AN: Begining of a (very) tentative truce between Phantom and the Fentons.
Third person Maddie POV
Her and Jack had been doing better as well, specifically since they'd formed a truce with Phantom. She certainly didn't trust the ghost, but things had improved. Believe it or not, Phantom was the one to approach them. They had shown up to try and take down a hunter ghost late at night, and Phantom was already there. It seemed that the mech had gotten some new type of weapon, and it was a difficult fight. After a grueling half hour of exchanging fire, Phantom managed to get the upper hand. It pulled out a very familiar thermos, and the mech disappeared into it, weakened to the point of being unable to fight the beam. Maddie saw the thermos in the ghost boy's hands and went off, yelling about Phantom's thievery. Surprisingly, the ghost just floated there and took it, getting greener and greener in the face as Maddie shouted.
"You literally threw it at me! It hit me in the face when I was falling out of the sky! Which is a very not fun thing, I might add! If you would just give me a single moment to explain I could actually tell you! But no, you don't care! You are so biased that I have to wonder how you haven't suffocated with how far you've buried your heads in the sand!" Phantom let all of his anger out at once, aura brightening as he let out his frustrations. By the end of his tirade, his voice was hoarse and there were tears glistening in the corners of his eyes. Maddie and Jack alike were stunned into silence. Phantom seemed to realize what he'd done and his shoulders dropped.
"I'm just so tired of all this." It seemed to be true, the exhaustion clear in his tone.
"If you want to explain," Maddie started, exchanging a look with an equally startled Jack.
"I think we might be able to spare a half an hour. But we need a neutral place. I doubt you would want to come into our house and we don't want to lay our weapons down in front of you when you can't do the same." Maddie said with crossed arms.
Phantom seemed shocked.
