he didn't even try to hide it.
You slowly walk up to him and pat his leg. "What's wrong Ultra Magnus?" You asked in a concerned tone. YOu clearly cared for him and that wasn't a secret.
"I'm Going to have to go into Stasis to keep from being detected should there be any decepticons nearby...I'm going to need you to promise me that you'll stay here...Can I Trust you to do that?" He claimed. You of course nod. He didn't look convinced.
"Sir, if I may, can you go into stasis while in vehicle mode?" You asked giving his respected title. He smiled slightly and nodded.
"Then would you feel better if while in stasis, that I remain inside your cab, unless nature calls?" You state that last part with a blush.
"Indeed." He answered and changed immediately. Heatedly you climbed up into his cab again.
'And so it begans.' you think as relaxed across his long seat. You sighed and decided to plug your earbuds in and listen to music.
