As the ink cleared up, Keith found that the room had cleared out. Even Hunk and Pidge were nowhere to be found. The only indication someone had been there was the musical instruments the band were playing had been left on the stage.

"Well, so much for that," Keith muttered with a sigh. As he went to swim away from the stage, Keith flinched as he felt his fins run across something. Looking beneath him, he found that it was bass the manta ray had been playing. Keith let out a soft chuckle before turning to the drums and playing a few beats on them. He then moved onto the saxophone and blew into it, a large bubble forming out the other end.

Keith couldn't help but move onto the piano. He wasn't sure why but he ran his fingers across it and started singing a few chords.

"La, la, la, la, la," Keith let out a soft sigh as something washed over him. He wasn't sure what that feeling was or where it came from. "La, la, la, la," Keith frowned as he played the piano as a song came to him.

"Under the bright blue

Endless sky"

Slav froze from he was hiding as he heard the Prince sing the first two lines to a certain lullaby.

"Wait. I remember that

How I know that song

I remember sitting in the moonlight and that feeling"

As Keith swam away from the piano, he sat on the edge of the stage and wrapped his arms around himself as a warm feeling washed over him. Before long, Pidge and Hunk came out of their hiding spots and stood by the Prince.

"What's that feeling?

I remember

Yes

How I know that song

Though it's been so long

I remember happiness without a floor or ceiling"

Keith got off the stage and grabbed onto Hunk before he spun them around with a smile. Hunk mirrored his smile hearing the Prince sing.

"What's that feeling?

I remember

La, la, la, la, la, la, la"

As Keith continued to sing, everyone came out of their hiding spots and started to sing along with the Prince.

"La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la -

La, la, la, la, la, la, la -

La

La, la, la, la, la, la, la La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la

Laa, la, la"

Eventually, the band began to play along to the Prince's song, smiles on their faces as his voice reminded them of a lost King.

"Oh!

I remember him

And how we were

I remember wanting what the evening would be bringing

I remember singing

Under the bright blue

Endless sky"

As Keith continued to sing, he could feel memories wash over him. Memories of someone dear to him who had been lost years ago. Memories of times when the kingdom was happy and magical.

"And I

I remember

I remember music

And I'm never going back to the silent law they wrote

I will sing in every tempo, every last chromatic note

For I

I remember him

I remember music

And I remember

Love"

Slav eventually came out of his hiding spot and swam up the Prince with a scowl on his face.

"This can't happen," Slav said with a panicked look on his face.

"Love"

"You are the Prince and your father is the King-" Slav said but Keith continued to ignore him.

"Oh come Slav," Pidge said as she and Hunk swam up to the pair. "You really think he'd spill the secret after we all just watched him sing?"

"She has a point," Hunk said with a smile. "And I trust Keith."

"Fine," Slav muttered with a smile. "Sven?"

Upon his name being called, a merman swam up who oddly looked like his father and held a hand up, Keith repeating the action.

"Your Highness, do you promise to jump, jive, wail, groove, rock steady, and lend a helping hand to your fellow music lovers?" he asked, a thick accent in his voice.

"I do," Keith said with a nod.

"Well, that's that then," Pidge said with a smile.

The next morning, Shiro had called Slav to the throne room a few moments after he was ready for the day.

"Good morning, Your Majesty," Slav said with a bow as he stopped before the throne.

"Good morning Slav," Shiro said bowing his head before his attention was brought to someone else who entered the throne room. "Good morning Lotor."

"Good morning, Your Majesty," Lotor said with a bow as he swam up beside Slav and bowed. The pair shared an equally heated glare before their attention was brought back to Shio.

"I have a problem to discuss with the pair of you," Shiro said with a sigh.

"A problem?" Slav asked to which Shiro nodded.

"With Keith."

"Keith? I-"

"I'm so glad you also see the problem Your Majesty," Lotor said with a smile. "He's beginning to be rebellious against your orders, I purpose we put together a plan to crush that fire from inside once and for all!"

