Disclaimer: I do not own the Transformers franchise. Hasbro owns the Transformers franchise. This disclaimer extends throughout the entire story (which is a given). I only own my OC's and plot that aren't in the movie, obviously.

Prologue
Tranquility, Nevada
March 1976
"JUDY ROSE MILLER!" Came the loud screech of her mother. Judy winced. She had never heard her mother sound this pissed off at her before. Then again, she had gone and got herself knocked up by her high school boyfriend. And it happened out of wedlock to boot.
Judy sat stock still in the middle of her living room couch while her mother placed in front of her. Her hands were clasped together in her lap. Her head was bowed, careful not to look her raging mother in the eyes. She had dressed carefully for the occasion, in hopes that her innocent looking outfit would throw her mother off.
She wore a sleeveless pullover-style vest that had striped ribbed binding, a blouse that had a v-neckline which was framed by a soft white fold over collar that was tied in a bow. The blazer jacket was tailored with a wide notched collar and gently shaped with princess seam in front and dart style in back. Her pants were pull-on style with a comfortable, neat-fitting elasticized waistline and were crème colored.
"-REALIZE HOW STUPID YOU ARE?" Her mother continued her rant. She wasn't even listening now considering it had been ten minutes and her mother was still going strong. She sure had some lungs on her.
Judy and Ron had decided to tell her parents together. That had been a mistake, Judy concluded. As soon as she uttered the word 'pregnant,' her father had looked at Ron with murderous eyes, grabbed his arm, and hoisted him to his feet and took him down stairs to the basement. She hadn't heard anything yet but that wasn't an indicator as her mother was being so loud that she probably drowned them out.
She felt a painful sting on her left cheek as she was pulled out of her retrieve and looked up at her mother who had slapped her, "Are you paying attention now?" Her mother asked in her infamously dangerous 'oh shit you're in trouble' tone.
Judy jerked her head in a nod, not trusting herself to speak.
"Use your grown up voice." Her mother commanded, "After all, you are going to be a parent."
Ohhh, she was in deep shit. She swallowed and stammered out, "Y-yes Ma'am."
"As I was saying," Her mother continued from were she left off. Judy didn't dare let her mind wander as her mother talked, "If you thought you could weisel yourself out of an education, you have been sorely mistaken. You will finish high school. You will go every single day. I don't care if you are being teased and bullied. This is your punishment. You and Ron will get married immediately. This child will not be born outside of wedlock, AM I CLEAR?" Her mother asked her.
Judy nodded and stated solemnly, "Yes Ma'am."
"You are also grounded until you get married. No friends, no parties."
With a nod, Judy whispered, "Yes Ma'am."
"And forget about that car we were going to get you for your 16th birthday. In fact, no birthday party at all! All your presents are now going to be clothes and furniture for the baby, understand?"
Judy bit her lip, trying not to let her mother see her cry, "Yes Ma'am."
She heard footsteps coming up the basement stairs. The door opened a bruised Ron stumbled through with her father, who looked smug, afterwards. Judy gasped at Ron's black right eye as well as a puffy and bleeding split lip. Her hands covered her mouth in shock. She never saw her father as someone violent. He was always so caring.
"Mr. Witwicky and I have come to an understanding." Her father draped his arm across Ron's shoulders. Ron tensed as her father continued, "Congratulations on your engagement!"
Ron and Judy got married in April of 1976. The entire town of Tranquility was confused but after five months it became apparent why they had married while still in high school.
Judy had been teased and bullied relentlessly by her peers. They called her names like bitch, cunt, slut and whore whenever they thought the teachers weren't listing. Judy had even heard some of her teachers talking about her. They dumbed down the language but Judy knew the essence of the conversation was the same ones her peers were having. That stung as Judy was a teacher's pet before this. Hearing her favorite English teacher badmouth her to her Maths teacher left her devastated.
Most of the days she had gone straight home from school and sobbed for an hour before straightening up and doing homework. Judy found she was graded harder than everyone else, as collective punishment from the teachers.
Ron's situation was only slightly better than hers. Ron had gotten kicked off the soccer team. His former teammates teased him about being a stud. His parents never trusted him with anything ever again.
Ron had gotten a job as a grocery bagger at the local farmer's market for an income. His parents refused to pay for anything. They were lucky that Judy's parents paid for the wedding. The money Ron had saved up was going for the house they were going to buy.
Tranquility, Nevada
1990
Jenna Witwicky was born on January 5th, 1977 to Mr. and Mrs. Witwicky. After Jenna was born, both Ron and Judy finished high school. Ron left his job at the farmer's market and went to work at the local factory while Judy ran a daycare for her neighborhood out of her house.
