Manami: So this is with Shark's memories. Right?

Aurasoul: Yes which is why he and Rio aren't here for I'd like to live mind you so I don't own Zexal only my OCs but Antares and Sirius belong to Barian-chan, Shane to Shane Kor, Bakura to 0713MM, and Barian-chan and I share Lyra and also a shout out to MM for helping me with my work so now enjoy the show!

Chapter 23

Shark walked looking around the buildings when he heard crying he turned and gasped seeing a little girl crying who looked hauntingly familiar. "R-Rio"? He said shocked.

The girl stopped her crying for a moment to look up at the shocked eyes of Shark.

The fire burned in the campsite Shark looking at the girl as she sat by herself he felt a hand on his shoulder he looked seeing Manami holding a bowl of soup with a small smile motioning to the girl he nodded as they walked to the girl making her look up at them. "Here you are", Manami said gently, handing the bowl to the girl.

"Huh"? The girl said surprised.

"You need to eat." Shark said with a smile, as he and Manami kneeled next to her.

"What's your name"?

The girl took the bowl looking at them before answering.

"Iris".

Shooting stars flew from the sky as Shark looked at Manami and Iris who were both sleeping soundly. "Rio were you the one who drew me to this girl? Or are you"? He wondered, looking above.

The next day Shark rode off with his army Iris on his horse clutching his cape as he looked at her. "Whatever the case, I"... He thought, as he looked onward.

Arrows flew forward as Vector rode with his army following. "GO"! He yelled.

The armies fought and clashed with one another Shark slashing away his enemies. "Vector"! He yelled.

"Nasch"! Vector growled, as he rode off.

The war went on as it savaged the land leaving many casualties on both sides now as the sun began to set Shark stood in front of his makeshift throne with Manami, Durbe, and few of his soldiers with him in the tent of their campsite. "Vector has assembled his army just over this valley it is now we must mount the final battle against him"! One of the soldiers said.

"Our great king and queen we shall abide by any decision you make"! Another soldier spoke up.

"We place our lives in your hands, our majesties", another spoke.

"The same goes for me"!

"Me as well"!

"We understand", Shark said, glancing at Manami who nodded.

"Wait for my signal before launching an all out attack".

"Sir"!

The soldiers left as Shark sat arms crossed with Durbe and Manami still at his side. "Are you doubting yourself"? Durbe asked.

"Vector must be defeated at all costs but if we fight now there will be countless sacrifices on our side".

Shark didn't answer only closed his eyes. "Please leave me", he spoke.

Durbe left the tent as Shark opened his eyes to see Manami kneeling next to him worried. "Do you feel unwell?'' she asked gently, touching his hand.

He gave a small smile as he gently patted her hand. "Don't worry, I'm fine, what about you? You seem tired." He frowned.

"Don't worry I'll be fine." She said with a gentle smile.

She stood up to rest her forehead on his. "Right now you must focus on our people so we can return home." She said.

"And remember you have all of us by your side our friends, Durbe, and me we will stand by you always".

She smiled kissing him gently before leaving the tent as he watched her go.

Shark sat at the edge of the lake the night sky above him as the fireflies flew around him. "By fighting, my comrades will"... He began to think.

"No the entire world will get dragged into our fight and suffer great injury I"...

'Ryoga'.

Shark looked to see Rio's spirit in front of him floating above the water. "Rio", he said.

'This is our other past, Ryoga', Rio said to him.

"I know." He said.

'In this world, I have become a guardian spirit protecting my dear brother', Rio said.

'Yes… I've been watching this entire time along with you your life, I mean, Nii-sama. That is why I know, I know when you are in doubt'.

"Rio… What am I supposed to do"? Shark questioned desperately.

'Even when making decisions you're always so kind but you're always suffering', Rio said sadly.

"Hatred gives birth to more hatred and if you let that hatred live out your life it will only bring despair", Shark said.

"Two people had taught me that".

"You mean Yuma and Darka right'? Rio asked with a smile.

Shark smiled for a moment holding his pendant before he grew serious. "But… What's happening here is definitely part of my memories"! He said.

Iris was looking around for Shark with Manami at her side as Shark went on. "Durbe's right we've lived two different lives", he said, as the two walked to him.

'It just means you're a special chosen person, Nii-sama', Rio said.

Shark turned his head seeing Iris walking to him flowers in her hands and for a moment he saw a younger Rio before seeing Iris once more as Manami followed her. 'You're someone who will determine the fate of this world Nii-sama and you're staring right into that destiny right now', Rio told him.

'I am always by your side, Nii-sama'.

