The next day, William eats some more Old Gateau when he looks at a bench in the courtyard. "In loving memory of Tiny and Brian. Who is that?" Allison walks to the gate on her way to Starlight Coins with Ash and Dawn. "What do you want, and are you okay?" Allison asks. "I am wondering about Tiny and Brian." "They died in their sleep." "Weird. I know that XANA attacks can lead to that. Like Staple, Keeys, and Jack Slate," Allison stays quiet. "It is? What happened?" "William, it was a few months ago." "I heard a school dance was postponed because of their deaths." William holds his head. "Is it a XANA attack?" Allison asks. William sees himself with the man that planted the bombs at the factory. He is laughing. "I did something!" William said. "I did it!" "William, relax," Allison said. "You're not telling me that it is not true!" Allison hugs William, but he pushes her sway and runs. "I think we fucked up!" Allison said.
An hour later, Allison, Ash, and Dawn walk down the dorm hallway with their orders from Starlight Coins. Allison tells her friends that William is starting to remember the night of the Battle of the DJs dance. "Dies he remember his roll?" Ash asks. "I don't know. He saw Tiny and Brian's memorial bench and started asking questions." "What did you say?" Dawn asks. "I tried to calm him down, but he called my bluff."Dawn shakes her head; then she falls to the ground. "Hey!" Three first-year students stole their drink orders. "Ooh! The upper-level students snuck off campus," Melissa teases. "Can you give it back?" Ash asks. "No!" Steve said. "Or, we'll take it back!" Dawn demands. "Aah! High schoolers are bullying us," Melissa teases. "What do you want?" Allison asks. "Beat me in sock skating," Johnson said. "Fine Ash said as he took off his sneakers. "Not you, her!" Johnson points to Allison. "Me? I don't like that!" Allison said. "Which is why I want to beat you! Or we'll tell Jim that you three snuck off campus!" "Fine!" Steve places cones at the edge of the hallway. Johnson runs and slides down the hallway. "Ten meters. Beat that!" Johnson shouts. Allison takes off her sneakers. "Bad day to wear a skirt!" Melissa teases. Allison takes some steps back and runs and slides. She slides so fast that she takes the drink tray from Steve while Ash and Dawn take Melissa's trays. Allison skates fifteen meters. "Better luck next time, fresh meat!" Allison said with a smirk as she took her sneakers, and the trio ran to the other side of the building. "Where's the fire?" Ulrich asks. The group meets in Ulrich and Odd's room. "Well, some annoying first-year students tried to steal our orders," Dawn said. "As long as I get my drink, I don't care," Yumi said. "Well, Allison beat them in sock skating," Ash said. "Great," Odd said as he sipped his complicated drink. "However, they are going to rat us out to Jim in about twenty seconds, so we need to hide the drinks," Allison said. Moments later, "Adams! Jones! Ketchum! I know you're in there with your friends!" Jim shouts. The teens hide their drinks, and Allison takes out a stash of croissants. "Mr. Moralas," Allison said with glee. "I was told that you have some illegal contraband!" "All we have are some yummy croissants." Allison has a basket of almonds, chocolate, plain, and one ham & cheese. "Hmm. Well, you all are too young for heart problems so I will take the ham & cheese croissant," Jim said, "Sure, enjoy!" Allison said. After Jim leaves, Allison sits on the floor. "That was close." "How did you know he would take the ham & cheese?" Brock asks as he drinks his Dragonite aquí strawberry cooler. "Have you seen Jim eat? He loves ham & cheese croissants." "We know. Yumi asks. "He wouldn't tell me." "We have to tell him what he did," Aelita said.
