"Number 1?!" IV gaped, shocked.
"No way!" Yuma gaped.
"In case you impudent whelps weren't aware, this is the strongest Number of them all." Heartland informed them with a devious smile, then thrusted his right hand forward. "Observe you twits! I activate Number 1's effect! Now I can target 1 monster in your Extra Deck and send it to your respective graveyard!"
"Sending a card from the Extra Deck to the graveyard?!" Hotaru gaped, shocked.
"Correct!" Heartland smirked. "And the person I choose is for this effect is…." Heartland's right index finger wavered between Kaito and Darka. It eventually stopped on Kaito. "You Kaito!"
"What? Why me?" Kaito asked. Heartland chuckled.
"Well you have Number 2: Ninja Shadow Mosquito in your Extra Deck...do you not?"
"I do." Kaito retorted. "But why choose that one?" Heartland's cackling did not stop.
"Why? Why so I can make you feel the pain Kaito!" Heartland replied. Upon Number 2: Ninja Shadow Mosquito leaving Kaito's Extra Deck and being sent to his graveyard, a dark aura emanated from Kaito's Extra Deck and spread to him; making him gasp before crying out in pain.
"AAAHHHH!" He yelled.
"Kaito!" Darka gasped. Heartland laughed upon seeing the dark arua zapping Kaito.
"Oh don't worry Darka, you'll soon follow in that painful endeavor." Heartland sneered.
"Why you!" Darka snarled, as Kaito fell onto his knees from the pain, but managed to get back on his feet.
"Kaito are you ok?!" Kaito brushed the remaining bolts of dark energy off of his body. He turned to face Darka. His lips formed a strained smile.
"I'm fine." Kaito told her. He grunted a bit, then the pained expression on his face vanished. Upon that happening, his facial expression turned into determination. He glared back at Heartland. "That the best you got sleazeball?!"
"You're talking tough now but I'll have you both in agony!" Heartland smirked. "I place a card facedown and end my turn." (Heartland's hand: 1 card.)
"Nasch! Merag"! Vector said shocked, before thinking. Impossible! These guys are actually alive? Back then those two should've already been dead!
"What's wrong Vector"? Durbe questioned.
"N-nothing", Vector quickly said.
Durbe looked at Vector before looking up. "They were on Earth as the human forms known as Ryoga and Rio Kamishiro." He said.
"What?! Ryoga and Rio"?! Vector said shocked.
"That's right", Durbe said. "They had lost their memories as Barians, living their lives as humans".
This situation's really for the worst. Vector thought grimly.
Do they remember what happened back then? That I lured the both of them into a trap?
"Don't lose your cool".
Vector gasped seeing Don Thousand in his shadow. Don Thousand! He thought.
"There is no thirst for blood coming from them", Don Thousand told him.
So that means their memories haven't fully resurfaced, huh? Vector thought.
Vector gasped quickly looking up at Nasch who had spoke. "I understand you feel doubt toward me." Nasch said.
"It's true that Merag and I were once your enemies in the Human World but now we have both awaken as Barians. In order to protect this world, the time has come for us to combine our strength which is why we must also get her back as well".
"Her"? Vector questioned.
"We had also come to learn that originally there were meant to be eight Barian Emperors not seven." Durbe spoke.
"E-eight"?! Vector said shocked.
"She was meant to have reborn here in Barian World but for unknown reasons she was instead reborn on the Human World." Durbe told him.
"So they even learned of the eighth one have they"? Don Thousand remarked in Vector's mind, as Durbe went on.
"But luckily we know who she is you should know who she is as well Vector." Durbe said.
"I do"? Vector said with a glare.
Suddenly Vector gasped in shock and realization. "No it can't be her"! He said shocked.
Vector then lowly grunted. "Though if this so called Eighth Barian Emperor really is her. Do you honestly think she'll join us so easily"? He demanded.
"She will come to our side Vector do not doubt us on this." Merag spoke coldly.
"Vector." Nasch spoke, as glowing cards appeared in front of him. "If this bothers you, still and you still hold distrust then if you see a hint of my betrayal toward you kill me when my back is turned"!
"Nasch"! Vector muttered.
"Mine, her's, and Merag's our fates lie with the Barians"! Nasch spoke, as the cards went within him in a glow.
Vector was silent before he spoke. "I understand." He conceded.
"By the way Vector." Durbe said, as a crystal was lowered next to Vector to show the pillar of light on Earth.
"Is this your doing"?
"Wh-what are you talking about"?! Vector questioned, slightly nervous.
"The Barian World has started to fuse with the Human World I can't think of anyone other than Don Thousand's power being able to pull off something like this." Durbe said. "Someone has revived his power".
"I got no clue"! Vector yelled. "Oh yeah! Maybe it's that fly bastard's doing"?
"You mean Heartland"? Durbe questioned.
"But this is the perfect opportunity"! Vector said. "Yuma, Darka, Astral, and Astrana aren't there right now let's go to Earth and"-
"Vector".
Vector quickly looked up at Nasch as he spoke. "You take those four too lightly especially Darka." He said.
"What"?! Vector questioned with a glare.
"The four of them will return that's just how they are".
Nasch then began to glow brightly. "Now let me grant you all power! Power in order to fight them"! He said.
"Now let us go"!
"Then it's my turn! I draw!" Darka yelled. (Darka's hand: 6 cards. Kaito's hand: 5 cards.)
