"What do you mean, she had another daughter?" Karl looked in disbelief at his younger sister. Donna had suddenly appeared in front of his factory, Angie running proverbial circles around them both as he lead her inside.

"Another child." Donna fiddled with the bag she was carrying. "She called me with a request for toddler-sized clothes earlier today. When I asked if Ereina had grown that quickly, she said it was for another child."

"Where did she get that one from!?" Sure, there was a village nearby, but he doubted their sister had ever before felt the need to use those people for anything but labour and sustenance.

"It came to her, she said. Called it Ereina's older sister. Escaped from the laboratory."

"Ah... shit." He frowned at that, offering her the only cleanish chair of his home. "Another of those Nymph-things?" His frown deepened at her nod. "And she thinks that's a good kid? I'll give her Ereina, cause she's going to be raising that one, but another that was kept in a laboratory for god knows how long? That's asking for trouble. How are we supposed to keep her safe if she invites in a creation of those people?"

Lady Beneviento shrugged lightly and he realized that she had come to him for comfort of some kind. The black-clad woman was trembling. "I don't know."

"Did that shit destroy her brains or something?" He muttered, pacing briefly. "Do Miranda and Moreau know of this?"

Again she shrugged. "She didn't mention it and I didn't ask either of them yet."

"We probably should." He mused, scratching the stubble on his chin in thought. "Certainly Mother." As if in answer to his thought, the phone rang.

Picking up, he was greeted with the voice of the woman in question. "Fiul meu..."

"Yes, Mother Miranda?" He took note of the strain in her voice, audible even through the phone.

"Is Donna with you? I tried calling her place, but she did not answer."

"She is." He beckoned his sister closer to the phone, the Dollmaker gliding over. "Do you need her?" He tilted the phone so the other woman would listen in as well.

"I need both of you. There is to be a meeting tomorrow, same place and time as always." The two shared a glance at that. "Alcina has a new child... another Nymph." So she did know already.

"You know?" Donna softly asked. He briefly worried that she would not be heard, but Miranda answered her.

"Yes. I was there when the thing arrived. On that note, Karl, once we finished this talk find out how the Lycans just let it pass all the way to the castle. That should not have happened without half of them dying and us getting alerted to the matter." The strain morphed into anger, something close to snarling coming out the speaker.

"Yes, Mother Miranda." He inclined his head on instinct, even if she could not see it.

"What happened?" Angie clambered into Donna's arms as she spoke, one had rising to cup the receiver along with him.

"You'll hear tomorrow." Mother Miranda answered curtly. "I must call Salvatore... and..."

"At least you were alerted." The Inventor offered, only to fall silent at the hiss of their elder. Something else was there, something deeper, but he sincerely doubted he would be able to figure out.

"I was not." It sounded like she had to squeeze that out between her teeth. "The thing reached Alcina unimpeded and I was alerted only when a maid failed to enter her bloody bedroom and alerted me and the triplets to that fact."

"Shit." Bypassing the Lycans was one thing, but bypassing their mother on her turf!? "Are we sure the thing is safe?"

"Alcina claims so and has put it under her explicit protection." The Priestess took a deep breath. "I am doubtful. It's a creation of those people. Who knows what they did to it." She fell silent. "And it has attacked her once already. Apparently those things in the vineyard were controlled by it."

"Alcina has gone crazy." Was his verdict at that information. Donna's head turned to him at that statement and he did not remove her veil to know she was glaring heavily at him. "Donna, don't look at me like that. It's one thing to take in a child. It's another to take in a weapon that tried to kill you... and actively abducted your ass to be tortured."

"Regardless..." Their mother brought their attention back to her again. "We will hopefully learn more tomorrow."
