NOTE: The sudden updates were from me fixing somethings from the previous chapters don't mind them too much. Also, if the fights in this chapter feel short, then that's from me wanting to finish this quest. These are early game quests, so they don't need to take up too much time. I also won't have chapters of them doing every quest, because that would be tedious and some of these are pretty repetitive. Any Quest chapters will be of ones that I deem important for them do for level ups.
Enjoy the chapter and review!
Chapter 7: Master and Student!? Finish the Quest!
Wendy observed the little boy who floated down with Piccolo, surprised to see Gohan of all people. "That's Gohan? I didn't recognize him." The boy looked a bit different from when she viewed him through the scroll. Even though he hadn't aged, he looked a bit more muscular and his eyes a bit sharper.
"Piccolo hasn't changed at all. Though, there seems to be a stronger air of power around him," Erza said as she kept her eyes on the Namekian.
Krillin got up from the grass and flew over to the teacher-student duo. "Piccolo? Gohan? What are you guys doing here?" Krillin asked.
"We sensed some weird power while training," Gohan answered the bald monk.
"Hmph, and by the looks of it, this may have been a waste of time," Piccolo announced. Unimpressed by the females in front of him. All three took offense to that statement, Erza specifically.
Still clad in her Black Wing Armor, Erza brandished her blades. "If that's what you believe then allow me to prove you wrong," Erza declared. Piccolo scoffed and unfolded his arms.
"Seems a fool wants to be sent to an early grave. Gohan, you can deal with the other two. I'm sure it'll be adequate training for you," Piccolo instructed as he got into a stance.
Erza did the same, an aura of ferocity surrounding her body. Soon enough both vanished into thin air. Booms could be heard in the sky above the arena as the two clashed in the air.
"Seems Erza's more enthusiastic this time," Lucy sweatdropped. Wendy nodded in agreement that Erza seemed to be more into this mission than before.
"Uh?"
Their heads snapped towards Gohan, who flinched back a bit from the sudden eye contact. Getting into a stance the smaller boy looked ready to fight. "You guys don't seem like bad people and my mom always told me not to hit girls, but Mr. Piccolo told me to fight and I have to become stronger."
"Why do you need to become stronger, Gohan?" Lucy asked.
"In a year, these really strong guys are gonna appear to attack Earth. Mr. Piccolo is training me to fight, so I can't let him down!" Gohan shouted with conviction.
Wendy felt a warm smile tug on her lips, the young Dragon Slayer felt a connection with the young Demi-Saiyan. Being the youngest of the group and wanting to grow strong enough to fight with them. The young girl got into a stance to face off with the young Saiyan.
"Lucy, I'll handle this on my own. Is that ok?" Wendy asked her friend.
Lucy shrugged her shoulders and walked off the stage. "That's fine with me, I didn't want to fight anymore after fighting that pervert. And I couldn't bring myself to hurt such a cute kid," Lucy complimented Gohan. Making the child blush in embarrassment.
Once Lucy was out of the way, Gohan and Wendy pounced at one another. The female Dragon Slayer sent a sweeping kick towards Gohan. He jumped out of the way and sent his own kick into her jaw, sending her reeling back.
Wiping away the trickle of blood that escaped from the cut on her lip, Wendy was surprised at the strength of Gohan. "For someone so young, he's this strong already. That's pretty cool!" Wendy thought.
Gohan charged right back at her with a flurry of punches aimed at her face. Her arms blocked each strike from Gohan, however he was pushing her back towards the edge of the ring. Even though this fight was no longer a part of the tournament, Wendy didn't feel like giving the boy too much ground.
She caught both of his fists, surprising the child. Wendy spun him around before tossing the child into the air, where he tried to steady himself. Gathering wind around her and jumps into the air. "Sky Dragon's Leading Sky Arrow!" Thrusting her leg forward, an arrow-like pressure of wind flew directly at Gohan.
The boy crossed his arms, blocking the attack from hitting him. Wendy used this opportunity to grab the boy by his GI and throw him back towards the ground.
