Chapter 27

The colored lights flew past the others causing destruction making them gasp and scream as the lights shot down on the ledge in a massive explosion as they all looked up once the smoke cleared they gasped to see the Barian Emperors along with two familiar faces.

"Shark?! Why are you?! Why are together with the Barian Emperors?!" Yuma demanded shocked. "Just what the heck is going on?!"

"Ryoga!" IV yelled.

"A-And Rio-san too!" Tetsuo said shocked. Rio didn't say anything Hotaru swallowed thickly while Manami paled.

"Hey Shark!" Yuma yelled.

"Shark… It feels like it's been ages since someone called me that, but now I am no longer Shark or Ryoga. I am Nasch!" Nasch yelled. They all gasped in shock by this.

"I beg your purrdon?" Cathy questioned.

"What does he mean?" Kotori asked.

"Shark just what are you saying?" Yuma questioned with a strained smile. "You mean you're a Barian Emperor? That… You can't be, right?" Nasch was silent, making Yuma scowl. "Say something Shark!" He yelled.

"Then let me show you! My true form!" Nasch yelled.

"Bariaphose!" The rest yelled. Their Baria Lapis glowed the group gasped as they changed forms.

"We are the Barian Emperors!" Nasch yelled.

"The True Galaxy-Eyes Master, Misael!"

"Everything is within my grasp! Girag!"

"My howling fist can break even God's bones! Alito!"

"TA-DA! Me, Vector!"

"I can instantly freeze even the fires of the sun! Sword of Ice, Merag!"

"The Barian's White Shield, Durbe!"

"And I am the one who leads the Barian Emperors, I am Nasch!"

They all gasped shocked the Barian Guardians looking grim while Manami wrapped her arms around herself.

"Th-That's… That's!?" Yuma began, shocked. "You're Nasch of the Barians?!"

"Shark… So the legend of those ruins were indeed your true memories?" Astral frowned.

"True memories?" Yuma questioned.

"In the vision that we saw, Shark was the king of a country." Astrana explained with a grimace. "Most likely his soul reincarnated in the Barian World, becoming the current him."

"That's crazy! Shark's soul is the reincarnation of some old king?!" Yuma yelled, shocked. "But… If that's true, then if he's a Barian, then why was he a human too?" Suddenly they heard clapping shocked they all looked to see Darka clapping with a slight smirk as she walked forward to stand between the Emperors and her friends.

"D-Darka?" Yuma blinked, shocked. Darka then gave a formal curtsy with a faint smile.

"Lord Nasch, king of Barians it is an honor to finally meet you." She spoke. They all gaped at her, shocked. Nyx snickered and Bakura chuckled as Nasch glared at her.

"Do you think this is a joke Darka?" He demanded.

"Not at all. I am only showing respect to you and of course Lady Merag." Darka smiled, standing straight and motioned to Merag. "After all, you two have been gone for so long; even the Shinori family was worried." The others looked at Hotaru and Manami at this. Hotaru only gave a slight shrug, but Manami didn't seem to hear her. Her eyes only on Nasch and Merag as she shook. Nasch glared at Darka.

"Judging by your attitude, something tells me you knew about me and Merag." He replied. They all grew wide eyed looking at Darka who shrugged.

"I'll admit, I was suspicious after Merag lost conscious in the last ruins and you were acting very odd, but I couldn't really say much since I got myself half dead thanks to Vector." She sighed, making the others flinch.

Darka placed her hands on her hips. "But let's get to the point Nasch, the real reason you guys are here." She said.

"Real reason?" Kaito questioned.

"What does she mean?" III wondered.

"Our real reason?" Nasch repeated.

"That's right you'll say it's to properly declare war on us, but it's not the only reason." Darka explained, before she got serious. "You came to get back your queen." At once, the Emperors stiffened while the others blinked.

"Th-Their queen?" Tetsuo questioned.