"Darka we have to bring it full throttle if we are to beat Number 1." Astrana frowned.
"I got you covered." Darka smirked. "I summon Shadowheart Warrior in attack mode!"
And the warrior Shadowheart monster appeared wielding his sword.

"Next is Shadowheart Warrior's effect! When he's been Normal Summoned I can special summon a Shadowheart monster from my deck!" Darka explained. "I special summon Shadowheart Ghoul!"Appearing next to her warrior was a young man with stark gray hair, pale skin, piercing red eyes, and wearing a cloak of black.

"Shadowheart Ghoul's effect! When he's special summoned he deals 500 points of damage to you." Darka smirked.
"What?!" Heartland questioned shocked. Her Ghoul rushed toward Heartland before biting his shoulder making him cry out as it looked as if the Ghoul bit a piece of Heartland's shoulder off and swallowed before jumping back to Darka's side with a disgusted look.
Heartland's LPs: 7000 - 6500
"Not to your liking?" Darka asked her monster amused.
"Tsk tsk….. That was only a minor setback…" Heartland growled. "I activate Ixchel's effect! Now by paying 1000 LP, I can target my Sanctified Darklord, then I target 1 monster on the field, I negate its effects, but I gain LP equal to its ATK!" (Heartland's LP: 6500 - 1000 = 5500.)
"Hmph. Don't think so! I activate the effect of Shadowheart Trickster from my hand! By discarding him to the Graveyard your monster's effect is negated and cannot activate it until the next Standby Phase!" Darka smirked.
"So what? Once your turn is over, it'll be Kaito's turn, and Ixchel's effect will be restored!" Heartland told her. Darka only smirked as she raised her hand.
"I Overlay my level four Warrior and Ghoul!" She yelled, as the two monsters became purple mists going in the Overlay Network. "With these two monsters I build the Overlay Network! Xyz summon! Bloom Number 38! Allow this enchantress to be free and spread her wonder of magic! Rose Enchantress!" And the petal wind blew as Rose Enchantress appeared on the field.

"I then place two cards facedown and end my turn." Darka finished. (Darka's hand 1 card.)
"With that Darka managed to summon Rose Enchantress and set up some facedowns." Koru remarked.
"Let's hope those facedowns help." Sirius frowned. Kaito placed his right hand on top of his deck.
"I don't know why you sent that Number from my Extra Deck to my Graveyard, but it makes no difference!" Kaito declared.
"Oh really Kaito?" Heartland mused. Kaito rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Yes I'm sure you sleazeball!" Kaito snapped. "I draw!" (Kaito's hand: 6 cards.) Kaito observed his 6 card hand and he grinned. Heartland took notice of this and gave a quizzical look.
"What are you smiling about?" Heartland questioned Kaito.
"The fact that I'm about to get my Dragon out this turn and deal you damage." Kaito retorted. Heartland scoffed at that.
"Oh really?" Heartland chuckled. "I can understand you getting your Dragon out this turn, but damaging me in the same turn? Ha! As if Kaito!"
"Is that a challenge?" Kaito retorted back. "Well if so, allow me to show you! Since I control no monsters, I can Special Summon Photon Thrasher from my hand!"
The white and blue armored warrior appeared on the field. (Photon Thrasher, Level 4 Warrior-type, ATK/DEF: 2100/0.) Kaito then grabbed another card from his hand.
"Now since there's a Photon monster on the field, I can Special Summon Photon Advancer from my hand!" Kaito declared.
"Oh?" Heartland questioned as he watched the light armored warrior appeared on Kaito's field. (Photon Advancer, Level 4 Warrior-type monster, ATK/DEF: 2000 (originally 1000)/1000.)
"Kaito has 2 monster with the same level and with over 2000 ATK." Yuma noted. "I think I know what he's going to do next."
"Go for it Kaito." Darka smiled. Kaito smirked, then raised his right arm up.
"I overlay my Level 4 Photon Thrasher and Photon Advancer!" The 2 monsters turned into yellow streams of energy and flew upwards. An Overlay Network portal appeared in the middle of Kaito's field.
"Ehhh?!" Yuma gaped. "An Xyz Summon instead of tributing his 2 monsters for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon?!"
"It's the strategy he used on Eliphas." Astral said.
"Then the monster he's summoning!" Yuma said in realization. The 2 yellowed went into the Overlay Network; thus it exploded in bright colors. Kaito holds a Rank 4 Xyz monster above his head in his right arm.
"I Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Starliege Lord Galaxion!" Kaito declared. And with that, the armored warrior appeared onto the field, 2 overlay units swirled around him. (Starliege Lord Galaxion, Rank 4 Warrior-type Xyz monster, ATK/DEF: 2000/2100. Xyz Materials: 2. Kaito's hand: 4 cards. Darka/Heartland's hand: 1 card.)
"And now for it's effect." Hotaru smirked.
"That's right Hotaru!" Kaito announced. "By using both of my Starliege Lord Galaxion's Xyz Materials, I can Special Summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon from my Deck!" Heartland's eyes twitched at that.
"That dragon…" Heartland growled as Kaito threw the Photon Dragon's tailpiece into a portal above the field.
