The horde of reporters swarmed around the UA gates, Izuku watching them as they hounded any student that came near, turning away quickly from any that weren't in the Heroics course. Izuku hadn't noticed them until he was practically at the gate, his mind still on the conversation he'd had with Bakugo the previous day. After his declaration of friendship, the blond had simply scoffed and stormed off, shouting about how he was still going to beat Izuku to a bloody pulp the next time they fought. Izuku had taken that as a good thing, as Bakugo hadn't outright rejected him, but it was still running through his head.
"Dammit," he grumbled, shuddering at the thought of having to push through the crowd, the smell of their blood already reaching him from across the street.
"Hey, you in the Heroics course?" the sudden voice beside him made Izuku jump, spinning to stare at the man leaning casually on the wall beside him.
"Uhm…yes?" Izuku squeaked, unsure of what to do, "C-can I help you?"
The man didn't look much like a reporter, tall and skinny, with a mess of wavy black hair, the fringe parted to one side. His dark blue eyes darted over Izuku, the teen noticing that his left pupil was almost pure white.
"Name's Taneo Tokuda," the man chuckled at Izuku's suspicious stare, "And yes, I am a reporter. Though just not as blood thirsty as that lot."
He nodded towards the crowd, which were currently hounding another student, the sparkles emanating from the center of the crowd meaning it was probably Aoyama.
"S-so what do you want?" Izuku asked slowly, trying to inch away from the man, planning to make a break for the gate and force his way quickly through the crowd.
"Not much," the older man chuckled, pulling a business card from his pocket, and offering it to Izuku, "Just introducing myself. I don't plan on asking you any questions. Not yet anyway. Oh, and don't feel obligated to take the card. Just a formality, you know."
"I…uhm…thank you," Izuku mumbled as he took the slip of paper, shoving it in his blazer pocket, jumping at a sudden grating sound, thick metal plates suddenly sliding into place over the entrance to UA.
"Wow, the infamous UA Barrier!" Taneo laughed, pushing himself up off the wall, "Some idiot must have tried to step through the gate without a pass. You got your student ID card, kid?"
Izuku nodded, reaching for his pocket, before the man held out a hand.
"No need to prove it, just best that you get inside before that lot do anything really stupid!" the man laughed again, turning away and heading off. As he turned back towards the gate, Izuku froze, glancing back at Tokuda. He could have sworn he heard a camera shutter go off, but the man had nothing on him.
Izuku walked towards the gate, weaving through the reporters as they wandered back from the gate, looks of defeat and annoyance on their faces as they thankfully ignored him. The iron wall in front of him beeped as he approached, a loud whirring occurring before a section opened up, just wide enough for Izuku to rush through before the reporters realized what was happening. The young Vampire paused as the gate slammed shut behind him, turning to catch a glimpse of crimson eyes before the metal obscured his vision.
"What was that?" he muttered, shivering at the unfamiliar feeling that had radiated from the gaze.
"Good work on yesterday's Battle Trial," Aizawa sighed as he dropped a stack of papers on his desk, "I've reviewed your grades and evaluations. Apart from one incident, there were no substantial injuries."
Izuku flinched as the teacher spoke, glancing at the back of Bakugo's neck, the edge of a bandage just peeking out.
"Wait, that's it?" Mineta muttered, "They almost killed each other yesterday and they're both just going to get off with a slap on the wrist?"
"The issue has already been addressed with all involved," Aizawa growled, making the ball-haired boy squeak, "But that's beside the point. Right now, you need to prepare for something else…"
The class froze as they stared at the teacher, wondering what he could mean.
"You need to decide a Class Representative."
"SUCH A NORMAL SCHOOL LIKE THING!" the class shouted as they quickly jumped to their feet, each shouting about how they would make the best choice.
"Quiet!" the shout echoed through the room as Iida stood from his desk, "It is obvious that the best way is through a vote!"
"But we haven't known each other long enough to build trust, kero," Asui hummed.
"Yeah, everyone will just vote for themselves, right?" Kirishima added.
"Then why not make it a rule that you can't vote for yourself, then?"
The class fell silent as they turned to Izuku, who immediately turned bright red as he tried to hide behind his hands.
"S-sorry, that was a stupid idea!" he muttered.
"I don't know," Ochako hummed, tapping her finger to her lips, "I think it sounds like a good idea."
"Yes, a very good idea, Midoriya! Is that satisfactory, Sensei?" Iida called.
"Whatever. Just don't wake me," the scruffy man said as he slipped into his sleeping bag.