Rio disappeared as Shark picked up Iris with a smile with Manami at his side as Iris placed a flower in his hair making the two giggle as he chuckled. But Rio if this is my destiny. He thought, as he looked up at the sky with a serious expression.

I'll… Fight against it in my own way.

It was dawn when Shark kneeled next to a sleeping Iris and Manami he looked at Manami reaching to gently stroke her cheek. These memories are not only mine though their her's as well which means that Manami is... He thought with a deep frown.

He laid his forehead on her temple before he left the tent and soon he was on his horse Abyss Splash behind him as he galloped off. "Here I come Vector"! He yelled.

"What?! You can't find Nasch anywhere"?! Durbe said shocked, as Manami gasped.

"Sir! We can't find the king anywhere"! The soldier said.

"Durbe you don't think Nasch", Manami began horrified.

"Don't tell me he went to challenge Vector alone"! Durbe frowned.

Iris, overhearing this from outside the tent, gasped and quickly ran off.

Shark slashed down the soldiers that were in his way as Abyss Splash destroyed the summoned monsters surrounding them Shark then saw a familiar ruins as he galloped. That's the labyrinth where I fought against Abyss. He thought.

He went within the labyrinth stopping his horse. "To think the two of us had such a history,'' he frowned.

"Vector! There's no reason to drag so many innocent people into this fight! The two of are going to have a decisive match to settle this"!

"Sounds fun"!

Shark gasped hearing Vector's voice as the walls began to move. "I guess I'll accept your little challenge"! Vector spoke.

The walls of the labyrinth moved to form a path for Shark as he led his horse down the path before reaching an entrance he got off and walked down the steps down a torch lit hall to reach the bottom where Vector awaited. "Welcome Nasch"! Vector smirked.

"Vector", Shark frowned.

"I can't believe you'd show up here and all by yourself"! Vector crackled.

"You lousy"! Shark growled.

"Now then since you gave me your proposal it's only fair that I decide the method of our showdown"! Vector smirked.

"What"?! Shark demanded.

"Our match will be a Dark Game with our Duel Monsters"! Vector yelled.

As he spoke stone slates fell from above in front of the two. "Duel Monsters"? Shark said shocked.

"I see… So these stone slates are the cards right? I'll make you regret challenging me to a duel"!

"Hehehe here I come"! Vector smirked.

"Duel"!

"The first turn'st mine! My turn draw"! Vector yelled, a stone slate falling from above.

"I summon Gorgonic Ghoul"!

One stone slate fell as it glowed and the monster appeared.

Gorgonic Ghoul

Atk Points: 100

Def Points: 100

"I then special summon another Gorgonic Ghoul! When I have a Gorgonic Ghoul on the field, this monster can be special summoned by paying 300 of my life"! Vector smirked, as the second Gorgonic Ghoul appeared.

Vector's LPs: 4000 - 3700

"I'll special summon a third Gorgonic Ghoul"! Vector said, as a third Gorgonic Ghoul appeared.

Vector's LPs: 3700 - 3400

"Then I activate a magic card! Molting Away from the Status Quo"! Vector yelled.

"When I have three monsters of the same level in play, I can look at my opponent's deck and special summon a monster of the same level"!

The stone slate flowed as it showed Vector, Shark's deck. "From my deck"?! Shark said shocked.

"And the one I choose is… This one! I special summon Mermaid Shark onto my field"! Vector yelled.

The mermaid like shark monster appeared in a splash.

Iris continued to run to the battlefield hoping to head to where Shark was. Your Majesty! Your Majesty! She thought frantically, as she ran. Please! For her majesty, for them! Please!

As she ran Shark's soldiers galloped to battle.

"I set two stone slates and end my turn", Vector finished.

"You may think you gathered a ton of monsters instantly but I'm gonna wipe them all out in one blow"! Shark yelled.

"My turn draw! I summon Spear Shark"!

Spear Shark appeared out from water with a growl.

"Then I special summon Silent Angler"! Shark yelled, as the second water monster appeared.

Silent Angler

Atk Points: 800

Def Points: 1400

"Silent Angler can be special summoned when I control a water attribute monster on my field", Shark said.

"And then I special summon another Silent Angler".

The second Silent Angler appeared onto the field. "Go Spear Shark"! Shark yelled, as Spear Shark readied to attack one of the Gorgonic Ghouls.

"You fell for it"! Vector yelled with a smirk.

"I activate the continuous trap, Gorgonic Temptation! When I have a Gorgonic monster in play, I can change the opponent's battle target once per turn! I'll change the attack target to Mermaid Shark"!

