A/N: fluff warning
Chapter 47
We appeared on the hill. I sat, sitting her down with me and held her to me. "You never need to worry Ianite. I'll bring the peace back, no matter what it takes."
"Nix, don't say that. It sounds like you'll die to bring back the peace... don't die. We just met again after you died the first time..."
"Love, I'd do anything for you, even if it meant sacrificing myself for you. I'm sure I'd be reincarnated again. Maybe reincarnated me and you would meet sooner and without any dangers in the world and you could have a normal life together."
"But this is our normal. Your past self and I had to fight together, now in the present time, we need to fight together again." I shook my head.
"You don't have to fight again. Never again. I'll fight for you. I'll fight two times as hard. I'll win that Olympics. I'll gain the power of the Stones. You'll never have to feel that turmoil in your soul again."
"Nix, you're glowing." I looked at myself. So I was. Maybe it was my passion showing itself?
"I'm passionate, and not just about defeating the Darkness and bringing back the peace in your soul. I'm passionate about you. My love, my life." She looked up at me. I had a loving look on my face. I really do love her, so much. Another reason I'm so antsy about the Olympics? Remember when I bought the engagement ring? Remember that I want to propose to her after the Olympics? Yeah, that's another reason I want the Olympics to come soon.
"You're so amazing, Nix. You've got so much love, for me mostly, but also you have enough love left over from me to love your friends and sister. It's one of the many things I love about you." She sat on my legs, facing me, both of her legs on each side of me, embracing me. I wrapped my arms around her waist as she continued speaking. "I love how you're so responsible, caring, giving. You have so many more qualities than what Sparklez gave. You're the light of my life, and not just because you have soulfire powers," she joked with that last bit. I chuckled.
"And you're the light of mine. I love you Ia, so, so much." I kissed her with such passion. I wanted to show her how much I loved her. After a moment, I broke the kiss.
"Remember what I said when we... you know... a couple nights ago? I'm yours."
"And I'm yours too. We're each other's true love, forever and always." She smiled and nodded.
"That we are. Thank you Nix. For making me feel better, for making me forget about my tiredness." I smiled lovingly.
"I'm glad I could make you feel better. Now, how about a good night's sleep, eh?"
"Can't argue with that." We stood up, then I smirked and picked her up, bridal style. She squeaked out of surprise and hung on tight. "Nix!" I laughed.
"Gotcha." She poked her tongue out playfully. I caught her tongue with mine as I gave her another passionate kiss. I made the way to the bedroom and laid her gently on the bed, still kissing her. I knelt over her and leaned on my arms, gently putting my hands on her cheeks. I finally broke the kiss after a bit.
"I thought we were gonna get a good night's sleep?" she asked.
"We will, I just wanted to give you a good night kiss." She raised an eyebrow.
"That was more than just a good night kiss." I chuckled. "You're also still hovering over me, like you're about to take me again." This time I rose my eyebrow.
"Do you want me to? Now that I've introduced you to that amazing feeling." She blushed.
"So soon after the last time? Sure, it was a couple nights ago, but maybe we should let time pass. It could feel so good again after a decent amount of time passes."
"I dunno how that works, so possibly." I gave her a quick kiss this time then got onto my side of the bed, spooning her. "Good night, my love."
"Good night Nix." In the morning, I woke up to an empty bed. That surprised the hell out of me. Usually I'm the one up first. I got up and out of bed. Ianite wasn't in the house, so I went outside and she was sitting in the back, petting the foxes. I smiled gently and sat next to her.
"Morning Phoenix!" A greeted.
"Good morning, little foxes. It's good to see you all again." I pet D and B.
"Can you play today, Phoenix?" D asked.
"I can't. I have to get ready for the war between Darkness' army and us."
"War?" I nodded.
"It's getting to that point. He's building an army and we need to be ready. He's already killed one of the High Wizards for refusing to join his side. The other two are safe. I also need to practice for the Olympics. Being the High Priestess is a very busy life, and being Champion. Also having powers. Oof. Though I've been doing my best."
"You've been doing great, Nix. You're very good at doing your jobs and practicing your powers."
"I'm glad. I want to bring down the Darkness' powers and bring peace back into this world, bring peace back into your presence." Ianite smiled gently.
"I have every bit of faith in you, my Champion." I nodded and stood up.
