Izuku groaned as he sat up in the middle of the floor, blood dripping down his face as he looked at the shredded plastic lying in front of him.

"There has to be an easier way to do this," he heard someone mutter, his eyes glazed over as he felt his consciousness slowly return from the darkness, "You can't just keep beating the hell out of him then throwing blood packs when he gets too violent."

The chains on Izuku's wrists clinked as he looked up at the ceiling, the first light of dawn starting to filter in through the high windows of the gymnasium. Had they really been doing this that long? Izuku couldn't tell, he'd only been plunged repeatedly into the darkness, given just barely enough blood to bring himself back, then plunged in again.

"We're done for tonight," he heard his Sire say, feeling the man's presence as he approached, unlocking the manacles, and helping Izuku to his feet, before handing him a bottle, "Drink this, young one, then go shower, we have a meeting to attend shortly."

"Yes Sire," Izuku mumbled, draining the bottle of blood in an instant before stumbling towards the changing rooms.

"You," the word was hissed out as Izuku entered the room, making him stare at the blond.

It was early in the morning, at least a couple of hours before school was set to start, and Izuku had been called in for an emergency meeting. His mother stood beside him, just as surprised by the malice in the blonde's voice as he was. Monoma almost stomped up to Izuku, only the hand on his own mother on his shoulder stopping him.

"Neito, please, calm yourself," she said softly, squeezing his shoulder with a gloved hand, "I'm sure it's not as bad as you think."

"But Mama!" the blonde whined, "It has to be the 1-A bastard's fault! Why else would they call all of us in here?!"

"What's going on?" Inko asked as she and Izuku walked further into the room, looking around at the two blondes, Recovery Girl, Nedzu and Sire, his hood down and a sombre expression on his face, "Is something wrong with Izuku?"

"Not entirely, Madam," Sire started, his mouth snapping shut as Recovery Girl whacked his calf with her cane.

"Now now, Sire-san," Nedzu hummed, "No need to hide anything. Now that everyone is here, let's get started shall we? Recovery Girl if you would."

The elderly woman nodded, pointing to a large screen on the back wall of the meeting room, clicking a remote.

"If you'd all look there," she said, an image appearing on the screen, "You'll see the results of a series of blood and DNA tests that I have run on both of your sons and one other."

"DNA?" Monoma's mother asked, "Why did you need to run a DNA test?"

"Because of the nature of both of the boys' quirks," Recovery Girl explained, "Monoma's quirk allows him to temporarily copy the quirk genes of others, which is what he did to Midoriya."

"And why is that a problem?" Neito huffed, "I've done it plenty of times before! I know what I'm doing!"

"I'm sure you do, Deary, but that isn't the problem here," Recovery Girl continued, "The problem is with Midoriya's quirk."

"What?" Izuku asked, staring at the screen in confusion, "M-my quirk?"

"I knew it was his fault!" the blond laughed suddenly, glaring at Izuku as the green-haired teen blinked in shock, "All of this is your doing!"

"I would ask that you calm down, young Monoma," Nedzu chirped as he hopped up onto a stool beside the screen, pointing to the results, "You see, the problem lies here. In the portion of the DNA that is believed to govern quirks. Do you notice anything strange about these three results?"

The room went silent as everyone started to inspect the screens, Neito speaking up after a moment.

"The first two, they're almost identical," the blond said, scoffing when the others looked at him, "I studied some basic Genetic Theory in middle school. It was to do with my quirk."

"Right you are," Nedzu chuckled, "But what about the third set of results?"

"Those are obviously mine," Neito huffed, "They're the only one that are different, so it's mine."

"What makes you say that?" Nedzu asked.

"Because children inherit their parents' quirks," the blond snorted, "So it makes sense that Midoriya's and his father's test results are the same."

"Except I am not the young one's father," Sire hummed, stepping forwards, "Though those are my results."

"What?" Monoma blinked as he looked between the man and Izuku, "So then Midoriya is what? A quirk mutation?"

"Not at all," Sire shook his head, before glancing over to Izuku for a moment, "That is why we called you in today. You see, I gave Midoriya his quirk."

"You what?" both blondes gasped.

"I gave Midoriya his quirk," Sire repeated, "And no, I was unaware that I could do it until after the deed was done. The problem lies in the fact that you copied that quirk."

"H-how?" Neito squeaked, looking back over to the screen.

"From what we can tell," Recovery Girl cut in, "Midoriya's, and Sire-san's, quirk has the ability to cause damage to the quirk genes of a person who is…exposed to it."

"Damage?"

"Yes, damage," Recovery Girl said, stepping in again, "There was quite extensive damage to your DNA in the area of the quirk gene. That's why I asked if we could take more blood from you earlier. We need to check if the damage has healed."

"My quirk…is damaged?" Neito muttered, before turning to Izuku, "It has been harder to use lately…You infected me with your…your evil quirk! And now I can't use mine properly!"

"Quiet!" the shout drowned out Neito's own, startling the room as they all looked towards Nedzu, the rodent clearing his throat, "I apologise for that. You have not been "infected", as you so put it, young man."

"So then…what does this all mean?" Neito's mother asked, "Is my son going to be alright?"

"That's what we need to check," Recovery Girl said, stepping up with a syringe, "We'll be taking more blood to test and see if the damage has begun to heal, or anything else has happened in the last few days. Other than that, we can't do much else."

