Chapter 11
"Wot is the Darkness?!", Hermod asked. Then Hrodi gave Sparky and I a wand too.
"All along it was Wot?", Sparky asked.
"He infiltrated us! ~gasps~ Plot twist, it was Wot!", Tom exclaimed. We all were like 'Wot' 'What' and just kinda of making light fun of Wot's name.
"He wanted to make a home on our islands.", Tom said.
"I even unalived Wot for comin' into my house uninvited.", Karl said.
Then we were teleported to Tom's island.
'We will talk more at a later date. For now, Thornar will return you to your homes. Good luck heroes, the world appears to be in your hands now.', Hrodi telepathically said. Whoa, can all of us talk to one another telepathically? I thought it was only god to mortal and mortal to god. Jeez, I have a lot to learn about this world... especially if I'm to be its Priestess. Also, Hrodi doesn't know how right he is... Tom tried to use his wand.
"You lower life forms are too weak to use magic.", Thornar said.
"Architects, a pleasure to meet you.", Hermod said. Then Hrodi appeared.
"Your task from us is to collect the rest of the stones."
"Wait, where's the main Architect?", Tom asked.
"Hey, Tom. I have a request. You are Team Ianite, right?", Sparky asked.
"No, Dianite.", Tom replied.
"No, he just sold you down the river for Dianite.", Karl said at the same time as Tom answered. I looked at Karl, shocked.
"Wait, whoa. Wait, you, you're just, you're just straight up admitting, like, you're no lon, you're not Team Ianite. You never were?", Sparky asked, surprised. Obviously surprised that Tom's actually admitting he's Team Dianite.
"No, I was, I was, I was 100% Team Ianite. I definitely was, but now I've seen the light again. Erm..."
"You mean the dark.", Sparky interjected.
"The dark? No, I've seen the light and the dark. I've seen the balance thanks to Ianite, but I've seen the dark. Dark is better. Team Dianite for life!"
"Wow...", Sparky said.
"He's a scummy guy man...", Karl said.
"He really is...", Sparky agreed.
"Our master is none of your business.", Thornar said. Wow, the latest reply I have ever seen tonight. These guys are still all over the place... Then Dianite appreared.
"Welcome home."
"We will make a portal in due time for you to come visit us.", Thornar said.
"Architects, do you know much of the Wizard Order?", Hermod inquired.
"When magic came to the world, a group of mortals found its source and studied its properties. Eventually they deemed themselves wizards and made a whole cult about it. ~sees Dianite~ Well well Dianite. I haven't seen you since you were a wee lad." That surprised me. Tom and Sparky were off to Sparky's house. I stuck around on Tom's island.
"Wait, are you immortal?", I asked Hrodi.
"No, just have a much lengthened lifespan. I am 2,000 years old. Dianite here is only 1,000 alongside Mianite and Ianite. You know they're triplets, right? ~I nodded~ Well, I've known them since they were born. Last I saw of them they were 5."
"Whoa... amazing."
"Lucky, you might want to give that wand a go. Your fire powers might go with magic. You could probably conjure up fire with it.", Dianite said. I looked at him disbelievingly.
"Me, use magic?" He nodded, I looked at Thornar and Hrodi. They gave me the gesture of, 'go on, try'. Dianite put out the soulfire campfire for me to use my magic on. Hrodi used his magic to dry out the campfire faster. When that was dry, I raised my wand and instinctively, I knew how to wave it in the way for me to conjure up a soulfire. The campfire lit! With soulfire! I looked at Dianite.
"You didn't tell me this! Was that in the prophecy too?! Am I a wizard?"
"Yes, it was in the prophecy, and well, you're half-born. Your mother was a wizard, while your father was a potions master. He wanted to impress your mother so that she would consider dating a non-wizard. He didn't need to, but he didn't know that. He did impress her though. Those potions he was working on would have changed the world, but alas, the prophecy would not allow it. You however, you carry the bloodline of the wizards and your potions master father.
"If you had a brewing stand and ingredients, I'll bet you anything that you inherited your father's potions genius. However, only being a half-born wizard, you can only use soulfire magic. You can conjure up soulfire and then read the fire that you conjured up. That is the only fire you can read. Normal soulfire will not work. Lucky Fire, like I said, you are special. You are one of the keys to bringing balance back to this world. By using your magic, your psychic abilities, and your Priestesshood, you can most definitely do what you need to do to help this world."
"Why didn't you tell me I am a half-born wizard?"
"I didn't think I needed to. I didn't know you'd acquire a wand. See, I couldn't foresee you gaining a wand. You probably could have if you knew how to use your psychic abilities."
"Hmph. Well, anything more on that prophecy you didn't bother telling me about?"
