Chapter 13
In the morning, I heard Ianite moving around. I woke up, then sat up on the loveseat.
"Oh, good morning Lucky. Did I wake you?"
"Kind of, but it's ok. I should be waking up now anyway. Ianite, my health still needs to be replenished... oops. Do you have any food?" She shook her head, smiling, then came over and handed me some apples. I ate them and replenished my health. "Thanks, I feel much better."
"Of course. Lucky, did you bring me to my bed last night? ~I nodded and she looked surprised~ You can carry someone?" I chuckled.
"Yes, I can. I'm strong, despite being a traveller and not eating much. I guess I still don't eat much..."
"You need to eat more Lucky. You need the nutrients. You especially need full health before going on missions with the guys. You don't want to unalive in the middle of a mission."
"Right. I'll try and eat as soon as my health goes down and I get a safe minute. Well, should I get to the Tank of Judgement now? Would Dec be there already?"
"He might, yeah. Let me go there and I will teleport you to me." I nodded, then she disappeared, then I was teleported to her.
"Thanks Ianite, I'll see you afterward."
"I'm staying too. Dianite and I would like to inspect your work. ~looks over my shoulder. I look behind me and Dec and Dianite are coming toward us on the pier~ Hello boys!" They waved.
"Lucky, good to see you. I hear you're a Priestess now?", Dec said.
"Yup, I still need to declare my allegiance to Ianite though ~Ianite took my hand at that and smiled at me~, but Dianite said we'll worry about that when I perfect my abilities."
"Your abilities... I'm still surprised that you are this powerful. You sure you're not a wizard, or even Architect?"
"If I were an Architect, wouldn't I be 2,000 years old like Hrodi and Thornar?"
"Not necessarily. If there's need for an extra Architect, one can be born in modern times.", Dianite said.
"Am I an Architect?"
"No. Architects are more builders and people who have abilities. They also are the makers of the realms remember. You're not a builder, you are psychic, a potions master, and a half-born wizard. You're one step above Priestess. I just need to figure out what that would be called... High Priestess maybe? You could be a High Priestess, so I guess you could say you're above Dec here. Lucky, once you are officially recognized as a Priestess, you'll gain immortality. ~I felt Ianite's surprise, but also excitement at that... I'm surprised she didn't know that~ You're a messenger of the gods. We need our messengers to be immortal. So I suggest you get to learning how to use your powers after this. Unless there's a mission, then you need to go on those."
"Ok, well, I just gained my, can feel what others feel, ability. I felt Ianite's surprise and excitement at my gaining immortality. Ianite, why were you surprised? Didn't you know that?"
"Yes, I do. I just forgot momentarily. Last night I was worrying about the heartache I would go through being with a mortal after you unalive of old age, or now thinking even by fatal injuries... I forgot you were going to be sworn in as Priestess soon." I smiled gently and took her other hand.
"You don't have to worry. Even if I were to still be mortal, I would tell you that it's ok to grieve, but don't linger on it. I would tell you to move on and live your immortal life to the fullest. Watch over your new champions and followers as the years go by. Help them, like you help me and Sparky, but always remember me. You could make a grave for me and go there when you felt like having a moment. Thankfully however, you don't need to do that. I mean, still help and watch over your new champions and followers as the years go by, but other than that, I'm going to practice my powers after we are done here and soon I will be sworn in as High Priestess." She smiled.
"Yeah, that makes me feel better. Thank you Lucky. You're right. ~she hugged me close, then we turned to the guys~ Well, shall we get started?"
"Before we do... you two are a thing?", they asked.
"Yes, we are.", we answered.
"Wow... ok. Congrats then." We chuckled at their reaction.
"Thanks."
"Oh, Ianite, I had an idea, I could make a soulfire perimeter so that no one could come in."
"Great idea, and Dianite and I could use our powers to make it so only you, Dianite, Dec, and I can come in. Though when Dianite leaves, I'll make it so he can't come in and mess with our work..." I nodded, then I got out my wand and made a whole soulfire perimeter around the island, then Ianite and Dianite used their powers to make it so that only the 4 of us can come in and out for the time being. Now we finally got to working on the Tank of Judgement.
The god and goddess instructed us on where they wanted the extra tanks and then Dec showed me how to use a command block. Wow, it was pretty complicated. Well, I don't know about complicated, but more tedious. You have to figure out coordinates and then remember them and input them into the specific command that you're doing, and... yeah... We split the amount of command blocks between us both and we finished our work at a little past noon.