"Absolutely not!" Slav snapped glaring at Lotor before swimming up beside Shiro. "Keith is a teenager still and every teenager goes through a rebellious phase with their parents, I know I did."

"I just don't understand him," Shiro said with a sigh. "I never had this amount of trouble with his sisters, a few small spats once in a while but that's beside the point."

"As Slav said, everyone goes through these fazes," Lotor said mentally rolling his eyes at the thought of agreeing with Slav. "Which is why we should shave their heads!"

"And cause more rebellion?" Slav asked with wide eyes before shaking his head. "We can drop that idea right here right now."

"Hira was never this difficult, she was the easiest out of her siblings," Shiro said with a soft smile.

"You forget Your Majesty, there was the incident with Hira and the blowfish," Slav pointed out with a shudder. "Took her a whole two months to trust blowfishes again."

"And the two weeks following that incident to deep clean the palace," Lotor pointed out.

"Then there was Ezor and the stingray," Slav said to which Shiro nodded.

"I still feel it every time I think about it," Lotor said with a shiver as he remembered the sting from the stingray.

"And when Allura got her head stuck in a conch shell chasing her-"

"That was me," Lotor said with a glare before it was broken by Shiro getting off his throne.

"You both have points, still, Lotor it seems you could use a little help," Shiro said grabbing onto his trident and turning to Slav. "Slav, I'm trusting you to look after Keith from today on, no offense to your abilities Lotor."

"Of course not Your Majesty," Lotor said before glaring at the King as he turned away. The pair bowed as Shiro started to head out of the throne room to prepare for the morning walk.

"Soft shell."

"Tardy boy."

"Stick eye."

"Eye sore."

"Backstabber."

" L'Oréal addict."

"Bottom feeder."

"Babysitter!"

Shiro turned as the two continued to argue with a sigh.

"Dismissed," he said which caused the two to look at him before they gave a smile and exited the throne room.

Meanwhile, Keith's sisters were all watching him as he turned over in his bed. Now, they weren't just watching him because he was adorable when he slept, they were watching him for another reason.

He was humming.

Keith yawned and slowly opened his eyes, only to jump as he saw his sister's staring at him, in concern.

"Um, good morning?" Keith asked as he slowly sat up. "Something wrong?"

"Oh nothing's wrong," Allura said shaking her head before her face turned serious and she placed her hands on her hips. "Except for the fact that you were humming in your sleep?"

"Was I?" Keith asked with a small smile.

"You were," Shay confirmed with a nod.

"Out loud," Narti said as Keith climbed out of his bed and swam to grab his brush.

"It was just a dream," Keith said as he brushed through his hair quickly and put the brush back down. "Don't worry about it."

"If it was just a dream, why did we wake up at midnight to find your bed empty?" Hira asked giving Keith a look.

"Are you sure it wasn't just your eyes playing a trick with you?" Keith asked to which Hira rolled her eyes.

"Sure, we all had bad eyes last night," Hira said.

"Moving on, your bed was empty last night," Acxa said turning to Keith. "Two hours past our curfew by the way."

"Was it?" Keith asked with a smile on his face.

"Were you sneaking out to see someone?" Shay said with a smile. "Someone special?"

"Ugh, even Keith has someone before I do," Ezor said with a groan.

"Drama queen much?" Acxa asked with a roll of her eyes.

"Sorry, I know, I am happy for your Keith," Ezor said with a sigh. "It's just that I am three years older than you and you're going to have your first kiss before I do."

"You almost did, with Zethrid remember?" Shay said with a smile.

"Wait, Zethrid? You really almost kissed Zethrid?" Hira asked with a laugh.

"It was on a dare!" Ezor exclaimed, her cheeks flushing.

"Oh like you wouldn't kiss her anyways," Narti replied to which her sisters started laughing.

"Moving on!" Allura announced before Ezor could retort. "Let's get back to the subject at hand here."

"Well, you don't have to worry Ezor, it wasn't someone special," Keith said to which Ezor let out a sigh of relief. "I was just helping out a friend past the kelp forest."

