"Ugh, why is this so difficult?" Glimmer looked exhausted as she slumped over in her mother's chair.

"It's not that big of a deal," Adora argued. "We just want to fight things. We don't need titles."

"No, you don't," Bow agreed uneasily. "It's just that…"

Silence hung in the space. Micah tried to help. "Not everyone's going to take kindly to, um… a war criminal. No offense."

"Offense taken," Catra scoffed.

"It's important that you're acting on official Bright Moon orders when you run missions," Glimmer explained, trying to rectify the situation. "She-Ra needs to be a neutral party. You saw how important that was at Princess Prom. You live here, but it's important that people know that the Princess of Power serves all of Etheria. As for Catra…"

"I thought I left all this stupid red tape in the Horde!" Catra growled. "I just want to get out of this fucking palace and fight something."

General Juliet spoke up. "Your majesty, perhaps it would be in your best interest to create a new position in our ranks. Catra's tactical skills in fighting Bright Moon speak for themselves. She could be useful in counterintelligence."

Catra smiled. "Now her, I like."

Glimmer nodded. "Catra. I hereby appoint you Security Commander of Bright Moon. Your duties are to prepare our kingdom against threats in and outside of Bright Moon. You will gather intelligence and report on any person or group that threatens the peace of our kingdom and the whole of Etheria. Do you hereby pledge to serve Bright Moon in this capacity, Commander Catra?"

"Sure thing, Sparkles."

Adora elbowed her hard in the side. "Stand up!"

Catra swore under her breath and stood. "I accept, Your Majesty."

"Good," Glimmer sighed, stepping away from the table. "Well, if there's nothing else, I'm taking the rest of the day to decompress in Mystacor."

She reached out for Bow's arm, and then they were gone in a pink haze.

As Adora and Catra walked back to their room, Catra couldn't help but tease her partner a little more.

"I think my first order of business as Security Commander is to secure our bedroom."

Adora rolled her eyes. "I don't think our room is in great danger."

Catra whipped around, positioning her eyes just under the blonde woman's chin. "Don't be so sure, princess," she purred. "I think there's plenty of trouble waiting inside.

She turned away just as quickly, letting her trail brush over Adora's arm before slipping into the room.

Adora felt her face flush. They hadn't done anything more than kiss - they still had a lot of their own issues to unpack before getting into anything physical between them. Regularly getting into near-death fights with a lifelong friend meant needing to reevaluate and rebuild a physical relationship… or whatever it was Perfuma kept telling them. Even so, Adora couldn't deny the attraction between them and the desire for more. But she couldn't give in to those urges until she knew everything was squared away. Until she knew they could separate their former rivalry from the relationship they were forming now. Until Adora no longer felt like she had to be on her guard at all times. Until Catra was safe from her own self-destructive tendencies.

Luckily, when Adora entered the bedroom, she found Catra already curled up and sound asleep. She slipped in next to her partner and wrapped her arms around the slightly smaller girl.

"Okay, Commander. Maybe just a short nap - for the sake of the kingdom." Adora thought she heard a soft mewl as Catra nestled up to her, and then, something that never came easily to her (and especially not midday) happened. Adora fell asleep.
