Absolutely Not
Over the past few days, the mountains had a few rock slides, and the rivers overflowed. Abol has been rescuing Pokemon left and right as natural disasters happen. Many campers and locals have come to fear Abol and have set up traps to deal with it. One night, after Absol sensed a sinkhole in the ground and helped with the removal process, Ulrich woke up. He was sweating, and he opened the window. "This is the third night in a row where I woke up. After seeing Abol in the courtyard, I feel like it is calling me." Ulrich sits on his bed and meditates. He listens to the sounds in his room: the digital clock beeping, Odd's snoring, Kiwi's snoring, the wind blowing, Kiwi's toots, the birds flying, and Abol's breathing. "Absol?!" Ulrich exclaims. He puts in his jacket and slippers and rushes outside. He comes face to face with Abol. When he approaches it, Abol growls at him. "I won't hurt you," Ulrich said. Absol continues to growl at Ulrich until Gardevior comes out of her Poke Ball. She stares down at Absol. Absol uses Shadow Ball at Gardevior. "Gardevior, dodge it," Ulrich commands. Gardevior dodges the Shadow Ball. "Use, Moon Blast." Gardevior absorbs light from the crescent moon and is about to use Moon Blast when Absol uses Double Team to dodge the attack. "Concentrate on Absol," Ulrich says. He concentrates as well as he tries to remember which Absol is real. Gardevior hears Ulrich's thoughts and uses Moonblast on Absol. Absol went flying but quickly recovered. "Such a powerful Pokemon," Ulrich said. Absol uses Quick Attack followed by Night Slash and makes contact with Gardevior. Gardevior is hit, but she recovers as well. "Use Confusion," Ulrich commands. Gardevior does, but Absol uses Knock Out despite the Confusion. Gardevior uses Growl, and Absol does as well. Before long, Jim wakes up and turns on his bedroom light. Ulrich looks up. "Jim is coming." Absol runs away. Gardevior is about to chase it when Ulrich stops her. "Let it go. We have to get back to the dorms. But, it will be back."
In the morning, Ulrich is thinking about his battle with Absol. He draws Absol pictures in his syrup. Meanwhile, Aelita takes about the Squirtle she found in the Hermitage. "She doesn't like me," Aelita said. "How do you know?" Yumi asks. "She won't listen to me, and yesterday, she used Rapid Spin as I was trying to return it to the Poke Ball." "No need to worry. She needs to get used to you," Dawn said. "Plus, it has been years since she has seen sunlight," Ash said. "Right. She needs time to adjust, which is where you come in," Odd said. Aelita sighs. "What do you think, Ulrich?" Ulrich is starting in his pancakes. "Ulrich! Jim and Ms. Hertz were caught in the gym making out," Allison said. "What!" Ulrich exclaims. "Nope. Aelita asked you a question. "Oh." "Oh. What is wrong?" Jeremy asks. "Last night, I ran into an Absol, and we had a battle." Everyone gasps. "Did you win?" Ash asks. "The question is why?" Yumi asks. "For the past few days, I had a feeling that Absol was calling me. There is one living in the mountains by the woods. I think it wants something from me," Ulrich said. "Which is why he keeps leaving the window open," Odd complains. "How was the battle?" Jeremy asks, "I think it was a tie," Ulrich said. "Absol is a Dark-type pokemon. Gardevior's Fairy-Type moves have the advantage," Brock said. "That makes sense. Absol was able to attack while Confused." "Do you want to catch it?" Aelita asks. "I should ask you about Squirtle. Having a battle with her should help you gain some respect," Ulrich said. Aelita smiles. After breakfast, students gather around the dormitory. "Look, a tree fell on it!" Milly shouted. The students look up and see a tree feel on the dorms' roof. "The situation will be fixed by the end of the day," Jim said. Ulrich looks defeated. "Absol comes to warn others of danger. It only came to warn me, and I didn't get it." Ulrich said. Absol follows Ulrich to class. During each class, Ulrich sees Absol and gets scolded by his teachers. "Mr. Stern, pay attention. You need to the most," Mrs. Meyers said. "Yes, mam. Sorry, mam," Ulrich said. In Gym class, as Ulrich was running on the track, Absol joined, and for a while, it was the two of them. Ulrich felt as though he could hear Absol's thoughts as he could with Gardevior. "Ulrich!" Allison calls him. Ulrich snaps out of it. "Whoa." "You were like a cheetah." "It was weird. I swore I saw Absol as I was running." "Really? It must like you a lot." "Yeah. I should catch it." "Yeah. What?" Allison is flabbergasted.
