Chapter 1
*RING*RING*RING*
The ringing of a cell phone rang in the dark bedroom the sun barely peeking out from the sky through the window of the room on the bed that had sheets of dark purple laid a girl who at first glance may seem like a child but actually she was 15 her long soft red-orange hair spread out her pillow as she mumbled softly turning away from her bedside where the ringing phone laid. Karen it's your phone I suggest you answer it or it'll only keep ringing. A soft older feminine voice rang in her mind.
The girl Karen groaned opening her forest green eyes and reached for her pale yellow phone picking it up. "H-Hello?" She yawned.
"Good morning Karen! About time you picked up!" A young female voice spoke happily.
"H-Huh? Rebecca?" Karen blinked, sitting up from her bed and checked her clock and groaned flopping down on her bed. "Rebecca you're my closest friend so don't take this the wrong way, but it's 5 in the morning here. Why are you calling?"
"Haha I'm sorry Karen but I need you and Iemitsu to come pick me up." Rebecca answered happily.
"Pick you up? Rebecca you're in America." Karen began.
"Nope! I'm at Domino City's Airport!" Rebecca told her.
That news woke Karen up at once sitting up from her bed again. "What?! Wait, you're here in Domino City?!" She questioned shocked.
"That's right I just got off the plane and I need you and Iemitsu to pick me up." Rebecca told her.
"Rebecca wait a minute." Karen sighed, her finger on her forehead. "Why are you even doing here? I mean you already visited us a while ago, and does your grandpa know you're here?"
"I'll explain everything once you come get me and I need you to come with me somewhere for support too." Rebecca told her.
"Eh? Go where?" Karen questioned.
"I'll tell you once you get here, see you later!" Rebecca answered happily, before hanging up.
"Wait Rebecca!" Karen began, but sighed hearing the beeping.
An amused giggle rang in Karen's mind. Well she's still the same as always. The voice remarked amused.
"Not funny Fire." Karen sighed. "And what did she meant needing me for support?"
Only way to know is to go get her and have her tell you. Fire told Karen.
"Yeah seems so." Karen yawned, before getting out of bed. "Though I should wake up dad first."
"Already awake Karen."
Karen looked up to see her father leaning on her door frame with a tired amused look on his face. His orange-blond hair was still slightly ruffled from sleep, yet his amber eyes held the twinkle of amusement she would always see despite the scar over his right eye, he was already dressed in an unbuttoned brown shirt with a dark gray shirt under it, dark jeans, sturdy black boots, and a simple oval gold locket on a chain around his neck. "You heard?" She asked sheepishly.
"The ringing woke me up and by the time I was already dressed I heard the conversation." He told her with a small smile. "Get dressed and we'll get a quick bite out."
"Alright." She nodded.
She watched her father leave the room closing the door behind him. She then got out of bed dressed in a long sleeve red blouse, a gold jacket vest, brown pants, and black boots. She looked to her bedside where, laid a bracelet. The bracelet was pure gold with feather engravings and an eye at the center she picked it up placing it on her right wrist as she rubbed the engravings. Something on your mind? Fire asked.
Karen looked up to see Fire, the spirit residing within her bracelet, she looked identical to Karen but looked slightly older and taller than she was Fire's hair was more of a darker blazing red vermillion and wispy than Karen's own soft red-orange but they both had identical forest green eyes. "Oh just thinking it's been a long time since we first met." Karen smiled. Fire grew wide eyed before softly chuckling.
Yes I suppose it has been a long time. Fire remarked.
Karen looked at Fire with a soft smile before grabbing her deck and leaving her room.
"Ok let me see I got this straight here you mean to tell me you're here to get back your grandpa's Blue Eyes White Dragon?"
"Exactly!"
Karen stood with Rebecca sweatdropping already the two stood in front of a card shop being dropped off by Iemitsu and Karen eating a bagel for her breakfast as she listened to Rebecca's reasoning of being here. "Rebecca I may have not met Sugoroku Mutou personally but I know enough about him to know he isn't the type to steal." Karen sighed, finishing her bagel. "After all he was the one who helped my dad get my bracelet."
