Chapter 10
The girls quickly ran, reaching the riverside Fire gasping.
There! She yelled. Karen stopped with Kisara following for them to gasp to witness Slifer the Sky Dragon before their eyes.
"There's absolutely no way that you can defeat me, Pharaoh!" Marik spoke through his Mind Slave, Strings.
"Ugh…" Yami scowled.
"Yami!" Karen gasped worriedly.
"Don't interfere, Karen." They gasped looking up to see Kaiba and Mokuba, who were watching the duel.
"Seto you're here too." Karen blinked.
"Of course I am." Kaiba huffed. "If there's an Egyptian God Card being played, I'm there."
Yami, you have to win this. Beat God. Fire frowned, clutching her hands tightly.
"Is there even a way Yami can win?" Kisara wondered. "No matter what monster he Summons, it'll lose 2000 ATK or DEF, depending on the mode he Summons it in. And if that Summoned monster's ATK or DEF is reduced to 0, it's automatically destroyed."
"He'll find a way. He always does." Karen frowned.
"Humph. Let's see if he figures it out." Kaiba remarked. "Because I already did."
"Eh?" Mokuba spoke, confused.
Soon during the course of the duel, Yami managed to gain control of Revival Jam; thus creating an Infinite Loop that Marik was forced into.
"Rargh! I can't escape!" Marik cried out.
"Right. Even if God is immortal." Karen gasped softly.
The Duelist isn't. Fire smirked.
Eventually, Strings had drawn through his whole Deck. Marik clenched the Millennium Rod with his right hand.
"How could I lose with an Egyptian God Card in my Deck?!" Marik roared angrily. "You'll pay Yami! You may have defeated Slifer, but I have another Egyptian God! A much more powerful one!"
"You did it Yami!" Karen smiled, running to him.
"Thank you, Karen." Yami spoke.
"Here Yugi." Mokuba said, walking to them. "Due to the ante rule, you get Slifer the Sky Dragon since you won. And a Puzzle Card too of course."
"Thank you." Yami thanked Mokuba as he took both from him.
"Alright, enough celebration." Kaiba scoffed as he approached Yami. "It's time for our duel, Yugi."
"Seto you can't be serious." Karen gaped. Kaiba looked at Karen in irritation.
"Look at my face. Do I look serious to you?"
He doesn't waste time. Fire deadpanned.
"Listen to me, Seto. We have more important matters here." Karen began.
"If you mean your friends are missing, I'm already helping you look." Kaiba scowled. "So stop whining so much and let me duel Yugi."
"I wonder if it'll go as you plan Seto Kaiba." They gasped quickly, turning to see String standing as the Millennium emblem glowed.
"Marik!" Karen gasped.
"I must give you credit for saving the Blue Eyes Maiden, Karen Yamamoto. And even if Yugi managed to defeat my puppet in the end, the God Cards will return to me." Marik smirked.
'We'll see about that, Marik!" Yami shot back.
"Heh heh. So you may think Nameless Pharaoh. But I have eyes in this City. Even now I have eyes on your friends. Like say, that Duelist Jonouchi." Marik smirked. "I can easily get the God Cards back, but involving your friends. After all, the Rare Hunters have been watching them so I can use them any time I wish."
"How dare you!" Karen snapped.
"Oh? Did I hit a nerve?" Marik sneered. "Either way, they're my next targets. At this point, I'm now in the City."
He's here?! Karen thought, shocked.
"Once I have your friends, you'll have no choice but to duel! Hahaha!" Marik laughed before releasing Strings from his control and Strings fell forward.
"We have to go find Jonouchi-kun!" Karen frowned.
"Humph. I'm only helping you look because Yugi demanded me to." Kaiba scowled.
"Oh not because-" Karen began, but Mokuba quickly interrupted.
"Save it for later Karen." He quickly said. "You and Kisara should go look for them at one side of the City. Nii-sama and Yugi can look at the other side."
"That works." Kisara nodded.
"Ok." Karen nodded.
"Don't worry Karen. We'll find them." Yami said calmly, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Shouldn't I say that to you?" Karen asked with a weak smile.
"Fair point." Yami chuckled.
"Come on Karen. Let's go look." Kisara spoke.
"Right." Karen nodded, looking at them. "Be careful."
"Humph." Kaiba grunted. "Whatever. Come on Yugi. Let's get this over with as soon as possible."
"Right." Yami nodded.
"Mmm nothing." Kisara frowned, looking around before looking up at a pole. "Do you see any of them Fire?" Leaping down from the pole, Fire sighed, shaking her head as she flicked her hair back.
"No, sadly. I never realized how big this City is. It's like finding needles in a haystack." She scowled, before blinking. "Er, did I use that expression right?"
