Chapter 19

I was teleported to Mianite. I appeared standing in front of him on his throne in his temple.

"Lucky Fire, what's going on? Why did you call to me? What about Ianite?"

"I... I don't think I can be near her..."

"What happened?" He sounded serious. I told him of my fears and what I thought I should do. He sighed and shook his head. "Lucky... no, that's not what you should do. I understand that you want to keep Ianite safe, but do you not remember that you kept her safe in your fight against the Darkness? Your presence sensing allowed for you to push Ianite away and you pretty much sacrificed yourself for her. You got caught by the Darkness and taken away. You can do that, save her that is, again because of your powers. Do your powers mean nothing to you?"

"But..."

"No buts. Lucky Fire, you need to believe in yourself. If you want to protect Ianite, the best thing is for you to stick together. You can protect her best by staying with her and using your powers." I shook my head, a determined look on my face.

"No, you're wrong. The best way is for me to stay away. Thanks for teleporting me Mianite, but I'm leaving. Don't follow me, especially don't let Ianite try to find me... she can't be with me, not yet anyway. Good bye." I turned and ran. Mianite called after me, he's angry now, I can tell. I ignored him. I kept running, then when I got to high ground, I set my Ender chest down and took out and equipped my Elytra and fireworks. Picking the chest back up, I Elytra'd away, tears streaming down my face. This really kills me to do this, but it's the only way.

~Ianite's POV~

'Ianite, come to me. I need to tell you something. It's very important.' Mianite? I got out of bed and teleported to him. He didn't look too happy.

"Mianite, what is this about? It's late."

"It's about your 'lover'. She asked me to teleport herself to me and then she told me of what she was thinking before communicating with me. She wanted to, and did, run away from you. She thinks it's to try and protect you from Wot." Wait... she ran away?

"What did she say to you? What were her thoughts before communicating with you?"

"She was afraid that her relationship with you was putting you in danger of Wot trying to get at you just to get back at her. She said that it'd be you losing her in a different way. She didn't want you to lose her so she left, thinking she's protecting you and your feelings. That's the exact opposite of protecting you, I tried telling her that, but she's just so stubborn... she's frustrated me. Ianite, what do you think of this girl's stunt?" I looked down. She thinks she's protecting me by keeping her distance? I sighed. Mianite is right though. That's not how you protect someone. I'm glad for Mianite telling me this. I looked back up at Mianite.

"Thank you Mianite. I'm going to go looking for her. Maybe she'll listen to me."

"She said for no one to follow her, especially you."

"I need to find her. She has wounds that need to be taken care of."

"Why would you want to find a flighty mortal? She won't listen to you either. She abandoned you Ianite. How aren't you more upset by that fact?"

"Why are you assuming she just abandoned me? Sure she ran away, but that's because in her mindset, she thinks she's protecting me. You just told me that yourself."

"But she's not! I told her, sticking by your side is the only way she can protect you. If you go, you're only going to get your heart broken... I'm just trying to prevent that. I don't want you getting hurt, I don't want your heart to get broken Ianite. I don't want to see you hurting." I smiled.

"Again, I thank you. I'm glad to know you care so much, but I need to do this."

"If you say so sister. Good luck. You're going to need it to get through that thick skull of that girl." I inclined my head, then I went off in search of my wayward lover.

~Normal POV~

I had made my way to a far off island, where no one would be able to find me. It took me a day and a half. By the time I got to the island, it was just after midnight. I dig into a wall of dirt and stone, making a cave for myself like the good old days. The difference is I have a bed, an Ender chest, and amazing gear. I set my bed down and slept the rest of the night. In the morning, I went out to the shoreline and sat on the edge, dipping my feet in the water. I looked up into the sky, thinking.

'I hope Ianite is safe... I hope she doesn't come looking for me either. We need to be separated for her to be safe. If I'm not there, Wot won't dare try to attack Ianite because I won't be there for him to gloat at me, saying she's under his control. Please Ianite, stay away...' I looked down at the water. Seeing my reflection kind of surprised me a little. I never paid my reflection any attention after being captive by Wot. My face had a few very noticeable scars.

"Whoa. He really got me..." A new reflection then appeared behind me.

"Child, what has happened to you?" I looked up to see a very kind and sweet looking elderly lady. I told her of my, Sparky's, and Karl's fight with the Darkness, me saving Ianite with my psychic powers, and getting captured then rescued, but with a price. My wounds. "You still have wounds that need to be taken care of?" I nodded. "Come walk with me child." I got up with difficulty. I followed the elder as we walked the outskirts of the nearby village.

"My bandages haven't been changed since about 2 days. They need to be changed 3 times a day."

"I see. We'll get you taken care of. I have but one question for you. Why are you here and not with your friends?" She had to ask me that. I explained my situation for the second time today. She sighed and shook her head. Here we go... another lecture...