William sits by the lake and starts to have memory flashes. XANA-William turned up the pressure in the gym's basement. Later XANA activated a tower during the explosion. It Possessed a man tampering with the basement to make it look like a malfunction. XANA-William knocked the man out and dragged him back to campus beforehand. "What the hell did I do?" William tries to remember more. There was an explosion. The Lyoko Warriors went flying across the field. William laughs as Jeremy's laptop shows the tower activated and then deactivated. William speaks: Rest in peace bitches! The Lyoko Warriors lie motionless in the middle of the field while the students lie dormant inside. There is smoke and mini fires all around. William laughs. I need to see my work completed, he says. William stands up. "I need to speak to my friends," William said. Or so you think! "Aah! Leave me alone!" William screams. Back in the dorms, Jeremy thinks. "What are you thinking about?" Brock asks. "What to tell William," Jeremy said. "The truth." "It is not that simple." "It is. he needs to know. If we don't tell him, XANA might take advantage of this, and he will find out the hard way. We have to be honest with him." Odd speaks up. "What is so hard about this? He was told about Jeremy's coma." "No, he wasn't it," Aelita points out. "Yes, he was. He was reflecting about that when we went to the historic neighborhood." "Well, no one told him." Odd face palms himself. "Shit. he must have been fishing for information." "Now, we have to tell him everything!" William enters the room. "What did I do to Tiny and Brian?" William asks. "Hold on," Jeremy starts. "Don't fuck with me, Jeremy!" "Close the door, and we'll tell you," Yumi said before William closed the door; Ash J, Moxie, and Rocky entered. "Where is it?" Ash J asks. "Here," Rocky said as he grabbed a drink. "This one is for William. These three are ours." "What did I get?" William asks. "Double cookie mocha crunch with three pumps of vanilla chai." "Trying to soften me up." "What is going on? We have a big game soon," Moxie said. "With?" "William, where have you been? It is with Kélvin Tech. My brother goes to the school," Ash J said. "He told me we need to act like we don't know him," Allison said. "I will give him a big hug!" The wombmates laugh as Ash J and his friends leave and close the door. "I forgot about the game," Jeremy said. "Which you need to go to. You promise," Ulrich said. "Back to me!" William commands. The group explains everything to William. The explosion, the injured, the attacks at the hospital, everything. William is at a loss for words. He gets up. "William," Dawn said. "I need air!" William takes his drink and leaves. "That was pleasant," Jeremy says sardonically. "Now, he doesn't trust us. What a twist," Yumi said. William sits in his room and screams. "I can't believe that. XANA made me do that! Now, I am more determined to end XANA!"
That afternoon, the soccer field lights are on, and students from both schools are taken their seats. Allison runs to her brother and kisses him. "Hi, Gary!" "I thought I told you," Gary starts. "You missed your little sister." "You are still dating Ash, right?" "Gary, move the fuck on. Do you think I still remember what you did? I do." Gary rolls his eyes as Ash J hugs his brother. "Missed me?" "You too?" Gary moans. "Twin sandwich!" Ash J and Allison said. Iris and Jackson sit next to Jeremy and Aelita. "I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights!" Jackson sings. "Please, stop!" Iris said. Aelita laughs. "You are embarrassing us in front of the competition." "He is on key," Jeremy teases. The game starts, and Gary and Ulrich are captains of their respective schools' teams. The game is tied, and the cheerleaders from both schools have a cheer-off. William arrives and sits next to Jeremy. "William?" Jeremy gasps. "I don't know how to feel about the secrets, but I am not backing down from my goal and dealing with XANA," William said. Jeremy nods his head. As Allison is being placed on a male student's shoulders, she sees the field lights start to flicker. Then the male student tugs her skirt. "Do you see that, Lampent?" Taylor asks. She looks about and sees six of the Pokemon. "Get me down," Allison said. "What is going on?" Sissi asks. "Is someone about to die?" Taylor asks. "Why would you ask that?" "Lampent tend to hang around someone who is about to 'go' if you know what I mean," Gary said. William and Aelita hold their heads. "These seem stronger," Aelita said. "Whatever XANA has planned, we need to get ready," William said. Then a Chandelure appears and looks enormous. It uses Shadow Ball and attacks the students. "A tower in the Cortex," Jeremy announced.
The Mega Chandelure launches numerous Shadow Balls on the field. The Lampent make a chain and attack using Confuse Ray. The Mega Chandelure attacks using Night Shade. "We need to move out of the way," Gary said. Jim and the referee move all of the students to the library. "We need to get to the factory," William said. "Ash, Brock, Yumi, and Ulrich are going to stay," Dawn said. "Do you want to stay, Allison?" Jeremy asks. "No. My wombmate and older brother can take care of themselves. I am better suited for Lyoko," Allison. "Okay, let's go!" Odd said. As the group goes to the factory, Ulrich talks to the others. "What could XANA's attack be?" "We don't know. I don't think the supersize Chandelure is possessed," Brock said. "For now, we must keep everyone safe," Yumi said. "Especially since both Pokemon do come when someone is about to die," Ash states. "Not all the time, but we need to cover our bases." They all agree. Gary looks outside and sees the battle progress. "It looks like a battle of control." "Control?" Ash J asks. "Yeah. They are not attacking students but each other. A power struggle." Ash J looks at the window and sees a few Lampent faints. "They are losing." A Shadow Ball heads towards the library, and Gary calls out his Blastoise. "Use Bubble," Gary commands. Bubble creates a barrier to counter the Shadow Ball. "We can do that. Create shields," Ash said. "Pikachu," Ash calls out. "Use Electro Web!" The web covers the building. Chandelure uses Ember, and a few sparks head towards the building. "Gardevior, use Psychic," Ulrich commands. Gardevior stops the flames and puts them in the drinking fountain. "Vivillon, use Gust but slowly," Yumi commands. The gust moves the Pokemon away from the library, but Chandelure catches on and uses Astonish on Vilvillon, but Blissey pushes back. "Use, Egg Bomb," Brock commands. Egg Bomb sends Chandelure flying. One of the Lampent takes this time to use Hex on Chandelure. After a while, nothing happens. "Watch out!" Ash J yells as he calls out his Theivul. "Use Protect!" Chandelure gets up and launches Shadow Balls at everything, trying to get to Lampent. "Inside," Jim orders.
