Time Flies
A boy named Sanī looked up to the sky and sighed. "My papa is in the Air Force and protecting the country. I wish I could fly." He looks up in the sky and sees a picture of his father touching a cloud as his partner is flying a plane. "I always want to see the clouds, and I always want to be close to me, papa!" The group of Xanafied Unown Pokemon heard the boy's cry and made his wish possible.
The next day, Jeremy woke up. "The sun is bright this morning," he said. After he gets ready for his day, he meets with his friends. "It is hot," Odd said as he was fanning himself. "The sun is shining, but the clouds are there," Aelita said. "Yeah. We were trying to see how many pictures we could see," Allison said. "I won," Brock said with glee. "I found five." "Five?" Jeremy puzzlingly asks. "A Pikachu, tree, ice cream, a bird, and a pillow." "A pillow? That is a lazy answer," Ulrich said. "It's true. Look," Dawn points to the sky. "I see it now." Yumi looks up and gulps. "Look what else I see." They look up. "The eye of XANA!" William shouts. "I can tell you there are no activated towers right now," Jeremy said. The group agrees and goes about their day. However, William pulls Aelita aside. "Do you feel anything?" "Not right now," Aelita said. "Me neither. Is this what it's like? Being XANA paranoid," William asks. Aelita chuckles. "Yeah, but if we sense anything, we'll be ready." Laura takes a picture and smiles. The students have class, lunch, and extra curriculum activities throughout that day. Ash looks outside the window and admires the clouds. "The day has been perfect all day." "I know. It is like the sun wants to stay out all day," Rocky said. "Anyway, back to practice." Ash nods. Allison and Dawn are warming up with the other cheerleaders when Sissi arrives. "It is fucking hot outside," she shouts. "We know," Claire said. As the team practices, Magali looks at her watch. "It is fall and almost five in the afternoon." "So?" Sissi asks. "The sky is still too bright." "I think you need to chill." "No. I noticed that too. I woke up at four in the morning, and it was as bright as this morning," Alice said. "That is strange. Even for a summer morning," Allison said. "Maybe after this routine, we should call it a day," Dawn said. "Excuse me, who made you in charge?" Sissi barks. "Well, as your friends, you made Allison and me co-captains." "Plus, it is still 33 degrees Celsius (91.4 degrees Fahrenheit). We should go inside," Allison said. "Fine. Only because you're right, it is too hot," Sissi said. At dinner, the sky is still so bright. "Okay, I know that in the summer, dinner time is bright, but this shit is ridiculous," Ulrich said. "Whoa, don't mess with the Unknown, pun intended," William said. "You think it could be the Unown?" Odd asks. "Honestly, I don't know. I hope not, but it is better than the alternative." "No way," Dawn said. "The former trainers at this table have all dealt with Unown. Neither are fun." The group takes that into account. Later in the "evening," Dawn catches Aelita in the showers. "Hey, did you randomly get an email from Spotify about a song?" "Nope. Don't click on it. It might be a spam mail." "Okay." Later on, Aelita pulls down her shades and lays in bed. "I can't sleep with the bright ass sun in my face." She covers her face with a pillow. "Wait, I did get two songs from Spotify, and so did Yumi. I should tell Dawn in the morning." Aelita stops herself. "Or should I say when I wake up?"