"The Eighth Barian Emperor." Darka said, making the others grew wide eyed, shocked as she went on. "Queen of Barian World, the Light of Life, the Missing Emperor, the list goes on. She's known as the one who keeps peace in Barian World, different from her fellow Emperors who fight. She, along with the King, rule Barian World to protect their people." Darka then frowned in a mournful manner. "But she never appeared along with the Barian Emperors and many began to wonder if she was only a myth that was created long ago." She explained, looking at Nasch. "But the King, the leader of the Barian Emperors, believed in his queen, knowing she was out there and awaited for her arrival."

"Shark…" Yuma whispered stunned, looking at Nasch.

"So you knew." Nasch stated.

"The Eighth Barian Emperor is the biggest lore in the Shinori family. Most believed it while others didn't." Darka frowned. "And in the end, it is true for you found her after all. Though in a different time and unconsciously." Darka turned motioning with her hand. "The Eighth Barian Emperor, the Queen of Barians, Manami Ocean Shinori." She spoke. Everyone gasped, quickly looking at Manami shocked. "No way..." Koru gaped.

"Manami…" Lizzie began stunned.

"Manami is the Eighth Barian Emperor?!" IV said, shocked. Manami's paling grew as Darka faced Nasch.

"Am I wrong?" She asked. Nasch glanced at Darka before he spoke.

"No you are not." He confirmed, before looking at Manami. "I knew the moment I realized who I really was that Manami was the one that's why." He put his hand out. "We came to get you Manami." He said. Manami stiffened with a gasp looking at Nasch.

"I…" She began stunned.

"I know your memories have been coming back ever since we went to the ruins, so you must realize it." Nasch spoke. Manami swallowed, looking away and Nasch spoke. "Iris is alive Manami." Nasch told her.

Manami gasped, looking up at Nasch shocked; beginning to shake.

"I-Iris?" She choked.

"Not only her, but all our people. Like me, they too have also waited for you to come back." He said gently. Manami gasped at this and began to hear their voices.

'Your majesty!'

'Our dear Queen!'

'Welcome back your majesty!' Manami dropped to her knees, tears overflowing choking back sobs. "Manami!" IV gasped, kneeling next to her, worried. Darka looked at Manami for a moment before she faced Nasch.

"You wish to have Manami back to your side. It's understandable and you have the right to do so." She said.

"Oi Darka!" Hotaru hissed. Darka silenced Hotaru by raising her hand as she continued.

"But I would like to ask you a question Nasch. And depending on your answer Manami, will go to you."

"What?" Nasch questioned.

"Well it's more like a question for you and Merag." Darka replied, before her face became dark.

"Who was the one who killed you two in Barian World years ago?" Everyone looked at Darka shocked by her question, the Emperors included. "What do you mean?" Nasch demanded.

"Oh come now Nasch, there's no need to hide it." Darka sighed. "You and Merag were reborn as Ryoga and Rio Kamishiro. For that to happen, you two would have to die in Barian World. But the question is how you died." Darka motioned to Nasch. "As the leader of the Barian Emperors, you are the strongest of the Barians, but you have a weakness." She said, motioning to Merag. "And that is your sister. Now Merag is no damsel that we all know, so this person would have to be someone that Merag wouldn't expect and lower her guard in order to capture her and use her as bait to kill you and Merag." Nasch and Merag grew wide eyed as the others looked at Darka, shocked.

"Darka what are you trying to say?" V questioned.

"With how you're talking." Shane began.

"You make it sound like one of the Barian Emperors killed them." Astrana finished. Darka was silent before crossing her arms with a frown.

"Yes that is exactly what I'm saying." She confirmed. They all were shocked as Darka went on. "A Barian Emperor is the only one who fits the bill and we know one is capable of murder, nearly killing me for dead is proof of that." She said.

"You dare accuse such a thing!" Durbe began angrily.

