Standing at the side of the stage, I held Jade's hand grinning as we watched Ice Nine Kills for the second night in a row.
They were nearing the end of their set when Nadia came over to us.
"Ready?"
Jade hesitantly nodded.
Nadia handed her a microphone and pushed Jade onto the stage.
I pulled my phone out quickly and started filming.
"Our last song, Love Bites, will be joined by someone we met last night and she has a killer voice. Please welcome Jade West!"
The crowd cheered as Jade made herself visible to everyone and the band started as Spencer started singing.
"I'm tearing London limb from limb
It's tearing me apart, but it's us or them
So howl at the moon, oh how can it be
The softer the skin, the sharper the teeth
Yeah!
So call the nurse, 'cause it's worse when I'm alone
I've fallen prey to a curse I can't disown
Is it all in my head?
Blood on the hands of a man so filled with doubt
But this is love I just can't live without
(Despite the toll of the dead)
So howl at the moon, oh how can it be
The softer the skin the sharper the teeth
With nowhere to go, nothing to believe
I'm counting on beauty to kill off the beast."
My heart stopped as Jade started to sing.
God she was good. Jade's voice always blows me away.
"You bit off more than you could chew
But you taste too good to be true
Safe in my arms you will lay, cause every dog has its day."
Spencer joined in, singing along with Jade as the crowd roared and cheered.
"So howl at the moon, oh how can it be,
The softer the skin the sharper the teeth.
With nowhere to go, nothing to believe,
I'm counting on beauty to kill off the beast.
So howl at the moon, oh how can it be, (Oh how can it be)
The softer the skin the sharper the teeth.
With nowhere to go, nothing to believe, (nothing to believe)
I'm counting on beauty to kill off the beast.
Now it's time to put me down."
Spencer put his hand in Jade's raising it and taking a theatrical bow with her before he spoke into the microphone.
"Thank you Northridge, you've been amazing!"
He let Jade's hand go and she made her way off stage, wrapping her arms around me as I put my phone away.
"Happy birthday, Jade," I said, smiling.
"I love you, thank you so much. This wouldn't have been possible without you."
Grinning, I hugged her tighter and kissed her head.
We hung out with the band again that night, listening to them tell stories about before they were famous.
As a thank you for letting them stay at my place, the band signed a guitar and handed it to me.
"Seriously?"
Spencer nodded.
I handed the guitar to Jade. "You play more than me, babe."
Jade had tears in her eyes then.
"We also want to personally invite you to see us whenever you want, we'll put your name on every list. And you can even come and sing with us if we need a female," Spencer said, making Jade tear up more.
"This is the best birthday ever," Jade said, swiping her tears away.
Laying in bed beside Jade, I played with her hair as she uploaded the video I took and the one Nadia had taken to her Slap Page.
"So, you had a good birthday?" I asked, kissing the top of her head.
"The best, thank you, Tori."
"Anything for you, always."
Tilting her head up, she kissed me, her hand snaking under my shirt and splaying her fingers out across my stomach as her tongue started out, brushing against my lips.
Placing my hand on hers, I shifted, squirming down in the bed before kissing her again.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Vega."
Smiling, I brought my hand up, cupping her cheek. "You deserve the world."
"I already have it. You. You're my world," she whispered, making my eyes water.
Waking up, I frowned, with a pain in my stomach telling me something really wasn't right.
Pulling myself from Jade's arms, I made my way over to her bathroom, tears in my eyes as every step caused more pain.
"Tor?" She murmured sleepily.
"Something's wrong," I whimpered, crouching down and clutching my stomach as an intense pain doubled me over.
My knees hit the tiles hard as I sobbed, the pain radiated up my legs, but the pain inside me was worse.
"Shit, hang on. I'll go get mum," Jade said, running out of her room, pulling a robe around herself to make herself decent.
It felt like an eternity before Jade and Alice came to the bathroom.
"Tori, honey, what's wrong?" Alice asked, crouching beside me, not caring for my lack of clothing.
"It hurts," I sniffled, and Alice nodded.
"We need to get you dressed and to the hospital, has something happened?"
"I-" I glanced at Jade, hating for her to find out this way. "At the first concert, someone elbowed me in the stomach accidentally."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jade asked, helping me to sit on the toilet before going to get me some clothes.
"Jade, don't worry about that right now. We need to get Tori to the hospital. Just get her some clothes and get dressed, I'll get the car ready," Alice said.
Sitting on the bed in the hospital, I kept a hand on my stomach as Jade held my other hand.
Alice had left us and gone home to get Riley ready to go to his father's place.
The nurse came in, a small ultrasound machine being wheeled behind her.
"Alright, Ms Vega, let's see what's going on, okay?"
I nodded, lifting my hand off my stomach and let it fall to the bed, watching as she put gel on my stomach and the wand.
Jade's phone went off, and she apologised, about to ignore it when she frowned and looked up at me.
"Mum found blood in my sheets… and I'm not on my period."
Nodding, I swallowed, looking down at my stomach as the nurse rolled the wand across the slight bump that had started showing less than a week ago.
The nurse froze and looked at the screen, twisting the wand side to side before looking at me. "Have you heard it?"
Shaking my head, she smiled sadly.