"You and your dad are too trusting Karen." Rebecca scowled. "And you could at least be a little more sympathetic."
"If you want sympathy you need Fire you know I don't wake up at the crack of dawn." Karen sighed, making Fire laugh. "And don't you laugh Fire!"
Haha ok I'm sorry. Fire chuckled, making Karen sigh.
"Karen focus!" Rebecca frowned.
"Right sorry." Karen apologized with a small smile.
Despite her words Karen truly cared about Rebecca which is why she was willing to be here with Rebecca she then heard voices. "Ah they're here finally." Rebecca huffed.
Karen looked up to see a group of teens walking with an old man she grew wide eyed upon seeing what was around the younger boy's neck. "Fire." Karen muttered.
Well, well this will be interesting. Fire remarked.
Karen couldn't help but want to scowl at Fire when Rebecca stepped forward to point at the old man. "Are you Sugoroku Muto?" She demanded.
"Yes I am." He confirmed. "And you are?"
"My name is Rebecca. I arrived this morning from America." Rebecca told him before scowling. "Sheesh you're late! How dare you keep ladies waiting!"
"Rebecca." Karen sighed, walking to her side. "It's not like they knew you would be coming I know the feeling…"
"Lady?" The young boy blinked.
"What? Are you saying I'm not a lady?" Rebecca demanded him, before facing Karen. "And you should have more confidence Karen after all you're older than me!"
"Right." Karen sweatdropped.
"Hey, why did a little kid like you come all the way to Japan by herself?" One of the male teens asked.
"Goddamn!" Rebecca scowled.
"Rebecca!" Karen hissed. "I told you about your language!"
"Sorry." Rebecca frowned, before facing them again. "But I won't talk to someone so vulgar. Right, Teddy?"
"What did you say?!" He demanded shocked.
Karen sighed tiredly as Sugoroku spoke. "Rebecca, why did you come to see me?" He asked.
"Give it back!" Rebecca demanded.
"Give what back?" Sugoroku questioned confused.
"Give back Blue Eyes White Dragon." Rebecca scowled. "Give it back now! It's mine!"
"But that card was." The girl began, the others frowning.
Something tells me we're not gonna like what happens next. Fire muttered, making Karen sweatdropped.
"Blue Eyes White Dragon is a super powerful card that's originally from America." Rebecca told them, holding her bear happily. "Which means America's strongest Duelist should have it, and that person is me! Right, Teddy?"
"America's strongest Duelist?" Sugoroku questioned.
"Yes, for I am America's champion." Rebecca smiled.
"America's champion?" The girl repeated surprised.
"That's right." Rebecca confirmed smugly.
"C'mon now." One of them said in disbelief.
"That's not a good joke." The other said.
"It's actually not." Karen spoke up, getting her phone out.
They looked to Karen surprised as she then held out her phone and they gaped to see a picture Karen had taken months ago in America with Rebecca when she had won the championship league. "Ah I saw this picture in an article." The young boy gasped. "A 12 year old created a sensation by winning the American Championship! She's a dueling prodigy."
"That's Rebecca." Karen nodded, putting away her phone.
"And I already know who you are." Rebecca replied, looking at the two. "The winner of the Duelist Kingdom Yugi Muto and 2nd place Katsuya Jonouchi."
Karen grew wide eyed looking at Yugi stunned as Rebecca went on. So that really is him! The Duelist King himself Yugi Muto! She thought.
The one considered to be the king to our queen. Fire remarked amused in her mind.
Fire not now! Karen thought, as Sugoroku spoke.
"Rebecca, Blue Eyes White Dragon is a very important card to me." He told her.
"Of course it is after all you traveled all the way to America to steal it." Rebecca said bluntly.
"Steal? Rebecca you're mistaken." Yugi began. "Grandpa is"-
"That's what Bandit Keith told me." Rebecca interrupted. "He said that Blue Eyes was stolen."
"Eh?!" They said shocked.
"That idiot! How dare he say that!" Jonouchi yelled.
"The Blue Eyes belongs to me, the American Champion! Give it back!" Rebecca demanded angrily.