"Then Nasch, Merag, answer me this: Do you two remember how you died?" Darka asked. The two flinched, which answered Darka's question. "I thought so. Forgive me Nasch, but I can't, in good conscious, let my sister go to your side. Not when there might be a murderer with you." She frowned.

"Darka you…!" Nasch growled.

"But I would like to make a proposition with you my lord." Darka smiled.

"Proposition?" Takashi muttered, confused.

"Darka what are you?" Sirius muttered, pale face.

"And why should I listen?" Nasch demanded.

"Well considering who is on our side, can you really say no?" Darka asked, motioning to Manami. At this the others looked at Darka, shocked. What the hell?! Darka is using Manami to blackmail Ryoga?! IV thought, shocked.

A bit cruel but… Astral thought, glancing at Nasch. Nasch was clenching his hands tightly in rage, glaring at Darka who was unfazed. Highly effective. Astrana thought with a frown. Nasch glanced at Manami, who was being held by IV as she choked a sob before looking at Darka.

"What's your proposition?" He asked.

"Nasch..." Merag began. Nasch shook his head at her as Darka smiled.

"Well for one, I'd like if you gave us 2 hours to rest. I still haven't fully recovered my strength and I know you wouldn't want to duel if I wasn't in full strength; your pride wouldn't allow it." She said. He narrowed his eyes at her as she went on. "We'll be at Heartland Tower once the 2 hours are up. Either you, Merag, and Durbe will come to discuss the deal." She said.

"Why only them?" Vector demanded.

"Because they're the only ones that can act civil." Darka scoffed, glaring at Vector.

"Why you!" Vector yelled angrily.

"Stop Vector." Nasch spoke. Vector glared at Nasch, who looked at a still smiling Darka before he spoke.

"Fine I agree to your terms." He said. "But answer me this."

"Hmm?" She hummed curiously.

"Just what are you?" He questioned. They looked up confused as Darka raised an eyebrow.

"What am I? Nasch I know you wish to bury our memories together, but you should know that I'm a hybrid." She began.

"That's not what I mean." He countered, making her look at him with a frown. "To have the knowledge you have, the abilities, even going as far as knowing me and Merag. You're obviously hiding something." At this Yuma and Kaito flinched, knowing it was of Darka being who she really was. Astral and Astrana frowned deeply and Nyx and Bakura were unfazed as Darka sighed.

"Nasch." She began. Then suddenly the Emperor's Key, Empress's Key, and Nasch's Baria Lapis suddenly glowed to everyone's shock.

"What the?!" Yuma gasped.

"Oh what now?!" Hotaru yelled.

Don't tell me! A resonance?! Darka thought shocked. The Emperor's Key shot a gold beam, the Empress's Key shot a silver beam, and Nasch's Baria Lapis shot a blue beam. The three beams hit in a bright rainbow light. Yuma gasped, falling as Nasch's memories flooded his mind. These are… Shark's memories… He thought. Nasch winced as Yuma's memories of Astral World flooded his own mind.

Is this… Yuma's memories? He thought. Then both Yuma and Nasch gasped as more memories flood into their minds seeing Nyx and Bakura following a hooded figure in the palace of Astral World.

'This is foolish! If you go through with this, there's no telling what will happen!' Nyx yelled.

'But I cannot sit by and do nothing I cannot allow the future I saw become a reality.' the cloaked figure replied, sounding familiar to them.

'Even so, you shouldn't take this measure doing so will put you at risk.' Bakura scowled as they walked out of the palace.

The cloaked figure stopped turning to face the two.

'Then so be it. I am done hiding and being protected.' She snapped. The hood fell to show an older Darka her long silver hair fluttering behind her as her amber eyes were purple with a sheen of lavender glowed with fierce courage. 'For the sake of Barian World, Astral World, and Earth. For humans, Astral Beings, and especially the Barians, I'd gladly give up my life for them.' Both Yuma and Nasch gasped as they screamed. Yuma falling to the ground and lost consciousness and Nasch dropping to his knees. "Yuma!" Lizzie gasped.

