Chapter 27
The next morning after my bandages were changed, I went to sit on the loveseat. After a time of thinking about yesterday,
"Ianite, Olivinite and Oakinite said something about you luring us all into their trap? What are they talking about? You did nothing of the sort. You weren't even there. You didn't place those journals. You're not evil... unless you did place the journals but didn't know they were going to be there. That's the only way." Ianite took a deep breath.
"I didn't know they were going to be there. I was surprised when Sparklez told me they showed up. Yes, I did place those journals. I wanted the guys to know, but I wasn't ready to tell them. I figured that if they saw my journals, they could get a clue as to what happened in the past, and it is giving me time to think of what to tell them once I can bear to face them."
"I understand," was all I could say. She smiled a small, grateful smile at me. We hung out on the loveseat for a while. Eventually,
"Lucky, could I have today to myself?"
"Of course my love. I can hang out with the guys today."
"The guys aren't around. Though my brothers are around. They might not mind hanging out with the Apprentice Priestess today." I grinned.
"Oooo, hanging out with Mianite and Dianite. Things should get interesting." She giggled.
"That they should. I'll let Mianite know." She telepathically communicated to Mianite briefly. We stood, I embraced her, and gave her a quick kiss. I was then teleported to Mianite, who was with Dianite on Adventure Island at the campfire. Jeez... Dianite's skin isn't looking so good.
"So, what's on the agenda for today?" I asked, putting my concern aside. I'm sure Dianite's trying to get whatever is happening under control as best as he can.
"Finishing the main building here on this island. It needs to be done. It's been put off for a while now," Mianite explained. I nodded.
"Oh, and Lucky, you can fly while building. You never needed it until now. Just use the command /fly and you will have fly mode enabled. The same command is also used to turn it off when you're done helping us." I nodded again. I used the command and tested out the flying without Elytra. Dude, I'm floating! So this is what it's like for the gods. They always float whenever they watch over us. I moved forward. Whoa... this is so different... I went up to the top of the building as did Mianite and Dianite. As we landed, Mianite gave me some blocks and showed me what he wanted for the building. I grinned and got working. We did very well for the first few hours. But, Dianite being Dianite, he ended up being the Chaotic being that he is.
"Dianite... come on, let's be serious..." Mianite chided. Dianite grinned. Mianite sighed and shook his head. Things went back to normal, but it didn't stay normal for very long.
"Dianite! Focus! You're slowing the process. Lucky is behaving very well. Be like Lucky, will you?" I grinned at Dianite smugly.
"I'm trying to make things interesting though. This is so boring... Hey, how about we make this a contest? If Mianite wins, I won't do any pranks for a whole week, if I win, Mianite, you must order Karl to let Tom prank him without consequence for a week. If Lucky wins, we won't have any conflict for a week. If we break the peace, Ianite will be allowed to smite us... as much as I don't like that idea... so let's not break the peace if Lucky wins."
"No."
"Oh come on Mianite, why you gotta be an egg?" I snickered. An egg?
"I'm not an egg. I just want to get this done," Mianite said firmly.
"I mean, understandable, but can't we do something to make this a little more fun? If it's a little more fun, the time would pass quicker, and, if we make it a contest, the building will go much quicker. Like, we could see who does how much work to declare the winner," I suggested.
"See? Lucky gets it." Mianite sighed exasperatedly.
"It seems I'm outnumbered... fine. We'll go with your little game. Just... make sure you make the building nice looking. Go with the blueprint."
"We will, don't worry your little egg head. Ok, ready? Go!" Oh, the race was on. I was actually really into this competition. Mianite was super annoyed, I felt it in his presence. I chuckled to myself. During the competition, I caught Dianite cheating.
"Yo, Dianite, quit cheating, you pumpkin head."
"Pumpkin head? Hey now! I'm not a pumpkin head."
"You are if you cheat. So if you don't want to be called a pumpkin head, then don't cheat." He rolled his eyes at me. He didn't cheat, for a while. Then I caught him again. "Pumpkin head, I said stop. You're not gonna win if you keep doing this. Cheaters never prosper."
"Yeah they do, if they don't get caught."
"And you've been caught twice!"
"So? One of these times you won't catch me."
"'One of these times' huh? So you're admitting you're cheating and will continue to cheat until you win."
"Did I say that? I didn't say that." I narrowed my eyes at him. He just grinned. I sighed and went back to what I was doing. I could also feel Mianite's annoyance grow more and more with every passing moment. Especially when I catch Dianite cheating. We went a while before I caught Dianite cheating again. I took a deep breath very loudly.