"It would appear we have a clear decision!" Iida called as he finished counting up the votes, the rest of the class looking at the board, "Yaoyorozu-san wins with eight votes! With myself placing second with five, Todoroki in third with four, and Midoriya, Kirishima and Ashido all with one!"
"That makes sense," Sero hummed, "Yaoyorozu was really cool yesterday, explaining the battles like that."
"And Iida's no-nonsense attitude made me vote for him, so I bet he'll make a good Vice Rep!" Hagakure cheered.
"WHO THE FUCK VOTED FOR DEKU!" Bakugo snarled as he glared around the room, Ochako looking away and whistling.
"Yeah, but who voted for me?" Ashido asked, "I mean, I voted for Kirishima but-."
"No way!" the red head gasped, "I voted for you too!"
"Really? Aw, thanks!" the pink-skinned girl laughed.
"Damn childhood friends!" a voice muttered from the background.
Izuku looked around the busy cafeteria, swallowing nervously as he tried to block out the myriad of sounds and smells that were assaulting his senses at the moment. He looked over to Iida, who was still talking animatedly about his family and smiled. He'd managed to become fast friends with the stern boy, and they'd been talking about their motivations for becoming heroes.
"Wow! So, you're Ingenium's younger brother?" Izuku asked excitedly as Iida gave a smug grin, "Are you planning to intern with him later this year?"
"Yes, I am," Iida laughed, a strange act for the usually very serious boy, "I come from a long line of well recognized heroes, so I'll be following in my brother's footsteps."
"That's amazing!" Izuku's eyes were shining with admiration as Iida continued to grin, happy to talk about his brother.
"Wow, calm down you two," Ochako laughed as she ate her lunch, "You're disturbing the other students!"
The alarm caught them off guard, making the entire student body in the cafeteria jump.
"Level three breach! All students please proceed to the evacuation point!"
Iida grabbed a passing third year and asked, "What's a level three breach?"
"Someone's infiltrated the school grounds," The third year said quickly, "It's never happened before!"
The mass of students suddenly surged, dragging the third year with them as the other three looked around in confusion. Izuku spotted something through the window, recognizing one of the news reporters that had tried to pester him that morning. Turning back to the other two he spoke.
"It's just the media, how'd they get in?"
"I have no idea," Iida stated, looking around as well, "But these students are stampeding, someone is going to get hurt."
Izuku looked at the roiling crowd, nodding in agreement as he tried to figure out some way to get them to calm down. The noise was starting to get to him, the blood in his stomach boiling as the smell of hundreds of panicking students filled his mind. There was too much noise for him to think. He could hear every student's frantic heartbeat, smell their blood rushing through their veins. His fangs felt too large for his mouth, his stomach aching.
"STOP!"
The shout had more force behind it than he'd intended, his blood boiling away as the shouts of the students suddenly fell silent. Izuku looked around in a daze for a few moments, the now familiar feeling of the Hunger building up in his stomach as the world wobbled. Iida stepped forwards as Izuku began to sway, shouting something as the student body seemed to come to, moving more slowly towards the door. Iida turned to him again, a grim look on his face as Izuku felt himself start to fall, Ochako jumping forwards to catch him. The last thing he remembered was her sweet scent.
Izuku stared up at the cream-colored tiles as Recovery Girl scolded him, her shrill voice grating on his ears as he sucked on a blood pack.
"It's barely been a full day and already you're back in here," she grumbled, turning away from him, "With anemia, no less."
"Sorry," he sighed, sitting up, "I don't know what happened."
"You used your Influence on a large group of people," his Sire said calmly from beside him, the boy not even jumping as he looked over, "It exhausted your blood reserves."
"Oh," Izuku muttered, "Sorry."
"There is no need to apologize, young one," Sire said softly as he placed a hand on the teen's shoulder, "You were in a dangerous situation, panic is a natural occurrence."
"But how am I supposed to be a Hero if I can't keep calm in stressful situations!" Izuku said, looking into the shadows of the hood.
"That is what you are here to learn," Sire replied, squeezing the shoulder comfortingly, "And learn you shall, but only in time."
"I…yes Sire," the boy replied, looking away.
"Your abilities are growing faster than I expected," the man continued, "Though that may be due to the fact that UA is providing you with donor blood, rather than animal. We must address this quickly, otherwise we may have another…incident."
"Like what happened to me?" Izuku asked, his voice shaking slightly.
"Yes. Or worse," The man sighed before continuing, "However, for now I believe it would be best that you regain your strength before you return to class."
