Right… Hi there, I am just putting this out there because I have been enjoying writing this and coming up with the idea. I have tried my best to make it fit into the timeline, however it will eventually drift off into the multiverse but still follow the main events…just a warning.
I am new to this website so I am sorry if my text editing is weird or off, I'm still learning.
Please do get in touch if you think you have helpful advice (or if you just want to chat).
Thanks for reading and enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the Marvel characters and story.
I am slowly making my way through the busy streets. It's already hard enough to squeeze my way though the crowd on a normal day, but one day before Christmas is borderline as bad as Black Friday. But who am I to judge, it's not like I've never gone out panic shopping. Not today though, today I am trying to get to work and I get to be an annoyed coffee drinking/ spilling metropolitan. Ugh, tourists.
Just around that corner and I will be at the restaurant, I am thinking to calm myself down. We have a large crowd coming today for a (you guessed it) Christmas Party, and as the head chef I need to be there early to make sure everything is running smoothly and that there is actually no nuts in the desserts, no need to get sued. Suddenly my coffee spills, someone had pushed past me a bit too energetically. "Excuse me", I raise one eyebrow and give the man an annoyed stare. He's wearing a black tailored suit (who wears black tie at 3pm, people that feel more important than they are).
He stops. He turns around. Black hair, green eyes, clean shave. Rings under his eyes. He grabs my arm, firmly but not too tight. My heart starts pounding, my mouth feels dry. He looks me in the eyes, I don't know how much time is passing. Do I know him, or has he just got one of those faces?
"Ash?", it's merely a whisper, but his voice sounds so familiar. His eyes widened, scanning my face intensely .
"Do I know you?", I squint my eyes, frown my forehead, as if that would make the stranger in front of me appear as a long lost friend or friendly acquaintance.
"No, my apologies!", he laughs and lifts his hands. His demeanour changes and a charming smile appears on his face, "Can I get you another coffee?" He points at the cup in my hand, I had already forgotten about that. I think about it, it's rare to meet a fellow brit in this kind of place.
"No, no, don't worry about it!", the words that leave my lips feel oddly final, "I'm kind of in a rush"
"It was good to see you Ash", he sounds genuine, one last smile and off he goes.
I shake my head, he really must've thought I was someone else. My name isn't Ash or Ashley I presume. Cute guy but a bit insane. I try to make him out in the crowd but he had disappeared.
I shrug my shoulders and forget about it. Turning around the corner I can already spot the green and golden writing across the windows "Persephone", that's me, literally.
I finally make it to the restaurant, just in time.
