Hi there everyone. I know this isn't the new chapter that you would have all been expecting, but I wanted to reach and say a few things before I head out.
First thing's first, I am working on the next chapter. It's looking to be a pretty long one, so it's going to take some time before it's out and ready. My goal is to get it out within the next couple of weeks, by the start of August at the very latest. And since this is the chapter that will put my story over 100k words (my longest story by far), I am looking forward to getting it out.
Another thing I wanted to do while I have all of you here. In the last chapter, I introduced a possible solution to the issue of the Fire Lord. For those who may have forgotten, Vaatu is very open to the idea of revolution.
Right now, I want to hear all of your opinions. Since I've started this story, I have had a variety of different possibilities thrown my way about how Zuko and his crew could deal with the issue of succession and how to fix the Fire Nation's leadership. Some still want Zuko to be Fire Lord, others are open to an Azula redemption arc, and others are cool waiting for Iroh to be in charge until Zuko has available children.
And in the last chapter, another idea was supplied.
Right now, I would like anyone who hasn't voiced their opinions to please do so. I have the actual plot of the story more or less set out, but I am wondering what all of you think. How would you prefer the Fire Lord to be dealt with in this universe?
Also, since I feel like being nice, I have a small look for the next chapter.
Zuko woke up when he felt something hit him in the side of his waist. Open his eye, he saw that it was Druk's wing unfurling, hitting Zuko's side slightly.
The dragon had grown in the time they had traveled from Gaoling to this swamp. When he had first hatched, his body wasn't even the length of Zuko's arm. Now he was almost as long as Zuko's whole body. The length from his nose to his tail tip stopped just short of Zuko's feet. And his body was getting thicker too, no longer as thin as a noodle. Now built like a long and strong snake with feet and wings, Zuko wondered just how impressive he would look at full size.
He had heard stories of great dragons as a child. Hard to believe he had one that would one day match those stories. He also wondered how he would ride Druk. Logically, getting on his neck and hanging on would be an easy way to do it. But that sounded dangerous, and Zuko would much prefer to use a saddle.
Deciding not to wake him up yet, Zuko got dressed and headed outside the tent.
Go ahead and leave reviews, and I will see you all when the full chapter is ready. Until next time!
Bye!
