Chapter 49

"Phoenix?!" Sparky and Gandus helped me sit up.

"Too many presences..." I was holding my head in my hands.

"You need to figure out a way to lessen the effect the presences have on you," Mianite said, coming over to us. I looked at him, whoa. He changed his look. He looks like a Greek god now. Dianite and Ianite came over too. Ianite came to me and took my hand in support. Dianite's look didn't change much, and Ianite looks really cool in her Olympics outfit.

"I know... well, this place is a good place to practice, eh?" I closed my eyes and focused. I focused on lowering my senses, lowering my power. It took a few minutes, but slowly the presences began to fade. I breathed a sigh of relief once my headache went away. I stood and Ianite hugged me.

"Glad you're ok now, Nix. I also suggest you change your clothes for the events. I had someone make your old clothes from before you became a Priestess. They'll be better for movement." I nodded and Ianite led me to a changing room. I saw the clothes sitting on a bench folded. I went over and changed into them. It feels weird to be back in these again. I've been in dresses since I became a Priestess. I hung my High Priestess dress up and exited with Ianite to go back to the others.

"Alright, now that you've changed to more appropriate clothing, let's get down to it," Mianite said. Mianite, Dianite, and Ianite all flew to their giant thrones that overlooked the arena. Mianite was in the middle, with Ianite to our left and Dianite to our right. "Alright, you 5 Champions: Jordan, Karl, Tom, Phoenix, Gandus, you will be competing against one another in these games to see who is best fit for the powers of the stones."

"Obviously, only one will win. There are 16 events, ranging from obstacle courses to Elytra flying, parkour, archery, pvp, and more" Dianite announced.

"With all that said, competitors, are you all ready?" Ianite asked. We cheered and she smiled gently. "The lanes are color coordinated so you know where to go." Dec was referee, seeing as I was a competitor. Dec brought all of us over to the scoreboard.

"This is the scoreboard that will show who's won however many times. We will refer back to this once the events are over." We nodded, understanding and headed over to the track. As Gandus and I went onto it, we hugged.

"Good luck Gandus. May the best obstacle course goer win."

"Good luck to you as well."

"My nickname is Lucky. I think I have enough luck as it is," I joked. Gandus chuckled. Ianite approached us.

"Girls, I need to take away your magic for now, remember?" We nodded and she took our magic away. That felt weird, not having magic or my psychic powers. I was normal. Ianite went back to her throne. After she sat back down,

"Alright you lot, this track has a few things that you need to work through. Only one lap is needed for this. Any questions?" We shook our heads. "Alright. On your marks then, set, go!" Gandus was on the outside, her lane color being black, me with cyan, Sparky with purple, Tom with red, and Karl on the inside with blue. Sparky was in first for a good portion of the race. I was taking it a tad slow, biding my time until the end where I will put on a burst of speed and make a break for the finish line.

"Phoenix taking it slow, bringing up the rear. What is she doing?" the announcer pondered. After the last ladder, I put on a huge burst of speed, making it through the maze in no time, crossing the finish line first. "Whoa! That was quite the maneuver by Phoenix!" Cheers erupted through the crowd.

"Congrats Phoenix. You've won the first event. Now, let's move on to the next event. Spleef." We followed Dec over to the spleef arena. We entered. "Do you all know how to play?" We all nodded. "Good. There will be 5 rounds. Whoever wins the most wins overall. Ready? Set. Go!" We went at it. Boy was it ever fun. Gandus ended up winning three times, Sparky won twice. Dec led us to the next event. The Elytra course. Great... I'm not that great with Elytra and fireworks. Tom won this one. I was surprised, but impressed too.

"Nice Elytra work out there Tom," I complimented.

"Thanks. I've practiced that a lot." I smiled and nodded.

"And it shows." Dec brought us to our next event. Build Battle. I'm not that great of a builder, but I always do my best. For this event, Sparky won. Not surprised. This next event was swimming and finding things. Finding things I'm good at. Swimming... not so much... given I'm usually sketched out by big bodies of water. I have to get over that though if I wanna do this.

"For this, you need to find the Heart of the Sea, which opens the gate, and swim to the ocean. When you come up out of the water is when the timer stops." One by one, we went. I was able to win this. I went last so I had time to gather myself. When I went, I had been able to get over my sketched out side and just focused on the task at hand. I also supplied the water breathing potions for this.

"Wow Nix, you weren't scared of the water!" Sparky exclaimed.

"Wait, you're scared of the water?" Gandus asked. I blushed lightly.

"Yeah... big bodies of water sketch me out."

"Wow... well, glad to know you conquered your fear to win this event." I grinned sheepishly. Dec took us to our next event. Easier pvp, we all will do well. It'll be quite the battle. We all had our inventories taken, then replaced by equal things. Black leather armor for Gandus, cyan for me, purple for Sparky, red for Tom, and blue for Karl. Stone swords for us all. We started at different points at an equal distance away. On 'go' we went. As I thought, we all did good. At the end though, Tom ended up winning. Next event was ice boats. The race course was a tad crowded, but doable. Gandus won. That impressed me.