"Here comes the monster more savage than a supernova! With a cataclysmic force of ten black holes put together! A cosmic scourge that vaporizes anything in its path: Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!" The portal exploded and brought for the galactic dragon. Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon roared at Heartland his Fake Number. (Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, Level 8 Dragon-type monster, ATK/DEF: 3000/2500.) Yuma and the others cheered on the sidelines.
"Alright Kaito!" Yuma grinned. "Now give Heartland an ass kicking!" Heartland scowled in response to Yuma's remark.
"As impressive as Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is, it cannot get past both my monsters." Heartland retorted.
"I wonder about that." Kaito smirked.
"Oh?" Heartland questioned. "Well just in case you have any funny ideas to get past my defenses, I activate Darklord Ixchel's effect again! I pay 1000 LP to activate The Sanctified Darklord trap card in my Graveyard!" Darklord Ixchel began to glow a dark black as a ghostly form The Sanctified Darklord appeared behind her. (Heartland's LP: 5500 - 1000 = 4500.) Heartland grinned between Darka and Kaito. "Go ahead and try to stop me, this time if you dare! I will recover my LP no matter what! So Galaxy-Eyes, say goodbye to your effects and give me that 3000 LP boost! Haha!" Kaito grit his teeth as the trap fired a beam at his dragon.
"Sorry, but that won't be happening!" Darka spoke with a smirk.
"What?" Heartland asked.
"Trap activate! Curse of Thorns!" Darka yelled. Rose Enchantress twirled her scepter before slamming it down. At once, thorn vines erupted from the ground; stopping the beam while piercing Ixchel's body at the same time. Heartland clenched his fists.
"What the hell did you just do?!" Heartland snarled. Kaito rolled his eyes.
"Oh my god, is your brain so small and its equivalent to that of a fly's?" Kaito retorted. He chuckles. "Oh wait, yes it is."
"Why you!" Heartland growled at Kaito.
"Allow me to elaborate Heartland." Darka smirked. "Curse of Thorns is a trap card that can only be activated when I have a monster with Rose in its name. With this, your monster's effect is negated as long as Rose Enchantress is on the field. Not only that, but you are unable to activate any spells and traps from your graveyard as well."
"Damn you!" Heartland snarled in anger. Darka chuckled. "Come now Heartland. You know the old saying. A rose is beautiful at sight, but cruel to the touch." She said with a dark smirk. Heartland's eyes twitched violently.
"You'll pay for that!" Heartland snapped at Darka. "This I promise!"
"Thing is pee brain, it's still my turn." Kaito reminded Heartland coldly.
"Give him hell Kaito." Darka smiled. Kaito glanced at his girlfriend and chuckled.
"Of course I will Darka." Kaito told her before turning back to face Heartland and his gaze hardened. "Alright listen up Heartland. You will lose this duel. Whether you like it or not."
"Oh really?" Heartland asked smugly.
"Yes." Kaito replied. "And I'll prove it!"
"Hmph! Try me!"
"As you wish!" Kaito grinned. Kaito thrusted his right hand forward. "Battle!" Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, attack Number 1! Photon Stream of Destruction!" Galaxy-Eyes reeled her head back, then fired out a cosmic stream of energy at Heartland's monster. Heartland began to chuckle.
"What's the point Kaito? Only a Number can destroy another Number!" Heartland pointed out.
"Have you forgotten Galaxy Eyes' effect?" Astrana smirked. Heartland tsked in annoyance. Kaito smirked.
"Astrana is correct!" Kaito retorted. "Now both Galaxy-Eyes and Number 1 are banished!" Both monsters vanished from the field. As quickly as they left, they both returned. "After the battle phase ends, both our monsters return to the field. And if the monster Galaxy-Eyes banished is an Xyz monster, she gains 500 ATK for each Xyz Material your monster lost! Since your Number lost 3 Materials, Galaxy-Eyes gains 1500 ATK!" Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon roared as all the phantom forms of the 3 Xyz Materials flew into Galaxy-Eyes.
"No!" Heartland cried out. "My plans! They're ruined! Ruined you see?!" Kaito smirked and grabbed 2 cards from his hand.
"I place 2 cards facedown and end my turn." Kaito finished. "(Heartland/Darka's hand: 1 card. Kaito's hand; 2 cards.) "Go ahead bug brain. Not like your next move will matter too much." Heartland just scowled in response.
"We shall see Kaito." Heartland retorted as he placed his hand on top of his deck. "Draw!" (Heartland's hand: 2 cards.) Heartland pulled the card he drew and revealed it to his 2 opponents.
"Consider yourselves lucky that I drew this." Heartland spoke venomously. "I activate Card of Sanctity! Now all 3 of us draw until we hold 6 cards in our hands!" All 3 of them drew their cards.
"To allow us to draw as well." Darka began.
"He's obviously up to something." Astrana finished with a frown.
"Well you'd be right Astrana." Heartland sneered as he pulled a card from his hand revealed it before placing it onto his duel disk. "I Summon this! Appear! Darklord Noble!" A noble dressed female appeared onto the field in between Number 1 and Darklord Ixchel. (Darklord Noble, Level 4 DARK Fairy-type monster/Dark Tuner, ATK/DEF: 1700/1600. Heartland's hand: 5 cards.)
"What?!" Astrana gasped.
"Dark Tuner?!" Darka yelled, shocked.
"The hell?!" Kaito gaped. "Answer me this Heartland! How did you get a power like that?!" Heartland just began to laugh.