"There's not even a point to using that trap"! Shark yelled.

"Spear Shark has the higher attack points"!

But Vector only chuckled darkly looking at Shark. "You just don't get what a Duel of Darkness means do you"?! He smirked.

"What"?! Shark gasped.

"Why don't you take a look at this"?! Vector smirked.

The monument above Vector glowed brightly blinding Shark for a moment but once he could see he gasped in horror seeing his army fighting. "We shall save the king! All troops, advance"! Durbe yelled.

The soldiers yelled in agreement as they clashed with Vector's army. "This can't be! An all out war has begun"?! Shark said shocked.

"I thought I told you before! That this a Dark Game, I mean"! Vector smirked.

"Right now the two of us are Gods! And this duel will decide their fate! And the one who pulled the trigger was you"!

Spear Shark pierced Mermaid Shark in explosion Vector shielding himself from the shockwave of the attack.

Vector's LPs: 3400 - 1900

But Vector only chuckled. "But the pain I feel comes nowhere close to the pain you feel in your heart"! Vector smirked.

"You bastard"! Shark yelled furiously.

"Why are you dragging other innocent people into our fight"?!

"Aint that obvious"? Vector asked.

"Because that's your weakness of course! All that kindness and justice dwelling inside your heart, I mean! I want nothing more than to see you bowing your head as you writhe in agony! Hahahaha"!

Vector laughed maniacally as Shark growled in fury. "Vector"! He yelled.

"My trap activates at this moment! Conspiratorial Catastrophe"! Vector yelled, as the cyclone was blown.

"Since the monster I stole from you battled and because I took more than 1000 points of damage all stone slates you control with attack power higher than the destroyed monster will be destroyed"!

"What"?! Shark yelled shocked, as the cyclone destroyed all his monsters along with the stone slates from above as the pieces fell down.

"All the… Monsters in my deck"?

In the battleground a monster launched a burning blast at Shark's soldiers as they all screamed as others were attacked screaming in anguish Shark hearing this in horror. "I set one stone slate facedown! I end my turn", he said.

"Now's where the real show begins my turn draw"! Vector smirked.

"I summon Gorgonic Cerberus"!

The cerberus gorgon monster appeared onto the field with a growl.

Gorgonic Cerberus

Level: 3

Atk Points: 1300

Def Points: 300

"Then I activate Gorgonic Cerberus' effect"! Vector smirked.

"When Gorgonic Cerberus is successfully summoned it raises the level of all other monsters I control to three"!

Gorgonic Ghoul

Level: 1 - 3

"I Overlay the level three Gorgonic Cerberus and Ghoul"! Vector yelled, as the two monsters became purple mist and going to the Overlay Network.

"I use these two monsters to build the Overlay Network! Xyz symmon! Show yourself Gorgonic Guardian"!

The Gorgonic Xyz monster appeared with a moaning cry.

"I'll then Overlay the remaining two Gorgonic Ghouls"! Vector yelled, as the other Ghouls went to the Overlay Network.

"Xyz summon! Show yourself my second Gorgonic Guardian"!

And the second Gorgonic Guardian appeared also with a moaning cry. "We'll take our time tormenting you"! Vector smirked.

"Gorgonic Guardian attacks you directly"!

Gorgonic Guardian rushed forward swinging its tail to hit Shark. "AUGH"! Shark cried out.

Shark's LPs: 4000 - 2400

In the battleground his soldiers were caught in an explosion as Vector crackled. "Have another blow"! Vector yelled, as his second Gorgonic Guardian attacked Shark.

"AHHH"! Shark yelled in pain.

Shark's LPs: 2400 - 800

Vector's army began to fire arrows as Iris ran in the battleground when she gasped seeing the arrows heading toward her.

Shark landed on the steps with a crash wincing while Vector chuckled. "Now you and your entire army are about finished"! He smirked with a laugh.

"Not yet"!

Vector stopped laughing before looking at Shark with a frown Shark kneeled up using his sword as leverage. "Even if my body is destroyed, my soul given by the Gods shall be revive"! Shark yelled, as green light glowed.

"My turn draw! I activate the effect of the Gazer Shark from my graveyard! When this monster is in my graveyard it can be used as Xyz material"!

Two Gazer Sharks swam out of the graveyard to glow in a blue mist.

"I Overlay my two Gazer Shark"! Shark yelled, as the mists went in the Overlay Network.

"Absurd! AN Xyz summon from the graveyard"?! Vector yelled shocked.

"I'll use these two monsters to build the Overlay Network"! Shark yelled.

