Author's Note:This one I started writing back in February, sorry that it took so long to post the first chapter! Hopefully posting the first chapter will light a fire under me to keep updating it. I told myself that I wouldn't have this many unfinished stories at one time, but clearly, I can't seem to stop myself from starting new ones.

Chapter 1: Secret Admirer

Buffy Summers walked out of her fifth period Biology class, taking a deep breath. It was a good thing that her teacher Dr. Gregory was so cool, she wouldn't be able to handle going to that class every day if he wasn't! She tucked her blonde hair behind her ear before holding her books closer to her chest and looking to the floor as she walked past a group of students to get to her locker. She could hear Spike Pratt's obnoxious laugh, he could have been laughing at her or something his best friend Angelus O'Connor said, which could have also been about her. They didn't like her very much, and it wasn't for any specific reason either. Every school has the popular kids that could do no wrong. Spike, Angelus, Charles Gunn, Cordelia Chase, Harmony Kendall and Spike's sister Darla were those kids.

Buffy quietly opened her locker to put her book inside and get her history book out. It was a class she dreaded because Angelus was in there with her. The teacher had paired them together for class projects multiple times, he was actually pretty smart but when it came to History, she wasn't. She was positive that was something else that the group of friends made fun of her for too. She was sure Angelus told them how badly she struggled in that class. Her mother kept trying to get her a tutor but she refused to study with anyone but her best friend, Willow. Her favorite redhead had a lot on her plate though, she was already tutoring their other best friend, Xander, in math and she recently got her very first boyfriend, Oz. Buffy frowned when she saw a small envelope in her locker that wasn't there earlier. Slowly, picking the envelope up, she turned around to look at everyone in the hallway. She slowly opened the envelope and unfolded the small paper. She frowned even deeper when she read what it said and put it back in the envelope. Looking behind her one more time, she slammed her locker shut and practically ran to the trash can at the end of the hall before throwing the note into the trash and hurrying around the corner.

Spike laughed as he watched the blonde before turning towards his friends. "What was that about?"

"Who knows." Angelus shrugged, as the rest of their friends laughed. "Let's get to class, last thing we need is Snyder on our asses."

"Yeah, right!" Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Like that would ever happen!"

Everyone went their separate ways, except Angelus and Darla. The blonde cheerleader linked her arm with his as they walked towards Mrs. Jackson's History class, even though she wasn't even in that class. "So, the Valentine's Day dance is coming up."

"So I heard." Angelus nodded. He had heard it from her because she was on the dance committee.

"Should we discuss what we are going to wear?" Darla smiled at him. The two had been dating on and off, but mostly, it was off. For some reason, Angelus wasn't acting that into her and it annoyed her. Spike said Angelus liked her! "Pink and white are always good for Valentines Day."

"I don't do white." Angelus shook his head as they approached the classroom, he loosened her grip on his arm and pulled away from her as he entered the classroom. Unfortunately for him, she followed him in. He looked down beside his desk to see Buffy Summers nervously tapping her pencil on her desk.

Darla paused for a moment before she sat down in front of him and turned around to face him. "Okay, so I can wear white and you wear..." She trailed off before she finished her sentence. There was no way Angelus O'Connor was going to wear pink. "What would you suggest then?"

"Black." Buffy said quietly, not even looking at who was beside her. She knew it was Angelus, due to assigned seats, he always sat beside her, which was why they got paired together for projects. "With a red button down…" She trailed off, turning her head slightly to see Angelus looking at her with raised eyebrows and Darla looked annoyed. "Did I say that outloud?" She whispered to herself.

Darla rolled her eyes. "Noone asked you, Bunny!"

"Ms. Pratt." Mrs. Jackson said sternly, getting the cheerleaders attention. "Don't you have a class to get to?"

"Just think about it." Darla whispered to him before turning around and quickly sliding out of the seat to leave the room.

"So, in honor of Valentine's Day, I thought we could take a small break from our normal European History and talk a little about the history of Valentine's Day. Does anyone know how Valentine's Day came about? Um…" The teacher looked around the room, she liked to call on the student that seemed to be paying the least attention. "Buffy?"

"Huh?" The blonde asked, looking up from her pencil. "Oh. Um… Hallmark?"

"It's actually a mystery." Angelus spoke up, causing Buffy to turn to look at him. "Most say the Roman's but there is a fifty-fifty chance that it was Hallmark." He smirked at Buffy.