"I'm going to take a few tests, okay?"
Biting my lip, I took a piece of paper towel the nurse handed me and wiped the gel off my stomach.
A strap was wrapped around my stomach, monitoring the baby. Blood was taken away in four vials, and Jade was holding a cup of ice chips out towards me every so often, shaking it to make me reach for them and grab a small handful, putting them in my mouth.
She tried hard to take my mind off being here, showing me videos on her phone of Spencer and showing me that he shared a video of her and him singing in the dressing room.
Smiling, I shifted over in the hospital bed and patted the spot beside me.
Jade wasted no time, climbing up to lay on my side, her head resting on my shoulder as I played with her hair.
"Sing to me?" I asked softly.
"What song?"
"Any song, please?"
Nodding, Jade scrolled through her music before clearing her throat as a song started playing softly. She put her phone on my chest so I could hear the music and grabbed my hand that was resting upon my stomach, the other arm wrapped firmly around her waist to keep her close.
"I feel like I'm falling, seriously falling hard for you
Oh forever's a long time
But far from enough time to spend with you
I will always be there
So fall, I'll be behind you
I'll be there to guide you when you've lost your way
Yeah forever's a long time
But far from enough time to spend with you."
Jade lifted her head, kissing my cheek as I wiped a stray tear away and snuggled closer to her.
"I will always be there
So go and call your parents and tell them the good news
Say you've fallen hard and there's someone that needs to meet you
We'll pick out a white dress and grab two golden bands
The world will stare in jealousy cause they don't understand like you and me
I will always be there
I feel like I've fallen, seriously fallen hard for you I feel like I'm falling, seriously falling hard for you
Oh forever's a long time
But far from enough time to spend with you."
She cupped my cheek, kissing my lips softly before staring into my eyes as she continued to sing.
"I will always be there
So fall, I'll be behind you
I'll be there to guide you when you've lost your way
Yeah forever's a long time
But far from enough time to spend with you
I will always be there
So go and call your parents and tell them the good news
Say you've fallen hard and there's someone that needs to meet you
We'll pick out a white dress and grab two golden bands
The world will stare in jealousy cause they don't understand like you and me
I will always be there
I feel like I've fallen, seriously fallen hard for you."
I sniffled, and before I could move to wipe my tears away, Jade's thumb swiped it as she leaned in, kissing me again.
"I love you," I whispered as I stopped her phone from playing anymore music.
"I love you too, Tori. Are you okay? Really okay?"
Biting my lip, I thought about it for a moment before shrugging.
"I … I don't know, Jade. I feel like I should be more worried than I am. And I'm only worried cause I hate hospitals."
"You're not worried about the baby?" She asked, sitting up and facing me.
Frowning, I stroked my hand over my stomach and then looked up at her.
"I know I should be, I should be scared, and nervous, and probably crying over more than your singing. But I just…"
"Hey, it's okay," Jade cooed, stroking my cheek. "It's okay. I kind of understand. I mean, it's not like this baby was planned, and it certainly wasn't something we were expecting, and being a rape baby? It's okay to have mixed feelings."
"I keep waking up and thinking that somethings going to change. That I'm going to start feeling something, or getting excited that I'm pregnant, but-"
Tori stopped talking as the nurse came into the room and looked down at her stomach.
"Sorry, I just came to check on you. I think it's best you stay in overnight."
"Please don't make me stay," I whispered, biting my lip.
"Miss, I really recommend that you do, for your babies safety."
"So, it's still alive?"
The nurse nodded. "Good, than why do I need to stay?"
"Y-You were bleeding?"
"And that appears to have stopped now too," Jade said, raising a challenging eyebrow at the nurse.
God, I love that brow piercing so much.
Swallowing, I looked back to the nurse. Now was not the time to be thinking of all Jade's piercings.
"I still think…"
"Listen, my girl obviously isn't comfortable being in a hospital, so I'm not going to make her stay and feel this way. Now, go find some paperwork that says we can leave, AMA or not, I don't care."
"Okay, but… Can you at least come back if something happens again?"
"Well, duh. We're not fucking stupid," Jade snapped. "Of course we'll be back if something happens. It's why we're here, isn't it?"
"I just.. Overheard you talking about the baby and I-"
"Think that just because my wife's having a rape baby that we're going to ignore everything about it and let her be in pain?" Jade growled, her hand resting on my arm.
Jade just called me her wife… What the fuck was happening, was this all a dream?
Honestly though, I kind of liked hearing her say it.
"R-Right," The nurse stammered and nodded. "I'll go get the paperwork. Your results should be back here tomorrow, we've put a rush on everything. We'll call you with whatever it says and let you know as soon as we know."
Jade triumphantly smiled as the nurse left the room and then leaned down, kissing me gently.
"Let's hurry and get home, wife."
Jade's eyebrow raised again, smirking at my use of the word.
"You started it," I said, beaming up at her. "I'm starving, do you think Rose would mind making those meatballs?"
"I'll message her and ask while I'm messaging mum to come get us, okay?"
Nodding, I waited impatiently for the nurse to come back and unstrap me from everything so I could get out of here faster.
Sooooo... Y'all wanna let me know what you're thinking with the latest update? I'd like to hear your thoughts...