In the "morning," the students wake up to see plants and Pokemon looking sick." "These plants had too much sun," Tamiya said. "I noticed that these nocturnal Pokemon couldn't come out of their homes," Ash J said. "What do you mean?" Rocky asks. "These Pokemon come out at night and don't do well during the day. They can survive, but it messes with their sense of self." "What about Blacky?" Moxie asks. "Blacky would go to bed around midnight as he likes to stay up late, but with the 24hr sunshine, he was confused, and so am I," Ash J said. At breakfast, the Warriors start to get concerned. "If this keeps up, the ecosystem could go out of whack," Jeremy said. "I agree. the only place that can handle 24 hours of sunshine is Antarctica, which is only for half the year," Allison said. "I am looking at the news," Ash said. He turns on Allison's tablet. A Guyanese-French woman name Sherlnee Stack reported on the strange phenomenon. "It seems that all over the world, there is sunlight all the time. While it may be fun for some, it can affect our sense of time, function, and many Pokemon need the time change to live. According to professors here in the region, a district in pairs seems to be the source of the problem." "The is near where I live," Yumi said. "Maybe we should go and check it out," Brock said. At the same time, Aelita and William dropped their forks and held their heads. "XANA!" "XANA? Is it behind this? How? How could it control the Earth's rotation?" Allison asks. Jeremy looks at his beeping computer. "Two activated towers," Jeremy exclaims. "Two. Does that mean two different attacks?" Dawn asks. "I don't know. XANA hasn't done this before." "That means XANA is stronger than we thought," Ulrich said. "Okay, I think we need to split into three teams. One team goes to Yumi's neighborhood and sees the strange activity surrounding the endless daylight. The other two teams go on Lyoko and deal with the towers." "Where are the towers?" William asks. "On the Ice Sector and the Cortex," Jeremy confirms. "Then I should go on the Ice Sector, and Aelits should go on the Cortex." "Why do you get to decide?" Aelita sternly asks. "Well, think about it," Odd said. "After deactivating the tower, you can use your powers to enter the Core and investigate for more information." "Right," Aelita concedes. It is decided that Yumi, Brock, and Odd will investigate the neighborhood, William, Dawn, and Ash will go to the Ice Sector, and Aelita, Allison, and Ulrich will go to the Cortex.
On the Ice Sector, there is a snow storm. "I can't see," Dawn said. "Try to army crawl so we can stay low and see one another," Ash said. "Good idea," William said. The trio did that, and Dawn could see a tower. "Jeremy, I can see a tower. Is that it?" "Yeah, but watch out for cracks in the ice," Jeremy said. Jeremy sends the vehicles. "I think you should be able to see above the squall." Dawn grabs her Air Glider and starts to fly. "I can see much better." Ash grabs his Air Drone, and William uses the Overbike. "Does Ulrich mind?" William asks. "Asks Allison," Ash said. "Allison has her bike," Williams points out. "Well, Ulrich was upset that Allison can ride it better," Dawn said. "So, that answer is no," William teases. "I am working on yours. Give me a few days," Jeremy stresses. XANA has created some snow hornets to join the party. "Ice laser, watch out," Dawn said. She takes out her Poi Sticks and strikes two hornets. Ash uses his Knightly Sword and hits three hornets while whacking one away. William uses his Zweihänder and strikes three hornets. "We can see the tower," William said. As he said that, the snowfall intensified. "The snow is thick," Ash said. "I think we can make it," William said. William crashes his ride into a giant snow block. "William!" Ash shouts as he flies to grab him. "Look out!" Dawn shouts. XANA has created a huge snow tarantula that shoots at the vehicles; Ash, William, and Dawn fall to the ground and each loses twenty life points. "Ouch!" William said. "Run!" Ash shouts. Meanwhile, Aelita has docked the ship on the Cortex, and Allison, Ulrich, and herself are on the Cortex. "What do towers look like on the Cortex?" Allison asks. "I don't know?" Aelita answers. "The tower is north of your location," Jeremy said. The trio jumps on blocks and avoids moving structures. "I see it. It is a black and red rectangle," Ulrich said. "I see. Since XANA didn't make this replica, it would have different towers," Jeremy said. "Is it even a replica?" "We need to see the stats of the Cortex. It may have similar codes like Lyoko," Aelita said. "True, and the fact that there is information on Aelita's parents means the creator knows them and maybe Hopper's work," Jeremy said. Moments later, krabs attack the trio. "Good. I was hungry,' Ulrich said. "Ulrich, you sounded more like Odd," Aelita said. "They live together for years, rub