"Since you're most likely not going to survive this duel, I suppose telling you who gave me this power wouldn't hurt. Lord Vector gave me this power! Hahaha!"
"Along with giving you that fake Number?" Darka asked darkly. Astrana and Kaito looked at Darka shocked to see the dark angered look in her eyes as she glared at Heartland. Heartland just chuckled at that.
"Fake? Not sure what you're talking about, but yes, Vector did give me this Number." Heartland replied.
"Heartland, by using that power, you have only gained yourself a trip to your personal hell." Darka said darkly.
"Ha! So what?" Heartland retorted. "All that matters is Lord Vector's plan succeeding! And I will ensure that it happens!
"Hmph… You have no idea who you're working with, do you?" Kaito questioned.
"Vector is only using you Heartland. To him, you are just a puppet he can throw away at any time." Astrana told him. Heartland just smirked.
"I don't care." Heartland retorted. "Now back to the duel at hand! I activate my Dark Tuner's effect! By paying 1000 LP, I can increase this card's Level to 12, then another Darklord monster's Level on the field becomes Level 4."
"Ehh?!" Yuma gaped. "But that means-!"
"His Dark Tuner and Ixchel will be Levels 12 and 4." Astral finished. "But the question is, why would he do that? There must be a reason."
"Oh there is a reason Astral!" Heartland replied. (Heartland's LP: 4500 - 1000 = 3500. Darklord Ixchel and Noble's Levels: Ixchel: Level 4, Noble: Level 12.) Heartland then raised his right arm upwards.
"I Dark Tune my Darklord Ixchel with my Darklord Noble!" Heartland announced as the 2 monster turned into black spheres of dark energy. A dark pillar of negative energy appeared in the center of Heartland's field. "When the shadows are devoured by even darker shadows, the curtain pulls back and reveals a world without light! Dark Synchro Summon! Level -8! Darklord Executioner!" The dark pillar exploded a black color; thus revealing the shadowy white cloaked figure holding a sword. It appeared next to Number 1. (Darklord Executioner, DARK Fairy-type Level -8 Dark Synchro monster, ATK/DEF: 3000/2500.) Heartland thrusted his right hand forward,
"I activate the 2nd effect of Darklord Noble in my graveyard!" Heartland declared. "When it's used as either Fusion or Dark Synchro Material for a Fusion or Dark Synchro Summon, I can destroy up to 2 cards on the field!"
"No way!" Yuma gaped.
"This isn't good." III frowned.
"I destroy Darka's Number and 1 of Kaito's Set cards!" Heartland sneered. Darklord Executioner raised her sword as she glowed a dark color; preparing to destroy the selected cards.
"Trap activate, Shadowheart Belief! This card is activated when an effect, spell, or trap card targets two or more cards!" Darka yelled. "By sending a Shadowheart monster from my hand to the graveyard, your monster's effect is negated! I send Shadowheart Siren to the graveyard!" A barrier appeared in front of Rose Enchantress and Kaito's field; blocking Darklord Executioner's sword attack. Heartland tsked in annoyance as his effect failed.
"Argh! You brats are so annoying!" Heartland growled. "Fine then! No more Mr. Nice Guy! I activate my Number's effect! Once per turn, I target 1 card in your graveyard and attach it to my monster as a Xyz Material!"
"What?" Kaito asked.
"Heh heh heh… I think you lot, can guess which card I'm picking." Heartland grinned maliciously.
"Shadow Mosquito!" Astrana gasped in realization.
"Correctomundo!" Heartland replied with a grin on his lips. "Now come Shadow Mosquito!" The Number card flew out of Kaito's graveyard and became Number 1's Xyz Material. When that happened however, red lightning began to shock Kaito.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" Kaito screamed and his body began to shake violently, then he fell face-first and into the ground.
"Kaito!" Darka and Astrana gasped. Darka ran to Kaito's side shocked and worried as she helped him sit up. "Are you alright?!" She questioned urgently. Kaito's body shook still via the aftershock of the red lightning. He turned his head to face Darka and he nodded.
"Yeah." Kaito replied. "Yeah I'm alright." Darka looked at Kaito before glaring at Heartland.
"Heartland!" She snarled.
"What?" Heartland asked. "You got a problem with what happened there or something?" He chuckled before replying. "If so, then too bad! I said I'd win no matter what! Even if it means making you 2 go into unconscious!" Darka glared before she closed her eyes; taking deep breath before opening them. Coldness in her eyes.
"Kaito." She said lowly so only he would hear.
"Yes Darka?" Kaito asked.
"You'll be able to last until your turn right?" She asked lowly.
"I think so." Kaito replied. At this, Heartland chuckled.
"Who says he's getting another turn?" Heartland inquired.
"And what is that supposed to mean?" She asked coldly.
"I activate yet another of my Number's effects!" Heartland sneered. "By using a Xyz Material, I can destroy 1 card on the field!" Number 1 absorbed the Xyz Material, then began to glow.
"Destroy a card on the field?" Astral questioned stunned.
"That isn't good." Yuma frowned.
"I destroy Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!" Heartland grinned with glee. "And when I do destroy a monster, you take its ATK points as damage! Bye bye Kaito!"
"This is bad! Kaito will take Galaxy Eyes' 4500 attack points as damage!" Hotaru gasped.
"I activate my trap!" Kaito declared. "Prevent and Draw! Damage to me gets cut in half!"
