Addiction - A Big Time Rush Fanfiction….

A/N - Wow, wow, wow here is chapter seventeen and the final chapter of this story! When I started this, I didn't know how long it was going to be, or what the response would be to this kind of story. I'm so glad many people read it, and liked it. This story was written to bring awareness for this kind of thing could happen to anyone and I also just love BTR and haven't seen a story like this for this category so here we are! Now this is complete! I am torn between happy that it's finish and sad cause I loved writing for it.

So, I decided this would be the end. I almost thought about writing like an ending wrap up but thought this chapter was enough. I tried to do the ending justice, so I apologize if it is not written right, this is my first time writing a story like this! But I am happy with how it ended.

Also if you noticed in the first two chapter I had reedited/rewritten and I might do the same for the others as well as the chapter eventually.
I am still amazed and proud of myself this story is completed. I wanted to make it longer but was having trouble knowing how to continue and thought that it was being dragged out too long as it was so why not just end here like this right? Well when you read this chapter you'll see what I mean.

Chapter 17

Mrs. Mitchel was surprisingly happy to hear about the news of a trial. It meant that whoever sold the pills to Kendall was going to jail more than likely and that Kendall no longer had a way of being in contact with the man to get the pills. Seeing that her son was no longer in danger, she wasn't as worried. When they finished work for the day, Mrs. Mitchel was exclaiming how happy and proud of her boy she was and how she enjoyed watching him sing and dance that day. The four boys sighed in relief that day.

Mrs. Mitchel stayed for a few days and finally left by Wednesday. Logan and Mrs. Mitchel made a deal to keep in touch more and for Logan to call her at least once a week. The woman had left and caught her flight back to Minnesota with the final agreement in place. That evening, everyone was in high spirits, having the place back to themselves. Even the guys noticed Logan was in a better mood as well. Logan loved his mother a lot, he did, but she could be over baring sometimes, and she scared him when he thought she was going to take him home. The brunette boy knew his friends put up with his mother for his, and he didn't blame them one bit; he knew she could be…out there…so he understood their moods when she was around. Heck, even Logan grew annoyed with his mother over the past three days. So, he was happy when she left, now things could be almost every day again, and he could go about his life as he pleased. It was better this way, and the boys all agreed. Now, all they had to do was get through this trial for Kendall on Friday, and hopefully, things could go back the way they used to be before Kendall started even taking drugs. Dinner was silent that night as everyone ate, and the group all went to bed a little earlier than usual begin tired from the week's events.

The following morning, Kendall, Logan, James, and Carlos had worked at the studio once more.

After eating breakfast and leaving the apartment, the four soon found themselves in the lobby of Roque Records. Kelly and Gustavo were there with them, but the odd thing was that the building's CEO, Griffin was there as well. Work was usually a fun day at the studio, but if Griffin was there, then the boys knew something serious was going on. The man was only ever there if he needed to talk to them about something or if he had demanded from them that he needed to be done. Kendall, Logan, James, and Carlos greeted the three, and they were instructed to hang out in the lobby for a moment before anything else was started.

"I'm sure you boys are wondering why I am here?" Griffin states as he smiles at the four while the boys nod. "Well, I am here because of the court trial that Kendall is attending," Griffin states as he frowns while looking at the blonde-haired boy. "This whole drug thing has not been looking good for our label boys. Parents aren't happy, and BTR has been getting a lot of backlash about it." Griffin finishes as he eyes each boy; all four frowned and were worried.

Kendall speaks up, making everyone turn and look at them. "I know it's all my fault, and I'm sorry. After that court trial, I hope to move on and continue with life normally. I promise it won't happen again." Kendall sighs.

"Good," Griffin states. But that's not all I need you to do. I want you to address this at the court trial afterward when the press bombs you with questions. It'll be a perfect opportunity to clear up some worries. Mr. Giffin grins at the idea.

"Wait, wait, wait…." Gustavo intercepts, making everyone turn to face him this time. He frowns as he says to Griffin, "...You want Kendall actually to speak to the press!? Are you sure that's a good idea? The press can be intimidating, and you have to be good under pressure! If he is not, he could falter and say the wrong thing making things worse. I was already planning on going to the court trial with him, so I could help him handle the situation and deal with that." Gustavo finishes only trailing off when he sees Griffin giving him a look.

Griffin just nods and says, "I know Gustavo, but I want the boy to speak to them. They are famous now, and they need to learn how to handle their situation and deal with the questions. We can't protect them forever." Griffin states as he grins. "I am also going to the trial with you two, just to keep an eye on things."

