Spoilers for Touch And Go S1 E24

No-one got any sleep that night.

Scott calling out Kayo's name like that didn't just haunt the two of them, it haunted all the boys. Having the two stay out overnight until Virgil was ready to pick Shadow up didn't help.

That evening Grandma called a 12-hour downtime. Everyone was tired and needed the break, and she watched fondly as the boys and Kayo settled down for a movie marathon.

Scott sat in the middle of the large couch in the den, Kayo on one side and Virgil on the other. Alan sat next to his sister while John and Gordon took the floor in front of them. The six were engrossed in whatever ridiculous movie they had put on. Sally left the giant bowls of popcorn MAX had kindly prepared on the table in front, hearing Scott and Virgil murmur their thanks.

By the second movie it had been almost all-change on the couch. Now Scott and Kayo had been joined by Gordon and Virgil had crashed out on the second couch.

By the third movie it was Scott and Kayo, John next to Scott, and Gordon and Alan sitting on the floor next to each other.

By the time the fourth movie started all but Scott and Kayo were asleep.

Kayo had snuggled into Scott's side, pulling the blanket over her. In return, Scott had his arm around her shoulder, head leaning slightly on hers. They were chatting in low voices so as to not wake the others, inconsequential stuff mostly criticising the movie they were currently watching.

Gordon turned over in his sleep and kicked the table, waking himself up. He turned to sit with his back against the table, facing his chatting siblings. They carried on without noticing him.

Scott was getting sleepy. With all his family around him he was much more comfortable, and Kayo burrowing into his side, even with the chatting he was practically gone already. Kayo wasn't too far behind, her words starting to slur together in tiredness.

He was just about to completely drop off when he missed what she had said, and she turned her head to repeat herself. At the same time Scott, deciding that he couldn't stay awake any longer, went to drop a kiss on the top of her head.

Gordon wasn't sure who was more surprised by the kiss – both Scott and Kayo stared at each other, wide-eyed, lips still pressed together – until Gordon crowed loud enough to wake everyone up.

'Scotty and Kayo kissing on a couch…'