"But the damage is still over his 2000 LP." IV frowned.
"Darka!" Astrana called.
"Shadowheart Siren's effect! By removing her from play, the damage is once again cut in half!" Darka declared. Siren's spirit appeared, letting out a high pitched scream at the blast; causing it to decrease in size as a shield from Kaito's trap appeared blocking most of the blast. Heartland scowled in sheer irritation.
"Fine then." Heartland replied. "But Kaito still take 1125 points of damage!" The shield around Kaito shattered upon the debris from the explosion of Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. After the shield shattered, Kaito got blasted into the air.
"Kaito!" They all gasped. Kaito then landed on the ground. (Kaito's LP: 2000 - 1125 = 875.)
"Kaito are you alright?!" Darka called.
"Doubtful." Heartland smirked darkly. "Besides, just a singular attack from 1 of my monsters will do him in anyway."
"Prevent and Draw also lets me draw a card from my deck." Kaito chimed in. "Draw!"
"Like it's going to matter Kaito!" Heartland laughed. "Number 1, attack Starliege Lord Galaxion!" Said Number began to charge up its attack.
"Darka now!" Astrana yelled.
"I know! I activate Shadowheart Trickster's other effect from the graveyard! By banishing him, I can activate a trap from my deck!" Darka yelled.
"So?" Heartland asked. "It's not gonna stop my attack! Number 1! Continue with your onslaught on Kaito's Starliege!"
"Maybe you should pay attention bug brain." Kaito spoked. "Darka did not specify which trap she was activating from her deck yet.
"That's right." Darka spoke, as the card slid out of her deck. "The trap I activate is Latticework Barrier!" Red diamond like lines suddenly appeared in front of Starliege; blocking Number 1's attack.
"Tsk…" Heartland muttered. "Alright fine! So you stopped 1 attack. But I still have my Dark Synchro to attack with! Executioner, execute some of Darka's LP! Darklord Executioner, attack her Number!"
"You are a fool Heartland." Darka frowned. Once again red diamond lines appeared shielding Rose Enchantress as well.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Heartland demanded. He pointed his right index finger at Darka. "Explain yourself! How did your trap stop both of my attacks?!"
Darka sighed looking almost annoyed; putting a finger to her temple.
"Since your brain is so small, I'll explain." She sighed. "You see, Latticework Barrier is a unique kind of trap. If it's set and activated normally, then it is able to protect one monster until the end of the Battle Phase. But if it's activated from the deck, it is able to protect all monsters on the field until the end of the Battle Phase." At that, Heartland chuckled.
"So it's basically at weaker version of Waboku." Heartland analyzed. Kaito gave Heartland a sarcastic look.
"Woooooow! Good job genius! You figured it out! All. By. Yourself." Kaito spoke towards Heartland, sarcasm dripping within each word he spoke.
"And there is one more thing." Darka spoke. "When activated, it deals damage equal to the damage of the battle it first stopped. In other words the damage between Number 1 and Starliege."
"Which totals 1000 points of damage." Kaito added. "Take this!" The red diamonds became red spears, piercing Heartland's body. Heartland cried out in pain as each red spear pierced his body; making him slide backwards a bit. (Heartland's LP: 3500 - 1000 = 2500.)
"Hmph. Quite simple." Darka smirked.
"You think I'm done for?" Heartland smirked. "If so, you'd be wrong." Heartland pulled 3 cards from his hand. "I set 2 cards, then I activate the field spell Darklord Castle!" A massive dark castle appeared behind Heartland and surrounded the whole area.
"What's going on?!" Tetsuo said shocked.
"Creepy." Kotori shivered, seeing the castle.
"Just what kind of field spell is this?" IV frowned.
"A field spell that'll give me an even greater advantage over these 2 fools!" Heartland retorted with a sinister smile on his lips.
"What?" Darka frowned.
"Did you forget about my Hall already?" Heartland's smirk widened slightly.
"Your Hall?" Darka frowned, before gasping in realization. "Don't tell me."
"Yes!" Heartland grinned. "You see, once during either players turn, I can bring forth a Darklord monster from my hand or Graveyard! So I shall bring forth my Superbia from my Graveyard!" The hall began to glow with a dark aura surrounding it, Heartland pulled a monster from his Graveyard and brought it to his field.
"Come back Superbia!" The dark fairy arose next to Executioner. He then pulled another monster from his graveyard and placed it next to Superbia. "Superbia's effect allows me to bring back a Fairy-type monster from the grave if it's Summoned from there. Since it was, I can bring back my Zerato." The sword-wielding fairy re-emerged onto the field. Kaito observed the monsters.
"He now has 2 Level 8 monsters again.." Kaito noted.
"An Xyz Summon." Astrana frowned.
"Correct Astrana!" Heartland smirked. He then raised his right arm upwards. "I now overlay Superbia and Zerato!" Both monsters became dark streams of energy and flew into the Overlay Network in the center of the field. It then exploded afterwards. "Xyz Summon! Rank 8! Darklord Swordsmaster!" A black armored fairy wielding a sword in her right arm appeared onto the field. 2 Overlay Units swirled around her. (Darklord Swordsmaster, Rank 8 Fairy-type Xyz monster, ATK/DEF: 3500/3000. Xyz Materials: 2. Heartland's hand: 1 card.)
"3500 ATK points." Astrana frowned.