"Time to practice." I stretched. "Oh, Ianite, could you help me build some dummies so I can practice against them?" Ianite nodded and stood as well and helped me. The foxes watched and when the dummies were ready, they watched me practice archery, sword fighting, and close combat. I worked all day, skipping lunch because I was determined. At dinner time, Ianite and I wished the foxes a good night and went inside the house to make dinner. Ianite teleported Gandus back as I prepped.
"What'cha makin' sis?"
"Caesar salad. I'm gonna put some chicken in after I give Ianite her serving."
"Sounds good." The only thing making it a bit of a wait is the chicken, 'cause it's gotta cook thoroughly. Finally the chicken was done and I gave Ianite her portion first, then added the chicken to the rest and dished up my and Gandus' servings. After dinner, I did up the dishes and we sat in the living room. I'm sitting between Ianite and Gandus.
"Nix, I was thinking all day, watching you train. One thing I remembered and wondered, have you forgotten about your abilities with potions?" Ianite asked.
"No, I just want to practice more combat than potions. Though... I suppose potions would be helpful too. Harming, poison, weakness, slowness. Plus, what is there to practice with potions? Other than trying to make infinite water breathing, so that we don't need to go through the hassle that is trying to make multiple conduits. I already perfected the infinite fire resistance."
"Fair. Still, might be nice to practice your potions. Become the potions master you're destined to be." I gave a slight chuckle.
"I suppose. I'll do potions tomorrow. I can use my brother's brewing stand. Thankfully he still had it around." Gandus and Ianite nodded. We talked a little more, and went off to sleep once it became late enough. Next morning after breakfast, I set up Liam's brewing stand and went at practicing my potions. I was a natural, of course. It was too easy. I quickly became bored. I got to trying to make the infinite water breathing potion. I did the same thing I did with the fire resistance potion, but with pufferfish instead of magma cream. Infinite loop clock, water breathing potions, bam. Easy. I sighed. Gandus took one of the potions.
"Damn, Nix. You really are a potions master."
"You're also getting bored, huh? Isn't there something you could think of to challenge yourself?" I started to think of potential things I could do.
"Wait, I think I could try making better instant health potions. Make them give you more hearts. Same with instant damage, though obviously it'd take away hearts." That gave me some energy and I got brainstorming. I went through some trial and error before coming up with the solution. I made 4 glowstone blocks, 4 redstone blocks, and in the middle, I used a blaze powder. Blaze powder is made to use strength potions, so I figured it could help make a new item to make the instant health and damage potions stronger.
I alternated the glowstone and redstone blocks, not putting the same thing next to one another. It worked! I'm gonna call this new creation... Strengthening Essence. I made the instant health 2 potion, then put in the strengthening essence. It started going! When it was done, I took the potion out. "Gandus, Ianite, take down my health. Take these instant damage potions." I handed them some splash potions of instant damage 1 and 2. They looked concerned. "Just do it, it'll be fine." They hesitated, but eventually threw enough to take me down to half a heart and stay there. I took a drink of the new instant health potion and it brought me back to full hearts! "It worked!"
"For real?! Nix! You're a genius!" Gandus exclaimed. I made splash potions of instant damage with that new ingredient, fully ready to use it on a zombie or other evil mob tonight. The new potions will be named Strengthened Instant Health and Strengthened Instant Damage. I took notes on these new potions. So now I've created 4 new potions total. Wow... I looked out the window and it was starting to get dark. Not surprised. Trying to make new potions would take a while. I went outside with Gandus and Ianite and waited for monsters.
"Nix, if you're waiting for monsters, they won't appear here. Let's go to the Isle of Gathering." Ianite teleported us there. Dec was outside, putting the last of the horse care equipment away. He looked up.
"Hello, you three. What brings you here?" I explained what I did and he was surprised. "You never cease to amaze, Phoenix." I grinned. Once a zombie appeared, I got closer to it and threw the potion. One hit! I pumped my fist in the air triumphantly.
"Yes!" Ianite, Gandus, and Dec all celebrated with me. I looked around and saw a skeleton and a creeper. I went for the skeleton first. Another one hit! Creeper was the same result. "Dude! Dad would be so proud." Gandus nodded. "Heh, even Liam would be, I used his brewing stand to make these potions after all." Gandus grinned, she agreed.
"Well, we really need to get going. We need to sleep the night away now. Good night, Dec," Ianite said. Gandus and I bade Dec a good night as well and we were teleported to our place again. I took care of my potions things and we all went to bed. I can't wait until I tell the others what I accomplished today.