"Yes, that's correct, Mr. O'Connor." Mrs. Jackson nodded. "So, just for fun, I would like you to pair up and research Valentine's Day. It's just a participation grade today, so have fun with it."

Buffy looked around as everyone was pairing up, she didn't have any friends in this class so whoever was left over would end up being her partner.

"Looks like everyone is going with their usual partners." Angelus leaned towards Buffy.

The blonde looked around the room, to see that Angelus was right. "Oh."

He pushed his desk towards Buffy's before sitting down. "I guess it's you and me."

"Well, in that case." The blonde flipped her notebook open to the first blank page and scribbled something down. "Done."

Angelus looked at her notebook, with a chuckle. "Romans/Hallmark." He nodded. "I guess we can call it a day." He looked around at everyone else in the class that had already pulled out their computers to start searching. "But if we want to flesh it out some. It's actually kind of dark, can you handle dark?"

Buffy shrugged. "My family sacrifices their first born on their 18th birthday, so I only have two more years to live. If I'm gonna live, might as well start now."

Angelus smirked. "Your family might be darker than the Romans. From February 13th to the 15th it's said that the Romans sacrificed a goat and a dog and then whipped the woman with their hides."

"So, instead of getting hit on the women just got hit?" Buffy shook her head, sarcastically. "I must have been born in the wrong time. Talk about romance."

"Romance back then was being drunk and naked." Angelus shrugged.

Buffy nodded slowly. "I guess you were born in the wrong time."

Angelus leaned back in his chair, how did she know what he considered romance? "The woman would line up to be hit because they believed it would make them fertile. Each man would draw a woman's name and they would be paired up until the 15th."

"So, there was no love." Buffy nodded. "Just a bunch of guys looking to get laid. Times haven't changed much."

"It depends how you look at it." Angelus continued. "Some of these men and women that were paired up did fall in love."

"That's not love, that's Stockholm Syndrome." The blonde rolled her eyes.

Angelus shrugged. "Do you have a romantic bone in your body?"

"No." Buffy shook her head. "Maybe they had it right back then, because there weren't any fake promises of love and forever. It was about primal instinct to reproduce."

"Wow, I almost feel bad for the guy that falls for you." Angelus shook his head, throwing himself back against his chair.

The blonde narrowed her eyes at the dark-haired Sophomore. "Gee, thanks."

"I said almost." He tossed his pencil in the air slightly so it landed on his own notebook. "You really think the promise of love and forever is fake?"

"I don't know." She whispered, looking down at her notebook. "How do you feel about Darla this week? Aren't we all just supposed to follow the lead of the school golden couple like a bunch of sheep?"

Angelus ran his hands through his hair, lightly scratching his head. "We aren't even a couple."

"You went to Homecoming and the winter formal together." She pointed out. She didn't even like to admit that she knew that. Once upon a time she did have a slight crush on the tall dark and handsome football player, okay, so maybe that was an understatement. But that was before he started dating Darla. Once the football player and cheerleader got together, she knew that he was only after one thing, because there was only one thing Darla was really known for. It wasn't like she would ever act on her feelings towards him anyway, she was just… her.

"We only went to homecoming together because it was like…" He shrugged. "...expected. The whole football player and cheerleader thing. But we didn't go to the winter formal together, we just ended up together once we were there."

"Same thing." Buffy scowled. Just because they didn't go together didn't mean they weren't there together.

Angelus shook his head again. "No, it's not."

"Oh, and the Sadie Hawkins Dance." Buffy pointed out. At this point she was just trying to think of all the dances they had so far at school, she had yet to go to any of them.

"I didn't go to Sadie Hawkins." He shook his head again. Darla had asked him to go with her, so had several other girls but he turned them all down. "Did you?"

"Why am I even having this conversation with you?" She rolled her eyes.

"You are the one that brought up Darla." He pointed out. "We were talking about our assignment."

Buffy shook her head. "You made it personal."

"Okay, I shouldn't have said that about the guy that falls for you but you said I consider being drunk and naked as romance." He argued quietly, as to not draw attention to them.

"I was being facetious."

Angelus laughed, throwing his head back, causing Buffy to frown. "What?"

Angelus shook his head. "I think I finally figured you out, Summers."

"No, you didn't." She said quickly. "And what do you mean finally?"

Angelus looked up at the ceiling, pointing up with a smile. "Sounds like class is over."

"Angelus!" She called, grabbing her belongings and following him out of the classroom. "How did you figure me…" She trailed off as she saw his friends walking towards them to meet Angelus. She snapped her mouth shut and quickly walked in the other direction.