"Very well," the woman nodded, "Is there anything else?"

"No," Nedzu shook his head, indicating the door, "Now, if you would please follow Recovery Girl to her office. She'll take the blood sample and let you be on your way."

The woman nodded as she followed the elderly nurse out of the room, her son still glaring daggers at Izuku as he followed behind her. The room fell silent for a moment as they watched the door close.

"Now that that they are gone," Nedzu hummed as it finally swung shut, picking up the remote Recovery Girl had left behind, "There is one more thing we need to talk about."

"There's more?" Inko said, looking around in shock, "What now?"

"Please look at these results," Nedzu answered as the screen changed, showing a pair of results, "Both of these results are from your son, Midoriya-san."

"And what am I looking for?" Inko asked, "Damage to his DNA? A mutation in it? What?"

"Something like that," Nedzu nodded, pointing out a particular section, "This result is from the first time we took blood from your son, just after the incident with his first practical class."

"That was weeks ago," Izuku said, Nedzu nodding.

"And this is the most recent set of results," the rodent continued, pointing to the second image, "Notice anything?"

"They're…I'm not sure, but they seem slightly different?" Inko said after a while, looking at Nedzu as he nodded, "B-but how? I thought DNA couldn't change like that? Is it Izuku's quirk?"

"We believe so, Madam," Sire said as he stepped forwards again, "From what has been explained to me, the quirk is slowly altering the young one's DNA to be closer to mine. The change hasn't spread much further than the quirk genes, but it is spreading."

"W-what does that mean?" Inko whispered, staring at the man as he shook his head slowly.

"We do not know, Madam," he said, "We can only keep watching and hope to decipher that in time."

Izuku sat quietly in the class as he stared blankly ahead, ignoring the world around him. His head had been full of questions since the meeting that morning. The adults had kept talking for a while after, but he had been too in shock to hear most of it. His quirk was changing him, altering his DNA. Did that mean that he wouldn't be himself after enough time? How long would that be? Was there even a way to tell?

"Izuku?" the sound of his name made him start, turning to look at the two concerned faces watching him, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," he replied automatically, the two girls looking at each other or a moment before nodding.

"No, you're not," Ochako said, "You've been staring into space all morning, and none of the teacher's have been scolding you about it. Something happened, didn't it?"

"Nothing happened," Izuku muttered, looking away.

"Can you not tell us, kero?" Tsuyu asked, stepping closer to him, "Is it something to do with your quirk?"

Izuku twitched at the word, the two girls stepping back as he fidgeted in his seat.

"Okay," Ochako said quickly, clapping her hands, "Enough about that. The Sports Festival is in only a few days! So, have you guys been training for it?"

The last few days past in a flash, Izuku attending his sessions with Hound Dog and the BQS group. Now, Class 1-A sat in their waiting room, Izuku flanked by Ochako and Tsuyu, the brunette smiling as Iida stood nearby, chopping his arms through the air as he tried to give a motivational speech, the rest of the class not paying attention.

"Midoriya," the monotone voice broke through the rest of the chatter, Todoroki approaching the green-haired teen with a scowl, "Your quirk. It's the quirk of a Villain."

The room fell silent, every student staring at the scarred boy in shock.

"Nobody else seems to be willing to say it, but we all saw what happened during the sparring exercise last week," the two-toned teen continued, "You were going to kill that 1-B student."

"He was going to do the same to Izuku!" Ochako said as she jumped to her feet, stepping between Todoroki and Izuku, "He copied Izuku's quirk and couldn't control it! It's not Izuku's fault!"

"You only say that because you're already under his spell," Todoroki spat, glaring at the brunette as she stepped back in surprise, "I heard what he did to you. He hypnotised the two of you into liking him."

"What?" Ochako blinked, looking at Todoroki in confusion, "What are you talking about? Izuku wouldn't do that!"

"How would you know?" the boy growled back, "Maybe he hypnotised you into thinking he wouldn't. I don't trust him."

"Well, we do, kero," Tsuyu said flatly as she joined Ochako, staring down the boy as his scowl deepened.

"Whatever he is, it's not a Hero," Todoroki muttered as he turned away, "And I will prove that today by defeating him."

The two girls stiffened; the other students silent as they seemed about to attack one of the most powerful members of the class. The tension suddenly vanished as Izuku stood, placing a hand gently on each of the girls' shoulders and pulling them gently aside.

"He's right," Izuku hummed, making everyone, including Todoroki, stare at him in surprise, "My quirk is dangerous. Many would call it a Villains' quirk, or the quirk of a monster. That's a fact that I've already come to accept. But it doesn't change anything. I'm still going to become a Hero."

"The fact that you admit it won't make me go easier on you," Todoroki growled as he walked towards the door.

"I don't expect you to. So, I expect you to go all out against me."

Todoroki froze, his fists clenching as he stared at the door in front of him.

"I will not use that man's quirk," he growled so low that it was almost silent, "I made an oath."

"That man's quirk?" Izuku asked as he stared at the other teen's back, before shaking his head and continuing, "I won't hold back if I have to. I expect the same from you."

The room remained silent as Todoroki stood, before stomping forwards and throwing the door open, slamming it behind him.

"Well," Izuku muttered as the tension in the room faded away, the rest of the class starting to mutter quietly, "That could have gone better."