"Rebecca." Karen began with a frown.
"Rebecca that card." Yugi began.
"What?" Rebecca questioned.
Yugi didn't continue making Rebecca frown. "I see so you won't give it back." She replied.
"It's not that it's just…" Yugi began.
"Then I challenge you!" Rebecca yelled, shocking them. "A Duel! Sugoroku Muto, you give Blue Eyes back to me if I win! Got it?"
"Hey that's enough!" Jonouchi yelled.
"Got it?!" Rebecca repeated, facing Karen. "Karen can you help us arrange a Duel Ring?"
Karen jumped before she sighed a hand to her face. "Looks like I don't have a choice." She muttered.
This is going to be a long day. Fire remarked.
Karen had led the group to Kaiba Land as they walked in a building Karen looked around as Jonouchi looked at his friends. "Are we seriously just going along with this?" He demanded with a mutter.
"It's not like we have a choice Jonouchi-kun." Anzu frowned, looking at Rebecca. "I highly doubt she'll understand the misunderstanding Bandit Keith caused."
"Yeah but even so." Jonouchi frowned.
Yugi frowned while looking at Karen before walking to her. "Um excuse me?" He spoke.
Karen jumped quickly, turning to face him before sighing softly. "Yes?" She asked, her voice soft like a dove.
"Well are you having trouble finding where to register?" Yugi asked worried.
Karen looked surprised and about to speak before Rebecca jumped in. "What are you talking about?! Karen could never have any trouble since she works here!" She scowled.
"Eh? She works here?" Honda remarked surprised. "But isn't she a little young?"
"15 isn't too young to work." Rebecca frowned.
"15?!" They gaped surprised.
Karen sweatdropped and sighed already used to the misunderstanding before she spoke up. "I'm actually looking for someone who can help secure us a Duel Ring." She replied, looking before spotting who she was looking for. "And I see him. Mokuba-kun!"
They gasped looking to see Mokuba who looked up and smiled seeing Karen walking to her. "Hey Karen what are you doing here? I thought Nii-sama gave you the day off." He remarked.
"He did but I have a different reason for being here." Karen told him with a strained smile.
"Wait a minute you know her Mokuba?!" Jonouchi demanded, shocked.
"Huh? Oh you guys." Mokuba looked up to face the others and nodded. "And of course I do this, is Karen Yamamoto. She works here in Kaiba Land and she's a good friend to me and Nii-sama."
"She's friends with Kaiba?" Jonouchi grew wide eyed.
Karen gave a strained smile before facing Mokuba. "I was hoping, if you can give us a Duel Ring for today." She replied.
"A Duel Ring? Hmm our Duel Rings are booked for the next 3 months." Mokuba frowned.
"Please Mokuba-kun? It's very important." Karen insisted.
"Well I guess I can make an exception for our idol." Mokuba smirked, making Karen flush.
"Mokuba!" Karen squeaked.
"Idol?" Anzu wondered.
"Take us there now!" Rebecca demanded, holding up her bear. "Let's go! Hurry up!"
"Y-Yeah." Mokuba sweatdropped, glancing at Karen who only sighed and shook her head.
They walked into one of the auditoriums to where the Duel Ring was. "Let's begin, Sugoroku Muto." Rebecca replied.
"Yes." Sugoroku nodded.
"Grandpa." Yugi spoke worried.
"I'll be fine Yugi." Sugoroku assured.
"But." Yugi began.
"Come on! How long do you plan to keep the American Champion waiting?!" Rebecca frowned.
"Wait a moment Rebecca." Karen frowned, looking at the weary Sugoroku. "I don't think it's a good idea to duel him now."
He does seem to be a little weak. Was he sick or something? Fire wondered.
"But Karen!" Rebecca began.
"Rebecca, I'll take you on!" Yugi spoke up.
"Yugi!" Anzu gasped.
Grandpa was just released from the hospital; he's in no shape to duel." Yugi frowned.
"The hospital?!" Karen gasped.