"That's quite the monster you got there Heartland." Kaito retorted. "Shame will be taking it, along with the rest of your monsters down." At Kaito's remark, Heartland chuckled.
"Do not be so certain Kaito." Heartland remarked. "For you see, in case you dimwits have forgotten…my Darklord Executioner gains the effects of every Darklord card in my Graveyard, except for this archeteype's Counter Trap."
"Say what now?" Kaito asked. "How can that be possible?"
"Anything can be possible Kaito." Heartland replied, slightly irritated by the blonde. That irritation slowly vanished as he thrusted his right hand forward. "Now I use my Swordsmaster's effect! By using 1 Xyz Material, I can send up to 2 Darklord cards from my deck to the graveyard, then I can draw 2 more cards!" Heartland detached Zerato, then sent Darklord Ukoback and Darklord Enchantment from his deck to the graveyard, then drew twice.
"Hey!" Kaito snapped.
"Sorry Kaito!" Heartland grinned. "I now activated the effect of Darklord Ixchel in my hand, I can discard it and my Asmodeus to draw 2 more cards." Heartland did this as well. His hand at 3 has not changed. He then discarded 2 more cards and added back a Darklord monster to his hand. Darklord Tezcatlipoca, to be accurate.
"I end my turn there." Heartland concluded, his grin not faltering from his lips. "Well actually, before my turn officially ends, I activate the effect of Zerato through Executioner! By discarding my Darklord Desire from my hand, all monsters you control are destroyed! Hahaha!"
"Say what?!" Kaito growled.
"However, Executioner will meet its end upon my End Phase." Heartland added. "But regardless, goodbye Number 38 and Starliege!" Darklord Executioner raised her sword upwards and the sword glowed a dark color. It then shot out 2 dark beams at both Darka and Kaito's monsters; destroying them."
"No!" Yuma gaped. "Now they're wide open for Heartland's next turn!"
Darka frowned as she watched Rose Enchantress be destroyed before facing Heartland.
"Is that all to your turn fly?" She asked. Heartland's eyes twitched at Darka's remark, then his Dark Synchro exploded. Or so it seemed. When the smoke cleared, it was still there.
"Hey! How is your Dark Synchro still alive?!" Kaito demanded.
"Heh… I used Darklord Tezcatlipoca's effect. By discarding it when a Darklord monster I control would be destroyed, it's not destroyed." Heartland explained. ""Which means I now have my means to survive during the next turn. Just give up you 2. You cannot win." At that, a shadow appeared over Kaito's eyes.
"Give up?" Kaito retorted. "Why would I do that?" The shadow over Kaito's eyes vanished and his eyes showed complete and utter determination. "Sorry Heartland! But I am not gonna let myself lose like this! I activate my trap! Photon Howling! When a Photon, Galaxy, or LIGHT monster is destroyed this turn, by paying half my LP, I can Special Summon Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon from my Extra Deck or Graveyard, then I can attach Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon and this trap to the Summoned monster as Xyz Materials! Also! This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon!" Kaito pulled Galaxy-Eyes from his graveyard, along with Neo Galaxy-Eyes from his Extra Deck and onto the field. Neo Galaxy-Eyes roared at Heartland, which created massive shockwaves of energy. Heartland then realized something and his eyes widened.
"But wait!" Heartland spoke. "If it counts at Xyz Summon….. That means…!"
"It means the effects of all face-up cards you control are negated if Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon is an Xyz Material!" Kaito grinned. "Furthermore! If Photon Howling is attached to a LIGHT Xyz monster, my opponent cannot activate their Set cards!"
"No!" Heartland growled. "All my Set cards! Useless! Rargh!" (Kaito's LP: 825/2 = 413.)
"And it's only going to get worse for you." Darka stepped forward, with Astrana by her side. "Let's do it Astrana." She said with a smile. Astrana smiled and nodded. "Yeah we are together once more and now we shall show Heartland what that truly means." She said. Darka smiled with a nod as they faced Heartland.
"My turn! I!" She began.
"Along with myself!" Astrana spoke.
"Overlay!" Darka became silver mist while Astrana became aquamarine mist as the others gasped; watching them fly up.
"The two of us build the Overlay Network!" Darka yelled. The two collided as a rainbow light shone forth as they heard Astrana's voice.
"Our bond has evolved! Ever more unwavering! Ever more resolute! When our bonds come together our souls and strength become one, creating the myth, the Unity of Harmony!" In bright light, Darka appeared wearing an off the shoulder rose petal design dress similar to Rose Enchantress colored silver lined with violet with silver heeled boots, her left eye violet and her right eye rose red, with a crystal circlet that had a red and blue gem, and her silver wings out. "Xyz Change! Zexal!"
"That's!" III gasped.
"The new!" Sirius said stunned.
"Their new Zexal!" Yuma grinned. Darka landed to the ground, raising her hand.
"Harmonious light, purify the cursed darkness! Zexal Field!"
"No!" Heartland realized in shock as his field spell shattered in a silver light, as did his Hall. However, when Hall shattered, his LP increased by 2000. Putting him at 4500.
"Why did his LP increase?!" Takashi demanded, shocked. At this, Heartland laughed.
"You see, when Hall is destroyed, I gain 2000 LP." Heartland explained. "This an effect Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon cannot stop. Since it does not activate on the field, but in the graveyard."
