Moreau smiled gently at the small form. Much like the triplets, the Nymphs had free range of their lands and while Ereina did not show any desires to leave her mother's vicinity, Frederika had been looking through the entire valley. The other Lords and Mother Miranda had been dubious about this, but Alcina had made it quite clear she expected them to treat her like they would any of her older daughters.
And today, almost a week after she started her journeys, it was his turn to host her for the day, two days after she had suddenly popped up in Karl's factory.
"Hello." Her voice was still that unnatural sounding thing, but her entire face had softened. She looked and even acted more like the child she portrayed.
"Hello." He pulled himself onto the dock she was standing on. "Visiting time...?"
"Yes." She plopped down, dangling her legs down from the spruce construct. "Never been water."
"Mmmmhhh... no rivers between here and there." He conceded, though it might just be that he had missed them, sitting in the back of the camper as he had been. "So you want to swim?"
"Yes." She nodded, her curls bouncing around her head. "Help?"
"Of course." Even if he wasn't certain that Alcina would murder him for letting one of her daughters swim in his reservoir unaccompanied, it was nice to have company in general. "Are you...?" He gestured to her entire body. Considering she wasn't human, he was not sure how she'd even react to water. He had heard faint rumours that the younger Nymph couldn't handle water, as it caused her to loose all cohesion... unintentionally.
"Not know." She shrugged, looking down on the watersurface.
"Let's try at the edge." He'd rather not that she lost cohesion in the middle like this, where he had no easy way of getting her out quickly.
"Yes." He slid back into the water as the girl clambered to her feet again and started running down the walkway and from there onto the shore. When he reached her, she was poking a frog, which seemed completely uncaring about her presence.
It did hop off once he came onto shore himself, but that was to be expected. Standing beside her like that, she was absolutely dwarfed by him. "Shall we?"
"Yes." She tugged up the dress she was wearing, putting it aside to hang over a branch. His mouthcorner quirked at noting that his sister's care for clothes had already rubbed off on her, a chuckle barely kept behind his lips at the soft pop-sound her hair made when it was pulled free.
The small form padded over to the water, where the wind was creating small waves. Remembering her sister's fate in water, she was moving slowly, poking in her toes first.
"Well?" He staid nearby, ready to yank her away at the first hint of melting - to think that would ever be a concern!
"Think good?" She put weight on the foot, and then swished it around a bit. "Yes. Think good."
"Good. I am not sure I'd be able to catch you in a bucket." He snorted softly, stepping into the water as well. Smiling up at him, she stepped fully into the water, before frowning. "Something wrong?"
"Think..." Her small face frowned some more and suddenly she jumped forward towards deeper water. Salvatore cried out in surprise, before nearly breaking into laughter when seeing what she had noticed.
There, floating on the water, was Alcina's eldest Nymph-child. The density of the plastic-like child was too low for her to sink in water.
"Well..." He snorted, stepping up to her and gently pushing. He could push her under, but she popped up immediately. "That does remove the concern of drowning, at least." Would she have been able to drown, even if she managed to sink?
"Yes." She was pouting when she managed to roll over, floating along like an abandoned surfboard. "Bleh."
"I can tug you along when I dive?" He was pretty certain he'd manage to beat her bouyancy, surely at least for a bit.
"Yes." The pout morphed into a smile. "Please."
Ah, Alcina had started on manners already. Let's hope these ones worked out better for her than her third. Daniela was a menace in human form at the best of times.
"Sure." He waded in deeper, one of her hands clinging to his clothes. It probably looked to onlookers either very weird or very terrifying. He was the most monstrous-looking of the Lords and she looked like a regular child. Granted, the villagers would think she was a blessed child of some sort... Did they even know yet that there were more Dimitrescus these days? He wasn't sure the maids of the castle had regular contact with the village.
A second hand joined the first, both small appendages fisting the wet fabric.
"Ready?" He'd do a short dive first, just to see if his young niece needed oxygen and he could go deeper later on.
"Yes." She pulled herself closer, reaching for his arm. He held it in her reach, feeling the cool fingers close around his limb. For a moment, he thought she rippled, but it probably was just the movement of the water.
"Squeeze if you need to surface." He stopped briefly when the water reached his shoulders.
"Yes." She nodded, wrapping her arms around his for a better grip.