"What do you mean you found a note in your locker?" Xander Harris asked, shoving a whole Twinkie into his mouth. "What kind of note?"

The blonde shrugged at her male best friend. "A creepy one."

"What did it say?" WIllow asked from beside her on the picnic bench.

"I don't… I don't remember." Buffy threw her hands up in defeat. "Something about ears and eyes."

Xander looked at his two friends confused. Maybe it was a creepy note.

"Where is it now?" Willow asked with raised eyebrows.

The blonde let out a sigh. "I threw it away."

Xander looked at her, expecting her to give them more than that. "Where?"

"The trash can by my locker." She shrugged.

Willow jumped up from the bench, grabbing the blonde and pulling her with her right before Xander jumped up excitedly.

Buffy stood between her two best friends, looking down at the trash can. She glanced at both of her friends. "What are we doing?"

"We are going to find the note." Willow nodded with her resolve face firmly in place.

Buffy shook her head. "I'm not picking through that trash."

Willow raised her eyebrows at her best friend. "You are the one that threw it away before we could see it!"

"I got it!" Xander pushed his sleeves up his arms before reaching into the trash. "I probably should have asked this before I stuck half my body in the trash can but… what does it look like?"

"It's just a white envelope." Buffy shrugged, looking around the hallway to make sure no one else was around. The last thing they needed was for someone to see Xander in a trash can and give Angelus and his friends more ammunition to make fun of them.

"Nothing on it?" Xander asked as he dug around in the trash.

He stood up, making a face when a dirty tissue was stuck to him. Tossing the tissue back into the trash, he looked at the envelope in his hand. "Someone threw away perfectly good jello!"

"Don't you dare, Xander Harris!" Both of the girls scolded him at the same time.

The boy frowned at them as he held out the envelope. "One plain white envelope."

"It doesn't even have a name on it." Buffy pointed out. "It could be for anyone and they just accidentally put it in the wrong locker."

Willow motioned for Xander to open the envelope, which he quickly did. Willow quickly took the paper from Xander. "Each day we cross paths and I see you walk by, I would whisper soft words into your little ear, if only you would let me near, I would tell you about these feelings inside and how tender I feel when I look in your eyes." Willow's mouth dropped open with a smile. "Buffy, you have a secret admirer!"

"No." Buffy shook her head. "What I have is a case of wrong locker."

"Okay, so you found it this morning…" Xander looked down the hallway. "Who was around this morning?"

"Everyone." Buffy said, annoyed. "It was right after fifth period."

Xander nodded, scratching his chin as if he was thinking. "When was the last time you were in your locker before that?"

"Right before fifth period." She raised her eyebrows.

"Unless they were skipping class, then it had to be someone with class in this hall." Xander walked back and forth. "How long after the bell rang did you come out to your locker?"

Buffy shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe a minute… Dr. Gregory told me he was proud of me for how well I did on the last assignment and then I came out.

"Ooookay." Xander nodded before quickly grabbing the paper from Willows hand, and shoving it back into the envelope before he took off running down the hall. "Time me!" He quickly shoved the envelope in the slot in her locker before running back to them, breathing heavy. "How long was that?"

Willow shook her head as she walked over to Buffy's locker, putting in the combination that she knew by heart.

"You could have easily put that in the wrong locker." Buffy reasoned again.

"Except he didn't." Willow commented. "So maybe it's someone that knows you well."

The two girls looked at Xander, unimpressed.

"Don't look at me!" He exclaimed. "It wasn't me!"

"Um, Buffy…" Willow looked from inside the blonde's locker to her best friend. "There's another one in here."

"No, Will. I just put it in there." Xander reminded her.

Willow picked up both envelopes, holding them out for her friends to see. "Wrong locker once would have been possible, but twice and in one day?"

"Yeah, because whoever they think they are giving it to hasn't responded so they tried again." Buffy suggested.

Willow raised her eyebrows at the blonde as she opened the second envelope. "I long for your kiss to touch my lips, the feel of my hands as they rest on your hips, my warm embrace to hold you so close but your hand in my hand is what I desire the most."

"We need to assemble the scooby gang!" Xander exclaimed. "Let's find Oz!"

"He's in the Library." Willow reminded her friend. "We were supposed to meet him there…" She looked at the clock on the hallway wall. "Oh, about now."

0o0o0

Oz looked down at the two papers on the table in the library. "You found them in your locker?"

