- Son of a bitch...

Lee said in a whisper, gritting his teeth in anger and looking around for something he could break. However, he just sighed when he saw that there was nothing in that cell besides the uncomfortable armchairs.

Running his hand through his hair, he shook his head slightly and bit his lower lip. He had such a desire to kill Ed that it was almost unreal.

- How long before that group arrives, Ken? I mean, any idea? Anything at all?

Lee asked, looking at Kenny for a moment, before looking away again.

- They should be here by now. Maybe they are looking for the best way in. I don't know, anything can happen out there.

He said, crossing his arms and leaning his back against the wall, sighing ruefully as he saw a confused Molly beside him.

- Where is Carley? She came with you, didn't she?

The woman asked, and Kenny ran his hand over his face.

- Dead... that asshole killed her.

He said, still trying to process the fact that she was gone. They had spent so much time together, not to mention that she had saved Duck, so in a way, he owed her.

However, he could no longer repay her for what she did now. Because of that piece of shit Ed.

- Fuck...

Molly said after a while, crossing her arms and staring at the ground for a few moments.

- Tomorrow he'll be back, surely... I won't wait more than a day now.

Lee said, leaning on the sink in the corner of the cell and staring at the pipe below. It wasn't exactly a weapon... but...

- What? What do you mean?

Kenny asked, looking at Lee with a raised eyebrow.

- Exactly what I said. This lunatic might kill one of us next time. I'll wait, at most, and this is being very generous, until tomorrow. If they don't show up, I'll risk everything and start killing anyone I see.

Lee said, grumbling softly and turning around after seeing that that pipe wouldn't help much. Besides, he didn't have an easily accessible place to hide it.

- Who's the crazy shirtless guy?

Molly asked softly to Kenny, who sighed.

- That's Lee. And that's Clementine.

He said, and the woman stared at him with an arched eyebrow.

- "That" Lee and "that" Clementine?

She asked awkwardly, and Kenny nodded in agreement.

- Are you planning to kill everyone?

Clementine asked, looking at Lee.

- If I can.

He replied.

- Whoa, easy there, Rambo. What do you plan to do?

Molly asked, putting her hands on her waist as she stared at him.

- He and I have a little conflict between 're going to be alone, me, Clem, him, and some guards. I'm going to kill them, even if I have to shoot some people.

Lee said, staring again at the sink. A pipe would not be easy to hide, and not very practical, but something sharp enough to be used as a blade might do the trick.

- Lee, as much as I support you killing everyone, it's no good. The whole community will hear you.

Kenny said with a sigh.

- So will the runners. And the building where his office is is right near the entrance. Besides, I don't have to shoot them in the head. A few scattered runners will buy me the time I need to create another distraction.

Lee said, pulling the pipe out from under the sink and looking around. With some effort, he could break it off and make a point sharp enough to pierce a neck. And in case it doesn't work, he knows where the machete is in Ed's office.

- That puts you at too great a risk. Not to mention, who's to say you'll make it to the entrance?

Clementine said, making it clear that she was uncomfortable with the idea.

- We're already taking too big a risk, Clem. This is part of our lives. And I'd rather take my chances like this, than stay here and wait for that son of a bitch to do whatever he wants with us.

Lee said, grumbling angrily as he forgot, once again, that he had lost his hand.

- Look, I agree, we have to get out of here in case they can't get in. But we need a better plan than... just shooting around.

Molly said, alternating her gaze between Clementine, and Lee.

- A plan? Simple. Ed told me he's going to call Clementine and me, since he wants her to see me suffer. I start a fight, she gets his machete, we kill them all. If any of them shoot, I stay behind and she goes to the entrance gates. I'll see if I can leave the building in flames and meet her in one of the alleys near the entrance, and then we'll come to let you go. Simple.

Lee said, running his hand through his hair with some force, in nervousness and anxiety.

Molly just stared at him for a while, a strange gleam in her eyes.

- What about Aj?

Clementine asked.

- We'll get Ed to talk, and if he doesn't, I know who the woman is who took him. I'll go to her and get him back.

Lee said, taking a few deep breaths. He had never felt this way, not even after the apocalypse had begun. And he knew that this frustration, this anger was getting in the way of his logical thinking. But he couldn't stop it from happening.

He just couldn't. As calm and rational as he was, this was too much to simply not be affected. He was not a machine, at the end of the day, he was just a human.

And humans commit actions based on their emotions.

- Look, Lee, you're not thinking straight. I understand, he cut out your eye and your hand, he hurt Clem, and the baby you were caring for was taken from you. Anyone would be like that, no matter how strong they are. So... rest easy, buddy, calm down, and we'll talk about it tomorrow.

Kenny said in a gentle tone, moving a few steps closer to Lee, and feeling Molly's gaze on his back.