"That is not how you go about protecting your loved one. You said you have psychic powers, well use them to your advantage. You already did once. You should go back to her."

"Mianite told me the same thing. Mianite is her brother. She also has another brother, Dianite, the three of them are the gods of this world. If I didn't listen to a god, why would I listen to a stranger?", I asked, defensive.

"You don't have to listen to me. I'm just giving you advice. By the way, my name is Debbie. Now I'm not much of a stranger. You know my name. Now, let's see about getting those bandages changed." She led me to what I assume was her house. She called out to someone as we went in. An elderly gentleman appeared.

"Oh, what do we have here?" Debbie went away. I assume to prepare bandages?

"Name's Lucky Fire."

"Lucky Fire huh? Well, nice to meet you. I'm Ernest. You look like you've been through the wringer." I shrugged.

"Kinda." Debbie came back in and came over to me.

"I've got some clean bandages and ointment to treat your wounds with. Come. Ernest, we'll be right out." I followed her to a room. There was a bed, so I sat on that and she took off the old bandages from my legs. "Oh my. The Darkness really got you, didn't it? Well, they're healing pretty well. I feel like you don't need so many bandages anymore. Just little gauze patches over the wounds. That way you can move around better."

"Thank you. I hated not being able to move freely..." She smiled and put the ointment on my wounds. Then she put squares of bandage on them, holding them in place with some sort of tape? She must have seen the confusion on my face.

"This is medical tape. It's made for this. Now, you can't go running and jumping about. It won't stick if you're too active." I nodded, keeping that in mind. Some of the wounds though didn't need bandages. They were not deep enough to need constant covering. Then the same with my arms. I'm excited. Soon I'll be able to not need to do this. Then she got to my shoulder. Before she undid the bandages,

"This one is a hole through my shoulder. If you want, I can do it for you. I've watched Dianite, Dec, and Ianite clean it."

"I'll be fine dear, thank you." She unwrapped the bandages, but because my shoulder was bleeding before, they stuck. "Hmm... I'll be right back. I'm going to get warm water and a cloth." She went out of the room and I looked at my shoulder. Yikes... I tried to get the bandage off myself, but it hurt. I left it alone. Debbie came back in and got to cleaning the shoulder with the water and the cloth. That felt good. After a bit, she was able to get the bandages off without it hurting. She must have some sort of medical training or something, because she was able to clean the wound just like Dianite and Dec.

"Have you had medical training before or something?"

"No, but I know what to do. I've been around the world and seen some things in my life."

"I see." As she finished wrapping the bandages,

"Now, your legs and arms can be done in the morning and at night. Your shoulder is healing alright, but it still needs to be done 3 times a day. Let your loved one know."

"By the time we can be together again, I'm sure I'll be fully healed. I don't need to let her know."

"If you say so child." Debbie took care of everything and I went back out to the entry way. After Debbie was done, she came over to me with Ernest. "Are you leaving?"

"I want to fire read. Dianite told me to practice my powers... I just remembered this. I should. I'm trying to become the High Priestess." I scoffed and went out of the house. "What a High Priestess I'm turning out to be... I'm not even around the others like I'm supposed to be... I'm also supposed to be the messenger of the gods. I help Dec do things for certain things. It's whatever now I guess... I don't think they're gonna want me anymore. I'm going to fire read. You can watch me if you want." I went to a cluster of trees, chopped one down, then planted the saplings that came from it. I made a crafting table after transforming the logs into planks and made sticks. That made an empty campfire. I went over to the shore and set down the empty campfire and then brought out my wand.

"Wait, you're a wizard?", they asked.

"Half-born. My mom was a wizard." I lit the campfire with my soulfire. Again, they were surprised.

"What is this fire? I've never seen this before in my life.", Ernest asked.

"Soulfire. It's Nether based. This is the only magic I can do. This is also the only fire I can read, my magical fire." I put my wand away and sat down in front of my fire. Debbie sat next to me and Ernest on her other side. I focused on the fire. 'Is Ianite safe?' was my mantra, but the fire didn't grow like it does. Instead, I had a vision. I saw Ianite travelling. Then I saw Wot following her from a distance. No... he's not going to get her. I won't let him. The vision ended, then I stood up and extinguished the fire. "I need to go. Ianite's in trouble. Good thing I can sense her presence, and the Darkness'. Thank you so much for taking care of my wounds Debbie. It was nice meeting you both. Hey, maybe I'll come back with Ianite and she can meet you both." They smiled.

"I would like that.", they said. I nodded, gathered all my things, equipped my Elytra and fireworks, and I headed off. I followed my presence sensing, in search of Ianite, in hopes I got to her in time.

"Hold on Ianite, I'm coming."