"Nope. That's it now." He's telling the truth. So my mother was a wizard and my father a potions master, which makes me inherit both of their traits. I can use magic and I can make mad potions with the abilities I gained from my father. You know... I kind of like it. It makes me feel like I'm needed for something. I mean, I am needed for restoring balance, but I actually have abilities that can help me.
At this point, our adventure ended, at least I feel like it did. I went to Ianite's temple. The boys are going on about something that I don't really care about. I sat against one of the pillars, facing the picture of Ianite on the wall. I stared at it deep in thought. After a few minutes,
"Lucky?", Ianite called softly. I looked around the pillar to see her standing just in front of the beacon light with her hands behind her back. I smiled gently and motioned her to come over. She came over and sat next to me.
"I kicked tail today like you told me to.", I said quietly. She smiled softly.
"That's good to hear."
"But neither Sparky or I could get the Air stone... Tom got it... and he was Dianite! We all were right. Even Karl knew. I'm real angry by that, he was a false follower, he played us all!" Ianite gently laid a hand on my forearm and shook her head.
"Don't get so upset Lucky. I'm flattered that you'd be angry about that, about someone being a false follower of mine, but as you said, we all knew it. Even from the beginning." I sighed.
"I guess so... but also, Dianite kept something else from us about the prophecy..." I then went on to explain to her about the magic and the wizardry in my family, that my mother was a wizard and I'm a half-born because my father was a normal human potions master. That surprised her.
"You can use soulfire magic? That's never been done before. Lucky... you're something else. Something special. ~then says very quietly~ Someone special... ~I looked at her questioningly but she shook her head~ It's nothing, don't mind my blabbering. Hey, want to show me your magic?", she asked, standing up.
"Uh, sure... ~stands up as well~ You sure you're ok? Is there something you want to discuss?", I asked.
"No, not really. At least, not right now... but come on, I want to see your magic. It sounds really interesting." She's hiding something from me. I can tell... it doesn't take someone psychic to tell that. The way she's acting, the way she's trying to distract me from questioning her, but I drop it for now and follow her out of the temple to the beach her and I have used to talk about my problems. She set down some campfire logs for me to use my magic on. When she stood back, I waved my wand the way I did at Tom's island and soulfire appeared on the logs. I caught a glimpse of her face and chuckled. Her face was priceless.
"Wow, you really are a wizard.", she said in awe.
"Half-born remember. Also, remember, I can't use any more magic than that. That's literally all I can do."
"That's still cool though. You also said you probably could do potions like no one's business like your father used to do? ~I nodded~ Wow, care to try? Sparklez has many brewing stands and I think he has a few ingredients."
"Sure." We use the water elevator to go to the Nether floor where the brewing stands are. I rifle through the chests and grab some ingredients. Again, instinctively, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I made a Fire Resistance potion. I messed around with some other ingredients to see if I could recreate the potion father made that made me forever withstand fire and lava and be able to see and possibly breathe in lava.
I grabbed 9 redstone and made them into a block. Ianite has been watching my every move, very fascinated by my working. I have my thinking face on now. I heard the guys messing about outside. I smirked and shook my head. I went back over to the brewing stand and put the block of redstone in and it was going! Hmm... how would father have... ooo, I got an idea.
I went downstairs to the materials chest. Ianite followed me. I got out the gold and redstone needed to make a clock. I went over to the crafting table and made the clock, then I got 4 redstone blocks and 4 repeaters and combined them with the clock. It made what's called an Infinite Loop Clock. I grinned triumphantly. I brought it up to the Nether floor and by now the redstone block would have blended together with the potion.
I used the Infinite Loop Clock in the brewing stand. It wouldn't go... maybe because I already used a redstone block, which made the Fire Resist go for 30 minutes. Damn... ~impressed, but also out of disappointment~ I made more Fire Resist pots and put in the Infinite Loop Clock. It started going! I gave Ianite a confident grin. She looked at me very excitedly. When the potions were done, I put my hand under one and it had the infinity sign as its time of application! It won't run out!
I'm actually stunned, I recreated the potion father made when I was little that'll make someone impervious to fire and lava. You just can't see in lava with this potion... yet. This is where I'll stop though. Just infinite lava and fire resist is good enough for me. Ianite lightly pushed my arm many times out of excitement.
"Lucky, you actually did it!"
"I did... I actually did..."
"You're a genius!" I grinned.
"So, what's it like having a genius potions master, half-born wizard, psychic Priestess as a follower?"
"Amazing... ~realizes she just said that and the way she said it~ Um, I mean, I'm really proud to have such a follower. But it's time for bed now. I'll see you some other time Lucky. Good night." As she turned around, I took her hand.
"Ianite please. Something is going on with you. It has to do with me, I can tell. Tell me Ianite, please..." She stayed where she was for a bit, then turned around.
"Ok, I'll tell you... I have a secret hangout that no one knows about. I don't want any eavesdroppers overhearing us." She vanished. Then all of a sudden, I was teleported to her.