"Dianite! I've just about had it up to here with your cheating antics, and I'm pretty damn sure Mianite has as well. I can feel it in his presence. You're going to be automatically disqualified if I catch you one more time. You were the one with this idea, so it's not going to be fun for you if you get disqualified. So behave," I lectured. Mianite grinned as he continued on working. He found my lecturing Dianite amusing.
"Well, you're no fun anymore."
"Well, suck it up. Mianite and I won't take any shenanigans and you cheating is shenanigans. Do the competition right and you won't have to listen to me lecture you."
"Ok, 'Mom'," he teased. Wow. So that's how it is, huh? Ok, we can play this game. I stopped where I was and put both hands on my hips, facing Dianite with a very stern look. Mianite stopped what he was doing as well to watch. Dianite had also stopped, I can feel that he's nervous now.
"'Mom' huh? Well, if you think so, I can be 'Mom'. Here, how's this? If you don't stop your cheating, we can stop right here, right now and Mianite can have Sparky, Karl, and Dec help him finish this building. I know they'll behave for Mianite and the four of them could get this done in no time. I'll tell them myself the next time they're around that they have a new task and why they have this task and why it wasn't done already, like it was supposed to have been. What say you, Mianite?"
"Sounds good to me Lucky." I looked back at Dianite.
"Well?" He was definitely timid and very tentative now, I could feel his hesitation in wanting to answer me. I definitely gave him something to think about.
"I don't want that to happen... I do want to continue building with you and Mianite. Alright, I'll stop cheating." After that, he did keep to his word. When the whole thing was finished, it was Mianite who won. Honestly, I'm not surprised.
"Good work Mianite, Dianite. Congrats, Mianite, on winning. Dianite... you'll keep your word, won't you?" He nodded. He definitely has a whole lot more respect for me after my 'mom' show. Mianite does as well, I can feel it. I shook both of their hands and they disappeared. I used the /fly command to disable flying and sighed, sitting on the roof. A couple minutes passed, then,
'Lucky, are you ready to come home?'
'Yeah, I suppose.'
'What's wrong?'
'Nothing, I'll tell you everything when I get back. This is something that'll need to be said in person.' I was met with silence as I stood, readying myself to be teleported, then I was teleported home. I lightly flopped onto the loveseat. Today was definitely draining.
"You seem exhausted my champion. Would you like some water?"
"Please?" Ianite went to the sink and got a glass of water and handed it to me, sitting next to me. I drank a good amount. That felt really good. "Thank you. Today was taxing. Dianite is mainly the reason." I delved into the details of how today went and how Dianite behaved. I also told her how I handled it and she was very impressed.
"Very well done Lucky. I'm very proud of you. Keep this up and you'll be Head Priestess in no time."
"I really hope so. I need to be so that we can reign in the Darkness and bring Gandus to justice, once and for all."
"I know, but one step at a time, huh?" I smiled and nodded. I finished my water, took care of the glass, and when Ianite took off my patches, all my wounds were healed. "Hey, no more patches. Let's see your shoulder wound." She unwrapped my bandages for my shoulder and checked the back of my shoulder. "Yup, this is closed now. You'll only need to have a patch in the front. Lucky, this is great news!"
"Yes! Dude, oh my gosh! Finallyyyyyy..." I whined 'finally'. It felt like forever and now I only need the patch on the front, which the front of my shoulder is definitely getting smaller, but it definitely still needs to be cleaned and patched up. This means though that I don't need whole freakin' torso bandaged up, I can move better than I could. I can also not worry about making my shoulder bleed again when I sit up by myself. Man, it's gonna feel amazing when I can move normally. Ianite cleaned and patched the front of my shoulder. She took care of the stuff and I followed her. "Can we sit on the hill and watch the sunset?"
"Of course." We walked to the top of the hill and sat down. This is reminiscent of the second time I came here, when we first started dating. Right down to Ianite laying her head on my shoulder.
"How was your day alone, my love?"
"Very refreshing. I was able to think through some things and I think soon I'll be able to tell at least Sparklez everything and ask for his forgiveness."
"Good, I'm glad you were able clear some things up." She smiled at me. We sat cuddled together until it got dark. As the moon came further up behind us and the sun dipped further down below the horizon, we stood up and went into the house, parting ways at my room. I went to sleep fairly easily. I was ready for tomorrow, or so I thought...