"Are we sure it was just a friend?" Acxa asked with a teasing smile.

"If you were just helping a friend, then where did this come from?" Allura asked as she pulled the maraca out from under Keith's pillow. Keith's eyes widened and he quickly snatched the maraca from Allura, his sister's all turned to him with wide eyes as he hid it back under his pillow.

"Keith, was that-"

"Can imagine what would have happened if Dad found you with that?" Allura asked as Keith turned back to his sisters. "It would completely cause an entire meltdown."

"But he won't," Keith said with a smile. "Because he's never here, he's only here when he says goodnight to us."

"Don't get cute, it doesn't work anymore," Allura said with a roll of her eyes. "For real now, where were you last night?"

There were a few minutes of silence as his sisters stared at him. Keith bit his lip with a nervous look on his face before he cracked.

"Fine, I was listening to music in an underground club," Keith blurted out.

"Nice try," Allura said crossing her arms, until she saw the look on Keith's face. "Wait, were you really?"

"Yeah," Keith said with a nod.

"You were listening to music?" Hira exclaimed with wide eyes.

"For real?" Acxa asked to which Keith nodded as his sister's surrounded him, excluding Allura who was still looking at him in shock. "No way."

"What was it like? Was it magical?" Shay asked with a smile, her eyes shimmering.

"Come on," Narti whined as Keith was taking too long to answer their questions. "Spill the details."

"It was amazing," Keith said with a smile. "Everyone was dancing, they were singing, there was music playing, it just made you feel like…"

"Feel like what?" Ezor asked as Keith's smile grew softer as he turned back to his sister's.

"It felt like when Mom was still here," Keith said which made his sister's smiles turn soft, even Allura smiled softly. It had been years since their mother had died, yet they could still remember that warm and fuzzy feeling of their mother's presence in the kingdom.

"Keith," Shay said softly, catching everyone's attention. "I wanna hear it too."

"You do?" Keith asked to which Shay nodded.

"So do I!" Hira exclaimed with a smile.

"Me too!" Narti exclaimed.

"Count me in," Acxa said with a smile.

"I wanna hear it!" Ezor exclaimed.

"Everyone wants to hear it, please Keith?" Shay asked to which Keith nodded softly.

"Okay, we'll all go tonight, after everyone goes to bed."

"Yes! I'm so excited!"

"Music! We're really gonna hear music!"

"Do you think there will be boys there?"

"Guess you'll have to go and find out."

"Forget the boys, I hope there are girls there."

"Only you would say that Ezor."

"Okay, there's no way this is happening," Allura said breaking the celebration, "If you guys go tonight, I'll-"

"Oh lighten up Allura," Hira said with a roll of her eyes as she played with one of Allura's free bangs. "Learn to have a little fun."

"Come on Allura," Keith said before his sister's started giving her the puppy eyes. Allura tried to resist before she looked at Keith who's smile had started to fall and let out a sigh.

"Fine."

"Yay!"

"Good morning Your Highnesse's," Lotor said as he headed into the bedroom with Rolo behind him. The teens were quick to calm down to hide the secret. "Time to-" Lotor froze as he saw the teens were already out of bed and smiling at him.

"Good morning Lotor, Rolo," Allura said with a smile. "Let's go everyone."

"They're early," Rolo said with wide eyes as the teens swam by him and Lotor.

"But why, they're never early?" Lotor asked as the teens headed to the throne room. He and Rolo shared a glance at each other before Lotor followed after the teens and Rolo headed back to Lotor's chambers.

Author's Note:

A little bit of a shorter chapter but I wanted to get this out before my university work starts to pile up. I'm on reading break on Monday but I have lots of homework to work on during the week so I'll be unable to write until it starts to slow down again.

Anyways, Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I'm one of the ones who doesn't have a significant other to celebrate with. But that's okay, I can still celebrate love with my friends (Virtually of course because of COVID) and my family. As well as self-love. Be sure to take time for yourself when you need it!

Until next time!