"Gandus with the impressive win! That was crowded, I'm surprised they were able to pass one another!" the commentator commented.

"Good job Gandus, I'm impressed. When did you learn to do that?" I asked.

"I was bored one day so I kinda rode around on ice with a boat." I chuckled.

"Well, it paid off." Next was archery. Nice! My strong point. I'm definitely winning this one, and I did. I aced it. Everyone was amazed.

"Amazing work by Phoenix!" the commentator exclaimed.

"Wow, that was impressive work!" Karl complimented.

"Thank you. I've always been good at archery. Especially because I practiced it more as the Olympics came closer."

"It shows." I grinned and Dec showed us to our next event. Chicken collection? Heh? Well... Sparky of course won this one. He does have chickens at his base, so... of course he'd be great at this. He won with a sheepish smile on his face. I chuckled. We went on to our next event. Parkour. Oof. Sparky won with that one. Not surprised there either. He's pretty damn good at parkour. Next up, horse racing. Gandus won that one, surprisingly. I thought she had her minions take care of Darkness' horses? When I asked her that, her response was,

"Yes, but I did ride them. That wasn't dirty work. It was just having them exercise and get used to riders."

"Ah. Gotcha." Next was a simon says dance thing. Whatever color gets called out, you gotta stay on, otherwise you'll get dropped off the floor. Sparky won that one. Not surprised, he's always quick on his feet. Next up is jousting. Oooohhhh, this one was fuuuuunnn. This was my favorite event thus far. It was sooo funny. Just chaos and hilarity and it was just beautiful. Karl took this one, I was super proud of him. We all group bear hugged him for that one. Next was cactice. That was chaos, but fun as well. I won that one by keeping aware of my surroundings.

Yeah, I don't have my presence sensing, but because I did have it before the events, I was used to being aware of my surroundings. That really helped me. No one was surprised. Next was trident throwing. Another accuracy event. I thought this would be just like archery. Boy was I wrong. I was able to fix my aim fairly well, though. Took me 5 tries, where it took the guys longer. I went third and came first in this event. Last but not least was another pvp. This time though, it was to our strengths. Oh boy.

I looked at my things. I have fire prot 4 on every armor piece, my sword has fire aspect 2, my bow has flame, and I have potions. This is gonna be fun. I know for sure Gandus would have a fire sword too, because she's mastered every bit of Elemental magic. That would be why I have fire prot 4 on everything. Also because with my powers, I would be immune to fire damage. Oh wait, the guys are too, because I gave them the infinite fire prot potions... hmm... I wonder if that will be taken away from them for this? As I got my armor on, Ianite came in my base room.

"Hey Nix. How are you feeling about this last event?"

"A little nervous. Though I do like the 'playing to our strengths' aspect of this." Ianite smiled gently.

"I believe in you, but only time will tell who wins. Also, we gods did take away the infinite fire resistance from the guys, so it's a fair fight." I nodded. I figured, but it was nice to get confirmation. Ianite hugged me and gave me a quick kiss before leaving to be with the other two gods.

"Are all the Champions ready?" I put my helmet on and gave my affirmation as the other 4 did. "Alright. On the whistle, you all may come out and fight." A couple moments passed while Dec got out of the way and the whistle sounded. We all burst out of our little base rooms and the fight was on. We all fought brilliantly, but in the end, Tom got the best of us.

"Well, that wraps it up for the Olympic events! Now on to who won and who will become a demigod!" the commentator announced. We put our stuff back and the gods came over to all of us and gave us what we had before the events. Powers and all. I was also able to change back into my High Priestess dress. I went back over to the others. Now Dec and the gods led us all back to the main starting area.

"Now, before we look at the scoreboard, you lot give GG's and high fives or hugs to each other. You all did amazing out there," Dec suggested and complimented. I looked at everyone and smiled happily. I gave Sparky, Gandus, and Karl hugs and Tom a firm handshake.

"Great job out there everyone, you all did fantastic. I know I had so much fun doing this." They all smiled.

"I had loads of fun as well," Tom said.

"I did, too. You know, winning isn't everything. It's all for good fun anyway," Karl said. I nodded.

"Exactly, long as you had fun, that's all that matters." Gandus nodded.

"Right, and I know that now, now that I've joined you guys."

"I'm glad you joined us, Gandus. I've had fun having you as part of our group," Sparky said. Gandus was really happy to hear that. I'm so glad she is fitting in well.

"You guys are such saps," Dec joked. I chuckled.

"Hey, you're the one that told us to say our GG's and stuff," I quipped jokingly. Dec chuckled as well.

"I know, I know. Well, now that you've all effectively made the audience either cringe or go 'aww', let's see who had the most wins!" We cheered and followed Dec over to the scoreboard. "4th place, Karl! We have a tie for third, and that's both our Dianitees, Tom and Gandus! 2nd place..."