"Ok fine. Yugi Muto, the champion of the Duelist Kingdom, is worthy of being my opponent." Rebecca smiled. "But I can't imagine how you'll be able to defeat a dueling prodigy like me. Right, Teddy, Karen?"
"Don't take him lightly Rebecca." Karen frowned. "He is the one who beat Pegasus, you have to be careful."
"You don't have to worry Karen, after all I dueled with a Duelist like you many times I'll be fine." Rebecca smiled, before walking to the other side of the Duel Ring
Karen sighed before facing them all giving an apologetic bow. "I'm sorry for Rebecca, she's really a nice girl once you know her." She apologized.
"It's quite alright Karen-chan after all this is just a misunderstanding." Sugoroku assured her with a smile. "Karen Yamamoto. You're Iemitsu's little girl, aren't you?"
"Yes a pleasure to finally meet you Sugoroku-san." Karen said with a shy smile.
"Eh? You know her grandpa?" Yugi asked, surprised.
"In a sense yes you see her father Iemitsu is a fellow Archeologist and good friend of mine." Sugoroku smiled. "He had actually been the one to help me find your Millennium Puzzle."
"Eh?!" They gaped, looking at Karen who flushed.
"Oh it was nothing father had been eager to go to that tomb when you had invited him to come besides." Karen said, pulling up her sleeve to show her bracelet. "Besides I should be saying thank you for letting me have this."
That! Yugi thought, shocked.
"Ah the Millennium Bracelet I'm glad to see you're wearing it." Sugoroku smiled.
"It's a very dear gift to me since you and dad found it in that tomb with the Millennium Puzzle." Karen smiled, gently touching the bracelet. "I wear it all the time."
"Eh? It was found with the Millennium Puzzle?" Honda questioned shocked.
"Oh yes right in front of the gold box where the pieces laid as if guarding it." Sugoroku nodded.
"Hey! What's taking you so long?!" Rebecca yelled.
"Oh dear best not keep Rebecca waiting." Karen squeaked. "Here Sugoroku-san let me help you, to a seat."
"Oh it's not necessary Karen-chan." Sugoroku assured her with a smile.
"But you were just released from the hospital." Karen frowned worried. "If I had known this, I would've told Rebecca back."
"It can't be helped now." Sugoroku replied, facing Yugi. "Sorry Yugi I'll leave this to you."
"Right." Yugi nodded.
Karen watched Yugi go to his side of the Duel Ring as she got out her phone sending a text.
They watched as the duel progressed though Rebecca began seemingly ditzy they were all shocked by her sudden change of character and her skills with Millennium Shield, Ring of Magnetism, and Cannon Soldier. Looks like Rebecca is finally getting serious. Fire remarked.
Yeah and she's already starting to pile up her GY too. Karen thought with a frown. Yugi-san is going to have a little trouble…
"I'll show you how much it hurts to have your Blue Eyes taken from you!" Rebecca smirked.
"What do you mean?" Yugi questioned.
"It is her!" Sugoroku gasped. "Rebecca, you're…!"
"You finally realized it." Rebecca replied. "Yes, my name is Rebecca Hopkins. I'm the granddaughter of Arthur Hopkins, and you stole his precious Blue Eyes White Dragon."
"Say what?!" Jonouchi gaped, the others looking surprised.
"You're my grandpa's best friend's granddaughter?" Yugi questioned surprised.
"That's right." Rebecca confirmed. "I'll make you feel every bit of my grandfather's resentment. Prepare yourself!"
Karen frowned worried before she felt her phone vibrate she quickly went to the back picking up her phone. "Dad?" She answered.
"I got your text and I'll be bringing Arthur." Iemitsu replied. "You're all in Kaiba Land, right?"
"Yeah in one of the Duel Rings." She told him, before frowning. "Dad, Sugoroku-san didn't really steal Arthur-san's Blue Eyes did he?"
Her father was silent for a moment worrying her until he spoke. "What do you think? Do you think he stole it?" He asked.
She blinked frowning slightly glancing at Sugoroku who seemed to be talking. "...No, no, I don't see him stealing it." She answered.
"Glad you think so, you always had a great sense of judgement Karen. You should follow it more." He told her, before hanging up.