"You did." Kisara laughed lightly. "Either way, you're right. Finding Jonouchi should be easy because he's in the tournament. The others are not."
"Knowing Anzu, she would want to stick with either Yugi or Jonouchi to support them. So maybe we'll find her with Jonouchi." Fire frowned. "Honda on the other hand… Now that I think about it, Karen and I haven't seen him at all."
"Well that's not good." Kisara frowned deeply. Fire frowned thinking deeply.
Think now. Where could Honda have gone? No way he would miss this since he would want to support Yugi and Jonouchi too... She thought before she gasped.
"Wait a sec…"
Fire got out her phone to double check the date. "The hospital…?" She muttered.
"The hospital?" Kisara repeated.
"Not the one here." Fire spoke. "See Jonouchi has a younger sister named Shizuka who lives with their mom. She recently had surgery for her eyes and was hoping to watch Jonouchi duel for Battle City once her bandages were removed."
"Ah." Kisara hummed.
"It could be possible Honda went to get Shizuka to bring her here. That's why we haven't seen him." Fire frowned. Before Kisara could reply, Karen/Fire's phone went off vibrating in her pocket. Fire got out the phone, picking up.
"Hello?" Fire answered.
"Shizuka's gone!" Fire could hear Honda's panicked voice on the other end. Fire grew wide eyed at this.
"Wait what?! Honda calm down and tell me what happened." She frowned.
"I don't know anything! All I know is that when I went to Shizuka's hospital room to bring her back with me to the City, her hospital room was empty!"
How did Marik find out about Shizuka?! Karen gaped.
"Tch…! Honda I need you to stay calm just come back to the City. There's a chance Shizuka is here somewhere." Fire frowned.
"Alright. I'll do that." Honda spoke. "I'll see you guys when I get back." He then hung up.
"Things are just getting worse." Fire muttered.
"I can tell." Kisara remarked. "Well, if Marik just arrived in the City, he can't be too far in."
"Yet if he has Shizuka, then it won't be hard for him to get the others now." Fire frowned. "Come on. Let's go meet up with Honda."
"Yeah." Kisara nodded. "That should be the train station if I remember right."
"That's right." Fire nodded, as they walked.
"Hold it right there, missys!" They stopped, both frowning as they turned.
"We can't have you going any further!" A 2nd hooded figure spoke.
"Rare Hunters." Fire grunted.
"That's right. Call me Ordo." The first hooded figure spoke.
"And I'm Anord." The second hooded figure added.
"Which means you were sent here to battle us." Fire stated.
"Correct." Ordo confirmed as the light went over his face to reveal it. Same with Anord.
"If you want to get to your precious friends, you'll have to get past us." Anord added.
Fire clutched her hand tightly, frowning.
No doubt Marik is planning to separate us from the others in order to get his plan finished. She thought. But we need to go along if we want to know where they are.
"What's stopping us from walking past you 2?" Kisara inquired.
"Wait Kisara." Fire frowned. "Marik has Shizuka, we can't make any mistakes now."
"Heheh….. Smart thinking, Nameless Guardian." Anord chuckled darkly.
"In theory, the Blue-Eyes Maiden is right." Ordo added. "You 2 could just walk past us. But should you choose that option, you'll never find your little friends in time."
"Damn you…!" Fire growled.
"But hey, it's your 2's choice!" Anord cackled.
"Fine. We'll duel you in a Tag Duel." Kisara relented.
"Excellent!" Ordo smirked. He pointed to the 2nd tallest building in the surrounding area. "Meet us atop that building in 5 minutes. Once you do, our Tag Duel will begin."
"Fine." Fire snapped.
"See you 2 then!" Anord laughed as the 2 leapt into the air and towards the destination they told Fire and Kisara.
"Those guys are already annoying me." Fire muttered.
"Well, good thing you're not an archeologist." Kisara remarked. "Because you'd have to deal with the Rare Hunters a lot more than in a tournament like this one."
"The horror." Fire sighed. "We have to play this right. The fact they already have Shizuka means they have leverage. If we make a mistake, it'll be taken out by her."
"Or worse." Kisara added in agreement.
"For right now, all we can do is play along." Fire replied. "Once we get the location, we go from there."
"Right." Kisara nodded in agreement before frowning. "But we also need to work together as a team. If we don't we'll lose for sure."
"My thoughts exactly." Fire nodded, looking at Kisara. "So let's be sure to have each other's backs then."
"Of course!" Kisara smiled. Fire looked at her before they headed for the building.
"Ah, so you 2 actually decided to show up." Anord remarked.
"Just explain your conditions." Fire frowned, holding her hair back against the wind.
