Elena joined Stefan on the bed with a sigh, leaning into him as he ran his hands through her hair. She enjoyed these simple moments she had with him.
It had been 2 long days since she broke the blood bond, they hadn't heard anything from Klaus, which worried Elena.
They had all been trying to find a way to keep Elena safe and hidden, which is why they cloaked Elena and sent her off with Stefan.
"Stefan…"
"Shh, I know. It's okay."
Elena sat up and looked at him.
"It's not okay, Stefan. I- I cheated on you, nothing about that is okay."
Stefan frowned at her. He already knew this, but hearing those words made it even more painful.
"I forgive you, you had no control over your actions."
"It's still wrong, Stef-."
Elena's words died in her throat as Stefan's lips found their way to her's. Elena paused before melting into the kiss.
Stefan pulled away and looked around. Elena started to talk but Stefan put a finger on her lip.
"Stefan, I don't feel so-" Elena started again before she fainted out.
Stefan let out a sigh as Katherine walked into the room.
"You're sure this is going to work?" Stefan asked.
"No, but it's our only chance to get Klaus off our backs." Katherine answered.
Stefan looked down at Elena with a frown on his face. Katherine quickly moved towards him and lifted his face towards hers.
"It's me and you, Stefan." Katherine reminded, looking at him lovingly.
Stefan nodded as a sad smile appeared on his face, he hated that he had to do this. Elena trusted him and he's breaking that trust. Of course, he cared for Elena, but he didn't love her. The only person who truly had his heart was Katherine.
Katherine had found Stefan in 1930, and revealed that she was alive. Stefan was mad at Katherine at first, but they came to an understanding when Katherine told Stefan about her past. They had started to secretly date not long after that, no one ever found out about their relationship.
Katherine sent Stefan to Mystic Falls to win her doppelgängers heart while she found a way to get the news to Klaus that there was another human doppelgänger. Their plans had gone perfectly, she only hoped Stefan's feelings didn't get in the way of their plan.
"She'll be fine." Katherine assured him as she picked up Elena's body.
Elena groaned, struggling to open her eyes. She felt her head on someone's lap and immediately relaxed.
"Stefan." Elena mumbled.
"Sorry to disappoint." Klaus said huskily.
Elena's eyes snapped open as she tried to jump out of his lap, but his tight grip held her in place.
"Let go of me, Klaus." Elena demanded.
"It seems you have forgotten who belongs to who." Klaus commented.
"I suppose I'll just have to remind you." Klaus whispered, smirking when he heard Elena's heart skip a beat.
"Where's Stefan?" Elena asked, panicking on the inside.
Klaus clenched his jaw and tightened his grip on Elena, causing her to wince at the pain. He had no idea why Elena's words had that effect on him, whatever it was he didn't like it.
"Are you sure you want to know? After all, he is the one who gave you to me." Klaus revealed.
"No, he wouldn't do that to me… he loves me." Elena argued.
"He loves Katherine, not you." Klaus deadpanned
"Everybody knows that Stefan hates Katherine." Elena paused before continuing.
"I know what you're trying to do Klaus, it's not going to work. You can't control me, I am not your puppet." Elena said defiantly.
"You're whatever I want you to be sweetheart." Klaus said with a chuckle.
"Elena?" A weak voice asked.
Elena froze, her eyes slowly going towards the person chained to the wall, praying that it wasn't who she thought it was.
"Jenna?" Elena asked confusedly.
"Ah, look who decided to join us." Klaus said standing up.
"Why is she here Klaus?" Elena asked worriedly.
Klaus yanked Elena towards him and bit her wrist, causing Elena to hiss in pain. Klaus shoved Elena's wrist into Jenna's waiting mouth. Jenna's eyes widened in shock before she gave in to the blood lust.
Klaus watched intently, only pulling Elena away when he was sure Jenna had gotten enough to complete the transition.
"Why are you doing this?" Elena yelled as tears brimmed her eyes.
"I need a vampire for the ritual." Klaus paused before continuing.
"Consider this your punishment." Klaus added, biting his wrist and shoving it into Elena's mouth.
"I'm not going to let you sacrifice me." Elena protested, rubbing the blood off her mouth.