"Hmph. It won't matter anyway." Darka said, her hand glowing silver. "A duelist guides her cards! Let ourselves be one with the harmonious light from our ambition! Come, card of harmony and courage! Shining Draw!" She drew her card in a bright silver light she looked at it before facing Kaito. "Kaito. I'm going to leave the rest to you. Understand?" She said, before smiling. "Think of it as your last test oh Lord of Legend." Kaito glanced at Darka and smirked.
"Don't worry." Kaito told her. "I got this covered Darka."
"Lord of Legend?" V questioned.
"We'll explain it later Chris. It's a long story." Hotaru sighed.
"Lord of Legend?" Heartland questioned. He then shrugged it off. "Oh whatever. It does not matter. You both will lose on my next turn anyways."
"We'll see about that." Darka smirked. "I activate the field spell, Ruins of the Galaxy-Eyes!" The field was changed to be as if in space on the moon. Large stone tablets surround them with different images of dragons. Each one as if telling part of a legend.
"This field is a replica of sorts of the moon." Darka said with a distant look. "Did you know the birthplace of the Galaxy-Eyes was in fact the moon?" Heartland shook his head.
"I did not." Heartland replied. "Not like I care. Now are you going to do more? Or end your turn and give all your precious hopes to Kaito? Ha! Like he can defeat me in a singular turn!" Kaito's lips formed a smile.
"Shame you do not read up on your history, bug brain." Kaito told Heartland. "You have no idea what's going to come out of these ruins. And by the time you do figure it out, it'll be far too late for you."
"Indeed. For these ruins are the resting place for the Genesis Dragon and the place for the revival. Or should I say, resurrection to the new Galaxy-Eyes." Darka said.
"Boring!" Heartland yawned. "Not are you done? Or are you doing something else?" Kaito sweatdropped in regards to Heartland's remark.
"Are you seriously this daft and overconfident Heartland?" Kaito questioned the green-haired man.
"You'll see the true effects of this field spell soon enough. I activate Shadowheart Priest from my hand! By sending him to the graveyard, I can bring back one monster from my graveyard. Resurrect! Rose Enchantress!" Darka called. With red rose petals Rose Enchantress reappeared on the field. "Next I activate Shadowheart Blood Drive's effect when an Xyz monster has been Special Summoned, I can Special Summon her to the field." And appeared on the field was a women wearing black and silver armor with long white hair, red dragon eyes, and silver dragon wings. (Shadowheart Blood Drive Level: 8 ATK/DEF Points: 2600/2200) "I place two cards facedown and end my turn." Darka finished. Kaito placed his right hand on top of his deck; preparing to draw his 7th card. As he did so, the top of his deck glowed a bright blue color, as did his body. Heartland gaped at the sight and he stepped backwards.
"IMPOSSIBLE!" Heartland shrieked. "What is this magic?!"
"Is that?!" III gaped.
"No way!" The Numbers Club gasped.
"This is the hope for all granted by the Genesis Dragon, guide us now to our future! Shining Draw!" Kaito drew the blue glowing card. After the light died down and Kaito observed it, he grinned.
"Heartland, it's over." Kaito spoke calmly.
"Oh?" Heartland questioned. "How so?" Kaito pulled the card he drew and revealed it.
"I activate the spell, Xyz Transformation!" Kaito declared. "With it, all non-Xyz monsters on your field become Xyz monsters. And not only does it gain a Rank equal to its Level, but now you must attach 1 card from your Graveyard to each Xyz monster you control as Xyz Material." Heartland grunted in annoyance and did so. Kaito then glanced at the field spell. "Next up, I use Ruins of the Galaxy-Eyes 'effect! Now, by detaching Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon from my Neo Galaxy-Eyes, I can then use it and Darka's Level 8 monster in order to build the Overlay Network!" Galaxy-Eyes detached itself from Neo Galaxy-Eyes, then it and Blood Drive became 2 streams of energy and went into the Overlay Network Portal. A bright blue sword appeared in Kaito's hand. "Appear Galactic Ultimate Dragon, Number 62! Darkness and light wandering in the universe. Sorrowful dragon who sleeps in the interstice. It's power of creating opens the doors of truth! Galaxy Eyes Prime Photon Dragon!" Kaito then slammed the blue sword into the ground. As soon as he did, the sword exploded, then out came a different evolved form of Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. The newly summoned dragon roared at Heartland. (Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon, Rank 8 Dragon-type Xyz monster, ATK/DEF: 4000/3000. Xyz Materials: 2. Kaito's hand: 6 cards.)
"Another Number?!" Yuma gaped.
"It's Prime!" Nyx gaped.
"This is Galaxy-Eyes' true form. Reborn from the power of Astral World, Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon." Darka said. Heartland just laughed at the sight of the Number, which made Kaito narrow his eyes.
"What so funny you freak?" Kaito asked. "You're about to get your ass kicked. And yet, you're laughing." He shrugged, then thrusted his right hand forward. "Well, maybe this will make you shut up! Battle! Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon, Attack Number 1" Number 62 roared, then reeled its head back; preparing to blast the Fake Number off the field. Heartland took notice of this and he smirked.
"Ha! Even if you do destroy my monster, I'll still have-!" Heartland began.
"No! No you will not Heartland!" Kaito interrupted. "I activate the effect of my monster! When it battles, it increases the Ranks of all Xyz monsters on the field by 1!" Kaito's Number, along with Heartland's 3 Rank 8's, became Rank 9. Darka's Number became Rank 5.