- He's right, Lee. You need to calm down.

Clementine said, and Lee put his hand to his face, and a wry laugh escaped his lips.

He knew they were right, but he just couldn't calm down, not after all this.

In fact, he was even a little surprised at how calm Clementine seemed to be. Although, he had always known she had a strong mind.

- I will calm down when Ed is dead, when Aj is in my arms, and when we are long gone from here... ok... I will try to "calm down".

Lee said, still with a hint of anger in his voice. He walked a few steps forward and sat down in one of the armchairs.

He was not going to calm down, and he knew it. He knew himself well enough to be prepared.

- From what you've said, it sounds like Ed has a specific rage against the big guy over there.

Molly said, looking at Kenny, who turned to her and sighed.

- More than that. I told you about that guy who was part of my group, didn't I? Ed.

Kenny said, and the woman's eyes widened slightly.

- Oh... "that" Ed... what a small world.

She said, looking at Lee once more. He was a rather... scary man. Big, with scars all over his rugged body, a long beard, and his visible features were serious. He certainly was scary, especially with the scars on his face.

- So... he's not always temperamental like this, is he?

The woman asked again.

- What? No. Actually, this is the first time I've seen him like this. And I can't blame him. You heard the reasons yourself. And there are some other things you don't know about.

he said, running his hand through his hair once more.

- Well, we'd better get some rest too. With that lunatic, I don't doubt anything anymore.

Kenny said, turning and walking to a far corner, while Molly watched as Clementine sat in an armchair next to Lee and talked quietly about something with the man.

The next morning came quickly for some, and slowly for others. Lee was already on his feet, staring at the door, just waiting to be opened.

There was no window in that cell, so this was the only interesting place to stare at. Beside him, Clementine was sitting on the floor with her back to the wall.

During the night he thought a lot about the things that happened, and although it was a good trigger for the intensity of his anger to increase, it was also good for him to regain reason in his thoughts.

What happened yesterday was just a slip, a mistake caused by the heat of the moment. Although, there were parts of that plan he hastily made that made him somewhat interested.

There was another way to know where Aj was.

After some time, the door was finally opened, and Ed was the first to enter the cell, with a rather downcast expression, much to Lee's happiness.

- Well, I had planned some activities today between some of us. But, Kenny and Molly, you will be pleased to know that our guards caught some interesting people who were hanging around the walls last night.

Ed said, and both of them widened their eyes.

- Oh, those are the exact expressions I imagined they would make. How cute. Clint wants a word with you, with all of you. Then we'll have to save our meeting for another day, Lee, Clem.

Ed said, and they both just shook their heads.

- Before we go, Clementine and I need to see the doctor in this place.

Lee said, leaning slightly away from the wall and looking at Ed, who arched an eyebrow.

- Okay... why?

- Why? Jesus, I'm the one who lost an eye here, but apparently, you're the blind one. None of us got the proper treatment after our little... party. I want to at least take a look. You don't want us to get an infection, do you?

Lee said, crossing his arms. At least he didn't lose his arm completely, he could still do some things.

Push-ups, for example, although it was rather uncomfortable, and still hurt depending on the way he did them.

- Lee, what you said makes sense, but, do I have to remind you that I know you are a very good liar? You will die at the end of all this. Tell me, what do you really want?

Ed asked, and Lee rolled his eyes in irritation.

- Fucking hell, I want to bake a fucking cake. I'm going to the fucking infirmary not the fucking armory, you fucking asshole! And you want me to risk getting an infection? For crying out loud, what a pathetic way to die!

Lee said, feigning irritation. A fine actor, by the way.

Ed arched an eyebrow, and sighed slightly.

- Well, I don't want my daughter to suffer any consequences for this lack of care. And even though I hate you, I want to kill you myself. Call for some more guards to accompany the two of them. And be on the lookout.

Ed said, turning to the three guards behind him, and watching as one of them turned and went up the stairs.

- Okay, the rest of you, come with us. You have a few jobs to do before Clint makes his little speech. Since I killed our dear friend Carley, her job is now yours.

Ed said with a cynical smile, laughing slightly when Kenny pointed his middle finger at him.

After a while, a few more guards appeared, and the two of them left the cell.

As they walked up the stairs, Clementine noticed that woman, Ava, in the park ahead, and just hoped the woman would ignore her. She felt like a fool for treating the woman that way.

But not because she was sorry for her rudeness, not really, fuck those people. But because she could find out more about that place if she had an ally in there.

The girl sighed slightly at her own mistake. She should have thought of that sooner.

But then again, she had just had her eye put out by a crazy person, so it was understandable why she was so rude.

After a while, they entered another building, and a little more walking later, they finally reached the infirmary.

As they entered, they ran their eyes around. There was a lot of medicine scattered around, as well as numerous medical instruments.