off one another," Allison said. "Not true," Ulrich said. "yeah, Dawn told me that when she went, you see Odd, his side was clean, and Kiwi even stayed on his side." "Okay, we might have a problem," Ulrich teased. He uses his Katana swords to stab a krab on its back. Allison twirls and slides under a krab and stabs it. Aelita uses her energy fields to strike two krabs. After all of the krabs are defeated, Aelita sees the tower. "We are almost there, only a few more feet," Aelita said. Urich sees the paths are changing. "Excuse me, the last path is gone," Ulrich said. "It looks like there is one way, but there are a lot of traps," Allison said. Aelita looks up. "I see why," she said. XANA has sent one last krab to destroy some of the Cortex's structure, and big pieces start to fall. "We can't outrun that," Aelita said. Allison takes a breath. "I hope I can do this," she said as she grabbed Ulrich and Aelita's hands. She closes her eyes and focuses all her energy on her ballet tiara, creating a large force field that blocks the falling pieces. "How long can you keep it up?" Ulrich asks. "I don't know," Allison said. At the same time, Yumi, Odd, and Brock see Yumi's neighbor, Loki, sitting on his steps. "Hey," Yumi said. "Hey, Yumi," Loki said. "I love that I can see the clouds all the time." "Why?" Odd asks. "I can stay connected to my papa. He is in the Air Force." "Cool. I love looking at clouds with my siblings," Brock said. "Cool. What's your favorite shape?" Loki asks. "An ice cream." "Yummy." Yumi sees the boy eating an ice cream cone. "Where did you get the ice cream from?" Odd asks. "What do you mean?" Loki asks. "Look. We are looking around because as much as we love the sun, we need both day and night," Yumi said. "But, my papa can't fly at night," Loki said. "He might have to if he needs to protect the region," Odd said. "No. I want clouds. I want sun!" Loki screams. His eyes turn blank, and his fists start to glow. "XANA," Brock said. "Hey. I understand. We worry about our parents too," Odd said to ease the tension. "No! I want to be close to my papa! I want clouds!" Loki screams. The trio prepares to fight XANA's power but is shocked when they see six Unown Pokemon appear. XANA took over five, but a six one was separated from the group and joined the party. "My friends will save my happiness," Loki said. "Xanafied Unown," Odd said as sweats dropped from his forehead. The Unown uses Hidden Power on Yumi, Brock, and Odd and is shoved into the brushes again. The Unown uses Hidden Power again, but Vivillon, Houndoom, and Steelix use Protect to guard their trainers. "Whoa," Ash J said. He decided to look into the 24 hours of daylight with Moxie and Rocky and could not believe what he saw. Houndoom uses Shadow Ball and knocks the Unown down like bowling pins. Unown uses Hidden Power again, and Loki makes electromagnetic waves come from his hands snd attacks the teens, but Blacky, Meganium, and Venusaur use Protect as well.
In the Ice Sector, William, Ash, and Dawn hide in a cave. "My head," Dawn said. "Since when did XANA have all of that power?" Ash asks. "I think XANA took a long ass nap and has acquired energy from its new home, the Cortex," William said. "I agree, which is why the sooner Aelita deactivated the tower in the Cortex, the sooner we can gather more information," Jeremy said. "How are they?" Ash asks. "Well, let's say Chicken Little was right," Jeremy nervously said. "That's fucking great. Please tell me Odd, Brock, and Yumi are having better luck," Dawn said. "I haven't heard from them. Hold on, Brock is calling me." "Jeremy!" Brock shouts. "Brock, what is going on?" "Well, XANA has possessed a boy and the Unown Pokemon." "Why?" "The boy, Loki, misses his dad, who is in the Air Force. He connects with his dad through clouds, and the Unown picks that up. Now, add XANA into the mix and, holy shit!" "Brock! Brock!" Jeremy calls out. "Jeremy?" William asks. "The short version, XANA has taken advantage of a young boy missing his daddy." "The long version?" Ash asks. "Unown," Jeremy said. "Okay, we need a plan to deal with the abnormal snow tarantula," Dawn said. "I might have a plan," Ash said. "Let's hear it," William said. "Okay, we can do it," William said. "Agree. Let's hope the team on the Cortex are doing better," Dawn said. As Allison uses what strength she has left to