Both Ron and Judy were in love with Jenna at first sight. She was their pride and joy. It didn't matter what they went through during Judy's pregnancy. Jenna was their first born and was treated with love.
For the first ten years of Jenna's life, Ron and Judy had an unstable financial situation. This was the result of Judy getting pregnant in high school. They often didn't have enough money to cover the bills and Judy had to borrow from her parents. Luckly, hers still cared enough to agree to help their granddaughter, and thus daughter, out.
Then, when Jenna was 14, Ron was promoted in his work and in celebration, Jenna's brother was created.
September, 1991
Jenna knew that her Mom was giving birth in the room across from the chair. When her Dad, Ron Witwicky, had gotten the news that her mom was giving birth, he left work and took her out of school to drive her to the hospital.
Her Dad was pacing back and forth as her mom's screams imminated throughout the door. The doctor had thrown them both out as they were getting in the way.
Jenna was used to being the only child. She didn't know how to react when her Mom said she was pregnant. But she saw that in the months leading up to the birth her parents paid her attention less. She knew that when the baby came, she would be thrown by the wayside.
She had seen it happen to her best friend, Kari Duncan. She was the oldest last year but then her baby sister came and she was forgotten.
Jenna bit her lip and folded her hands in between her knees and glanced at her Dad, who was pacing the waiting area. She had never seen her Dad so… angsty.
Eventually her Dad noticed her glances and crouched down in front of her, "Jenna, what's wrong?"
She shook her head.
Dad gave her The Look. "Jenna Rose Witwicky."
Jenna sighed at the use of her full name and lowered her head, "You'll forget me." She mumbled.
Her Dad still heard. He took her hands in his, "Jenna. Jen, look at me." She raised her head. She had a hard time holding back her tears, "What makes you think you will ever be forgotten?"
She swallowed, "Kari. Janett was born and her parents don't care about her anymore."
Dad sighed, "Jenna, trust me. We will never, ever forget you. You have my promise." A Witwicky promise. Jenna smiled. She knew Witwickys kept their promises. "But… what about Kari?"
"Jenna. We can't tell other parents how to raise their own children." Jen began to look down again but lifted her head up when her Dad spoke again, "Just… just be the best friend that you can be."
"Mr. Witwicky?" A doctor called out. Dad stood quickly and Jenna hopped to her feet, swinging her blue book bag over her shoulder.
"I'm the husband." Dad said, holding Jen's hand and walking over to the doctor. Jenna noticed that the nametag on the white coat was a Dr. Morison.
He smiled, "Your wife is just fine. She had a healthy baby boy at 12:34 pm."
"Take us to her." Dad practically ordered.
University of Maryland, College Park
May 2002
Throughout High School Jenna was on the Academic Decathlon and Track teams. Her senior year she was President of the Decathlon team. She wasn't Valedictorian though, that honor was received by her academic rival and residential bitch Kimberly Chaviz. She did, however, manage to get Salutatorian.
Jenna Witwicky had stunned her parents when she had announced that she had gotten into the University of Maryland. They had thrown her a huge party and practically invented the entire neighborhood to celebrate. She was the first Witwicky ever to go to college. And on top of that she got a full scholarship.
She completed her double major of Information Management and History in 1999 and was accepted into the University of Maryland's Archive Master's degree in 2000.
It was now May of 2002 and Jenna Witwicky had just completed her Master's degree. Jenna was walking down the building's hallways with her friends, laughing and discussing their final thesis presentations that had just taken place.
A tall and skinny man stopped them in the hallway. He had on a black suit and dark tinted sunglasses. He took off the sunglasses and tucked them into his jacket pocket. "Are you Ms. Witwicky?"
Jenna looked to her friends who were just as confused as she was, "Yes, I'm her."
"I attended the thesis presentations for the Archives Master degree." Oh, Jenna thought. He wanted to talk about her presentation. "May we talk somewhere to discuss business?"
Jenna wanted to squeal with joy. She was being offered a job! "Sure! We can go to our classroom. I'm sure that's still open."
"Very well." The man replied. They walked in silence before Jenna opened the unlocked classroom door, turned on the lights and led the man inside. She was smart enough to keep the door open. The man noticed that and he gave a small smirk before schooling his features, "Ms. Witwicky. I was impressed with your presentation on classification and metadata of unusual objects." He leaned against one of the tables, "I am here to offer you a job." He held out a business card.
Jenna took it and looked down.Seymour Simmons. A few paces below that was an organization called Sector Seven. Below that was a phone number 1-702-404-2537. "I've never heard of Sector Seven before."
Simmons grinned, "If you had, I'd be worried."
