Haggar's magic had died with her, so the thorn bush disappeared, allowing the tired group to enter. As Lance entered the courtyard, he was surprised to see everyone was asleep.

"Why is everyone asleep?"

"It was to protect them," Nyma explained as she walked alongside Lance. They had returned to their normal sizes and let their wings rest.

"They'll wake up as soon as Keith is," Shay explained with a smile.

"He's in the tallest town," Florona explained pointing to the tower that stood higher than the rest of the castle.

"I understand," Lance said and took off in a rush towards the tower. The three fairies shared a smile before following slowly after. They wanted the two to have a moment alone once Keith woke up.

"Do you think it will work?" Florona asked worriedly.

"It has to," Shay said with a determined look on his smile.

"Enough of this, let's go."

As soon as Lance reached the tower where Keith's bedroom was, he stopped in place upon seeing the sleeping prince. He looked so peaceful. Lance walked up to the bed and sat on the edge of it.

"You never told me your name when we first met," Lance said softly. "Who would have guessed you would have ended up being the one I would marry anyway."

Lance leaned down slowly and gently kissed Keith's lips. A few moments passed as colour returned to Keith's cheeks. His eyes fluttered open and gazed around the room before finally landing on Lance.

"It's you," Keith said with wide eyes.

"Hello again mullet," Lance said with a smile.

"Mullet? Really?" Keith asked as he slowly sat up, the roses falling off him and onto the bed space beside him.

"Well, hey, I didn't know your name so I had to give you a nickname."

"My name is-"

"Keith?" Lance said to which Keith nodded.

"Yes, but how did you-"

"Haggar told me," Lance explained. "After she captured me."

"Haggar, she's-"

"The evil fairy witch who cursed you as a baby and caused you to prick your finger."

"Remind me to never go near a spinning wheel again," Keith said which caused Lance to laugh.

"Deal."

"How did you escape Haggar?" Keith asked as he stretched his arms out.

"They helped me," Lance said pointing to the doorway where Nyma, Shay, and Florona were standing with tears in their eyes.

"Keith!" they yelled as soon as Lance stepped back. They did raise Keith after all.

"We're so sorry that we let out of our sight," Shay cried.

"We're sorry for keeping the truth from you all these years," Florona cried out.

"Alright girls," Nyma said pulling back from the hug and wiping her tears. "I'm glad you're alright Akira."

"Akira?" Lance asked in confusion.

"It's the name we gave Keith to hide his identity," Florona explained as she pulled back from the hug.

"Oh!" Shay exclaimed causing everyone to turn to her.

"What is it?" Keith asked as he looked at his aunt in worry.

"Everyone should be waking up now, we should get you two ready," Shay said with a smile. "You are meeting your mother and brother Keith."

"Right," Keith said standing up.

"Make it red," Nyma said waving her wand causing Keith's suit to turn red.

"Black," Florona said with a glare, making it black.

"Red."

"Black."

"How about purple?" Shay asked waving her wand and turning it purple. The two arguing fairies stopped and stared at the suit.

"I think purple looks lovely on you," Nyma said with a smile.

"I agree," Florona said.

"One last gift," Nyma said using her magic to change Lance into a suit similar to Keith's but dark blue instead. A crown placed on his head with blue sapphires on it.

"Now, let's go meet your mother," Lance said offering his arm to Keith who smiled and nodded.

"Ah," Krolia said with a yawn as she stretched her arms out. "What were you saying Allura? Something about Lance?"

"Right, um," Allura started to say but was stopped by the fanfare. Everyone stopped and turned to the staircase where Keith and Lance were talking down.

"Oh my gosh," Krolia gasped, tears filling her eyes. Krolia stood up along with Shiro as Keith and Lance walked up to the thrones and bowed. Krolia couldn't help herself but rush forwards and grab her son in a hug. The two pulled away as Shiro walked up.

"Welcome home Keith," Shiro said with a tearful smile and embraced his brother in a hug. Keith immediately hugged back.

"I'm glad you're home safe Keith," Krolia said with a smile.

"As am I," Keith said pulling back from his hug with Shiro. He reached beside him and pulled out the dagger that was his mother's. He reached to hand it back to her but was stopped when his mother shook her head and closed his hand around it.

"It's yours now," Krolia said. "Carry it proudly."

"Lance," Allura said as she walked up beside her brother. "I thought you were going to meet that peasant boy."

"This is the peasant boy Allura," Lance said as Keith walked back and enlaced their arms together.

"I grew up with the Queen Nyma, Queen Shay, and Queen Florona in a cottage in the forest posing as peasants."

"I see," Allura said with a nod of understanding. "Well, I'm glad you're back home Prince Keith."

"Good to be home Your Highness," Keith said with a smile.

"Took you long enough to get here," Pidge said as she walked up beside Lance. Her mother had indeed put her in a green off the shoulder dress with long sleeves and a light green belt around her waist, a green headband in her hair finishing the look.

"Give him a break Pidgeon," Matt said walking up beside his sister. He was dressed in black pants, a grey long-sleeved shirt, brown boots, and a dark caramel coloured blazer.

"Who would have guessed that the boy you met in the forest was the prince," Hunk said with a smile as he walked up beside Matt. He was wearing dark brown pants, grey boots, a white long-sleeved shirt, and a yellow blazer.

"To be fair, I didn't know he was a prince either," Keith said with a smile.

"That's true," Pidge said before they excused themselves as they saw Shay, Nyma, and Florona approach the thrones.

"Your Majesties," they said curtsying to the royals.

"I cannot thank you enough for what you have done Your Highnesses," Krolia said with a smile.

"Think nothing of it Your Majesty," Nyma said with a smile.

"How can we repay you?" Shiro asked.

"Well, there is one thing," Florona said with a smile

"What is it?" Krolia asked.

"Let us plan the wedding," Shay said with a smile. The royals burst into laughter before Krolia nodded.

"We would be honoured if you would," Krolia said with a smile.

"Thank you, Your Majesty," Shay replied.

"Now, let the celebration begin!" Shiro announced. The crowd exploding into cheers. The musicians went to start playing but were stopped by the fairies.

"May we Your Highness?" Nyma asked.

"We have a certain song in mind," Shay said giving Lance and Keith a smile.

"Of course Your Majesties," Krolia said with a smile. With that, the fairies waved their wands and enchanted the instruments to play Lance and Keith's song.

"May I have this dance?" Lance asked with a smile as he bowed.

"You may," Keith said with a smile. The couple began to dance with each other, the crowd watching with smiles on their faces.

"The celebration lasted the whole week for their prince had returned and was safely back home with his family," Lance said as he finished the story.

"And then what?" Sofie asked.

"And then the two princes got married," Keith said playing with the gold ring on his finger.

"And then what?"

"And then they adopted a little girl who became their little prince," Lance said ruffling Sofie's hair.

"And then The End?" Sofie asked.

"The End," Keith said with a smile. Sofie let out a yawn which caused her parents to chuckle.

"Time for bed?" Lance asked to which Sofie nodded and crawled under her blankets. Keith tucked the blankets on top of her and kiss the top of her head.

"Good night Sofie," Keith said with a smile.

"Good night Mama."

"Good night princess," Lance said as he kissed her head softly.

"Good night Papa."

"Sweet dreams," Keith said as he blew the candle out on her bedside table and followed Lance out of her bedroom.

That night, Sofie dreamed of meeting her true love in a forest like her parents. And maybe they would also meet.

And just like that, we're done! I had so much fun writing this one and finding ways to change what I didn't quite like in the original story and making it more my own.