"The conditions are simple." Ordo began. "Since this is a 2 on 2 match, this shall become a Tag Duel. We each have our own fields, hands, Life Points, and GYs. However, this doesn't prevent you from using your teammates GY to your advantage."
"Just in case you 2 get any funny ideas, you can't discuss a well thought out strategy during this duel." Anord added. "You may hint to each other on what to do, but that's all we will allow. Can't you 2 have sweeping right through us, now can we? Heheheheh….."
"So you know we could beat you 2." Fire stated.
"It's more of an extra precaution than fear." Ordo spoke. "If we truly feared you 2, we wouldn't have gone through with this."
"Extra precaution or not, me and Fire will still beat you." Kisara pointed out.
"Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, Blue-Eyes Maiden." Anord mocked.
"And judging by where we are, I take it the losers won't be leaving alive." Fire frowned.
"You're correct." Ordo confirmed. "Lose the duel and the glass beneath you will shatter, plummeting you towards the ground level. We are 45 stories above the ground. You'll die from shock before you even hit the ground."
"Explains the bombs." Fire glanced to see them.
"Our LP counter boxes, yes." Anord spoke.
"Then let's get started." Fire said.
"I couldn't agree more!" Ordo spoke as the 4 of them drew their 5 card starting hands.
"DUEL!"
"I'll start first!" Ordo declared as he drew. (Ordo's hand: 6 cards. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4000. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 4000.) Ordo looked at his hand and smiled.
"I like this hand." He grinned, grabbing 2 cards from his hand. "I activate Darklord Ixchel's effect. I discard her and Darklord Superbia to draw 2 cards!" He discarded them and drew 2 more cards.
Darklords huh. Fire thought with a frown.
"Next up, I activate the Continuous Spell, Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen." Ordo continued. "Now once per turn, if I control no monsters, I can Special Summon a Fairy monster from my hand. I choose to Special Summon Darklord Asmodeus from my hand!" Descending from above them was a purple-winged, white-skinned and white clothed Fallen Angel, with black gloves on its hands and its eyes reddish-black. (Darklord Asmodeus, Level 8 DARK Fairy-type monster, ATK/DEF: 3000/2500. Ordo's hand: 4 cards. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4000. "That thing has equal stats to that of a Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Kisara gaped.
"Heh heh! That's right!" Ordo grinned. "But now for its effect! Once per turn, I can send 1 Fairy from my Deck to the GY via its effect." He pulled his Deck out of his duel disk and looked through it. "Let's see…..ah yes! I send Athena from my Deck to the GY!" After that, he put his Deck back into his duel disk, which auto-shuffled.
"But don't think I'm done." Ordo continued. "Next I activate Darklord Contact! I shall use it to revive Darklord Superbia from my GY in Defense Mode! On top of that, since Superbia was Special Summoned from the GY, another Fairy can come and join it! Like Athena!" The goddess of war, along with the dark fairy that symbolizes Pride either side of Asmodeus. (Darklord Superbia, Level 8 DARK Fairy-type monster, ATK/DEF: 2900/2400. Athena, Level 7 LIGHT Fairy-type monster, ATK/DEF: 2600/800. Ordo's hand: 3 cards. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4000. "But that's not all!" Anord grinned. "Show them, Ordo!"
"Of course!" Ordo smirked. "I activate Athena's effect! By Tributing my Superbia, I can bring it back to my field in Attack Mode! And since that's the case, Superbia revives Ixchel from my GY as well!" The female dark fairy that symbolizes suicide appeared next to Superbia. (Darklord Ixchel, Level 10 DARK Fairy-type monster, ATK/DEF: 2500/2900. Ordo's hand: 3 cards. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4000. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 4000.)
"He Summoned 4 monsters at once….?!" Kisara breathed, but not before noticing Athena was glowing yellow. "Hey, what is-?"
"Oh how rude of me! Athena's 2nd effect automatically activates each time a Fairy monster is Summoned. Since 2 were just Summoned in her presence, you take a total of 1200 damage! Of course I could just give it to one of you and spare the other. Hmm… What to do..."
He'll either go for 600 damage to each of us, or deal one of us a total of 1200 damage. Fire thought with a frown.
"Deal the damage to Kisara!" Anord whispered to Ordo via their communication devices that were unseen. "She is the bigger threat!" Ordo whispered back.
"That may be true, but that's only a power scale level." Ordo told his partner. "We know a lot more about her Deck than her own partner. But in a case like this, sharing is best."
"I shall deal 600 damage to both of you!" Ordo grinned. "Now Athena, fire!" Athena raised her scepter and fired 2 bolts of energy at Fire and Kisara; dealing them both 600 damage. (Fire/Kisara's LP: 4000 - 600 = 3400. Ordo's hand: 3 cards. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 3400. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. "Ugh…..!" Kisara grunted. "Is that all you got?"