Buffy nodded at her best friend's boyfriend. "Clearly they were meant for someone else."

"Why do you think that?" The short redheaded boy asked.

The blonde raised her eyebrows at him. "Because I'm me!"

Willow shook her head. "In spite of what you might think, you don't look like some witch with a wart on her nose. You're pretty, Buffy! Way prettier than me!"

"Hey." Oz said softly, taking Willow's hand. "No one is prettier than you."

"Sweet boyfriend." Buffy whispered as she watched the two redheads smile at each other.

"Except me." Xander nodded. "I'm prettier than you, Oz just doesn't want to say it in front of you."

Buffy laughed softly, shaking her head. "No one in this school would have fuzzy feelings about me. Angelus, Darla and the rest of their cronies have made sure of that."

"I thought the same thing!" Willow exclaimed, motioning to her boyfriend. "But then I met Oz!"

Buffy smiled at her best friend. "That's because Oz doesn't care what people think. There isn't anyone else like him here… except maybe Xander. I mean, he basically dumpster dived to get the first note back."

"You're welcome!" Xander exclaimed, throwing his arms in the air.

"Okay, so it's clearly someone you see everyday." Oz nodded, looking from the notes to the blonde. "Or at least walk past."

"This is a high school." Buffy shrugged. "I walk past a lot of people."

"Which is no help because you don't even look up when you walk." Xander pointed out.

Buffy scowled at her long time friend. "I do too. I just look down when I know certain people are around."

"Because of that time Spike tripped you?" Willow asked with a sad face.

"Yeah, because it makes it so much less embarrassing when you see it happening." Buffy sighed, sarcastically. She honestly didn't know what she did to Spike and his friends for them not to like her. The only one she really had any form of communication with was Angelus because of their classes they shared. Maybe that was it, maybe Angelus was telling them to do stuff to her. She really needed to stop talking to him.

"And you know that whole sinking down really low and covering your face with your hair and hands doesn't work." Xander pointed at his blonde friend. "They can still see you."

"You know what, they are jealous!" Willow exclaimed. "Darla, Cordelia, Harmony… they are all jealous because you are WAY prettier than they could ever be! And talented… and and.. And smarter!"

"Hey now!" Xander cut his friend off. "Harmony still has a chance at making a 10 on the SAT's."

"Xan, the lowest grade you can get on the SAT is a 400." Buffy smiled.

"Okay, so clearly you are smarter than I am!" Xander laughed.

Buffy turned to Oz, who was studying the notes before him. "There really isn't much to go on other than they see you every day, unless they send you another note… I mean, we could ask everyone to give us a writing sample but they would think we were even bigger freaks than they already do."

"Why do you keep saying 'they'?" Xander asked Oz.

Buffy looked at her friends and pouted. "Because it could be a girl."

Xander's eyes got large before a smile spread across his face.

"You know what? I'm just assuming that the notes were for someone else." Buffy shrugged. "Until a note comes with my name on it, it's just a mistake." Buffy glanced at the clock over Mr. Giles' office door, pushing herself up from the chair. "I gotta motor, guys. I promised mom I would be home."

Everyone packed up their stuff and followed her out of the library, just as Angelus peaked his head out of the stacks on the second level of the library.

Angelus made his way over to his group of friends behind the bleachers by the football field, his eyes were fixed on Spike as he took a drag from a cigarette and his other arm was wrapped around Harmony. "You tripped Buffy?"

"What?" Spike asked, shaking his head. "Who?"

"Buffy?" Harmony repeated. "Is that the girl that Cordy doesn't like because Kevin called her hot?"

"Please!" Cordelia huffed, rolling her eyes. "I don't even know who that is!"

"Buffy Summers." Angelus repeated. He had never been straight up mean to Buffy before, she didn't deserve it, she definitely didn't deserve to be physically hurt. He did give her attitude at times, but she gave as good as she got when it came to him. "You tripped her."

Spike shook his head, taking another drag from his cigarette. "I don't remember that. Must not have mattered."

"It does." Angelus raised his eyebrows at his friend. "You're a guy, you shouldn't be doing that to a girl."

"So, next time Harm will do it." Spike smiled with his cancer stick between his lips. "Even playing field."

"There is no next time." He gritted his teeth before he walked away from the two blondes. "Smoke another one, see if you will be able to keep up with me on the field."

Buffy walked to her locker the next morning with a playful pout and a little extra pep in her step. She had woken up in a good mood, which her mother said was a sign that something bad was about to happen. Her mother was joking, of course! Hopefully.