The other half of the group arrives at the Cortex. Jeremy spots some monsters near the tower and the core. "There are several earthquakes near the tower and monsters near both the tower and core. "Why are monsters guarding the core entrance?" Dawn asks. "I don't know, but it might be a trap," Odd said. "Maybe, but we have enough Warriors to do both," Aelita said. "Do what?" "Deactivate the tower and get information from the core," William said. "We can do that. Dawn and I can cover William as Aelita and Odd head for the core," Allison said. "What about the ninjas?" Odd asks. "if we see any, we'll leave," Aelita said. "Sounds like a plan," William said. When the Warriors arrive on the ground, they see a mega pod. "It can hold as many seats as needed, and it can handle the unstable nature of the Cortex," Jeremy said. "How long was this sitting in the garage?" Odd asks. "Before we were hacked, I was working on it. It is ready to go." "I wanna drive," Odd said. "Let him. We don't need a war," William teases. The Warriors are teleported into the mega pod. "It looks like an IMAX theatre," Dawn said. Odd starts driving the mega pod, and they felt every bump on the road. "Ouch!" Aelita said. "Sorry, Jeremy should have added airbags," Odd said. Jeremy laughs. Odd drops William, Allison, and Dawn off and heads for the core with Aelita. The trio battles hornets and creepers. "Creepers? I haven't seen these fellas in months," William said. "That, my friend is a good thing," Dawn said. Allison makes a plasma stick and stabs a creeper in the eye. Dawn throws both of her poi sticks and hits two hornets. William goes toe to toe with a creeper. He starts to flashback to his first Battle on Sector Five. Come, my child. Their deaths are only the beginning. William falls back and starts to panic. He drops his sword. He sees the creeper standing over him and uses his super-smoke to escape. He takes back his weapon and stabs the creeper. "I am not a prisoner of my mind!" Over at the core, Aelita looks around the core and sees information about her mother. "She works for him," Aelita said. "Did she know him beforehand?" Odd asks. "I don't know. But, Professor Tyron has been getting information about my father straight from the source." "Your mom?" Jeremy asks. "No. Maybe from old archives from Project Cathrage or something? Everything is related to XANA and the Supercomputer." "The Supercomputer? Ours?" Jeremy asks. "Yeah. I mean, he is getting information from someone on campus. They are tracking us right now. Here is the information," Aelita said as she sends Jeremy the information. "I can't tell who it is, but I can send them something." "What?" Odd asks. "Remember when the jellyfish was drilling into the skid?" "I do. You implanted a virus into it," Odd said. "I am going to do the same thing," Jeremy says with a smile. Jeremy sends Laura the virus, and she curses. "Fucking shit!" She screams. "Laura!" Jim shouts. 'Sorry. I got a computer virus!" Ulrich smiles. "Well, Norton has low prices." When Aelita and Odd exit the core, William, Allison, and Dawn await them. "The tower is done," William said. Over at Kadic, the Lampent challenging the Chandelure defeats it and the other Lampent "gather" it. The winning Lampent evolves and leads the pack away.
After that, the game continues, and it is a draw. Both schools have a feast and talk about the Pokemon brawl. "I don't think the Chandelure was possessed," Yumi said. "The battle on the Cortex was easy," Dawn said. "Plus, Jeremy was able to plant a virus on the student spy," Odd said. "Based on the information Aelita sent?" Ash asks. "Yeah." "Weird, Laura screamed bloody murder about a computer virus," Ulrich said. "Do you think?" Brock asks. "She made a few comments about Odd's film and something that happened during a XANA attack," William said. "She commented on the Pokemon Lab attack. I saw her take a picture, and sometimes pictures can be kept, right?" "Right," Jeremy said. "We may have suspect," Aelita said. "As a bonus, we are going to the Volcano Replica," Jeremy said. The group cheers as Laura looks on. "The Pokemon Brawl was a battle of control. But am I missing something?" Laura asks herself. Gary walks over and hugs his sister. "You stink!" Allison shouts. "Awe. I love you too!" Gray teases as the group laughs.
Laura is missing something, and the walls are closing in. The Warriors are heading to XANA's true home. What would they find, and will it lead to defeating XANA? Anthe calls Daphne one more time. "Please. I need your help," Anthea said. Daphne sits at her desk. "I still don't believe that you are my sister!" "I am. I sent a letter with Aelita when Waldo sent her to mom and dad." Daphne is confused. "Okay." "I need to help me escape. I am in Switzerland, and I want to come home." Before the conversation continued, the line went dead. Anthea is knocked out, and the phone is left in her pocket. "Stupid bitch!" Tyron shouts. "Anthea," Daphne calls out.