"I never said you had a choice." Klaus said, starting to drag Elena out of the room.
Elena tried to fight him on it, but she was far too weak. The only thing she could do was tell Jenna how sorry she was as Klaus dragged her out of the room.
Klaus threw Elena into a room she had never seen before. The walls were painted gray, the furniture was all white, an antique chandelier hung from the ceiling. Without saying a word Klaus walked out of the room, locking the door before Elena could get out.
Elena sighed and slid down the door. She needed to find a way out, she wouldn't let Klaus have his way. Not after everything he's done to her, not after he turned Jenna into a vampire.
Elena never wanted Jenna to get involved in this and now Klaus planned to kill her in a sacrifice. Elena won't allow that to happen, she was determined to get herself and her aunt out of there… but how?
Elena thought about it for hours before finally coming up with a plan. It was risky and dangerous, she didn't like what she had to put at risk… what would happen if her plan failed.
She knew this would make her seem more like Katherine, but at the moment she didn't care. It needed to be done, she wasn't going to sit there and watch Klaus kill Jenna.
Elena released a shaky breath as she took a sharp crystal from the chandelier and walked into the bathroom. She bit her lip nervously as she stopped up the sink and cut her wrist, wincing when the crystal sliced her skin.
Elena gulped as she watched her blood slowly fill the sink. She raised the crystal to her neck, hesitating before slitting her throat.
'There's no going back after this' she thought as her body fell onto the bathroom floor.
Elena woke up with a gasp. Her eyes searched the room rapidly, unsure of how long it had been since she killed herself. Everything was brighter, her eyesight was better than it had ever been before, her body felt different on the tiled bathroom floor, and she could even hear Jenna breathing softly.
Elena's jaw tightened as she tried to strain her ears for a sign of Klaus, she heard nothing. She let out a sigh of relief, he had left which gave her a chance to execute her plan.
Elena stood up slowly and reached her hand into the sink full of her blood. She quickly stuck her blood-stained hand into her mouth, moaning as the coppery taste of blood hit her tongue. Her body buzzed for more, but she stopped herself, remembering what she had to do.
Elena swiftly made her way to the bedroom door and broke the handle, making as little noise as possible. She found her way back to the room Jenna was in, she made her way into the room signaling Jenna to stay quiet as she undid her chains.
"I'm going to get us out of here." Elena whispered.
Jenna nodded her head with fear in her eyes. Elena grabbed Jenna's arm and sped them to Salvatore's house.
Elena walked into the house with Jenna after no one answered the door pausing when she saw Stefan and Katherine making out in the living room.
Elena's eyes widened as she realized Klaus had not been lying. Stefan seemed to notice her presence because he stopped and looked up
"Elena?" Stefan asked confusedly, noticing how mortified Elena looked.
"You… her… why?" Elena asked, feeling her heartbreaking.
Unlike Stefan, she truly loved him. Katherine backed away pulling out her phone since no one was paying attention to her.
"Elena, let me explain-" Stefan started before getting interrupted.
"Explain what? That you've cheated on me? How long?" Elena asked, letting out a humorless laugh.
"Elena." Stefan said cautiously.
"How long Stefan!?" Elena yelled.
"Since 1930." Stefan confessed.
Elena gasped as tears formed in her eyes as she realized that Stefan had never, all this time… she had been an idiot. Elena was about to respond when she heard a gasp.
She quickly turned her head to see Jenna's corpse on the floor causing her to let out a sob. Elena's eyes slowly went up, only to see Katherine with Jenna's heart in her hand.
A look of insanity spread across Elena's face as she charged at Katherine. Stefan quickly restrained Elena as she fought against him, baring her fangs.
"You're a vampire, how?" Stefan asked, completely shocked.
He realized he wasn't going to get an answer when Elena kept thrashing around trying to get to Katherine. Stefan's eyes went straight to Katherine and realized what was going on.
"Listen to me Elena, Klaus is on his way. He will kill you." Stefan warned.
"I don't care, let me go." Elena growled.
"He will kill Jeremy, Elena. Get your brother and get the hell away from here." Stefan demanded.