"Big deal!" Heartland retorted. "That didn't do anything!"
"Actually it did!" Kaito replied. "Observe! During the damage calculation of when this monster is battling, it gains ATK equal to the combined Ranks on the field x200! But while we're at it, I'll play 2 more effects! One of them is Honest, so now my monster gain 3000 ATK! Plus, by banishing Photon Howling and paying half my LP, Neo Galaxy-Eyes loses all of its ATK/DEF for this turn! But in exchange, those stats get added onto Prime Photon!"
"WHAT?!"
"That means Prime Photon gains 18,700 ATK!" Kaito declared. Prime Photon glowed a bright bluish-green color as its ATK increased. (Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon's ATK: 4000 + 4500 + 3000 + 3000 + 4100 * 2 = 22,700. Kaito's LP: 413/2 = 206.) At the ATK boost, Heartland staggered backwards in complete and absolute shock at the ATK stat.
"Tw-Twenty-two thousand seven hundred ATK?!" Heartland shrieked.
"Goodbye Heartland!" Kaito declared. "Go Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon! Eternity Photon Stream!" And with that, the Number unleashed it stream of energy at Heartland's Fake Number; destroying it and causing a massive shockwave then sent Heartland flying backwards several feet. He then landed on his back. (Heartland's LP: 4500 - 19,700 = 0. WINNER: KAITO TENJO AND DARKA SHINORI)
"They did it!" The others cheered. Darka and Astrana got out of Zexal as they smiled at Kaito.
"Good work Kaito." Darka smiled. Kaito glanced at Darka and nodded.
"Thanks Darka." Kaito smiled back.
"Y-You damn." They looked to see Heartland sitting up glaring at them. "By punks like you my burning heart of Heartland is-!" Heartland gasped as the Fake Numbers flew up. "The-These are." Heartland choked out. The Fake Numbers burned in black flames falling on Heartland; causing him to burn with a screech making them gasp. "I-I am burning!" Heartland gasped. "I'm… Fly burning?!"
"What's happening?!" Yuma gaped.
"Hot, so hot!" Heartland screamed. "It's hot! Hot! Ve-Vector-sama! I'm burning! W-Why?! Vector-sama!" Kaito sweatdropped at Heartland's pleaing cries towards Vector.
"Is he really this dumb?" Kaito rolled his eyes. "I can only guess that Vector set those Fake Numbers to kill their wielder if they lose a Duel with them in their possession."
"Not just Vector." Darka walked forward, shocking them as she watched Heartland be burned as the flames gained a red color and gaining the shape of Don Thousand making Astral and Astrana gasp.
"That is!" Astral gasped. Darka stood in front of the flamed shape the cold look in her eyes not gone as she touched the flames images flashing in her mind as the flames disappeared in black sparkles.
"Brother...that shape…." Astrana frowned.
"Yes no doubt that it was Don Thousand." Astral frowned as well. Darka touched her forehead; recollecting what she saw before she looked at her hand.
Don Thousand your plan will not succeed! I have returned to my old self and I will defeat you.
"DARKA!" Darka suddenly yelped and fell to the floor as she was suddenly being hugged by the crying Numbers Club, Lizzie, and Harumi. "You're back! Thank goodness you're alive!" Kotori cried.
"To summarize, we're so relieved you're back!" Takashi said.
"Don't ever make us worry like that again!" Tetsuo yelled.
"I'm so sorry! It was my fault I'm so sorry!" Harumi cried.
"E-Everyone please calm down. It's ok; I'm back." Darka began assuring them; sweatdropping slightly. Astrana floated by Kaito's side, giggling.
"Looks like she has her hands full." She remarked. Kaito glanced at Astrana, he too, smirked.
"Yeah well, that's what happens when you hang out with Yuma and his friends." Kaito retorted coolly.
"Hey! I take offense to that!" Yuma yelled.
"And you're also one of his friends too Kaito." Astrana teased. Kaito rolled his eyes.
"Yeah yeah." Kaito replied. He then glanced at Yuma with a smirk. "I'm just messing with you Yuma."
"Hard to tell with you." Yuma mumbled, making Astrana laugh and Astral chuckle. Nyx watched Darka frantically calming down the others with a light smile on her face as Bakura appeared next to her.
"I'm back. What did I miss?" He asked her.
"Besides Kaito Summoning Prime Photon Dragon, nothing really. Just a satisfying beatdown." Nyx smiled.
"He Summoned Prime? Wow! He never ceases to amaze us." Bakura remarked.
"Indeed." Nyx nodded.
"Ah Bakura you're back. Good, right on time." Darka smiled, finally managing to remove the others off of her.
"Yes. I did what you instructed me to do." Bakura nodded with a bow.
"Thank you." Darka nodded.
"So is anyone gonna explain on how the hell Kaito pulled off a Shining Draw?" IV spoke up.
"Yeah and the Lord of Legend?" Koru spoke.
"Don't worry. It'll be explained soon, but not right now." Darka said. At that, IV crossed his arms and made a pouty face, but he did not say anything further on the matter.
"And why is that?" Sirius questioned.
"Because." Darka said, turning. "They have arrived." They all looked at the direction she faced and gasped seeing different colored lights fly out of the pillar. "The time has come." Darka frowned.