create a force field to protect the group from falling debris, Ulrich sees a cave nearby. "I have an idea to get us safe and away from the falling blocks of doom," he said. "I am all ears," Aelita said. "I am going to Super Sprint us to that cave over there." "Anything," Allison pleads as she is on the brink of exhaustion. "But, you have to hang on," Ulrich said. "Okay." Ulrich looks for an opening and goes for it. He leads the trio to the cave, and Allison relaxes. "That... was crazy," Allison said. "The unstable terrain makes it difficult to reach the tower," Aelita said. "I can see the tower from here. It looks like a few more feet. Only we had a way to reach it." "The krabs. We can ride them," Alison said. "We can. However, we need to know what is happening with the others. Jeremy?" Aelita calls out. "Yeah. Sorry, Aelita. I was talking to the others," Jeremy said. "How are they?" "Complicated." "What does that mean?" Ulrich asks. "Between a snow monster on the Ice Sector to the attack of the Unown, it's complicated." "Unown? Snow Monsters, are we in a cartoon soap opera?" Allison asks. "I don't know, but Yumi, Brock, and Odd are in a bad place. We don't know which tower does, so we must hurry." "Roger that, Jeremy," Aelita said. "Okay. I realize that we can fly Allison. So if we can get Ulrich on a krab, that can increase our chance if we both fly." "I like that," Allison said. Yumi commands her Vivillion to use Hurricane to blow the Unown away. However, Loki waves his hands, and the Unown regain their strength. "Based on what you told me, we need to reach Loki. If we can explain that his dad is still with him even if he doesn't see clouds, we might loosen the control of the Unown," Moie said. Brock nods. "However, there is a bigger problem," Brock thinks. "Odd, come with me," Ash J said. "Why?" Odd asks. "Our Pokemon are immune to the Unown. We can deal with them while the others try to reach Loki." "Right, Dark-types are immune to Psychic-types," Odd said. Unown use Hidden Power again. "Houndoom, use Flamethrower," Odd commands. "Blacky, use Dark Pulse," Ash J commands. The move cancels the Hidden Power. "My turn," Loki said. He waves his hands and attacks using Hidden Power. "We have to deflect the attack away from the homes. Steelix, use Iron Tail to knock it away," Brock commands. Steelix complies. "I think if we can separate Loki from the Unown, we can reach him better," Rocky said. "I agree," Brock said. "Venusaur, use Vine Whip to grab Loki. Venusaur uses Vine Whip to grab Loki. "Let me go!" Loki screams. "Meganium, use Petal Dance," Moxie commands. Petal Dance blocks the Unown from reaching Loki. "Loki, you have to fight this. It's okay to miss your dad. My mom is in the Air Force too," Rocky pleads. "You gave no idea!" Loki shouts as he shocks Venusaur. "Venusaur!" Rocky cries out. "Stop it; you won't win!" Yumi shouts. "I will," XANA-Loki shouts. Loki waves his hands and shocks everyone as the Pokemon use Protect, but the Xanafied Unown also cracks the Protect and shocks the Pokemon.
On Lyoko, Ash climbs on top of the snow tarantula and waits for Dawn. Dawn quadruples herself and taunts the monster. "Na Na, Na, boo, boo. You can't catch me," Dawn said. The monster tries to shoot Dawn. Willam uses Super Smoke and heads for the tower. He comes face to face with the Scyphozoa. He freezes. I am here for you, my child! William here's the message in his head, and he freezes. Dawn sees William and leads the monster to hit the jellyfish creature. "William, move!" Ash shouts as he stabs the snow monsters on the target. William runs into the tower. On the Cortex, Ulrich is on a Krab as Aelita flies to the tower. Allison moves out of the way as the Cortex's surface tries to hit her. The krab attempts to shoot at Aelita, but she dodges the attack. Ulrich moves out of the way as a pillar squishes the krab, and Allison pushes Aelita into the tower. Back with the battle, Loki snaps out of it and hears his mother's voice. "Loki. I am so sorry. I should have realized that you were struggling since your dad left," Marī said. "I'm sorry. I didn't know the Unown were behind this," Loki said. "Nonsense, they were trying to make you feel better. It is not your fault." The Unown looked confused. "Thank you, Unown. I think we can have our normal day back." The Unown looked around and fixed everything. The teen breathed a sigh of relief. "We did it," Ash J said. "Yeah, we did," Odd said. Jeremy calls Yumi. "How is everything?" "Good. Do you think we need to do an RTTP?" "No. I think Loki will need to remember this lesson and doesn't;t shut up like this happens all the time." "It sure does," Allison said. "Okay, meet us at the lab; Aelita found some information when she deactivated the tower," Jeremy said. "We need to head for the Factory," Yumi said. "Is Jeremy doing an RTTP?" Odd asks. "No. Loki might need to remember this," Yumi said. "Plus, there is a good chance that this will happen again if we do one," Brock said. "No thanks. Let's go," Odd said. Ash J listens. "XANA? Lyoko? I heard that before." "Are you okay?" Moxie asks. "Yeah. I think I need ice cream, stat." "Well, it is only five minutes away," Rocky said. As both groups leave, Laura is on the phone with a man as she looks through pictures. "You were right; there wouldn't do a return to the past," Laura said. "Even if they did, we would have collected the data," the man said.