Elena slowly stopped, realizing that Stefan was right. Stefan hesitantly released Elena and watched as a tear flew down her cheek. Without saying a word Elena sped off to go get Jeremy.
Elena ended up finding Jeremy walking outside of the house. Without warning, Elena grabbed him and sped out of Mystic Falls with a confused Jeremy Gilbert.
"What the hell?" Jeremy asked after Elena stopped and placed him down.
"Katherine?" Jeremy asked with wide eyes.
"No, I'm Elena." Elena said nervously.
"You're a… how?" Jeremy asked, with fear in his voice.
"I had to escape from Klaus, he was going to kill Jenna… Oh god, Jenna, she's… Katherine killed her." Elena sobbed.
Jeremy took Elena into his arms as tears flowed down his face. Elena pulled away wiping her face, trying to ignore Jeremy's heartbeat.
"Give me your phone." Elena demanded with her hand out.
"What why?" Jeremy asked, pulling his phone out.
Elena grabbed his phone, broke it, and threw it into the woods.
"We have to stay hidden, Klaus will be after us. I can't lose you too Jer." Elena informed, her voice breaking at the end.
"You won't." Jeremy assured, walking closer to her but stopping when she held her hand out.
"What's wrong?" Jeremy asked with concern etched in his voice.
"It's your blood, I haven't controlled it yet. I don't want to hurt you." Elena said in a shaky voice.
Jeremy only shook his head and started walking.
"Where are you going?" Elena asked.
"Elena, you need to learn how to control your blood lust. I will stay hidden until you learn how to control it." Jeremy promised.
"No, what if something happens to you… what if Klaus finds you?" Elena asked.
"I'll change my identity, it can't be that hard." Jeremy said nonchalantly.
"Let me stay with you until you do it. It'll be easier with a vampire on your side… please?" Elena begged.
"Okay, but you have to leave after that." Jeremy sighed.
Elena smiled and started to walk behind him.
"Where is she?" Klaus roared, destroying furniture in the Salvatore's house.
"She got away." Katherine said simply.
"You expect me to believe that you couldn't stop a human from leaving?" Klaus asked sarcastically.
"No one said she was human when she got here, it seems like we weren't so different after all." Katherine said with a smirk on her lips.
Klaus grabbed Katherine's throat and slammed her on the wall.
"I should kill you for this." Klaus growled.
"Klaus, please we did exactly what you told us to do. We've been completely loyal to you. Please don't do this." Stefan begged.
Klaus stubbornly removed his hand from Katherine's neck, leaving the house as Katherine held her neck gasping for air that she didn't need.
Damon, Bonnie, Caroline, Alaric, and Elijah walked into the boarding house confused by the mess.
"What happened here?" Damon asked.
Caroline gasped when she saw Jenna's dead body.
"Klaus happened." Katherine answered, breathing heavily.
"He killed Jenna, Jeremy, and Elena." Stefan lied smoothly, hearing gasps throughout the room.
Alaric went by Jenna's side, sobbing into her bloodied shirt.
"Where's Jeremy's body." Bonnie asked in a broken voice.
"Klaus took them, he said something about burning their bodies." Katherine informed.
"Why would he do this?" Elijah asked.
"Elena turned herself into a vampire." Katherine answered.
Elijah only nodded and walked out of the house, he had full intentions to come back another time. Elijah walked into Klaus's mansion, stepping over pieces of broken furniture.
"There's another way." A feminine voice announced in a shocked voice.
Elijah paused furrowed his eyebrows, listening in to the conversation between Klaus and his witch.
"What is it?" Klaus asked eagerly.
"Someone's fighting against me." The witch said in a strained voice.
"Then fight back." Klaus growled.
The witch dropped her hands from Klaus's head while taking deep breaths.
"Two Petrova doppelgängers, one has immense love for you... and your brother. The other one dies at the hands of the one who loves you. There was something else, but I couldn't see it." The witch informed.
"How do I break the curse?" Klaus asked.
"I can only see into the future, but if everything goes the right way you'll find out soon enough." The witch said.
Elijah sped out of the house, he needed to find Elena before Klaus could get his hands on her. Elena was not a killer, he wouldn't let her become like them. The witch had just proven that Elena was alive, that's all the information he needed.
