"Woah, you're really pale!"

The words made Izuku flinch slightly as he spun around to stare at the blond in shock, the boy backing up slightly at the response.

"Woah! Sorry, didn't mean to startle you!" he said, a friendly grin on his face, "I'm Denki Kaminari, nice to meet you!"

"I-Izuku M-midoriya," Izuku replied, turning back around and quickly pulling his jacket on.

"But yeah, you are super pale," the boy continued as if nothing had happened, "Is that part of your quirk?"

"S-sort of…" Izuku replied, tensing as the familiar voice growled from the other side of the room.

"Deku doesn't have a fucking quirk," Bakugo spat, turning to glare at the two boys, the rest of the room going quiet as they stared at Izuku in surprise.

"Wait, what?" a red head said, "But you still got in, right? That's super manly!"

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN MANLY?!" Bakugo shouted, grabbing the boy by the collar, "HE CHEATED HIS WAY IN!"

"That is quite the accusation," the tall boy who had introduced himself as Iida said sternly, chopping his hands through the air, "One I do not believe to be true! Midoriya has quite the impressive quirk! In fact, he managed to destroy the Z-!"

"We should probably go to the field!" Izuku near shouted, startling the room, "W-we wouldn't want to keep the teacher waiting."

"Oh yeah," A boy with black hair and large elbows chuckled, "He seems really strict. Wouldn't want to see what he'd do if we took too long!"

"Peh, what's he going to do?" the shortest boy in the class said, his ball-like hair bouncing as he pulled his jacket on, "Expel us?"

"The person with the lowest score will be expelled," the man said, a sardonic grin inching across his face as the class stared at him in shock, "Welcome to the UA Hero course."

"But that's totally unfair!" one of the girls shouted, Izuku too busy having a panic attack to see who.

"Life isn't fair," the man growled, "Natural disasters, Villain attacks. Heroes are the ones who correct that unfairness. But speaking of fairness. Midoriya."

Izuku jumped at his name, paling as the man reached behind him and produced a small medical cooler box, tossing it to the ground in front of the teen.

"The Principal decided that to accurately assess your abilities, you would need more…energy than what you usually have," Aizawa sighed, annoyance flashing across his face, "Drink the contents of that cooler."

"S-sensei?" Izuku squeaked, looking around at the class as they gave him curious looks, "A-are you sure it's…okay? F-for me to drink…that in front of everyone?"

"The sooner they get used to your quirk, the better," the man replied, "Now drink."

Izuku nodded slowly as he stepped forwards, leaning over to pick up the box. He could hear the whispers of his classmates as he opened the cooler, cringing slightly as he saw the contents. There were a couple of medical bags of blood resting on top of a bed of ice, the teen sighing to himself as he reached in.

They couldn't have put it in a bottle or something? He thought as he lifted the first bag to his mouth, cracking open the seal on the tube with his teeth, Make it less obvious what it was.

Aizawa watched as the teen drained the bag, raising an eyebrow as the nervous expression that had been plastered over the green-haired teen's face faded, replaced by one of satisfaction. As he finished the first bag, he seemed more eager to consume the second, looking like he was simply about to bite into it for a moment before he caught himself. He drained the second bag as well, dropping the empty plastic into the box and closing it with a satisfied sigh.

"Are you ready now?" the teacher asked.

"As I'll ever be," Izuku replied, a calm smile on his face as he licked his lips, an almost complete 180 from his previous attitude.

"Good," Aizawa growled, "Onto the first test."

Izuku felt great. He'd done well in all the tests so far, managing to place second or third so far, much to a certain blonde's annoyance, though Izuku wasn't really paying attention to him right now. He watched the brunette as she prepared to throw the softball.

The blood he had been given had tasted good, if a little stale, but that was to be expected from something like that, but it had reminded him of the brunette's blood. The soft taste, the warmth and power that had spread through him as he drank it. He couldn't get the thought of her blood out of his mind.

"Midoriya," the voice made him start out of his thoughts, "You're up next."

"Yes, Sensei," he said confidently, striding up to the circle and picking up the ball.

He paused for a moment, looking inwards as he judged just how much power he had at his disposal. He could just go for the safe throw, probably scoring quite well, but that didn't seem very "Plus Ultra" to the young Vampire. Instead, he pumped as much energy into his arm as it could handle, just like when he'd punched the Zero-Pointer, feeling his muscles start to tear and bones creak.

"64 metres," Aizawa growled as Izuku threw, staggering as the power he'd built up suddenly vanished, his throat closing as he gagged, the blood in his stomach suddenly feeling sickening.

"W-what?" the teen gasped, all confidence gone, staring at the teacher in shock, the man's hair floating as his eyes glowed a bright red, "W-what happened? H-how? I was using my quirk."

"You were about to break your arm again," the older man growled, capture weapon shooting out and wrapping around Izuku as it yanked him closer, "What were you planning on doing? Making yourself a liability? Hoping someone would step in and help you afterwards?"

"N-no!" Izuku squeaked, still feeling sick, "I-I can heal! I would have been fine after a few minutes! I think."

"You think?" the man growled, "You think?! What if another incident like at the Entrance Exams occurred? What if you attacked one of your classmates?"

"I-I WOULDN'T!" Izuku shouted, "I-I promise!"

"Fine," the man grumbled after a moment, releasing the boy, "But if you so much as look at them wrong, it's immediate expulsion."

"Y-yes Sensei," Izuku muttered, shuddering as the man finally blinked, feeling the familiar rush of energy run through his again, his confidence suddenly returning in a rush, making him feel slightly drunk, "Can I throw now?"

"Go ahead," the man huffed, still surprised by how quickly the teen changed.

