My Song Knows What You Did in the Dark
Laura wakes up and does some morning yoga. She opens her window and smiles. "It is a beautiful day. The flying types are flying, and the birds are singing. Laura plugs in a diffuser and takes in the coconut and pineapple scent. "If only I were at the beach." Laura grabs her towel and is about to head for the shower when she overhears Allison, Dawn, and Aelita. "I can't believe last night," Aelita exclaims. "Right. What the fuck is Jack Slate's body doing at the dance?" Dawn asks. "The question is who?" Allison asks. "Who?" Aelita responds. "Who put the body in the gym? It was a message to us, and we need to know who and why?" Allison responds. Laura smiles. "Professor Tyron. How did you do it?" Laura heads for the showers and hears Sissi talking about the dance. "I mean, ice dead body water splashed on me. Yikes!" "I know. Good thing it happened yesterday. We were going to use the ice trays for the film club's screening," Mary said. "What film?" "Odd's new film is about a turf war between two Pokemon. He claims true events inspire it." "Did he cancel it?" "I need to check. Mr. Delmas doesn't like to reschedule things." "Well, I can talk to my daddy. He needs to get real. We saw a zombie last night." Laura laughs. "What is so funny?" Sissi calls out. "It is like a tv show. Maybe Riverdale or Stranger Things?" "Girl, you're tripping," Mary said. At breakfast, Laura sits a few tables away from the Lyoko Warriors. "So, we are going to the Cortex after school?" Odd asks. "We are. I have a feeling that there is a connection between the emails, Jack Slate's body, and the Cortex," Jeremy said. Ulrich cuts into his pancake. "I feel like we are missing something." "We are," Brock said. "I am wondering if Jack Slate knew something?" Ash asks. "What do you mean?" Jeremy asks. "Sometimes, you can keep pictures from before the RTTP. Maybe he took pictures of the flooding, and someone found it." "And what?That someone his body to scare us and send us a message. Fuck out of here," Odd said as he laughed. "Well, in one of his videos, Franz Hopper mentions that he knows someone that sent extreme threats," Jeremy said. The group gulps. "Maybe we will find something on the Cortex," Yumi said. "We will. Half the group will go. the other half will be on standby if XANA attacks," Jeremy said, with the others agreeing. "Perfect. Now, I can spy," Laura said. William turns around and sees Laura hiding her face in her food. "I hope nothing happens," William said.
Laura follows the group to the park and hides behind a tree. Blop! A Seedot drops on her head. "What the fuck? This is not the time!" Laura puts it back on the branch, and it falls again. "Listen! I have things to do!" Laura shouts. "Seedot!" Laura looks around and sees a tree that smells fresh. "Do you like this one?" "Seedot! Seedot!" "Good! Now, where did they go?" Laura walks around and trips on the maintenance hole cover. "It smells like Odd Della Robbia's feet." Laura thinks about it. "Odd's feet. They were here!" Laura climbs down. She takes out her flashlight and sees track marks. "Old school!" She follows the track marks to another ladder and looks outside. "The greenery looks cool here," she said. Laura climbs up and sees the group running towards the edge of the bridge. She follows them and hides on top. "I'm ready to battle," Odd said as he took a fight stance. "That's my line," Ash teases. "Once on the Cortex, I will send out a mega pod," Jeremy said. "A megapod?" Yumi asks. "It will help with navigation on the Cortex. I made two." Aelita kisses Jeremy on the cheek as Laura gags. "Lame!" Brock looks up. "Did you hear something?" "I heard a gag. Maybe it was a Pokemon," Ulrich said. Laura covered her mouth. "Sharp ears," she thought. The group enters the elevator, and Laura studies the code. She looks around and takes in the factory floor. "A great place to hide their lab," she said. She looks at different parts and sees empty super soakers. "What happened here?" Laura hears something. "Jeremy, we're at the Cortex's entrance," Aelita said. Laura calls Professor Tyron. "They're here." "Good. I'll watch and wait," Professor Tyron said. He turns on his Supercomputer and sees the Warriors on his screen as white circles. "Four little brats. Well, maybe these monsters will deal with them." In the megapod, Odd drives it around the Cortex. "Jeremy, it drives amazing," Odd said. "And who knew that Odd can drive," Ulrich teases. "Ha," Odd said. "Meanwhile, us ladies are chilling in the back," Yumi said. "We