Silence falls over everyone, and the four boys tell Gustavo is shocked. Kendall had to admit, he wanted to talk to the press all his own, but now with Griffin demanding that he does, he was a little nervous about it. Either way, Kendall was sure he could handle it, but things just got more interesting now. All Kendall wanted was just for this stupid trial to even be over. But of course, the days were dragging, and it would bother him a lot. It was only Wednesday, after all. Two more days, just two more days, and hopefully, this would all be over.

"Good, if everyone understands, then I want you, boys, back to work!"

Just like that, the four boys find themselves back to work. They go over harmonies, practice their signing, and finish the day going over choreography. Finally, the four boys are dismissed and told by Gustavo that after the trial, they have one week before they are to leave for their first world tour. Hearing this puts the boys in excitement as they get back to Apartment 2J. Upon arriving at the apartment, the boys stop in the doorway, seeing two police officers talking to Mama Knight while Katie is watching tv. All they can see is a worried look on Mama Knight's face. Neither boy can say anything because the officers and Mama Knight hear the door open and see the four come in.

"There they are, officers. You can let them know and talk to them." Mama Knight explains as she gestures to the boys.

"Mom, what's going on?" Kendall questions with a raised eyebrow as they come over to them.

Mama Knight comes over and gives her son's shoulder a comforting squeeze and just smiles weakly at him. "It'll be okay, I promise."

"Your starting to scare me."

Everyone looks at the officers wanting answers. The two officers from earlier, Officer Peter and Officer Wilson, come over to the boys. These two have been working on the case ever since Old Man Jones was found over-dosed and currently in the hospital. A month had passed since Kendall had taken pills and a week since the case had been going on. It's crazy how much time has passed, but it was scary to have officers standing in the middle of their apartment while the four boys were waiting for whatever news they had told Mama Knight. The four boys were hoping that it wasn't too bad.

"Hello again, boys; we need to tell you something." Officer Wilson states as he frowns.

"What is it?" Kendall, Logan, James, and Carlos questioned as they waited; they figured that much, and they just wanted to know what it was already.

Officer Wilson frowns and looks away, only for Officer Peter to sigh. Officer Peter speaks up and says, "Well, it turns out that after a few days of being over-dosed from those pills, we thought Old Man Jones would make it. But, we just got the call, and well, Old Man Jones died this morning in his sleep."

Silence falls over the group as the four boys take the information in. The older man was officially dead, the officers just told them. Kendall was shocked at this news since only a few days ago, and they told him he would be alive and sent to jail. Now, the older man was dead. Kendall didn't know how to take it. Part of felt relieved cause this meant he didn't have to deal with the trial nor worry about the man trying to give him pills anymore. But a lot of him felt terrible. Sure Old Man Jones didn't have the right intentions, but the man was still human, and someone passing was always a sad moment in life. But what bothered them all was how Old Man Jones died and that over-dose. Another thought enters their minds, and they frown as they remember Kendall in the hospital bed because of the drugs. They were glad they caught it for Kendall when it happened, and Kendall was now suddenly very thankful for stopping his usage of those pills. Everything was starting to hit him, and Kendall's head was starting to hurt.

"O-Oh, so what does this mean then? For Friday? And does his family know?"

The two officers listened to each question, and once they got the four boys to calm down, the officers were happy to answer each of them. According to the officers, Old Man Jones didn't have much family, but those he was still in touch with knew. That's why the officers were here to let the four know about the man's death and let them know the trial for Friday was canceled. Soon each boy got their answers, and the officer had left. Kendall called and told Gustavo about the change in things, and he heard his boss sigh, and then they hung up after talking.

Kendall, Logan, James, Carlos, Mama Knight, and Katie gathered around for dinner. Things were a little awkward during their meal, but Mama Knight lectured them about this valuable lesson for them all. Every one of them agreed, for even though they felt just a little bit sorry for the older man, they were all happy Kendall was alive. They all promised to come and talk to Mama Knight if they needed to and not take drugs. Kendall promised himself he wouldn't do it ever again and work on fixing things with himself and his friends and work. Even though there was no trial, Kendall was sure he would have to talk to the press eventually about this. Kendall just hoped that everything would be okay, but thankfully for him, things would be okay in the end, thanks to his friends and family. During this, Kendall learned that it wasn't okay to take drugs and that it wasn't okay to make friends keep secrets from others about something like this. But the biggest lesson Kendall had learned was that next he was having a bad day was to come home and talk to his mother instead of walking off alone. Kendall had learned was that selling or using drugs was illegal and could be very harmful to you in the end. But the last thing that was most important to know was that next time Kendall came across something like this, instead of using them, he should report it. After all, it could save lives, and Kendall just hopped that others agreed with him and that they would report it too...

A/N - Well there was the end! Possibly not the best way to end, but I had a hard time writing this, this why I decided to end it here.