5 miles outside of Mission City, Nevada
August 2006
Soft giggling cut through the silence of the muggy evening. It was hot and sticky. All sorts of chirping bugs were starting to come out to sing as the sun grew lower and lower in Nevada's sky. This was the last evening that the couple would have alone together until the man would go off on a military tour.
A feminine gasp. Then came, "Will!" in a slightly accusatory slash playful tone. Then a bit stronger, "Will, please."
The man called Will sat back from the woman, breathless, "Honey, I'm not going to be able to see you for a year. I won't be able to hold you, to touch you, to kiss you. It…" Will swallowed and seemed to search for the right words, "I want to spend every moment until I get on that plane, with you, Jenna. Jen, my lovely wife. Please."
Jenna Lennox neé Witwicky held up her hand and brought it to the side of her husband's cheek, running her thumb through his rough and scratchy, growing, beard. She smiled sadly, the unshed tears threatening to fall, held back by her stubbornness, "My Will. I just…." Julia bit her lip, seemingly struggling not to start crying, "I don't want you to go." She got up out of her chair and fell forward into her husband's strong grip and began to silently cry, "It just feels different this time."
This was the first time that Will was leaving her for more than a few months. The most Will had been gone for was five. This time it was a whole year. It was more difficult than she had imagined. Usually Will was transferred from base to base inside the U.S., so she knew he would be safe. But this time he would be going to Qatar in the Middle East.
"I know." Will mumbled, rubbing her back with the palm of her hand. He set his chin on top of Jenna's left shoulder and Jenna could feel the warm breath of her husband breathing down her neck. Jenna closed her eyes and breathed in, hoping to remember this feeling and wishing that it would last forever, but knowing that it would not, "But I have to go darling. The military it's… it's my duty. I can't abandon my men."
Jenna drew back and looked Will in the eyes, refusing to wipe off her wet face, "I know. I won't never, ever, make you choose Will. Just, promise me one thing."
"Anything."
"Please, be safe. Don't… don't take any unnecessary risks. I want you back in one piece."
Will gave a smile, "Of course, Jenna. I… I promise."
Jenna caught the hesitation and eyed her husband with narrow eyes, "Are you sure?"
Will closed his eyes then opened them again and whispered, "Promise." Jenna leaned in and kissed Will for a long while and only broke apart when they both needed air, "Bedroom?" Will asked seductively.
Jenna breathed out, "Yes."
Tranquility, Navada
September 2007
It had been almost a year since her husband, William Lennox, had left for a military tour in Qatar. Of course, her job kept her busy but her bed was always empty and her back cold during the night. She twisted her wedding ring around her finger. She always wondered what Will would think of her job. Of course, she couldn't tell him what she actually did.
She worked for Sector Seven, or S-7 for short. Yes, she worked for a shadow agency of the government. Seymour Simmons had recruited her five years ago. At first it was weird how they basically recruited an archivist into a spy agency. But then she realised why she was there.
Simmons had told her about her great, great grandfather Captain Archibald Witwicky. How he had fallen through the ice to make the greatest discovery of humankind. Aliens. They weren't alone. This small fact was dwarfed when, a year later, Simmons showed her the crown jewels of Sector Seven. NBE 1 and a gigantic alien cube.
It was her duty to store and classify every piece of document and item created and used by S-7 from the Cube. She had an entire archives room and storage facility to herself. She also got paid extremely well. Well enough that at the age of 30 she could fully retire and live to an old age without ever having to work again.
But she didn't. She loved working at S-7. She loved working with alien technology. Other beings. She had developed a respect for NBE-1's race since she worked there. It was a problem once and awhile, however, as most of Sector Seven despised the aliens. They thought since they had total governmental authority, they could harvest whatever they wanted. Simmons and Jenna clashed ideals frequently, but they still managed to be cordial to one another.
Jenna sighed and pulled her car into the suburban neighborhood where her family lived. She had the weekend off and wanted to surprise them. It was early morning, around six-fifteen on a Friday. She hoped to catch Sam before he went to school this morning. Jenna knew that Sam had a report this afternoon and needed to get an A in order to earn his first car. She wanted to be there for that. She had missed so much of his life already while she worked hours away at the Hoover Dam.
She pulled into her driveway, turned the car off and got out quietly. The morning sun was still on it's way up. She snuck around the house and opened the back door carefully. She sighed as she found it unlocked. Shaking her head she let herself into the quiet house. She heard movement upstairs and knew that her parents would be down in a couple of minutes. Sam would follow shortly after. While she waited, she poured herself a bowl of cereal and milk, sat down at the kitchen table and began to eat.
Dad came down first. He came to a screeching halt and looked her over in shock, his mouth opened and closed but no sound came out. Jenna had on black work pants and a white top. Her black jacket hung over the chair.