have two bodyguards," Aelita teases. "Look at them, taking one for the team," Ash said. William gets up and stretches by the ladder. Laura picks up one of the robot parts. "I can use this later," she said. She places it in her bag, but her bag knocks some objects to the floor. "What was that?" William asks. "I heard something on the factory floor," Allison said. "Me too," Dawn said. "I think we should go see," Brock said. "I agree. We need to be on the side of caution," Jeremy said. Laura overhears and runs. In the Core of the Cortex, Aelita searches for information. "Since Jeremy was able to break the firewall, I have full access to the Cortex's interface," Aelita said. Ulrich looks around and hears something. "I hear something," Ulrich said. "It might be the Core's security," Yumi said. Aelita looks around, sees the files on her parents, and sends them to Jeremy. Then she reads the name, "Lowell Tyron, creator of the Cortex." "Does that ring a bell?" Jeremy asks. "No. I wonder if he knows that XANA is in his Supercomputer." Odd looks around and sees green spots moving. "I'm seeing lots of spots, plenty of polka dots," Odd sings. "Odd, not the time," Aelita said. "But I do. The spots of moving." Laura sees the group looking for her. "I heard it over there," William said. Laura needs to act fast. "Cyndaquil," she whispers. "Use Smokescreen." Smokescreen covers the area as she runs. William sees her silhouette. "Over there," he shouts. Aelita finds out that Professor Tyron used to work with her father; "That must have been during the Project Carthage era." Aelita also finds a folder with some of his work. "should I try and send it to you?" "If you can," Jeremy said. As soon as Aelita presses on the fire, Ulrich yells. "Super Sprint!" Aelita turns around and sees a tall black figure with green rings around it staring down at Aelita with two bō staff.
Yumi does a front flip, launches her fans, and knocks down one of the bō staff. "Keep going," Yumi said. "I'll cover you." Yumi pushes the figure off the ledge and onto the lower level. Odd uses his cat-like ability to run down a path and shoot arrows at another figure. "Laser Arrow," he shouts. The figure uses her bō to deflect all of the arrows. Ulrich faces off with one of the black figures. Every move he makes, the black figure deflects. "It is like they can sense our every move," Ulrich said. "Aelita, finish what you are doing so you all can leave," Jeremy states. Aelita tries to access one more file, but a code blocks it. "Jeremy, this file is blocked," she said. "Leave it for now," he tells her. "Wait, can you try? It has information about my mother," Aelita pleas. "I will try for a few minutes. if Anyone is in distress, we are aborting the mission," Jeremy said. "So, our whimpers have to be worse," Odd states. "You wanted a challenge," Yumi said. Back on the factory floor, the group follows the silhouette into another part of the floor. "Spread out. If someone is here, we need to find them," Ash said. Laura holds her Cyndaquil close to her. "Use, Swift," she commands. "But aim for the sprinklers." Cyndaquil obeys, and the sprinklers go off. "It's Swift. The move is trying to activate the sprinklers," Allison points out. "Orbeetle, use Reflect on the sprinklers," William commands. As Orbeetle uses Reflect, Laura and Cydaquil run. "Cynda!" "Shh!" Laura said. "Was that a shh?" Dawn asks. "It was that way," Brock said. Back on the Cortex, Aelita sees something. "I can see him." "Who, Professor Lowell Tyron?" Jeremy asks. "Yes. He is talking to a monitor." Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi notice that the black and green figures are frozen. "Listen up, you shitheads, the teens, are kicking your ass. Finish them off," Professor Tyron shouts. "He is telling some shitheads to kick our asses. Hey, it's not our problem if we're winning," Aelita said. The ninjas go HAM on the Lyoko Warriors. As Odd runs, he shoots laser arrows at the ninjas. One jumps in front of him and stabs him in the chest. "Odd," Ulrich calls out. Ulrich turns around and sees another ninja aiming a bō staff at him; he uses his katanas to block, but the ninja swift kicks him and stabs him. Meanwhile, the woman at the dance and another woman with pink-red hair walk by. The pink-red-headed woman looks at the screen and gasps. "Aelita? But why is she CGI?" The woman from the dance grabs her. "We have work to do!" "But," the pink-red-headed woman protest, but she is dragged away. "She looks like my daughter!" On the factory floor, Dawn sees