Gohan landed on his feet and quickly moved out of the way to dodge Wendy's next kick. Both of them separated to gather themselves.
"What was that?" Gohan asked.
"What do you mean?" Wendy responded with her own question.
"You shot wind at me. That doesn't seem possible, though considering all I've seen I shouldn't be saying that," Gohan said.
"It's called magic, Gohan. My friends and I can use our own variations of magic, I'm a Sky Dragon Slayer," Wendy told him.
"Wow! You can slay dragons!? That's so cool!" Gohan's childlike wonder came forth. Wendy blushed at the praise the boy was giving her.
"Thanks, Gohan."
CRASH
Both of the young fighters looked over towards the crash and saw Erza getting up from the crater. Her armor cracking and blood pouring down her face. Grunting in agitation, Erza's body started to glow. "Requip: Armadura Fairy!" Her body was now covered in pink armor with two identical swords with hand-guards that resembled wings.
"GOHAN!"
The boy flinched at the gruff voice that shouted his name, he looked up to see his mentor floating above them. "I didn't train you, so you can stand around for idle chatter! Hurry up and continue fighting!" Piccolo commanded.
"Y-Yes, Mr. Piccolo!" Gohan stammered.
Erza saw the boy flinch from the tone and was going to say something, until Gohan got into another stance. She saw the fire burning in the child's eyes as he stared down Wendy. "Even though he seems timid, Gohan has that fighting spirit in him. Stay on your toes, Wendy."
Erza jumped from the arena floor and clashed with Piccolo once more. "Don't you think you were a bit rough with him?" She grunted as she dodged a strike from him.
"What's it to you? Gonna give me advice on how to train my student?" Piccolo replied as he pushed her blades back. "Gohan doesn't need any coddling!" He shouted and sent a kick towards her abdomen.
Using her blades to block the kick, she met the Namekian's eyes. "I have no issue with tough training or strict teachings." She flipped over the Namekian and sent a double slash towards his back, which only managed to cut his cape. "But, allowing him to rest and have fun is also important!"
"Hmph, you sound like someone I know. And those reasons are exactly why I refuse to coddle him. He needs to be ready for anything!" Piccolo double axe kicked Erza away from him. He stretched his arm out to catch her by the leg and slam her down into the ground.
"Gah!" He cried out as his hand was sliced off. Erza rushed back towards him in a flash, her blades swinging with extra speed, not allowing Piccolo to regrow the limb.
Back on the ground, the young ones had initiated their fight once more. Gohan strikes Wendy with a strong punch to her gut, causing her to cough out spit. She attempted to swing in retaliation, but his small size made it hard for her to hit.
Gohan kicked Wendy in the back, sending her across the ring. Placing both of his hands up to his forehead. A surge of ki began to build in his palms. "Masenko-HA!" Extending his arms forward, a beam of energy shot out of hands and towards Wendy.
It hit her dead on, creating an explosion in the arena. Lucy gaped at the scene in front of her, shocked by Gohan having such strength.
Gohan released a sigh of relief as there was no sign of Wendy within the smoke. Suddenly, wind began to build up around the arena. He looked around the area to find Wendy, but couldn't find her. Then, he used his senses to try and find her, snapping his eyes open as Wendy began to descend upon him with swirls of wind surrounding her arms.
"Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!" The twin tornadoes of wind slammed into the young Saiyan. Gohan cried out in pain from the force of the attack. He tried to force himself up, but the currents were too strong for his smaller body to fight through.
He gathered balls of energy into his hands and glared at the rapidly approaching female. "HRAAAHHH!" He shot a large blast of ki at her.
Wendy infused her hand with more wind to create another large tornado inside of the one they were currently in. "Sky Dragon's Wave Wind!" The newly formed tornado met Gohan's attack head-on. Creating a large explosion that shook the arena.
Lucy covered her face to prevent any wind or debris from hitting her. When she looked back at the scene, the dust had cleared. On the ground was Gohan, he was breathing heavily and seemed to be completely exhausted. Wendy landed on the ring floor, breathing heavily, but in much better shape than Gohan.