Angelus watched Buffy as she walked to her locker, why hadn't he ever noticed that she looked down when she walked? Now, she hadn't noticed him yet and she walked with her head held high, a slight smile formed on her lips. His friends must have really done a number on her, and why didn't he know what it was that they did to her? Did he contribute to it as well?

He watched her open her locker, and just like the day before she looked around the hallway. She opened the envelope that was inside her locker as Spike and Harmony walked down the hallway towards Angelus. Harmony pointed out Buffy and Spike nodded at his latest fling. Angelus glared at his bleach blonde friend before quickly reaching his leg out in front of him, causing his friend to trip in the hallway and almost bring Harmony down with him. Harmony let out a scream, causing Buffy to look behind her, quickly stuffing the envelope in her pocket. She frowned when she saw Spike on the floor, he was just looking up at Angelus. Students started to form around the friends as if they were ready to watch a fight.

"Even playing field." Angelus shrugged, not bothering to move to help his friend up.

The new Computer Science teacher stepped out of her classroom. "Gentlemen." She nodded into her classroom.

Buffy hurried to the library where she knew her friends would be. She had no idea what was going on with Angelus and Spike but she didn't want to know. Those two always seemed to have a rivalry going one, not too long ago they were both arguing about dating Cordelia until Spike suddenly started hanging all over Harmony, Angelus was back with Darla and Cordelia briefly dated Kevin Benedict. She had never seen their rivalry get physical though.

"There's another one!" She called out to them as she placed it on the table where her friends were sitting. She nervously shook her hands out as she started to pace. "And it has my name on it!"

Willow looked at her friend with wide eyes. "What's it say?"

"I don't know!" She exclaimed, she could feel her anxiety taking over her body. How was it possible that someone was writing these notes to her? "I saw that it had my name on it and I freaked! Not to mention Spike somehow ended up on the floor and Harmony was screaming… anyway, I shoved it in my pocket and ran here. I didn't even open it." She bit her lip, looking from the envelope to her three friends. "One of you open it!"

Oz shook his head as he picked up the envelope. "You know, one of these might end up being really personal and we are all going to wish you kept it to yourself."

The blonde playfully glared at him.

Oz gave the blonde a mock annoyed look. "If you could see yourself through my eyes, you would see how special you are." He glanced up at the blonde. "Come see me at the kissing booth during the Winter Carnival."

Buffy creased her eyebrows and frowned. "They want to see me?"

"The Winter Carnival?" Willow asked, looking between her two best friends. "That's today after school."

"It's one of you guys, isn't it?" The blonde looked around the room at her friends. "You guys were the only ones around when I mentioned the name thing. You're messing with me!"

"We weren't the only ones." Oz caught everyone's attention before leaning back in his chair to look past Buffy, his eyes landing on the high school librarian struggling with the computer on the counter.

"Ewww." Buffy cringed before shaking her head.

"Why would they want to meet you already?" Xander plucked the note from the shorter boy's hands. "If it was me, I would drag it out longer." He looked around at his friends looking at him questionably. "What? It's kinda fun getting secret letters."

"You could always do a drive by type thing." Oz suggested. "Swing by the kissing booth later and if it's someone you aren't interested in, keep going."

"Oh! But if it is someone that you're interested in then you should totally give them smoochies!" Willow giggled excitedly.

Oz smiled at his girlfriend. "Isn't she cute?"

Buffy raised her eyebrows, looking unimpressed. "The cutest, but that's going to be a hard pass."

"You aren't going?" Willow's mouth dropped open in shock. "But you have to go! What if it's your soulmate?"

"Willow, we are in the 10th grade, I don't think it's my soulmate." Buffy crossed her arms over her chest. "The smooching is a hard pass, I'm not completely against Oz's drive-by idea."

"Oh." Willow deflated a little but shrugged with a small smile. She wanted Buffy to be as happy as she was with Oz. After all, it was Buffy's encouragement that finally got her to talk to Oz. "Okay."

Buffy was about to go into Mrs. Jackson's History class when she heard her phone go off. Her mother had talked to her several times about putting it on silent while she was at school but then how would she know if she got a text? Reaching into her purse, she pulled out her phone and quickly read the text. Looking back at the classroom where several other students were already sitting in their seats, she looked back down at her phone before walking in the opposite direction.