"Not quite! I set 2 cards face-down to conclude my turn!" Ordo grinned. (Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 3400. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.)
"Even if none of us can attack on the first turn, he took advantage of his Deck's specialty of Special Summoning to still cause damage and form a strong line up." Fire muttered.
"Yeah." Kisara nodded.
"So, which one of you will go first for your team?" Anord questioned.
"I'll go first, you mind?" Fire asked Kisara.
"Sure." Kisara smiled. "Since we can't attack, defense is the best option we have right now. Ordo's monsters are too strong to deal with right now."
"That's for sure." Fire nodded. "My turn, draw!" (Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 6 cards. Fire's LP: 3400. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.)
The Darklords are fallen angels that specialize in being sent to the GY to be then resurrected. And with Athena on the field as well, every time a Fairy is Summoned, we take damage. And thanks to the Continuous Spell Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen and Darklord's effects, it won't be too hard to do. Really a solid combo and strategy. Fire thought. In order to get good footing, we would need to get rid of Athena and Valhalla. But that's what they'll no doubt expect. For now, we can only strengthen our defenses.
Fire looked to her hand for a moment.
"I Summon Fire Lotus Celtic Maiden in Defense Mode." She said, as her Maiden appeared. (Fire Lotus Celtic Maiden, Attribute: LIGHT, Level: 4, Type: Spellcaster/Effect, ATK/DEF: 1300/1400. Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 3400. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.)
"Celtic Maiden's effect now activates. When she is Summoned, I can add 1 Spell card from my Deck to my hand." Fire said, taking a card from her Deck. "I add Lotus Feather Dance to my hand. I place 2 cards face-down and end my turn." (Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 5 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 4 cards. Fire's LP: 3400. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. In a tag team duel, players can use their partners cards and vice versa. Kisara can use Celtic Maiden for a Tribute Summon for 1 of her dragons. Fire thought. Although, it depends what the other one does.
"Fascinating." Anord mused. "My turn. Draw!" (Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 6 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 4 cards. Fire's LP: 3400. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.) Anord looked at his hand and smiled. "I like this hand. I'll start off by activating the Ritual Spell, Super Soldier Synthesis! This card allows me to Ritual Summon a Black Luster Soldier Ritual monster, using monsters form my hand or Deck that equal Level 8; 1 monster from my hand and the other from my Deck. However, their attributes must be LIGHT and DARK. One from hand and the other from the Deck." Anord grabbed 2 monsters, 1 from his hand, and another from his Deck. "I use the Level 4 Beginning Knight from my hand and Evening Twilight Knight from my Deck!"
"Black Luster Soldier?!" Fire gasped.
"But I thought only Yugi had such cards!" Kisara added.
"We are Rare Hunters. We will have access to such rare and valuable cards." Anord smirked. "And I think you 2 will recognize the monster I'm Ritual Summoning. Descend now! Level 8! Black Luster Soldier!" The yellow, black and red-armored warrior appeared onto Anord's field. (Black Luster Soldier, Level 8 EARTH Warrior-type Ritual monster, ATK/DEF: 3000/2500. Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 3 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 4 cards. Fire's LP: 3400. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.)
"It really is the legendary soldier…" Kisara whispered.
"Yes." Anord grinned. "And with it's might, you'll both fall! For example…" He thrusted his right hand forward. "I activate Black Luster Soldier's effect!"
"Black Luster Soldier doesn't have an effect!" Fire snapped.
"Then I suggest you read the card again." Ordo remarked. "Because thanks to Beginning and Evening Knights, my partner's Black Luster Soldier has effects!"
"What?!" Fire gaped.
"Say goodbye to your Maiden!" Anord grinned.
"Ugh! I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Sunlight Cure! By Tributing my LIGHT attribute Celtic Maiden I gain LP equal to her ATK and I draw 1 card!" Fire yelled.
"That's fine." Anord remarked as Fire's LP rose to 4700. (Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 3 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4700. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.)
There goes hoping to save that card. But better than having my monster banished. Fire frowned.
"No matter. Black Luster Soldier has 1 other effect it can use." Anord continued. "Which is to banish a card from either of your hands face-down until your next End Phase. The question is, which card to banish from who's hand?" He points at Kisara. "How about your center card?" Kisara looked at the card and placed it in her pocket.
"You did banish a useful card, but that's okay." Kisara shrugged.
"Oh? Then perhaps you'll like this." Anord continued. "I banish my 2 Knights in order to Special Summon yet another rare card! Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning to my field!" The dark blue-armored soldier appeared next to the Ritual Black Luster Soldier. (Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Level 8 LIGHT Warrior-type monster, ATK/DEF: 3000/2500. Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 2 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4700. Kisara's hand: 4 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.)