Karen looked at her phone with a frown as Fire's spirit appeared next to her. You know he's right, you should have more confidence in yourself. She told her.
"Kinda hard to really." Karen admitted with a weak smile.
"We did it Teddy! Bravo! V! I won!"
Karen and Fire jumped hearing Rebecca's joyful shouting. Karen quickly rushed back out to see Rebecca play Judgement Blaster to send 5 cards from her hand to the GY and destroy Yugi's Summoned Skull and Catapulte Turtle. "She used Judgement Buster!" Karen gasped.
And she has 11 cards in the GY. Fire frowned. Which means it's coming!
"Next, I Summon Shadow Ghoul in attack mode!" Rebecca yelled, summoning her monster.
"I knew it! Shadow Ghoul her ace monster." Karen frowned. "And with 11 cards in the GY Shadow Ghoul's effect gives it 1100 additional ATK."
"What?!" The others gaped, hearing her.
"How's that? Shadow Ghoul now has 2700 ATK points." Rebecca smirked.
I highly doubt even Yugi Muto has a monster strong enough to beat it now. Fire frowned.
"You were sending your monsters to the GY to power up Shadow Ghoul." Yugi frowned.
"Of course. You just realized that now?" Rebecca smirked. "You're a slow one."
"Rebecca." Yugi spoke. "In a duel, your heart has to believe in your cards. It's cruel to send your monsters to the GY simply to power it up."
Karen grew wide eyed by Yugi's words while Rebecca shouted angrily. "You're such an idiot! You're naive if you think dueling has anything to do with heart. A duelist does whatever it takes to win!"
"Rebecca." Karen frowned, clutching her hands tightly.
"And don't make up stupid stories to hide the fact you stole that card!" Rebecca yelled to Sugoroku. "I learned these tactics from my grandfather too. Monsters are only good as weapons and sacrifices!"
"That is enough Rebecca!"
They all jumped by Karen's sudden shout looking to see her looking at Rebecca in anger. "K-Karen." Rebecca spoke surprised.
"If you truly wish to prove you're the one in the right then stop your angry outburst. Understand?" Karen frowned.
Rebecca scowled while Karen sighed. Wow, I hardly ever see you snap like that. Fire remarked lightly.
Well I was having enough with that talk. Karen retorted. I'll apologize to her after the duel.
"Hmph fine Karen. Now how long are you going to keep a lady waiting? Hurry up Yugi!" Rebecca called, letting her accent out.
Karen watched the duel looking at the field. As things stand it's just as Fire said Yugi-san doesn't have any monster's strong enough to beat Shadow Ghoul. She thought. But if he has a certain spell card in his deck and draws it then he'll have a chance.
She glanced at Yugi as he played Swords of Revealing Light and then resurrected his Dark Magician. And yet… She thought with a frown. I hardly know him but I feel as if that is not what he'll do. And that day in the ruins…
I think you realize it don't you Karen. Fire replied to her with a knowing smile.
Karen closed her eyes with a smile. Yeah I think I do. She thought with a nod.
"I surrender." Yugi spoke, a hand on his deck.
"Ehhh?!" His friends yelled shocked.
"Yugi-san…" Karen spoke softly.
Yugi and Rebecca stepped off the Duel Ring as Rebecca cheerfully went to Karen. "See? I told you I would win Karen it was just as I said." She smiled.
"Yes, yes." Karen said with a light nod.
"Now give me Blue Eyes." Rebecca demanded Sugoroku.
Sugoroku sighed reaching in his pocket before revealing a taped Blue Eyes much to Rebecca's horror. "You tore my grandfather's cherished Blue Eyes!" Rebecca shrieked.
I knew we weren't going to like this. Fire winced.
"I'm sorry." Sugoroku apologized.
"That's why you didn't want to return it!" Rebecca yelled angrily. "Goddamn I'll never forgive you!"
"Rebecca!" Karen scowled.
"Don't you try to defend them Karen!" Rebecca snapped.
"I was planning to return it, but-" Sugoroku began.
"I don't want to hear your excuses!" Rebecca scowled.