After school, Ulrich starts to head for the woods. "Where are you going?" Allison asks. "I told you. I am going to catch Absol," Ulrich said. "You said that you were thinking about it." "Thought about it. I am going. You should come too." "What do you mean?" "You used to go on adventures all the time. Don't you want to relive that?" "Brock, talk to Ulrich." Brock comes over. "What is going on?" Brock asks. Ulrich brings Brock up to speed. "I can see why but the mountains? Height?" "I know. But the connections and the feelings, I have to get to Absol." "Okay, let's go." As the trio heads off, they see Aelita trying to battle with Squirtle. "I think we need a break," Aelita said. Squirtle agrees and hides in her shell. "Where is the party?" "Ulrich is going to try and catch Absol," Allison said. "Great. I am coming too. Maybe Squirtle and I can learn a thing or two, right Plusle?" Aelita asks. "Plusle," Plusle answers. Aelita recalls Squirtle, and the group heads off. As the group gets to the mountains, they see where fields have been fixed. "I read that Absol can protect fields where natural disasters occur," Aelita said. "Are you sure you want to catch it? I mean, it had a job," Allison said. "I mean, I'll let you know when I see it," Ulrich said. At the same time, Brock answers a call from Yumi. "Hello." "Hey, where are you guys? We were going to the rec room?" Yumi asks. "Right. Ulrich wants to catch the Absol." "Right. What?" Yumi exclaims. "What?" Odd asks. "Ulrich is on his way to catch the Absol he talked about." "And he didn't invite us," Jeremy said. "Well, good luck," Ash said. "Good luck? Do you know the difficulty it is to catch an Absol?" Yumi asks. "Coming from me, who loves a challenge, Ulrich will be fine. He has backup." Yumi gulps. "No need to worry; Ulrich will be fine," Dawn said. When the group reaches the top of the mountain, they see Absol. Next to Absol are three other Absol and a Mega Absol. "I think Mega Absol is the leader," Brock said. Mega Absol roars, and the other Absol does as well. "What is happening?" Ulrich asks. Gardevior comes out of her Poke Ball. "The battle to see if you are worthy of being Absol's trainer," Allison said. "I am ready to prove it," Ulrich said. Before the battle, some locals throw bombs at the Absol. "Hey," Aelita shouts. "Not so fast. These Absols bring disaster, and we need to deal with the threat!" Maxie said. "No. Absol only warns others of the disaster," Ulrich said. "Well, we will take all of them," Luca said. "Let's move!" Shawn said. "No. Our friend was going to catch one fair and square," Aelita said. "Well, what are you going to do?" Maxie asks. "We will have a raid!" Allison said. "A raid?" Aelita asks. "Sweet. We can take you all out!" Shawn said. "What is a raid?" Urich asks. "When multiple trainers battle the same Pokemon to catch it," Brock said. "What?" Aelita asks. "But, we will ensure that Ulrich ends up with Absol, and those losers get blasted away," Allison said. "Okay, leave it to the rookies," Aelita said. Aelita calls out Squirtle. "You can watch." "Squirtle," Allison calls out her Raichu and Galarian Rapidash, and Brock calls out his Bissey. The Campers call out their Empoleon, which only Maxie owns.
"Gardevior, use Dazzling Gleam," Ulrich said. Dazzling Gleam hits Absol. "Use, Water Gun," Maxie commands. Water Gun shoots all three Absol. Mega Absol uses Sucker Punch on Empoleon. "Use, Steel Wing," Maxie shouts. Steel Wing hits one of the Absol and Plusle. "Plusle, use Thunder," Aelita commands. Thunder stuns Absol and Empoleon. "Use, Hydro Pump," Maxie commands. Hydro Pump is heading towards G. Rapidash. "Use Psycho Cut," Allison said. G. Rapidash attacks Empoleon. "Play by the rules," Allison said. "No," Maxie said. Mega Absol has had enough, so it uses Night Slash towards Raichu. "Raichu, use Electro Ball." The move pushes Mega Absol back. "Use, Pound," Brock said. Blissey uses Pound on one Absol. "We have Mega Absol, Ulrich's future Absol, and Empoleon left," Aelta said. Mega Absol looks at Empoleon. "Use, Wave Crash!" Maxie commands. Mega Absol stares at Empoleon and uses Leer, which stops the attack in its tracks. Then, Mega Absol uses Sucker Punch and sends Empoleon flying. "Empoleon," Maxie calls out as she, Luca, and Shawn chase after it. Mega Absol jumps onto a rock and observes the battle between Ulrich and Absol. "Use, Draining Kiss," Ulrich said. Draining Kiss hits Absol. Absol uses Night Slash, but it is not as effective. The battle went on for a while. "Use Fairy Wind," Ulrich commands. Absol uses Double Team. Ulrich smiles. "Use Psychic to control the Fairy Wind and knock each one down." Gardevior did and knocked out Absol. Ulrich throws the Poke Ball at Absol. Twitch, twitch, twitch, boom. Ulrich picks up the Poke Ball. "I catch an Absol!" Everyone cheers. Ulrich lets it out so Absol can say goodbye to his friends. Mega Absol uses his paw to shake Ulrich's hand. "What was that for?" Ulrich asks. "You have earned their respect," Brock said. G. Rapidash uses Chamr to determine that Absol is a male.
At Kadic, Absol meets the rest of the group and embraces his new friends. "That sounds amazing," Ash said. "What did Squirtle do?" Odd asks. "She used Bubble a few times, but she was taken back by the battle, and she didn't squirt me with water," Aelita said. "Great," Jeremy said. "Now, Ulrich has a new friend and member on his team," Dawn said. "Thanks. I think we will be a good fit," Ulrich said. "You both will be," Allison said. At the same time, Hiroki and Johnny plan to go to the woods to see some snake Pokemon. "We will need to have more battles," Yumi said. "We should battle," Ash said to Ulrich. "Of course," Brock said. "Like the good old days," Dawn said.
What a day! Ulrich catches an Absol and forms a new Pokemon bond. Meanwhile, Maxie, Luca, and Shawn enter a room. "We lost. A group of students stop us," Maxie said. A woman turns around with a backward R on her shirt. "You know, as the rejects of Team Rocket, we have to do better. We are the Team Redemption," the woman said. Uh-oh!