"Another one?!" Kisara gaped.
"That's not all." Anord spoke as 2 cards ejected out of his Deck; thus adding them to his hand. "Since my 2 Knights were banished from my GY, I get to add 1 Ritual Spell and 1 Ritual Monster from my Deck to my hand. I choose the Ritual Spell Black Luster Coronation and Black Luster Soldier - Midnight Soldier." He grabbed 2 cards from his hand. "I set 2 cards to end my turn. Your move, Blue-Eyes Maiden. (Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 2 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4700. Kisara's hand: 4 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.)
"You 2 may have a good formation, but I'll tear it down! Draw!" Kisara declared, drawing her card. (Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 4000. Anord's hand: 2 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4700. Kisara's hand: 5 cards. Kisara's LP: 3400.) Kisara looked at her hand and smiled.
Perfect! With Blue-Eyes Fusion, I can use the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand with another one and Alternative White Dragon from my Deck; allowing me to get out Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon and cripple their formation!
"What's wrong Blue-Eyes Maiden?" Ordo questioned. "Not sure what to do?" Kisara glanced at Ordo and scowled.
"A good duelist takes his/her time to make their move." Kisara remarked. "Regardless, I've already thought my move out. So I activate Blue-Eyes Fusion!" As soon as Kisara announced the activation, Ordo's eyes widened in satisfaction.
She fell for it! He thought.
"Ha! Not so fast!" Ordo countered. "I activate the Continuous Trap, Non-Fusion Area!"
"What?!"
"But that's not all I'm doing!" Ordo continued. "I activate Darklord Uprising in response to my own card! Now by sending Darklord Zerato to the GY, I can Fusion Summon using my 3 Darklords on the field! So I fuse Darklords Asmodeus, Superbia, and Ixchel!" All 3 of Ordo's Darklords turned into purple streams and flew upwards into the now created Fusion Portal and began to swirl together. "The fallen angels become the beginning of darkness, the first who has turned against the holy! Come forth ancient dark angel! Fusion Summon! Level 12! Descend now! The First Darklord!" Out of the Fusion Portal came forth a black-armored and white-haired fallen angel, a red halo above his hand, holding a sword in his right hand and a shield in his left. (The First Darklord, Level 12 DARK Fairy-type Fusion monster, ATK/DEF: 4000. Ordo's hand: 0 cards. Ordo's LP: 6800. Anord's hand: 2 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. Fire's hand: 5 cards. Fire's LP: 4700. "The First Darklord. Aka, Lucifer." Ordo explained. "Good luck getting past him! So long as he's on the field, none of our Fairy monsters can be targeted by card effects. Including itself! Its first effect I can't use, but I can use it's 2nd effect! But before that, Athena's effect activates! I shall deal 600 more damage to you, Blue-Eyes Maiden!" Kisara took the next bolt of yellow energy from Athena's scepter, She staggered backward a bit and fell to one knee shortly before standing back up. (Kisara's LP: 3400 - 600 = 2800. "600 damage is nothing!" Kisara retorted.
"Is that so?" Ordo wondered. "Then go ahead and do something. If you can."
"More like she's a pathetic partner." Anord added mockingly. "She fell right into our trap so easily! A moth to a flame I suppose!"
"Kisara…" Fire frowned.
"Now you both can't Fusion Summon!" Ordo sneered. "Of course, that does affect me and my partner as well. But considering I already got out my powerhouse of a Fusion monster out, Non-Fusion Area doesn't affect me that much."
He isn't wrong. Now Kisara won't be able to Fusion Summon her stronger Blue Eyes monsters. Nor can I Fusion Summon Phoenix's evolved form. Fire thought with a frown.
"Tch…!" Kisara grunted. "I Summon Maiden with the Eyes of Blue in Attack Mode and set 2 cards to end my turn." A maiden with long blue hair appeared onto Kisara's field. "I could severely damage your LP with one attack from my Fusion monster, Guardian." Ordo noted. "Since you have no monsters to defend yourself due to my partner's Black Luster Soldier." He then looked at Kisara's field. "And then there's you Blue-Eyes Maiden. Due to my Non-Fusion Area Continuous Trap, your Deck is as good as worthless. But considering what I just drew, things shall become even harder for you 2."
"What do you mean?" Kisara questioned.
"I think we're about to find out." Fire frowned.
"I Summon Indulged Darklord to my field!" Ordo grinned. A brown-haired, black-winged, red-horned, and red-eyed female fallen angel appeared next to The First Darklord, with a lustful look on its face. "Eh? To either of our fields?" Kisara repeated.
