Trails of bodies drained of blood and some rumors about a brunette-haired girl led Klaus to Los Vegas.
Klaus scoffed at the thought that Elena was behind this, perhaps it had been Katerina testing her luck.
Either way, he was determined to find out on his own and since none of his witches were able to track Elena down this was his only lead on her.
He had spent days searching for her, threatening others to find her, and yet there was nothing. He was beginning to assume the rumors were false until he overheard a conversation.
"We were about to make out and she just left! I didn't even get her number!" The blonde-haired guy complained.
"You sure she wasn't trying to get away from you?" The black-haired girl quipped.
The blonde-haired guy gave his friend an annoyed look before he brushed it off.
"I just hope she will be there tonight." He sighed.
"Ah yes, the beautiful brunette… did you even get her name yet?" She asked, with a small laugh.
"Her name is Elena." He breathed her name as if she was a goddess.
Klaus paused and turned all his attention to that conversation.
"I still don't see why you like her, she seems so…" the girl paused, trying to find the right words.
"Free? Playful? Sexy?" He offered up, receiving a scoff from the other girl.
"Cruel." The girl corrected.
"She is not cruel-" he started but was cut off.
"Whatever you say… I'll see you tomorrow." The girl said walking off.
One minute the boy was walking alone, the next he was being held against a brick wall in a dark alleyway.
"Who- who are you?" The boy asked.
"Tell me everything you know about Elena." Klaus compelled.
"You're wasting your time, I won't tell you anything about her… you're probably the creep that she's running from." The boy spat.
Klaus paused before realizing the boy probably had vervain in his system. His grip got tighter on the boy's neck as he leaned in closer to the boy.
"Perhaps I should kill the girl you were walking with mere seconds ago, surely that will get you talking." Klaus threatened.
"I'll tell you anything you want to know, just please… Please don't hurt her" the boy pleaded desperately.
Klaus smirked at the boy, before loosening his grip on the boy's neck.
"Well then, do go on." Klaus said cheekily.
"I- I first saw her a few days ago at a club. I've only talked to her a few times, but the conversation never lasts long. She goes there almost every night, but I never see her in the daytime. It's like she disappears, which is hard for someone as stunning as she is." The boy informs with a nervous chuckle.
"Club?" Klaus asked.
Elena didn't strike him as a girl who loved parties, let alone clubs.
"I'll- I'll show you." The boy said, relieved when Klaus finally released him from the brick wall.
—————————-
The boy came to a stop as they approached the club.
"That's the one." The boy informed, looking at the club.
The boy slowly turned around when he didn't get a response. He let out a sigh and stared at the moon when he realized he was alone.
—————————-
Klaus walked into the club, feeling the slight vibration of the floor that had been caused by the blasting music. The club was filled with the smell of desire, alcohol, and a faint scent of blood.
Klaus's eyes quickly found a brunette girl in the middle of the room dancing. The flashing lights didn't prevent him from seeing Elena feeding on a boy with brown hair. Just as he thought she was about to kill him, she dropped the body and started dancing as if she didn't have a care in the world.
He briefly wondered if she had always been this way.
He sincerely doubted it.
It felt as if time had stopped when her eyes met his.
Her eyes lingered on his before they quickly returned to the group of boys in front of her. Klaus couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as she danced and flirted with the boys in front of her.
Without thinking Klaus approached her, completely ignoring the hot sweaty bodies bumping against him as they danced.
"Hello, love." Klaus said as Elena turned to face him.
"Klaus." Elena greeted, sounding a bit annoyed.
"And here I thought you would be frightened." Klaus confessed in an attempt to figure her out.
Something was different about Elena, but what was it?
"There is no reason for me to be frightened by you, Klaus... You wanna know why?" Elena asked as she began to lean in.
"There is absolutely nothing more you can do to me." Elena whispered as she playfully bit his ear.
Klaus paused and pulled her off of him as he looked into her eyes.
There was no mistaking the lust that filled her eyes.
"Careful love you're playing with fire."
"Luckily for you, I don't mind getting burned." Elena confessed as she kissed Klaus.
Her lips were softer than they had been months ago, her mouth tasted of blood and alcohol. Klaus lost his train of thought as her hands slid down his back and made its way towards his member.
Unfortunately, before he could get anything out of the encounter he fell down in pain. No doubt the work of a witch.
An extremely powerful witch.
He looked up at Elena, only to see a smirk appear on her face. She leaned down to his level before speaking.
"Consider this the beginning of my revenge." Elena whispered.
Klaus watched her as she sped out of the club with a boy, no doubt the boy was her witch.
He was sure that Elena had turned off her humanity, that was the only explanation for her weird behavior.
—————————-
Elena stopped and put the boy down.
"Are you okay?" The boy asked as he gently touched Elena's face.
"That's not going to work Liam." Elena informed.
"I know, I'm just worried about you Elena." Liam sighed.
"You're wasting your time." Elena warned.
Liam searched her eyes for any emotion before sighing.
"Where are we going next?" Liam asked.
"I think it's time to wake up a certain vampire hunter, don't you?" Elena announced with a devious smirk.
"And you're sure this is a good…" Liam stopped as he saw something in the distance.
"What's that?" Elena asked, raising an eyebrow.
"What? Oh, nothing... I thought I saw-"
Suddenly blood was spewing out of Liam's neck while his head was on the cold ground. Elena looked up to see a very furious Klaus.
Before Elena could comprehend what was going on Klaus's neck was snapped and vervain was being injected into her.
As she was quickly fading, she only saw a glimpse of who the attacker was.