Angelus watched Buffy as he walked up behind her, she seemed torn, like she didn't know if she should go into the class or not. She looked down at her phone again before walking down the hallway. He entered the classroom and went to his seat, silently watching the door to see if the blonde would come back.

Buffy looked around to make sure no one was watching her as she walked behind the bleachers that were outside. She shook her head when she saw the cigarette butts on the ground, it was where the 'cool' kids went to smoke. Buffy found that stupid, smoking didn't make you cool, it made you stinky. She looked around one more time before ducking under the bleachers, she carefully made her way further under the bleachers. The last thing she needed was to trip under the bleachers and land on all the tiny pebbles of death. She found out the hard way how much it hurt when Darla had pushed her one day when she was trying to sneak under the bleachers. That was the reason she looked around to check her surroundings, she didn't need anyone thinking she was invading their hang out spot. "Faith!" She whispered, walking carefully in her high heels. "Faith, are you in here?"

"Hey, B." The long haired brunette smirked at the blonde.

"Where have you been?" Buffy asked her friend, hugging her. She was more like her secret friend. She didn't think Faith's older brother would appreciate that the two girls were friends. She was nothing like her older brother, Angelus. Faith wasn't popular and she definitely didn't play sports. She mostly kept to herself, except for hanging out with Buffy and on occasion Willow, Xander and Oz.

The brunette beauty shrugged. "With Jack."

"Jack?" Buffy asked, confused for a moment. "Jack O'Toole? Are you kidding me? He's a senior! You're a freshman! And not to mention, he's bad news."

"Yeah, you're telling me!" Faith rolled her eyes, motioning to her face. "He punched me."

"He what?!" Buffy shouted, looking closely at her younger friend's face, unfortunately it wasn't very bright under the bleachers. "I will kill him!"

Faith laughed, swatting Buffy's hand out of her face. "Buffy, there's no way he would even let you touch him."

Buffy let out a sigh. "Faith, there's so many nice guys out there that would love to be with you."

Faith rolled her eyes. "Like who?"

"Well, Xander for one." The blonde offered her a small smile.

"Seriously?" Faith asked, shocked.

Buffy nodded before taking Faith by the hand and leading her out of the bleachers. "You missed your chance to ask someone to Sadie Hawkins BUT who says a girl can't ask a guy out any ol' time?"

"Same." Faith smiled at her friend as they came out from under the bleachers. She hated that Buffy felt like they couldn't be friends out in the open. Buffy didn't want Faith to suffer just because they were friends, the blonde didn't seem to understand that she wasn't afraid of her brother or his friends.

Buffy turned around to look at Faith with raised eyebrows, waiting for her to elaborate.

"Oh, come on!" Faith laughed. "Like there isn't a guy out there that you want to date?"

The blonde simply shook her head, then tilted Faith's head up towards the sunlight to get a better look at the mark that was left on her face. "Isn't he eighteen now? Press charges…"

"I'm not pressing charges." She swatted her hands away from her again. "You mean to tell me that you don't have a crush on my brother anymore?"

"No, he has proven to be an asshole."

Faith laughed, placing her hands on her hips. "Then why do you still talk to him?"

"He's my History partner." She reminded her younger friend.

"You talked to him last year when he wasn't your History partner." Faith pointed out.

Buffy rolled her eyes, more at herself than at Faith. Faith was right, she had talked to Angelus before he was her partner in History class. It wasn't an everyday thing like they were friends but they did have the occasional conversation and a greeting in passing. Once upon a time she had a crush on him, and once upon a time they were civil. She wasn't entirely sure what had changed but she seemed to be the target of his group of friends more and more recently. "And that was one of my many mistakes when it comes to your brother. Now, come on. If you don't want to be the next victim of the Sunnydale High rumor mill then we better cover up that bruise with an unhealthy amount of makeup."

Faith rolled her eyes but allowed Buffy to pull her towards the parking lot where her brother's car was. "Just think, Buffy. You and Angelus could get married and then we would be sisters!"

"I feel like we already are." The blonde looked at her with a teasing smile. "You're a pain in my ass and cause me way too much stress. Besides, some secret… admirer…" she waved her hand around as if it wasn't a big deal. "has been leaving me notes in my locker. As long as it isn't Xander or some axe murderer then there might be potential."

"You just said Xander was a nice guy." Faith watched as the blonde slid into the passenger side of Angelus' black convertible.

Buffy nodded, pulling some makeup out of her purse as Faith jumped into the car. "For you."

Faith smiled as Buffy prepared to apply the makeup over the bruise on her cheek.