"Jenna!" Her Dad yelped in shock, rushing forward to hug her.
She stood up and hugged him back, "Hey Dad."
"Wha-what are you doing here? I thought you didn't have any more vacation days this year."
Jenna smirked, "I lied. I wanted to surprise you guys."
"I've missed you." Dad said.
"Me too Dad." Jenna replied.
"Ron? Who're you talking to?" Her Mom came down the steps and gave a loud squeal, dropping her purse on the floor and running to give her a hug.
Jenna laughed, "Hey! Careful! Air!"
"Ah. Sorry." Her mom apologized, not sounding sorry at all, "When did you get here?"
"Just now. Wanted to surprise Sam on his big day."
Her Dad made his way over to the coffee machine. "Yeah, that's if he gets his A."
Sam came down dressed, bleary-eyed, "Of course I will Dad. Morning Mom, Jenna." He nodded and grabbed the cereal and poured some out.
Her Mom laughed, "He'll notice, give him a couple of seconds."
The cereal kept on pouring to the point of overflowing as Sam sat there, seemingly in shock. Then, "Jenna!"
Jenna laughed as Sam spilled the cereal everywhere as he rushed to give her a hug. "Finally! What, you don't notice your big sister?"
"Big? Pretty small to me." Sam said as he towered a foot over her.
Jenna waked him in the shoulder and Sam grabbed it with an exaggerated, "Ouch!" He rubbed his arm. "Jenna!" Sam whined. "Mom, Dad, Jenna hit me!"
Dad just shook his head, "Behave, or no car Mister."
That shut Sam up, who pouted but went back to his cereal. "What are you doing here?" Sam asked with his mouth full so it actually came out as, "wh-ch-a doin he-ar?"
"It's your first car, Sam."
"Yeah right, what's the real reason?"
Jenna sighed, "It's true!"
"Sam!" Their Mom called from the other room, "Time to go or you will miss the bus!"
"Don't worry, I'll drive you in today." Jenna said, standing up.
Sam pumped his fist, "Yeah!"
An hour later, after she had driven Sam to school, she had set up with her laptop, ready to Skype-call her husband. Both her Dad and Mom had gone to work, leaving the house all to herself. The call finally connected. It was morning here in Tranquility but it was late evening where Will was in Qatar.
Sergeant Donovan answered the Skype call, "This is Qatar. Hey Mrs. Lennox! How are you doing?'
Jenna smiled at the sight of one of Will's comrades, "Everything's fine here. I'm back at home in Tranquility, paying a visit to my family. Is Will there?"
She saw the Sergeant look around, "Yeah, should be. His helicopter landed a couple of minutes ago. You mind waiting alone? I have other things to work on."
"Yeah, no problem." Jenna said. The Sergeant rushed off to the other side of the room. She couldn't see much of the base from her point of view, just an open hanger door and lots of sand. Suddenly she heard Will's voice.
"Hey, my girl on?"
"Yes, Captain." Came Sargent Donovan's confirmation.
"Hey, hey, hey! How's my girl?"
Jenna smiled at the appearance of Will's face. It felt so long since she had last seen him, even though it was only a couple of months since their last Skype-call, "Hi Will!"
Will scanned the screen, taking in her background, "You're at your parent's house?"
"Yeah. I'm visiting Tranquility for a couple of days. Sam hopes to get his first car today."
An understanding look crossed over his face, "You feel like you're missing out on his life, aren't you."
Jenna breathed out, "You know me so well, Will. Yeah. It's just, I work and live five hours away. I'm missing so much of his life."
"It's not your fault, you know that, right? Not your fault." Will said the last part stronger than the first.
"Yeah, I know. Will, I miss you."
"I know baby, I know." Will said softly, "One more month. One more month and that's it."
Jenna laughed a watery laugh, "Yeah, I know. I can't wait for you to be home in my arms."
"One month will be gone before you know it baby."
Jenna gave Will a watery smile. Then the Skype-call flashed black for a second and Will's face disappeared then reappeared but the skype call was distorted. She leaned forward, concerned, "Will? Will what's happening?"
Will appeared to slap the edges of the computer and she could make out, "Jenna? Hey Jenna, if you can hear me I love you and I'll be home soon!" Then the Skype-call shorted out to a blue screen and she couldn't get a connection back.
"Damn it!" Jenna slammed her right fist on the table.
'Before time began, there was the Cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born. For a time we lived in harmony, but like all great power, some wanted it for good, and others for evil. And so began the war, a war that has ravished our planet until it was consumed by death, and the Cube was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home, searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, a message of a new discovery drew us to an unknown planet called Earth. But we were already too late.'