At the lab, Jeremy reveals something. "Professor Lowell Tyron," Jeremy said. "Who is that?" Brock asks. "He is the created of the Cortex, which is connected to his Supercomputer." "Is he related to Franz Hopper in any way?" Odd asks. "I am not sure. Given that my parents are in his system, I think he worked with them," Aelita said. Ulrich thinks. "Does he even know that XANA is on his computer?" "I think so, but since he is not the threat, XANA doesn't care," Jeremy said. "Okay, what is his goal?" Ash asks. "We don't know, but as long as h is not a threat, we will leave him alone," Jeremy said. Ulrich receives an email from Spotify. "Karma by Alicia Keys," Ulrich reads. Odd gets an email as well. "Earned It by The Weeknd," Odd reads. "Why am I getting emails from Spotify?" "You have been getting emails as well?" Yumi asks. "Yeah. You too?" Ulrich asks. Aelita sees Jeremy imputing the data into the Supercomputer. "Dawn asked me, but I had said no at first. I think she received one too," Aelita said. "This may not be by chance," Ulrich said. Dawn sits by William. "Are you okay?" "No!" William said. "What is wrong?" Allison asks. "Nothing," William said. "The Scyphozoa came back, and Willam froze," Dawn said. "I see," Allison said. "I-I-," William holds his head. "It's okay. The last time you saw that jellyfish, your whole life changed." "Ash and I are not mad. We understood what you must have been feeling," Dawn said. "What about Jeremy?" William asks. "Did he say something?" "Not yet." "Then there is no need to worry." William laughs. "I heard that is when I should worry the most." Dawn puts him in a headlock. "See, even William is catching on," Ash teases. "So, true," Brock adds in. "Anyway, is everything for the fundraiser?" Odd asks. "Yes and no. Yes, because Mr. Delmas said it was okay, but I have no idea what I will do for it, and I have to have it in three days," Yumi said. "You could have a dance. Charge admission and maybe different clubs and make something we could sell for the fundraiser," Aelita said. "That is a great idea," Ulrich said. Back in tow, Laura finishes her call. "The next two emails have gone out." "Good. Hopefully, they can figure it out," Professor Tyron said. "Of course, that way, when they do, they will know that you mean business." "Yes. Waldo was a fool not to have trusted me. Now, he will watch me complete my research. Good work, my pupil," Professor Tyron said as he laughed.
It looks like Laura works with Professor Tyron. But what is their goal? Who is Professor Tyron, and why did Franz Hopper kick him out? Also, what is the fundraiser about? Mr. Delmas sees the request for the dance on his desk. "I see. The fundraiser is a dance. I see that Ms. Ishyama is dedicated to her cause." "Well, her family is from Johto, and her hometown did have that huge flood a few weeks ago. What better way to raise than to have a party," Ms. Webber said. A Dance? What could go wrong? What is this? XANA activated another tower from the Mountian Sector. Rocky is sitting in the park when XANA's ghost attacks him. "Hmm, I have never felt this good," Rocky said.