"That's right." Ordo confirmed. "So I'll add Darklord Morningstar to my hand and Special Summon Darklord Superbia to your field, Guardian!" A second copy of Darklord Superbia appeared onto the field. This time on Fire's side of the field.

"Superbia on my field?" Fire frowned, looking at the Darklord.
"That's right." Ordo nodded. "Consider it a gift. Now battle! Indulged Darklord, attack Maiden with the Eyes of Blue!" The female fallen angel launched a dark beam of energy from its right hand towards the Kisara lookalike.
He's attacking despite knowing Maiden with the Eyes of Blue's effect? Kisara thought.
"I activate my Maiden's effect!" Kisara announced. "By switching her Defense Position, your attack is negated! After that, I get to Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon to my field!" Upon her Maiden switching to Defense, she opened her hands up and out came the white-scaled, blue-eyed dragon in all of its glory. "A trap!" Fire gasped.
"Now First Darklord, attack Blue-Eyes!" Ordo grinned. The First Darklord raised his right arm up, then did a X slash; making Blue-Eyes cry out as it was destroyed. Kisara tched in response. "Unlike you Guardian, who didn't use much of her Deck, Blue-Eyes Maiden here has." Anord spoke. "Regardless, we both knew you 2 were Fusion users. So we made sure we had strategies to counter that."
"Seems more like Ordo is the one doing the countering of our Decks." Kisara remarked.
"It's how the Darklords play. They counter back against their enemies with the powers they gained by turning against God." Fire frowned.
"That's correct, Nameless Pharaoh's Guardian." Ordo grinned. "And in their own way, they created an Order. Hence why I use this Deck. I end my turn. Your turn, Guardian." (Ordo's hand: 1 card. "Fire." Kisara spoke towards her tag team partner. Fire glanced at Kisara.
Kisara has 600 LP and her Maiden. She won't be able to take any more hits from Athena's effect. Fire thought with a frown. In that case.
"Fire. Handle Anord." Kisara told her. "I'm taking care of Ordo myself."
"Ha! Says the one with only 600 LP!" Ordo mocked. "If you give up now Blue-Eyes Maiden and hand over your rarest card and locator cards, I can assure you that you will be the last Marik sends to the Shadow Realm."
"Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass." Kisara retorted coolly. Fire ignored Ordo, glancing at Kisara.
"You'll handle him then?" She asked. Kisara looked over at Fire and nodded.
"Yes. Ordo is mine." Kisara spoke.
"That is if you get another turn at all." Anord added.
"Very well. I'll leave him to you." Fire said, simply ignoring Anord. "I'll deal with Anord then."
"Fools. How do you plan to overcome our formation?" Ordo questioned. "Plus my partner still has 2 face-downs he has yet to use."
With my hand that won't be a problem. Fire thought, looking at 2 certain cards. But if I go through with it, Kisara will…
"What's the matter Guardian?" Ordo questioned. "Afraid that if you do anything, your partner will lose the Duel?"
"Tch…" Fire scowled.
I can't risk Kisara's life to win….
"Whatever you have planned Fire, do it!" Kisara told her.
"Kisara." Fire spoke, surprised.
"I'll be fine." Kisara continued. "But you have to trust me here."
"You know as well we do that should another Fairy be Summoned, Athena's effect will activate and you'll lose the Duel." Ordo pointed out.
He's right. If I go through with this, it could cost Kisara her life…! Fire thought, clutching her hand tightly.
"You think I don't know that?" Kisara retorted, surprising Ordo and Anord.

"Alright Kisara you better not die." She grunted.
"I won't die." Kisara remarked, grinning slightly.
"Hmph. And I have to thank you Ordo." Fire replied. "For you have given me the perfect sacrifice."
"Sacrifice?" Ordo repeated before his eyes widened. "Oh shit! A Ritual Summon?! Dammit! I knew we should have asked Mask of Light for an extra copy of Mask of Restrict!"
"That's right. I activate the Ritual Spell card, Ritual of the Fire Spirit." Fire smirked. "With this, I sacrifice my Level 8 Superbia!" The burning magic circle appeared beneath Superbia for it to become a lotus flower blazing in a red flame.
"No blood, no bone, no ash. Burn all of your enemies to nothing in the name of the fallen! Ritual Summon! Fire Lotus Spirit Spryzan!" The lotus shattered before Spryzan appeared in a torrent of flames flapping his wings to extinguish them, staring down at Ordo and Anord. (Fire Lotus Spirit Spryzan, Attribute: FIRE, Level: 8, Type: Fairy/Ritual/Effect, ATK/DEF: 3000/2400. Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 6800. Anord's hand: 2 cards. Anord's LP: 4000. "Ha! Since a Fairy has been Summoned, Athena shall blast your partner with 600 points of damage!" Ordo laughed as Athena launched another yellow energy bolt at Kisara; which connected. Or so everyone thought.