"Okay," Izuku hummed, drawing his arm back again, casting a sideways glance at the teacher before giving a small grin, showing off the small fangs in his mouth.

The air cracked, the ball flying through the air as the class jumped, staring at the boy in shock. His arm was a mess, blood openly seeping from the tears in his skin, several going pale as they turned away. There was a sickening cracking sound, the twisted limb suddenly beginning to straighten as the wounds knitted themselves closed, the deep purple bruising that had already begun to form on his skin suddenly fading away.

"1367.4 metres."

"WHAT?!" the shout echoed over the field, "DEKU! WHEN THE FUCK DID YOU GET A QUIRK?!"

Bakugo launched himself forwards with an explosion, Aizawa already throwing out his capture weapon as Izuku suddenly shot forwards himself, grabbing the blond by the collar and sleeve, performing a near perfect throw to slam the boy into the ground. Bakugo coughed as he hit the grass, immediately trying to jump to his feet before a foot slammed into his chest.

"Careful," Izuku tutted as he shoved the blond back down, a lop-sided smile on his lips, "Attacking a fellow student isn't very smart, Kacchan. You could get expelled."

"So could you," Aizawa barked as the capture weapon snapped around Izuku, pulling him off the blond, "You also attacked him."

"I was defending myself," Izuku huffed at the teacher, "Oh, and by the way, he used to bully me for being weak. Is that really the kind of student you want?"

"FUCK YOU, DEKU!" the blond roared, jumping to his feet as explosions crackled across his palms, or they would have had Aizawa not activated his quirk.

"ENOUGH!" he roared, "Stop using your quirks! I'm getting dry eye over here! And no more fighting or I'll expel both of you!"

"Y-yes, S-sensei!" Izuku squeaked, Bakugo still snarling as he flexed his hands.

"Fine," the blond finally conceded, "But this isn't over, Deku."

"It never is with you, is it?" the green-haired teen sighed as Aizawa closed his eyes.

"Midoriya-san," the stern voice said, making Izuku freeze as he headed out of the school, turning slowly to look at the tall blue-haired boy.

The rest of the day after the quirk apprehension test had gone like a normal school day, except that the rest of the class had been stealing glances at him the whole time. Over that time, the last of the rush of energy he'd gotten from drinking the blood had faded, the teen reverting to his nervous self.

"Y-yes, Iida-san?" he said slowly, "Can I help you?"

"I have been meaning to ask," the boy replied, chopping his hands through the air, "What was in those bags that Aizawa-sensei gave you at the start of the test?"

Izuku froze, staring at the other teen for a moment before he tried to answer.

"Oh…well, you see…it's, uhm…it's-."

"Blood, right?" the cheery voice interrupted him, both boys turning to look at the smiling brunette as she stepped up beside them, "Like you needed in the Entrance Exam."

"R-right!" Izuku squeaked, trying to hide his face behind his arms as he waited for the inevitable rejection.

"Ah, I see," Iida hummed, "That is interesting to learn. But then quirks come in all forms! It truly is a powerful and versatile quirk!"

"W…what?" Izuku muttered, feeling the tears begin to flow from his eyes as he stared in shock.

"Huh? Midoriya-san?" Iida said, a look of concern on his face, "Are you alright? Was it something I said?"

"N-no!" Izuku muttered as he wiped his eyes hurriedly, "S-sorry, I was…I was just worried that you'd see me as…I don't know…a monster?"

"Really? I think your quirk is pretty cool," the brunette said, holding out her hand, "Oh, but I haven't introduced myself yet, I'm Ochako Uraraka! Thanks for saving me during the Entrance Exams!"

"Ochako Uraraka," Izuku hummed, feeling something inside him click, "Nice to meet you."

"Same!" the girl hummed, "Aizawa-sensei said your name was Midoriya right? Deku Midoriya?"

"Oh! No!" Izuku blustered, "My name is Izuku. Deku is just something Kacc-Katsuki calls me."

"Katsuki? Who's that? The blond guy with the explosion quirk?"

"Y-yeah," Izuku replied.

"You said that he used to bully you, didn't you? When he jumped at you during the test," Ochako hummed, "I wonder why they let him in then?"

"Katsuki has an amazing quirk," Izuku sighed, "And he really wants to be a Hero. He can't be one as he is right now, but I think he can change."

"Huh?" the two teens looked at him in surprise, "What do you mean "can't be one"?"

"Oh!" Izuku blushed under the surprised looks, "Uhm…he's…he's too violent. Too caught up in his own ego, I guess. He needs to learn to be better than that. Which is why I think UA is going to be great for him!"

"You know," Ochako hummed, "You seem really different from the exams and the test. Like, you suddenly get all nervous."

"S-sorry!" Izuku squeaked, "I just…It's my quirk…sort of?"

The blond glared at the three students as they walked out the gate, muttering to himself, "Fucking Deku. Thinks he can out do me with some bullshit hidden quirk. I'll show him!"

Sire sighed as he looked over the large book, running his fingers over the photographs inside. They'd begun to fade slightly, despite his best efforts, but he could still see them clearly. He closed the book with a snap, walking over to the bookshelf and sliding it back into its place.

The phone rang behind him, the man raising an eyebrow as he walked over to it. Barely anyone knew the number for the land line, as barely anyone used them anymore. He picked up the receiver, answering the call.

"How may I help you?"

"Nojus Laukaitis, I presume?" the voice on the other end said, making Sire freeze, "Or you go by Kuro Zundachi these days, don't you?"

"Who are you?" Sire growled, his instincts flaring.

"Oh, just a friend of a friend," the voice chuckled, "See you around."

The receiver clicked as the other person hung up, Sire lowering the phone slowly onto the base.

"Shit."