"Midoriya! Are you feeling better?" Iida asked as Izuku walked back into the classroom, the rest of the students looking up.
"Uhm…yeah," Izuku replied, "Sorry about that."
"What happened?" Ochako asked as she moved to his side, "You shouted, then passed out. I was worried!"
"Oh…Uhm…I kind of…over did it with my quirk," Izuku muttered, "I used up all my blood."
The class seemed to tense slightly at that, making Izuku blink as he looked around in confusion.
"Is something wrong?" he asked.
"Not really," Ochako replied softly, looking away slightly, "It's just…"
"Aizawa-sensei said you might attack us if you wanted blood," Kaminari said, the rest of the class staring at him as Izuku blinked in confusion.
"What?" the green-haired teen asked.
"Sensei explained to us that you may become dangerous when you run out of blood after you were taken to the nurse's office," Iida answered, making Izuku look at him in shock, "I believe he was simply warning us, though his words were…somewhat harsher."
"Oh," Izuku sighed, looking down for a moment, before looking out over the class, most of them avoiding his eyes, "Well…He's not wrong."
"What?"
"He's not wrong," Izuku repeated, taking a slow breath to calm himself down, "My quirk is dangerous. Sometimes I…I could lose control. But I'm sure Sensei and my Sire will be there to make sure that you all stay safe."
"Your…Sire?" Mina asked slowly, "You mean like your dad?"
"Huh?" Izuku blinked as he seemed to realize what he'd just said, "Oh! N-no! N-not like that!"
"Izuku!"
The teen turned at the shout, blushing slightly as he saw the brunette running towards him.
"H-hey Ochako," he mumbled, "Can I help you?"
"Oh…uhm…" the girl paused as she reached him, blushing slightly herself as she glanced away, "Actually, I was wondering if I could help you!"
"If you could help me?" Izuku looked at her in confusion, "With what?"
"With…well, with your quirk," the girl replied, "You need blood, right? I could give you some of mine if you needed it!"
"What are you saying?" Izuku squeaked, his pale face lighting up, "I-I c-couldn't!"
"Well, it would be better than you attacking someone else, wouldn't it?" Ochako said, smiling at him, her head cocked cutely to the side, her cheeks still flushed, "I mean, I don't mind! You've already drunk from me once before!"
"T-that was an accident!" Izuku replied, shaking his head, "It's a really bad idea!"
"Oh," Ochako blinked as she replied, the disappointment obvious on her face, before it was replaced with embarrassment, "Oh, I'm sorry for asking! I didn't think about how you would feel! I'm sorry!"
"N-no! I'm sorry!" Izuku said, "I-I shouldn't have been so harsh in my reply!"
Ochako snorted quietly as she watched the teen bow low, making Izuku look at her in confusion.
"Sorry," she chuckled, "It's just you're so sincere. You don't really suit the usual Vampire archetype."
"Oh," Izuku replied, chuckling himself as he stood, "Yeah, I guess I don't, do I?"
All Might stood proudly, the family held gently in his arms as the Villain collapsed to the ground.
"Fear not, for I am on my morning commute!"
"Thanks for the support," Mt. Lady muttered as Kamui Woods collapsed to the floor, "But…"
"He'll put us out of business," Kamui sighed.
All Might just smiled as he shot off, leaping through the sky.
"Your speed has greatly, for lack of a better word, reduced," the voice said from beside him, almost making the Hero lose his balance in the air, the Pro turning to look at the vaguely familiar cloaked figure flying beside him.
"Oh! And who are you?" All Might asked as he landed on a rooftop, the figure landing softly beside him, "Not a Villain, I hope!"
"No," the figure said, "I am simply a concerned passerby. And I am especially concerned about how you are using your time, All Might."
"How I am…? How do you know about that?!" the No. 1 barked, sliding into a ready stance, "Drop your hood, stranger!"
"Do not fear," the man replied, waving a gloved hand, "I am a friend. In fact, I am, for lack of a better word, closely, linked to one of your students, and it is from that that my concern arises."
"What do you mean?" All Might asked as he stood up again, still eyeing the man suspiciously.
"You waste your limited time on petty criminals, when you should be saving it for your students," the hooded man sighed, "It is selfish and unnecessary. Allow the other Heroes to save those that need it."
"But I am-,"
"A teacher now," the man cut All Might off, "As am I. Your priority should be your students, not your image."
"My image?" All Might balked slightly, stepping back.
"Yes," the stranger hummed, "Though I believe it best that we both depart for UA now. We would not wish to be late."