"One down, one to go!" Anord laughed.
"Are you sure about that?" Ordo and Anord stopped laughing and turned to look in Kisara's direction. The smoke cleared from Kisara's side of the field. On her field stood 2 dragons, which both roared in Ordo and Anord's direction.
"What happened?!" Ordo gaped.
"Your Life Points should be gone!" Anord added.
"Doesn't look like it." Fire smirked.
"You trusted my word." Kisara told Fire as she gestured to her activated Trap card that had artwork of her on it, with a Blue-Eyes White Dragon behind her. "I activated the Trap, Kisara's Last Plea! If my LP is 1000 or less, I can Special Summon as many Blue-Eyes monsters from either my hand, Deck, GY, and/or Extra Deck to my field! Ignoring the Summoning Conditions! Meet Blue-Eyes Life Beam Dragon and Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" (Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Level 12 LIGHT Dragon-type Fusion monster, ATK/DEF: 4500/3800. "That doesn't matter!" Ordo pointed out. "Athena's effect still resolves!"
"While that is true, no damage is dealt to me." Kisara grinned. "You see, as long as I control Life Beam Dragon, I don't take any effect damage!"
"Oh no!" Anord gaped.
"Our strategy!" Ordo added. "She bypassed it!"
"No matter how many Fairy monsters are Summoned now, you'll have to aim all of Athena's blasts at my partner." Kisara continued. "But considering her LP is 4700, you'd need to Summon a total of 8 Fairy monsters in order to beat her. Which won't be happening. Because once my turn comes, you're both done." Both Ordo and Anord clenched their hands into fists.
"You… You purposefully allowed yourself to take all that damage….!" Ordo gnashed his teeth. ""Just so you could play that 1 Trap card…..!"
"It's as if she knew our strategy from the start!" Anord added.
She truly is worthy of being a master of Blue Eyes. To be able to work out this outcome. Fire thought.
"Ugh…. Well since I know the Guardian of the Pharaoh is going to attack me, I'll activate this!" Anord revealed. "Go Damage Diet! Now any damage I take this turn will be halved!"
"Spryzan's effect gives him 100 ATK for every Fire Lotus in my GY. Right now only Celtic Maiden resides, so he now has 3100 ATK." Fire replied, smirking. "Which is enough to destroy your Black Luster Soldier Ritual monster! Go Spryzan attack with Burning Requiem!" Spryzan twirled his halberd to have it blaze in flames before flying striking the ritual Soldier in a burning frenzy. Anord tsked as his Ritual monster shattered. (Anord's LP: 4000 - 50 = 3950. "It's only 50 damage. No big deal." Anord remarked.
"Heh. Don't think that is all I'll do." Fire smirked. "I activate the Quick Play Spell, Lotus Explosion! When my Level 8 Fire Lotus monster destroys your Special Summon monster, you take damage equal to their ATK!"

"Then do it." Ordo nodded. "But then again, she isn't much of a threat right now. We can get rid of her at any time. It's the Guardian I'm more worried about. Having 4700 LP to boot."
"In that case, I activate my Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning's effect!" Anord grinned. "I banish that Maiden with the Eyes of Blue!"
"That's fine by me." Kisara remarked as she pocketed the card.
"Oh really? Then how about this? I activate the Ritual Spell, Black Luster Coronation!" Anord announced. "I Tribute my Envoy in order to Ritual Summon the Level 8 Ritual monster, Black Luster Soldier - Midnight Soldier!" Out of the ritual circle came forth a darkened armored version of Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier. (Black Luster Soldier - Midnight Soldier, Level 8 DARK Warrior-type Ritual monster, ATK/DEF: 3000/2500. Ordo's hand: 1 card. Ordo's LP: 6800. Anord's hand: 1 card. Anord's LP: 2450. "Now I activate The First Darklord's effect!" Ordo revealed. "During the Main Phase, I can pay 1000 LP to Special Summon a Darklord monster from my hand or GY in Defense Position. I of course choose Superbia, who revives Ixchel. After that, Athena dishes out 1200 damage to you, Guardian!" Two yellow bolts launched out of Athena's scepter and hit Fire. "But don't think I'm done!" Anord grinned. "Now I play the last card in my hand, the Equip Spell, Twin Swords of Chaos! By equipping this card to either a LIGHT, DARK, or a Black Luster Soldier monster, it gains half of its current ATK to its own. And in case you need it spelled out for you, it can attack twice. And any damage it deals is doubled!" He then frowned. "But at the end of my turn, I must pay 1000 LP or destroy the Equip Spell." He shrugged and thrusted his right hand forward. "Battle! Destroy Life Beam Dragon first!" The dark-armored soldier leapt forward and slashed the dragon in an X formation. It cried out before it shattered.