"Show yourself Number 73! The God descends! Abyss Splash the Roaring Waterfall Deity"!

Abyss Splash appeared on the field from a torrent of water.

"You called God in this situation"?! Vector gaped.

"I activate Abyss Splash's effect"! Shark said.

"By using one Overlay Unit his attack power doubles during battle"!

Number 73: Abyss Splash the Roaring Waterfall Deity

"Go! Abyss Splash"! Shark yelled.

Abyss Splash stepped ready to attack Vector lowly growled. "I activate Gorgonic Guardian's effect! By using one Overlay Unit, the effects of all monsters on the field are negated and their attack points drop to 0"! He yelled.

"You won't get away"! Shark yelled.

"I activate the trap Overlay Wedge! When an Xyz monster uses an Overlay Unit and its effect activates its effect is negated"!

The stone slate launched blue arrows at the Gorgonic Guardians. "Then all Xyz monsters on the field this turn other than the one with the highest rank can't use Overlay Units to activate their effects"! Shark yelled, as the Guardians' Overlay Units becoming stone and dropping to the floor.

"What"?! Vector yelled shocked.

"You lose Vector"! Shark yelled.

"Go, Abyss Splash! Attack Gorgonic Guardian! Final Fall"!

Abyss Splash launched the beam destroying Gorgonic Guardian in a large explosion sending Vector flying. "But the fate you bare will be burned forever in your eyes! AHHH"! Vector yelled.

Vector's LPs: 1900 - 0

The monument fell from the explosion as the smoke cleared to show Vector gone having escaped. "Vector… Is it over"? Shark frowned.

He then sighed as he walked back up the steps but upon what he saw made Shakr gasp in horror to see his soldiers all perished in the battle. "This is"... He began shocked.

He walked looking across the battlefield in shock but then he saw Iris's body and gasped in horror. "Iris… Iris"! He yelled, running to her.

He kneeled down tearfully picking her up. "I couldn't… Protect you from this", he said, moving her hair to the side as tears began to form.

"No, that's not true! I… Stole it from all of you! The lives of my soldiers, my comrades, and my friends".

Shark screamed in agony as light shined from the sky on the fallen soldiers and Iris causing them to glow in red sparkles floating above as Shark watched.

"All their souls went… To Barian World".

The transparent forms of Durbe and Rio stood next to Shark as he looked above. "Rio… Durbe… That's right… I remember now", Shark spoke.

"This is my true life".

"I also remembered", Rio said with a sad look.

"My true memories"...

"I understand now", Durbe said.

"So thats why you were reborn as the leader of the Barians the Barian World was originally very small, but due to all the souls involved in the battle between you and Vector, it grew in size".

"I… Went to Barian World"? Shark said, before thinking.

Then Manami...

"Ryoga", Rio spoke, kneeling next to him.

Shark looked at Rio tearfully as he looked up. "I'm… A Barian"! He said.

"Can such ironic fate exist?! Yuma… Astral… Darka… Astrana… Kaito… The true enemy they've been fighting against… For me to be one of them"!

(New Orders 13 Etheric Amon, type: Fairy/Xyz, attribute; LIGHT, ATK/DEF: 5000/4000. Xyz Materials: 1.)

"Rank 13?!" Astral gasped.

"Impossible….!" Astrana gaped, stunned by its appearance. Eliphas thrusted his right hand forward.

"Upon this card being Summoned, I can target 1 Xyz monster on the field, then the top cards of that players deck become this card's overlay units." Eliphas explained.

"Furthermore, any Xyz monster Summoned from now on shall give my Amon more overlays equal to the difference in our monsters Ranks. So to start with, I choose Astrana's Number C38: White Rose Enchantress! And because I have, the top 8 cards of her deck become Amon's overlay units!"

Lightning flashed above them, then flew down and struck Astrana's deck Kaito glanced over and watched in surprise as the top 8 cards of Astrana's deck flew towards the Rank 13 Xyz monster. "Oh no! Astrana your deck!" Kaito called out to her.

"Lastly, all the cards that Amon absorbed as Xyz material give it an additional 100 ATK. Since it now has 9 Xyz Materials, it gains 900 ATK." Eliphas said.

(Etheric Amon's ATK: 5000 + 900 = 5900.)

"5900 attack points." Astrana frowned, Eliphas smirked.

"That's right." Eliphas told her.

"Now, time to finish you both off! Etheric Amon, attack Number C38: White Rose Enchantress!"

Aurasoul: And it is done! And soon will you guys being in Astral World!

Manami: This is why you made that Christmas one-shot with Shark and Rio, isn't it.