"Wow, being a Priestess is tough."
"Can you do it?", Dianite asked.
"Of course. I will proudly wear the title of Priestess, High Priestess even."
"Good." We exited the perimeter then Ianite used her powers to edit the blacklist for the fire and Dianite touched the fire, making it red momentarily then it went back to blue.
"The fire will also now only answer to me, only I can 'edit', so-to-speak, the blacklist of people.", Ianite said. We all nodded then we left, three of us going separate ways. Ianite and I headed toward my and Sparky's island. When we arrived, Sparky and Karl were on the beach, talking. They saw us approaching and waved. We waved back and went over to them when we docked.
"Hey, Sparky, Karl. You know what I thought of when I was working with Dec, Ianite, and Dianite? Maybe Wot is the Darkness because you all refused to help him out by giving him a home... also because you unalived him Karl. Sparky, you happily gave me a home within your home when you saved me from drowning, so why not Wot?"
"I didn't have the room at that time, otherwise I would have."
"Hmm... well, sadly, apparently that answer wasn't good enough for him... it would have been for me."
"That's a really good theory Lucky though.", Karl said. I nodded. I wonder, is it really a theory, or am I right? Well, there's only one way to find out. I think. I wonder if fire reading can tell me? The fire died out from yesterday, so I waved my wand over the campfire logs again and soulfire appeared. I sat down in front of it and Ianite sat next to me.
"Lucky?", Sparky started, but Ianite held up her hand.
"She's going to fire read, or try to. Silence is needed." Sparky and Karl nodded, then sat on my other side. I looked into the fire.
'What happened to Wot to make him the Darkness?', I thought a few times, then the fire grew bigger, making Sparky and Karl scooch back a little in shock. Ianite didn't even flinch, nor did I. Then I could see blurry images. I squinted, willing them to become clearer. They do, slowly... but then they became clear enough for me to see. What I had theorized actually is what happened. I relayed this to the others as I saw it happen. I was entranced by the fire reading, so my voice was a little monotonous.
"After Sparky denied Wot, Wot swore vengeance on everyone here. His heart got so dark, it surrounded his whole being and took over his mindset. Eventually, it overtook him enough for him to expand his vengeance on the world and overthrew the balance of the world, he gained the ability to infect people and gods with the darkness within him, and made allies with Gandus." The fire then died down, and then went out. I blinked a few times. I need to get used to fire reading. Ianite laid her hand on mine.
"You ok?"
"Yeah, just need to get used to fire reading.", I said, smiling gently at her when I could. She smiled back.
"Ok. Glad you're ok."
"Whoa, that was cool seeing you fire read Lucky.", Karl said. I grinned.
"It's a cool ability to have. Ok to recap for my own checkoff list of abilities I gained after Dianite told me I could do them: I can read minds, I can read my soulfire, I can feel what others feel, I can detect lies, and I can project my voice. I still haven't gained sensing presences and danger, I still haven't gotten any visions of the near future, and I still haven't gained the ability to tell someone's true intentions." I thought about how I could sense danger and presences. Then I figured out a way.
I hyper focused on my surroundings. I closed my eyes and felt. Just felt. I focused on Ianite's hand on mine to start with, then I focused on her entire presence, being next to me. Then slowly, I started feeling something. I felt peace, yet turmoil. My eyes are still closed, but I furrowed my brow in confusion still. Well, she is balance, that's what she stands for, but the turmoil should be lesser than the peace. It's not. I opened my eyes and looked at her, concerned.
"My lady, why do I feel such turmoil in your presence? I felt peace and turmoil when I focused on your presence, but turmoil took over the peace that should be more prominent."
"You know that answer to that my champion." I looked down. She's right. I do. It's because of the imbalance. There's more chaos in the world than peace right now. I voiced that and she nodded sadly. I held her to me. She laid her head on my shoulder, then I focused on feeling Sparky's and Karl's presences. Sparky's presence ended up feeling like a gentle hug. Aww. Karl's presence felt a little rugged, like I could feel that he was tough. Well, he is a caveman, so... I'm not really surprised. I relayed this to them and Karl lightly teased Sparky about his presence. Ianite giggled at the both of their antics as I chuckled. So, I can feel presences.
Now, danger. I should be able to now. In fact... I could feel something ominous. I stood with Ianite, holding her closer to me, protecting her.
"Lucky, what's wrong?", the three of them asked, Sparky and Karl standing now too.
"I feel an ominous presence. Something's going to happen." Boy, was I right...