"Now attack the Guardian's Ritual monster next!" Anord continued. Like before, the dark-armored soldier leapt forward and slashed Fire's monster in an X formation; thus it shattered too.

"It's as I said. I'm going to defeat you both." Kisara remarked.
"How?" Ordo inquired. "You only have 1 monster on your field."
"And that's all I need." Kisara grinned as she waved her right hand, which held a card from out of her hand. "I activate the Equip Spell, Megamorph! This doubles my Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon's ATK since my LP is lower than yours!" Both Anord and Ordo stepped back in shock as Kisara's Neo Ultimate Dragon's ATK doubled to 9000.
"No way…!" Ordo gaped. "One of us finished for sure…..!"
"No! You both are!" Kisara shot back. "If Neo Ultimate is the only monster I control, he can attack up to 3 times per Battle Phase! So long as I send 1 Blue-Eyes Fusion monster from my Extra Deck to the GY to do so!" Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon roared as it prepared to attack. "Battle! Neo Blue-Eyes, attack Indulged Darklord and Midnight Soldier now! Neo Neutron Blast!" The three-headed dragon opened its mouths and launched 2 separate beams at Anord and Ordo's monsters; thus destroying them instantly. Both of them cried out in pain from the attacks. (Anord/Ordo's LP: 1450 - 4500/5800 - 7400 = 0.)
"Good work." Fire replied.
"Thanks." Kisara remarked.
"Congrats…" Ordo began as he stood up slowly.
"You just wasted…...your time….." Anord finished.
"What?" Fire glared.
"By this point, Master Marik should have fully brainwashed that girl we captured from the hospital." Ordo remarked. At this Fire grew wide eyed before snarling darkly.
"Why you…!" She growled.
"What's the matter, Pharaoh's Guardian? Mad you couldn't do your job and protect people?" Anord mocked as his and Ordo's LP box counters began to plummet towards 0.
"Know this Pharaoh's Guardian: No matter what you do, you won't be able to protect everyone. Especially not the Pharaoh from our Master Marik." Ordo added as the glass beneath them shattered and the 2 plummeted down from the top of the building towards the ground floor. Fire and Kisara could hear 2 thumps after about a minute or 2.
"Dammit…!" Fire hissed, clutching her hands tightly, her nails digging in her palms.
"Look." Kisara pointed to the very edge of the shattered glass. 3 locator cards sat at the edge. "The locator cards we need to advance to the quarterfinals." Kisara carefully approached and grabbed the 3. Taking 1 for herself and tossed the other 2 to Fire. "Now we each have 6 locator cards."
"That's the least of my concerns." Fire snapped, taking the cards. "We don't have any idea where Marik is with Shizuka. I let myself fall at their pace in the end…!"
"Well, we have a head start at looking." Kisara remarked, pointing to the tallest building, showing Seto and Yugi's tag team duel against Lumis and Umbra. "Their duel is still going."
"Probably because Seto is being difficult about working with Yami." Fire deadpanned.
"Figures." Kisara groaned. "As much as I would love to go over there and talk common sense into Seto, we don't have time for that. But we also don't have time to look through the whole city for Shizuka. Besides, I bet Honda already alerted Jonouchi of the disappearance, so Jonouchi and Honda are probably also looking for her."
"The problem is we wouldn't know where to look." Fire frowned. "Marik's no doubt now in the City if he truly does have her controlled with the Millennium Rod. But he could be anywhere in the City."
"He's most likely aware that we're looking for him." Kisara spoke. "So looking for Marik directly will be a huge waste of time. Think. Why would he go through the trouble of capturing Shizuka?"
"Yugi and Yami don't know Shizuka personally. The only one of us who is closest to her is Jonouchi. But then that would mean Marik is after him." Fire frowned.
"While that doesn't make sense." Kisara added with a frown. "Jonuouchi doesn't have anything Marik would want."
"...But what if he's using Jonouchi to indirectly hurt Yami." Fire frowned.
"That would mean Marik plans to use Shizuka to duel Jonouchi for that reason alone." Kisara frowned deeply. "And if he plans to get rid of both of them, there's only one place he could do it so no bodies remain." Kisara pointed in the direction of the pier. "That's where he plans to have the duel be, should dueling be his aim. Which it most certainly is if he's going through all this trouble."
"Then that's where we go." Fire frowned. "Let's hurry."
"Right" Kisara nodded, turning on her heel and strided towards the elevator of the building. Fire was about to follow her, but looked down at the 2 below not saying a word before going off to follow Kisara.