Wendy walked up to the exhausted Demi-Saiyan and kneeled down to him. She placed a hand on Gohan's head and ruffled his messy hair. "That was a good fight, Gohan. I'm sure you'll get stronger."
"Explosive Wave!" An explosion of energy rocked the air around the sky. Piccolo generates a dangerous amount of power to hit Erza.
The scarlet knight barely managed to get out of the attack range from Piccolo's explosion. Her armor now cracked and one of her swords shattered. She quickly summoned another sword to take its place.
"So, you managed to survive that one?" Piccolo cracked his neck.
Erza's glare hardened. "It's going to take more than that to defeat me."
"Hmph, seems I was wrong with my earlier statement. You are worth the time coming here," Piccolo took off his cape and turban. Both items of clothing drop to the ground with a thud, causing a realization to go through Erza's head.
"He was wearing weighted clothing. He was holding back this entire time. Fine, I'll drop the armor too," Erza's body shined once more and she was once more wearing her Clear Heart Clothing. A singular blade in her hands.
Piccolo smirked at the scarlet woman. "If you're done with the outfit changes, then let's begin the final round!" Piccolo charged at her, extending an open palm and launching a ki blast.
Erza jumped over the blast, rolled mid-air, and swung her blade down at the Namekian. Piccolo pulled himself back in time to dodge the blade, he flipped over the knight to kick her in the back. Erza spun herself around in time to block the kick with the side of her blade.
Backing up to gain some space, Erza swung her blade repeatedly. Piccolo dodged each slice, and retaliated with his own pointed strikes, pushing Erza back once more.
Cementing her feet into the earth, Erza stabbed her blade into Piccolo's fist, the blade digging deep through his arm. Piccolo grunted in pain from the sudden attack.
Using this to her advantage, Erza sent multiple punches into his face, knocking Piccolo's head back with each one. Having enough, Piccolo caught one of her fists, pulled her close, and kicked her in the abdomen.
Not letting the pain stop her, Erza used her other arm to tear her sword out of Piccolo's arm. She then slashed it across his chest, drawing purple blood. Both of them backed off from each other, breathing heavily.
Piccolo glared angrily and placed two fingers up to his forehead, charging up a fierce amount of energy. Erza gasped when she realized what move Piccolo was about to use, she readied her blade, gathering up a vast amount of energy into the sword. They both stood there, preparing themselves for the final attack.
"SPECIAL BEAM CANNON!"
"HRAAAAHHHH!"
The spiral beam of death rocketed towards the speeding Erza, the scarlet knight charged forward with no hesitation. Her sword connected with the beam and much to Piccolo's shock, she was cutting right through it.
Erza grit her teeth tightly as she cuts through the beam, still running towards Piccolo at full speed. When she successfully cut through the attack, she was directly in front of Piccolo.
"RAAAAAHHHH!" Swinging her blade with everything she got, Erza cut diagonally downwards on Piccolo's chest, once more drawing a lot of blood.
The Namekian fell to the ground, defeated and Erza used her blade to balance herself. Having used a lot of magic to fight Piccolo.
"Gack! Gack!"
At the sound of Piccolo coughing, Erza turned around to see him standing up on his feet. Erza gaped at the sight. "I'm out of strength, dammit. How is he still standing?" She placed herself in another stance.
Chuckling at her readiness to continue, Piccolo walked right past her. "I'll concede this battle to you, but for now I'll take Gohan and go continue our training. This battle has shown me that we've still got a way to go before fighting the on-coming threat. But, next time the battle won't end the same," Piccolo said.
"Heh, I look forward to it," Erza responded. At that moment Erza was surrounded in a bright white light and vanished from the pocket dimension.
The girls reappeared at the Time Machine Station. Lucy slumped to the ground in happiness. "Yes! It feels good to be back! I need a nice warm bath now!"
"I could go for a bath too, Lucy!" Wendy said to her friend.
Erza nodded her head to the other two. "I agree, a group bath session to celebrate our successful mission," Erza said. Wendy looked delighted at the suggestion given by the older knight.