something. "Cyndaquil!" "A Cyndaquil?" Dawn asks. "Cyndaquil can use Smoke screen and Swift," Allison points out. They chase after the Pokemon until they reach the main area, where they see Ash J, Moxie, and Rocky working on a physic's assignment. "Where's the fire?" Rocky asks from the top of the bridge. "What are you doing here?" William asks. "Our physic's assignment." "Right." "Did anyone see a Cyndaquil here?" Ash asks. "No. Was that the reason for the Smokescreen? We almost called the fire department when we heard you all running," Ash J said. "A Cyndaquil? Cute. I want to see one," Moxie said. "You can see a Typlosion," Allison said. "Not the same." "Come on. You can cuddle with it. Jimmy's Typlosion gives the best hugs on a cold day. "You are so my boyfriend's twin. He said the same shit!" Jeremy calls Dawn for an update. "How is the search?" "Well, we found a wild Cyndaquil. We think it was the source of the noise. Also, Allison's twin and his friends are doing a science project here," Dawn said. "I see on the camera. I don't see the Cyndaquil. Maybe it went back to the forest," Jeremy said. "How are the others?" "Well, Yumi!" Jeremy hangs up. "Jeremy?" Dawn calls out. Laura is hidden in the corner. "Good job, Cydaquil," she said. Brock turns around and sees footprints. "Someone was here," he thinks to himself. Back to the Core of the Cortex. Aelita closes the screen and runs. The last ninja jumps, push her off the edge and throws the bō staff through her chest. "Aelita," Jeremy cries out. he programs the Skid into autopilot mode and rushes to the scanner room. "Is everyone alright?" "No. What the fuck was that?" Odd asks. "It was like they were human," Yumi said. "They were. Professor Tyron called them 'ninjas.' He sent them after us," Aelita said. "I can't believe it. They are either lucky or have been trained," Ulrich said.
Later on in the evening, Laura video chats with professor Tyron. "I saw where their Supercomputer is located. I will have to go check it out when they are busy. Some of them almost found me, but my Cyndaquil covered for me." "Good. How are those teens doing?" Professor Tyron asks. "I heard them talk about the ninjas. They were thrown for a loop." "Good. They will teach them to snoop. I need a few more pieces of research from the Supercomputer by Kadic Academy. With the video from poor late Jack Slate, we have information about XANA. I can create my version of it and get rid of the one in my Supercomputer." "How?" "By letting XANA get stronger and simply 'ejecting' it when the time comes." "I see. What should I do?" "Keep distracting the teenagers. You know how they work. Do something." Laura thinks. The next day, the film clubs showcase their latest projects. Odd stands up and talks about his film and begins to show it. It introduces the two types of Pokemon: Butterfree and Vilillion. The two Pokemon use gust to knock each other out. Later, there is a voice-over, but it is William. "I didn't know you made a cameo," Yumi said. "Yeah. I'm the narrator," William said. Moments later, you hear a conversation between William and Aelita. "Don't worry. I'm here for you," Aelita said. "Thanks, I can count on you," William said. "What! What is going on?" Jeremy asks. "I don't know," Aelita said. "I remember reassuring William that we won't ice him from the group." Then, a conversation between William and Allison. "Look, I know that you feel everyone will be all up in your ass, but I've got your back," Allison said. "Thanks. I wonder if you give Ash these words of wisdom?" William asks. "I do. We're a 'fight to the finish' type couple." The phone rings and the audience can hear Allison leaving to answer the phone. "Ash is lucky to have a girlfriend like Allison. He better be careful, just like Jeremy should." The students in the auditorium turn around and look at William, who is shocked that someone took his words out of context. William looks at Jeremy and Ash, who are giving him the death glare, while Allison and Aelita are shocked. "Who knew that William was a girlfriend stealer?" Moxie asks. "I did!" Ulrich said as Yumi looked at him. Laura smiles to herself. "Woe is he; woe is he," she said.
What in the name of the film club did Laura do? Odd won't be happy; however, Jeremy and Ash will finish William off. But William was talking about how their girlfriends will conquer the world with their wisdom. Of course, Laura cut that part of the audio, but what will be the fallout? What about XANA? What, XANA sent two krabs to Earth? Um, Lyoko Warriors, we have a problem.