"Nasch!" Merag gasped.

"What happened just now?!" IV questioned, helping Manami up.

"Darka what-?!" Astrana began to speak, but was stunned to see Darka's face pale with a light sheen of sweat as she clenched her teeth. No doubt they saw it. I have to hurry! She thought.

"D-Darka you!" Nasch choked. Darka glanced at Nasch before she allowed her wings to appear.

"Forgive me my lord Nasch, but this is where we take our leave." She said, her wings began to glow. "Remember our deal."

"Wait!" He yelled.

"Holy Radiance!" Darka's wings shone brightly, nearly blinding everyone causing them to cry out.

"My eyes!" Nyx yelled. With a snap of her fingers, Darka formed a Network under them, much to their shock as they fell in leaving behind the Barian Emperors.

"Tch!" Nasch hissed.

The group all cried out, falling to the ground of what looked to be a living room minus Darka who easily landed on her feet with Yuma in her arms.

"Dammit Darkalicia a warning when you use Holy Radiance! I nearly went blind!" Nyx snapped.

"Forgive me, but I had no choice." Darka frowned.

"Where are we?" Tokunosuke asked.

"Heartland Tower." Kaito frowned, looking around.

"I did tell them we'd be here." Darka replied, gently setting Yuma down on a couch.

"But what happened back there?" V questioned.

"It seems the Keys, along with Nasch's Baria Lapis resonated." Bakura frowned. "Darkalicia what did you see?" Darka was silent looking at Yuma before she spoke.

"No doubt we saw each others memories." She said.

"Your memories?" Kotori asked.

"Me and Yuma saw Nasch's memories of his past as king. And most likely Nasch saw our memories from Astral World." Darka explained, still not looking up. Both Astral and Astrana looked at one another. Both knowing there was more to what Darka was saying, but chose not to say anything.

"But what was that about Darka?! The way you used Manami like that!" Hotaru began with a frown.

"I had no choice. It was the only way for Nasch to agree to my proposition. Otherwise there would've been casualties." Darka frowned.

"Casualties?" III said, surprised.

"Guys?!" They looked and most were surprised to see Gauche, Droite, Rokujuro, Yamikawa, Fuya, and Anna rushing to them from another room.

"What are you guys doing here?!" Hotaru gaped.

"The Arclights contacted us in order to help in the battle against the Barians." Droite explained.

"We were all in the area ready to get involved but." Rokujuro began.

"But that guy suddenly grabbed us all and took us here!" Anna yelled angrily, pointing at Bakura.

"Because if I hadn't and if things went on, all of you, along with Thomas Arclight and Tetsuo Takeda would perish." Bakura frowned.

"What?!" Anna scowled.

"You wouldn't know that!" Gauche snapped.

"I didn't, but the Giver of Life did." Bakura stated.

"Giver of Life?" Fuya asked confused.

"Ah yes Lizzie had told us of this Giver of Life." Yamikawa frowned.

"But I thought the current Giver of Life went missing 22 years ago." V frowned.

"But the others who went to Astral World found me." They looked at Darka who stood up with a sad look. "I am the second Giver of Life, Darkalicia." She said.

"EHH?!" They yelled shocked.

"Aah!" Yuma yelped, startled awake.

"Yuma you're awake." Astral said relieved.

"I had a foresight vision of each of you dueling the Barian Emperors you lost and your souls were absorbed in Barian World." Darka explained. "Which is why I sent Bakura to take you all here."

"No way…!" IV frowned deeply.

"But wait Darka, so you're really?!" Koru began. Darka held up her hand. "I'll explain everything I swear, but right now we should eat and replenish our strength. Once we do, I'll explain." She promised. They all looked at one another and nodded in agreement.

Aurasoul: And that's the end of this chapter!