"Stop, Rebecca."
They all looked up Karen smiling in relief to see Iemitsu and Arthur walking over to them. "Grandfather?!" Rebecca gasped.
"Dad, Arthur-san." Karen smiled, walking towards them.
"Thank you for your message Karen." Arthur smiled. "I'm sorry you were dragged into this."
"It's fine I'm used to being dragged by Rebecca at this rate." Karen assured with a gentle smile.
"Eh? You called grandfather Karen?!" Rebecca gaped.
"I only texted dad to call Arthur. He brought him here." Karen replied.
"Arthur, Iemitsu!" Sugoroku replied surprised.
"Eh?!" They gasped.
"Hello Sugoroku-san." Iemitsu smiled.
"It's been a while Sugoroku." Arthur replied with a smile of his own.
"It truly has." Sugoroku smiled happily.
"My granddaughter is such a troublemaker." Arthur replied, walking past them. "Sorry about that."
"Grandfather?" Rebecca voiced.
"Rebecca, Yugi won this duel." Arthur told his granddaughter.
"Eh?! That's not true!" Rebecca denied, chasing after Arthur.
"Yugi, that was a fine duel." Arthur smiled. "You're an excellent duelist just like Sugoroku."
Arthur walked to Yugi's side going to his Deck and drawing the top card looking at it with a knowing look. "I knew it. Rebecca take a look." Arthur said, showing Rebecca the card. "This card is Soul Release."
"Soul Release. When played both players banish 5 cards from their GY." Karen spoke. "If Yugi had played that card then he could've decreased Shadow Ghoul's ATK from 2800 to 2300 and if it battled with Dark Magician who had 2500 ATK."
"Precisely Karen." Arthur nodded.
"So Yugi surrendered on purpose?" Rebecca questioned, shocked. "Why?"
"You still don't know?" Arthur sighed. "Yugi is a kindhearted boy just like Sugoroku. He wanted to save you from caring only about winning and losing. Just like how Sugoroku saved my life when we were trapped in the ruins and dueling for water. I became incredibly weak and he gave me the water."
Both Yugi and Sugoroku blushed sheepishly by Arhtur's words making Karen and Iemitsu chuckled. "Their kindness is their strong points and what makes them so likeable." Iemitsu grinned.
"Yeah." Karen smiled.
"Rebecca, I did discard one monster after another to the GY to power up Shadow Ghoul." Arthur admitted, kneeling in front of her. "But you must honor those you lost. It goes for both dueling as well as archaeology when I investigate ancient graveyards. A duelist must never forget to respect her opponent. I was so thankful that I gave my cherished Blue Eyes to Sugoroku."
"But Sugoroku ripped that precious card!" Rebecca frowned.
"I'm sorry Arthur." Sugoroku apologized. "You see…"
"It's fine, Sugoroku." Arthur assured, standing. "You kept it instead of throwing it away. Even though that card may be torn, our friendship will never be torn apart."
"Arthur." Sugoroku smiled.
"Listen Rebecca, it was as Karen told you, cards are about the heart and truly great duels create friendships." Arthur said.
"Heart." Rebecca spoke softly.
"He's right." Karen smiled, walking up to Rebecca. "After all that was how we became friends. Remember?"
Rebecca looked at Karen and nodded. "Yeah we dueled all the time when your father visited grandfather in America." She said.
"That's right and through those duels we got to know each other and we became friends soon after." Karen smiled. "And if you can't understand that then you can't truly be America's Champion."
Rebecca looked down for a moment before glancing at Yugi. "Yugi, I…" She began.
"It's fine Rebecca." Yugi assured with a smile.
"Thank you Yugi." Rebecca smiled tearfully, looking at Karen. "And thank you for coming with me Karen."
"No need to thank me, it's like I said we're friends after all." Karen smiled.
"Rebecca here." Yugi said, holding out a card.
Rebecca looked at the card curiously taking it. "The Ties of Friendship?" She read.
"Yeah. I want you to have it." Yugi nodded.
"Yugi!" Rebecca smiled happily.
Well looks like things turned out well in the end. Fire smiled.