Up ahead, there was a pale, tired-looking man with deep, red eyes. From the looks of the doctor, they should be afraid to be treated there.

- Ah, who are they?

The doctor asked when he saw them, getting up from the chair he was in.

- Ed wants you to take a look at these wounds.

One of the guards said, and the doctor approached. The first thing he checked was the eyes of both of them, making a slight grimace.

-... How did this happen?

he asked, turning around.

- Ed ripped it out.

Lee answered simply, and the doctor stared at him incredulously.

- What?

- Exactly what you heard.

Clementine replied, crossing her arms and glaring at Lee, until they both moved to a corner on the opposite side from where the doctor was standing.

- Woa, don't move!

one of the guards said, grabbing Lee by the shoulder.

- The light is bothering. The corner is darker.

Lee made up an excuse, staring at the guard coldly.

- I don't care, don't move!

The guard insisted, and Lee just stared at him.

- If the light bothers you, then... did he do something else?

The doctor asked, and Lee nodded, turning away from the man after seeing that he lowered his guard.

- But... but that's not allowed. It shouldn't be allowed.

The doctor said, looking down with a slightly lost look, although he looked more frustrated than anything else. It was as if he was used to this by now, and tired of always dealing with the same thing.

Neither Lee nor Clementine gave a damn what he said, they both just looked at each other as they got into position.

The guards were now no longer behind them, but beside them, and one behind the other.

Quickly, Lee advances against the guard and pushes him strongly backwards, crashing both men's bodies into the wall.

Clementine took the pipe she had hidden under her shirt and hit the guard being crushed by the other, while Lee punched the first one.

After seeing that both had passed out, Clementine closes the door, while Lee picks up the pipe and walks towards the doctor, who was backing away, however, there was not much fear on his face.

- You shouldn't have done that... Clint can let it go, but Joan won't be happy.

The doctor said in a tired tone, and didn't seem to care much about what the two of them did, as strange as it was.

- Fuck it. Tell us what we want to know, and we'll be on our way.

Lee said, and the doctor sighed slightly, and sat back in his chair.

- I'm not afraid of death... if you haven't noticed, I don't seem very happy to be alive.

The doctor said through a tired sigh, and Lee arched an eyebrow.

- I realize... which is strange, this place has everything.

Lee said, and Clementine stood right next to him.

- Oh, it doesn't matter... this place is broken. I assume that you are here because of what Ed did to you, right? And now you want to get out of here.

The doctor said.

- That too. But the reason is different, we were brought here with a child, a boy, two years old. Where are the children taken?

Lee asked, and the doctor rested his head on his hand, looking at Lee with a strange look.

- A child, you say... you plan to take him back before you leave, huh?

- Yes, now tell me.

- You might have to kill some people.

- You bet I will.

-... I can't tell, then. Some of these people just want to live in peace.

- Live in peace? Don't make me laugh. This place is full of crazy people. Full of people who don't hesitate to shoot little girls, or kidnap children!

Lee said, slightly irritated, and the doctor sighed.

- I won't go against it... but some of these people don't know about these atrocities. They just follow orders, the people who take care of the children are an example of that.

The doctor said, and this time, it was Lee who sighed.

- Ok... look doctor, I won't kill anyone if I don't have to. All I want is to get that boy back. He's safer out there than in here with all these sons of bitches.

Lee said, looking over his shoulder at the guards. It was a good opportunity to get those guns, but he wouldn't have much to do after that.

The doctor looked thoughtful for a while, until he sighed in defeat.

- They are in the old town hall. That building just in front of the park, in case you hadn't noticed. But they don't stay here for very long, exactly because there are some people here who are not the best kind of people in the world. Maybe he is still there.

The doctor said, and they both sighed slightly.

Although the chance that he might not be there worried them, it was already a relief to know where he had been taken.

- And they are taken where? Out of the community?

Clementine asked, putting her hand on her waist.

- Yes, a farm. It's safer there for the children, the people are good. Clint made up an excuse to explain this to people who are not involved with the black part of the community. So the people there have no idea of the atrocities that happen here.

He replied, closing his eyes slightly as he heard footsteps approaching.

Clementine and Lee turned quickly and pulled the bodies into a hidden corner of the infirmary, and returned to their seats before the doors were opened and two guards appeared.

- Ed sent us, said you were taking too long... where are the guards that should be with you?

a woman asked.

- They just left, and haven't come back yet.

Clementine answered, walking towards them.

- They delayed because I had to take a good look deep into their eyes to see if there was any other damage.

The doctor explained, getting up from his chair and looking at the guards, who stared at him in silence.

-... Ok... well, since those two worthless idiots aren't back yet, let's take them with us. Let's go.

The woman said, and they both left the infirmary, not before looking gratefully at the doctor.
