The book hit the wall with a dull thud, landing face down on the floor, one of its pages bent in. Hermione didn't even notice. Percy blinked, staring at the book and Hermione.
"That was a first edition!"
"I don't care! How could you? How could you betray me?"
"Wait, what? How did I betray you?" Percy asked, his face scrunching up in confusion.
"You told your mum about everything!" Hermione howled. Percy stood there, frozen for a moment before rushing across the room and taking Hermione in his arms.
"Hermione, my darling, I didn't tell Mum anything! I promise."
"She came by. Arms full of books about conceiving, a bag of herbs for me to take, or make into tea, I wasn't really paying attention by that point. She knows we're trying, that we're failing. Who did you tell then?" Hermione asked, as Percy wiped the tears from her brown eyes.
"No one. I told no one about this. Someone must have guessed, or was spying on us? Know of anyone who would do that?"
"Rita's gone, in the States, or Africa, or somewhere, no it's not her. She wouldn't have told your mum anyway, just put a scathing article in the paper about how little miss war hero can't have a baby."
"Ron was here," Percy whispered, the blood draining from his face. Hermione pulled back a little, looking into his eyes.
"When?"
"Last week, he came by last week to ask for something, I don't remember what. I let him in, he's my brother."
"I know, Percy, I know, and if it were me, I would have done the same. Do you think..."
"He went snooping, looking for something to split us up? Yes, I do. Lavender's kicked him out again from what I hear."
"Idiot, if he'd just get over me like I got over him he'd find himself a lot happier."
"Hermione, we both know that's not going to happen. Now he's gone to Mum with our problems. What do you want to do? It's your call, darling."
"I want to hex him into next week."
"And what would that accomplish?"
"Nothing," Hermione admitted. "Do you have a better idea?"
"I do, we could do exactly what would make him the most mad, ignore him, enjoy our lives together. I've got some vacation days at work I need to use up before the year ends. How about we go on a holiday, the two of us, like a second honeymoon?"
"Maybe somewhere tropical?" Hermione suggested, her eyes starting to sparkle with something besides tears. "I can have Ginny watch Crookshanks. They get along great."
"Good idea. Why don't you go talk to her and I'll start getting things set in motion?"
"I love you, Percy, you always know exactly the right thing to say," Hermione laughed, giving her husband a kiss, which he happily returned.
"So, Percy and I are going to take a second honeymoon, since Ron can't stay out of our business, and I was wondering if you'd watch Crooks for me?"
"I'd love to. Does this have something to do with Mum pestering you about having a baby? She might have been muttering something about it."
"Yes, it does. Ron's been snooping and found out Percy and I-"
"I don't want to hear it! Just let me know when you're leaving and I'll pick up Crooks. Did Percy tell you not to hex Ron again?"
"Yes."
"Am I under orders to do to the same?"
"He's your brother, siblings hex each other all the time, don't they?" Hermione asked, giving Ginny an innocent expression. Ginny laughed nodding.
"That they do. Have fun," she added.

Hermione smiled, stepping back into her and Percy's flat. The two weeks doing a tour of tropical islands had been exactly what she needed. She could still smell the salt of the ocean. Although, that might have something to do with the fact there was still sand in her hair. She doubted she'd ever get it all out.
"Do you want to start unpacking now, or later?" Percy asked, putting a hand on her tanned shoulder.
"Later, right now, nap," she stated, kissing him and pulling him to their bedroom. She knew she'd have to pick up Crookshanks later, but right now, she was going continue to enjoy the holiday with her husband for as long as she could.