Yeah thankfully. Karen thought with a nod. And I think I've learned more about myself thanks to this duel.
Fire smiled down at Karen before glancing at Yugi and Rebecca and grew wide eyed upon seeing a shadow behind Yugi which looked back at her. Karen, feeling Fire suddenly tense, looking up at the spirit. Fire? She thought.
Sorry Karen, but I need to take over. Fire spoke.
"Eh? What do you-!" Karen gasped as her bracelet glowed to everyone's shock.
"What's going on?!" Jonouchi gaped.
Once the glowing stopped they gasped to see Karen's features had suddenly sharpened and matured, becoming slightly taller, and her hair becoming a blazing vermillion with a wispy appearance. "Fire?" Iemitsu and Rebecca questioned shocked.
"Fire?" The others spoke confused.
Fire! What's going on?! Karen questioned, shocked, appearing next to Fire as a spirit.
Fire sighed softly before giving a small smile walking to Yugi. "Sorry Yugi-san but if it's not too much trouble. But would you give me the honor of a duel?" She asked.
"A duel?!" Jonouchi gaped.
"Or more specifically." Fire replied, glancing to the side. "You and that Spirit with you."
Yugi and the others gasped as the Millennium Puzzled glowed as well allowing Yami to come forth. "So you're the Spirit of that bracelet." He frowned.
"Yes that's right." Fire nodded. "I am Fire, and like you I am a spirit in the Millennium item in my case the Millennium Bracelet. I'll admit I am surprised to see someone like myself and Karen."
"The same can go for me and Aibou." Yami replied suspiciously. "What are you after?"
"Now ease yourself I am not here to hurt anyone." Fire assured with a light smile. "It's as I said I wish for the honor to duel the Duelist King. Or will you back out?"
Fire what are you doing?! Karen gaped. You can't just-
Mou Hitori no Boku.
Karen grew wide eyed quickly looking up and gaped to see Yugi, a spirit like herself. Yugi-san! She gasped.
Yugi grew wide eyed looking up surprised to see Karen as well. Karen-san?! He gasped.
"Oh so it looks like they can see each other." Fire remarked with a smile.
"Aibou you can see Karen?" Yami questioned surprised.
Yeah. Karen-san the spirit. Yugi began.
No, no! Fire isn't someone bad I can promise you. Karen quickly assured. She doesn't usually do something like this. Fire what's going on?!
"I'm curious to duel him myself of course no strings attached whatsoever." Fire smiled.
If you wanted to duel him you could've just told me. Karen groaned.
"Oi Yugi what's going on?! Jonouchi demanded.
"She said, spirit. Is it like with Bakura-kun and the Millennium Ring?" Anzu questioned worried.
"Not again!" Honda groaned.
Yami looked at Fire for a moment before speaking. "You only wish to duel?" He questioned.
"That's right, as the Duelist King you are strong and I love dueling strong people." Fire grinned.
She doesn't seem to be dangerous or emanating a dark aura about her nor is she releasing her power for a Shadow Game. Yami thought, glancing at Karen who was sighing at Fire. And it doesn't seem like the host is in any danger if anything she seems very familiar with the spirit.
"Well do you have an answer?" Fire asked.
"What if I refuse?" Yami questioned.
"Then that will be it." Fire replied nonchalantly, much to Yami's shock. "I won't force you to a duel, not my style."
"Yeah it really isn't." Iemitsu snorted.
"But I know you'll accept." Fire smirked.
"What makes you say that?" Yami frowned.
"Because you no doubt have the pride of a duelist. A pride that won't let you back out from a challenge." Fire replied.
She called it! Anzu, Jonouchi, and Honda thought with a sweatdropped.
"So what will you do Spirit, or do you have a name?" Fire smirked.
Yami looked at Fire for a moment before he smirked as well. "It is Yami and I accept your challenge Fire!"
Aurasoul: And that is the end of this chapter for my Original Yugioh story hope you all treat my OCs Karen and Fire kindly and I hope you all enjoy it and please read and review so until then! And once again a happy birthday to our very first Yugioh protagonist and King of Games Yugi!