Lucy looked around the station. "I wonder if Natsu and Gray finished their Quest yet?" Lucy questioned.
"Hopefully they managed to get along while doing so," Erza hoped the two hadn't screwed up because of their rivalry.
BOOM!
"WHA!" Lucy stumbled at the large explosion that came from Conton City. "What was that!?" Lucy shouted in alarm.
"Wendy! Lucy! Let's go check it out!" Erza commanded and she took off towards the explosion. Wendy followed quickly, while Lucy sighed once more.
"And everything was going so well too!" Lucy ran to catch up with the other females.
"NATSU STOP!" The Supreme Kai of Time shouted. In front of her was something that she hadn't accounted for at the beginning, but she really wished she did. Her and the mages had been looking for Gajeel, and when they did it wasn't the best sight to find. Her eyes trailed over to the side to see Levy nursing the beaten up Gajeel on her lap with Juvia doing her best to help heal him.
BOOM! BOOM! CRASH! BOOM! CRASH!
Natsu crashed back onto the ground with a large thud and Gray soon followed after, the two of them laying in a heap on the ground.
Vegeta floated down onto the ground in front of them, completely unharmed. "Is this the best you can do? Because, if so then I'm greatly disappointed."
Natsu crawled back onto his feet and growled angrily. "I ain't done yet, bastard!"
Gray got back to his feet soon as well. "We're just getting started, shorty!" Gray insulted.
A tick mark appeared on the Prince's forehead from the short remark. "You dare mock my height!? Just for that you two are dead!" A purple aura appeared around Vegeta's body, shaking the ground.
"STOOOOOOOP!"
The Supreme Kai of Time jumped in between the group, her face red with annoyance and anger. "NO FIGHTING IN CONTON CITY, YA HEAR ME!? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WORK WENT INTO THIS DAMN CITY! CALM THE HELL DOWN!" She roared in fury. She turned towards Vegeta. "IF YOU DON'T LEARN WHEN TO STOP TRAINING NEAR THE CITY, I'LL TELL BULMA EVERYTHING THAT JUST HAPPENED!" She roared.
The Prince huffed in annoyance at the name of his wife. He folded his arms and turned away from her. The Kai then turned her sight on Natsu and Gray. "ERZA."
"Eh?"
"Understood."
BAM!
Both Natsu and Gray rubbed the sore spots on their heads and turned around to see an angry scarlet knight with a nervous Wendy and Lucy behind her.
"Natsu. Gray. Have you two been causing problems while I was away?"
"NO MA'AM! WE'VE BEEN PERFECTLY GOOD BOYS!"
"LIARS!" She began punishing the both of them and the other fairies nervously watched the familiar scene unfold.
Vegeta watched apprehensively, being reminded of a certain harpy wife that always had a frying pan on hand.
The Supreme Kai of Time sighed in relief that the fighting was over and clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Alright alright, now that all of that is settled I think it's time we returned to the Time Nest," She announced.
"Hm? How come?" Levy asked as Gajeel began to stir awake.
"Trunks should be done bringing your friends back from your world. So, we should be there to meet them," she explained.
"Hm? What's this about Trunks?" Vegeta asked. The Kai turned around to face him.
"You can come along too, Vegeta. I'm sure Trunks would be happy to see you," She said. He shrugged and huffed, flying towards the Time Nest.
Erza paused in her actions of punishing the fire and ice duo. "Why would Trunks be happy to see him?"
"Oh, that's because Vegeta is Trunks' father."
"TRUNKS' DAD!?"
Chapter End
NOTE: Kid Gohan is like 4 or 5 here while Wendy is around the age of 14 with much more fighting experience than him. Her winning the fight was obvious. The wins that Team Natsu got in these quests are mainly due to these being very early on quests that are pretty easy. They struggled in them, and will continue to face more struggles as they continue on and they'll realize that the main missions will be much more difficult.
I wanted to introduce Goku in this chapter, but I can save that for the next one. He wouldn't be one to miss Vegeta fighting someone even if the Saiyan Prince wasn't even trying.
Again, review and look forward to the next chapter.
