Elijah's lips hovered an inch above Elena's, both of them were completely and utterly lost in each other. When Elijah was about to lean in Elena collapsed, falling face forward into Elijah. Elijah quickly catches Elena and lays her on the couch before pacing back and forth. He was sure that Esther had caused this.

A knock at the door interrupted his thinking. Since he couldn't track down Jeremy he had no idea who could possibly be at the door. Elijah approached the door cautiously before opening it.

He was not surprised when he found an angry Klaus on the other side of the door.

"Klaus, what an unexpected surprise." Elijah sighs.

"Where is she?" Klaus growls.

"I'm afraid I do not know who you are talking about." Elijah says as he begins to close the door only to be stopped by Klaus.

Klaus pushes the door open and storms into the house. He falters when he sees Elena laid out on the couch. Klaus couldn't take his eyes off of her, not that he wanted to.

Elijah quickly stepped in front of Klaus clearing his throat, successfully blocking Klaus's view of Elena.

"Is her humanity still off?" Klaus asked.

"No." Elijah answered truthfully.

"Good, I want her to be scared of what I'm about to do to her." Klaus said harshly.

Although Klaus refused to admit it, he knew he could never truly bring himself to hurt the girl.

"Haven't you done enough to her?" Elijah spat.

Klaus looked taken back by Elijah's tone.

"Clearly I haven't done enough, it's obvious she hasn't learned her lesson!" Klaus yelled.

"Klaus!" Elijah growled.

"She was going to go and wake Mikael for god sake!" Klaus snapped.

"Can you blame her? You put her through hell!" Elijah yelled abrasively.

"She was perfectly happy." Klaus argued.

"Happy? When was she happy? When you killed her Aunt? Or perhaps it was when you caused her to kill her unborn child?" Elijah said curtly, only pausing when he realized what he had just said.

Elena had trusted him with something so important, and now he had just betrayed her trust.

"I did not kill her aunt, and Elena was never pregnant." Klaus said sternly.

"You're wrong Niklaus, Elena was pregnant with your child." Elijah sighed, it was no use in hiding this information now.

Klaus paused, completely in shock.

"No, that's impossible. Vampires can not procreate." Klaus said thoughtfully.

"Maybe with doppelgangers? They are nature's loophole after all." Elijah guessed.

"Even if it were true, I would've noticed its presence." Klaus said certainly.

"Are you sure?" Elijah asked, fearing what this could mean.

"It would be impossible to not hear two heartbeats." Klaus informed.

"I believe we have a problem." Elijah admits with a sigh.

Elena groans as her eyes slowly begin to open. Elijah immediately rushes to her side, forgetting Klaus's presence in the process.

"Elijah?" Elena muttered as her vision began to clear.

"Elena, are you okay? What happened? Is this Esther's doing?" Elijah asks.

Klaus narrows his eyes at the mention of Esther's name, he silently wonders why Elijah seemed so worried.

"I'm..." Elena paused as her eyes landed on the last person she wanted to see.

"What is he doing here?" Elena growled.

"Searching for you, only to find out you've accused me of-" Klaus began only to be interrupted.

"Niklaus, that's quite enough." Elijah said strictly.

"What is he talking about Elijah?" Elena asked, clearly confused.

Elijah looked down at Elena giving her a sorrowful frown.

"Elijah?" Elena asked again.

"I… I told him about the baby. It was an accident, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that I betrayed your trust. Im sorry." Elijah confessed.

Elena closed her eyes and took a deep breath in, trying to calm herself down.

"You're right, it doesn't excuse the fact that you betrayed my trust." Elena calmly stood up and stormed out of the room, but not before she hit Elijah across the face.

She immediately regretted her actions but it was a far lesser punishment than Esther's. Elena sat on her bed and toyed with the small purple bracelet on her wrist. A gift from Liam, a man who had a kind soul. A man she hoped was looking down watching as she had planned the death of his killer.

A knock at the door interrupted her thoughts. When she didn't answer her door Klaus opened it and walked right in.

"Elijah filled me in on everything." He said, taking a seat on her bed.

Elena ignored him and continued to toy with her bracelet.

"He seems to believe that Esther tricked you into believing you were pregnant." Klaus informs.

Elena pauses what she's doing to look at him.

"Are you implying that I was never pregnant?" Elena asks, her tone dropping to a threatening level.

"Yes." Klaus answered, he was surprised she was taking this so well.

Elena scoffed and stood up. Klaus grabbed her arm before she could walk away.

"Think about it Elena. Vampires can't procreate." Klaus reasoned.

"That doesn't mean anything." Elena said, trying to yank her arm out of his grip.

"You were constantly surrounded by vampires and yet none of us heard a heartbeat." Klaus added.

Elena paused, he had been right. Tears filled her eyes as she realized he had been telling the truth. She had been mourning a baby that hadn't even existed. Esther had played her like she was a fool, similar to how Elena was now playing Esther.

Before she learned this information she planned to help Esther in her plan while keeping Elijah and his other siblings that she had yet to meet out of harm's way, but now…

Now she would make Esther pay dearly for the damage she has caused.
