"What are we doing in Utah?" Rebekah groans.
A chuckle was the only response Rebekah received.
"What's so funny Kol?" Rebekah asked.
"They're taking us to meet their lover," Kol says, wiggling his eyebrows.
Rebekah pauses as her eyes go from Klaus to Elijah.
"Is that true?" Rebekah questions.
They both stay quiet as Klaus taps his finger on the steering wheel.
"Bloody hell!" Rebekah groans.
After what seemed like hours they finally pulled in front of a 2-story colonial brick house.
"Something's wrong,"
Klaus quickly gets out of the car and walks towards the door.
"Stay here," Elijah instructed before he followed Klaus.
Kol and Rebekah both look at each other making a silent agreement.
Elijah step's falter as he enters the house.
Elena was frozen in place, fangs out, but unwilling to move.
It looked as if she was watching, waiting, to see what they would do.
Out of the corner of Elijah's eye, he could see Niklaus slowly approaching her.
The blonde-haired nurse whimpers, as she makes futile attempts to escape.
Elena held the nurse in a tight grip, one hand on her shoulder and the other pulling her hair. The nurse was making the situation worse than it already was.
Elena was delirious and hungry, which was a bad combination for any vampire.
"Just a taste," Elena mumbled, leaning closer to the nurse's neck.
"Elena, you don't want to do this," Klaus spoke in a soft tone, noticing that every time he got closer Elena's grip tightened on the girl.
Elena's movements falter for a moment, her eyes going to Klaus then to Elijah, before pushing the nurse away.
As the nurse begins to run away, Klaus quickly intervenes and compels her to forget.
Elijah catches the nod Klaus threw his way. It was Klaus's way of telling Elijah to go to Elena.
Elena was turned around, facing the wall.
"Elena," Elijah's voice was calm and collected as he turned Elena to face him.
"You left me here and I almost killed her,"
Elijah grimaced at his actions.
"Elena I-"
"You've got to be bloody kidding me! You drag us along in a car for four hours just for her!" Rebekah yelled.
"Three hours, Bekah," Kol says, receiving a scowl from Rebekah.
"I thought Elijah told you to stay in the car," Klaus grumbled.
"And here I thought you two were smarter than to get wrapped up with Katherine again," Rebekah says judgingly.
"I'm not Katherine,"
"Then who the hell are you?" Rebekah asks.
"Her name is Elena," Elijah says, stepping in front of her.
"The newest doppelganger, who unfortunately killed herself before I could break my curse,"
Elena quickly hid her face, not wanting anyone to see the pain that flashed in her eyes.
Perhaps it was for the best.
She couldn't allow herself to catch feelings for Klaus, not when she loves Elijah the way she does.
"Sounds like I like her already," Kol says as he glares at Klaus.
"Not you too Kol," Rebekah complained.
"Rebekah, Kol, go wait outside,"
"Fine Elijah, I'll go." Rebekah complied, walking out of the house.
"I suggest you go with her unless you want another dagger in you," Klaus threatened.
"You and your daggers," Kol scoffs as he walks off.
"Those two, are they..?"
"Our siblings? Yes," Klaus answers.
"Why'd you come back for me?"
Elijah began to talk, but Elena quickly cut him off.
"You thought that I wasn't strong enough to face Esther, so why come back for me?"
"Elena, I-"
"You know what, I don't want to know. It doesn't matter. Klaus, what's the plan?"
"We're going to Mystic Falls," Klaus tells her as he walks out of the house.
Elena quickly follows behind him.
"What? Why?"
"Because that's where Esther is,"
