Chapter 1

Dallas yawned softly has she took off her killer shoes as Roarke drove to the gates of home, "Who invented this shoes?" she groaned.

"I don't know, but you should fine out," Roarke looked at his wife with his amazing blue eyes.

"I should arrest him for torture," she laughed softly rubbing her sore feet, "Oh I forgot Mavis what to name her second child after you."

"Heaven help that child," causing a laugh from his wife.

Entering the gates to their home, Eve was ready to sleep, "I got a meeting with Whitney at 0900," she put the heels back on with a groan.

"Do you know why?" Roarke walked with her to front door.

"Not a clue?" Eve opened to an empty foyer, "Let me guess, the walking skeleton asleep."

Shaking his head Roarke lead his wife to the elevator that took them to their room. Eve never understood why Roarke loved her of all people. Eve watched Roarke as she took off her makeup. How did she get lucky. God broke the mold when he made Roarke with amazing blue eyes that could speak volumes.

"Roarke," Eve started "Can you help me with my zipper."

Knowing she could get the dress off by herself he could only smile at her, "Hmm… Let see what I can do."

He started kissing her next as he slowly unzipped her dress. When he started nipping at her neck the dress pooled to the floor joining the shoes she took off. Eve turned and kissed him wrapping her arms around him.

He picked Eve up and made to bed, "Roarke, I love you," she told him taking off his shirt.

"A'gra," he laid her unto the bed and started to kiss her again taking her breast into his hand causing her to let out small moan.

Moaning again she got his pants off, and soon they were both disrobed and slowly they made love under the starts.

Roarke and Eve moved together enjoying each other touch and taste. Every time was better than the last. Eve ran her nails ran down Roarke's back as she went over the crest and he followed, "I thank we killed each other," Eve mumbled as she curled up to him.

Laughing softly, "What a way to go," he pulled her closer as she went to dreamless sleep.

In death

Eve woke the morning to the smell of coffee as she rolled over to see Roarke up have a cup of coffee with the fat cat on his lap, "Morning," he voice rich with Irish.

Grumbling softly she got up and went to the AC to get herself a cup, "That lovely vision in the morning."

Drinking the coffee Eve looked at him with her whiskey brown eyes, "I could say the same thing about you."

Smiling that wicked smile at her, and she knew she would never get use to how much he loved her, "What are you think about, Eve," he couldn't help but ask his wife.

"I was thinking that if it was a slow day and I don't have any cases maybe you swing by and we could grab lunch," Eve said causing Roarke raise an eye brow.

In death

Entering homicide Eve found Peabody at her desk going through a old cold case, "Board Peabody?"

"A little," she admitted, "How the party last night?"

"Boning, I almost got into a fight with a woman who was flirted with Roarke."

"Really," she put the file down was she pretty?"

"Built but dump as a brick house. Whatever that means,

"I thank it means she didn't keep any of her education," Peabody explained to her, "I just grabbed one of the cold cases to take a look," Peabody shrugged her shoulder.

"I get that so read it yet," Dallas said when Trueheart came in not in the best of mood.

"Trueheart, what happened," Peabody asked clearly concerned.

"The girl I was dating decided dating a cop was too hard and broke up with through a Dear John letter."

"Ouch," Santingo said, "been there a couple of time."

"You telling she didn't break face to face," Dallas looked at him.

"Yeah she slipped the envelope under my apartment door before I got up this morning," Trueheart sighed, "That low for woman."

"Her loss," Carmichael said giving Trueheart a pretty smile, "Let me know when you ready to date again. I'll set you up with my younger sister. She got brain and beauty and most importantly a heart."

"See like I said plenty of fish in the sea," Baxter told his younger partner.

"Baxter," Dallas looked at him," Give him some time before you pitch that line."

Sighing Trueheart sat down and rubbed the back of his neck, "Can we just work?"

"Yeah got a floater just for you two," Dallas handed him the file, "It a cold one work till it's hot," Dallas patted him on the shoulder, "If she broke through a letter she not worth it."

In Death

Whitney was looking out the window when he got a page that Dallas was here to see him," he sat back down behind his desk as she came in.

"You want to see me, sir," she stood at his desk.

"Dallas, I understand you father was Richard Troy."

"Unfortunately sir, but why am I here," she looked at him with cop eyes.

"Sir, Cpt. William is here as well as Dr. Mira," the Commanders admin informed him.

"Let them in," he said as Mira came in before William with fire in her eyes.

"Jack, I wished you informed me of this before calling Dallas to your office," Mira was in attack mode.

"Dr. Mira, calm down," Whitney told her causing Mira to glare at him with daggers in her eyes.

"What's going on Commander and what does my bastard of a father have to do about it?"

William looked at Dallas with cold grey eyes, "You're Dallas."

"Yes," she glared back at him but twice as cold what does Richard Troy have to do with this?"

"Eve set down," Mira urged her, "This is going to shock if what he says is true."

"What?"Eve looked at Mira whiskey colored eyes.

"Lt. Dallas, I'm Cpt. William I work in Missing person in Flordia."

"Long way from home," Dallas said, "Commander," she looked at Whitney.

"Yes," Mira finally got Dallas to set down but her eyes never left Whitney.

"Just listen to what he had to say," Whitney ordered watched her closely

"Can you tell me your mother name?" William asked her

"Troy called her Stella but I don't think that was her real name. She went by a lot of them."

He took out An old photo of a woman, "Would this be her?"

Sighing slightly annoyed to look at the photo, the woman's eyes were cold almost empty, Eve knew those eyes and that face and she felt her blood run cold, "I'm going to ask you once what is going on?" Eve's hand was shaking her eyes were cop flat and cold as ice.

"Answer the question, Dallas," Whitney ordered.

"Jack," she heard Mira sharp tone, "Enough."

Whitney looked at Mira who eyes held fire, "Dallas please wait outside."

Dallas stood on shaky kegs with help from Dr. Mira. She could tell feel that Dallas hands where sweating and her breath shaky, "Go wait outside, try and calm down and call Roarke ask him to come," Dallas l looked at her, "Call your husband."

Once outside in the hallway Dallas sat down and pulled out her link and called Roarke. She smiled when she saw his face, "I was on my way into town."

"Can you come to Central?" Mira said you should be here."

"Eve, what wrong?" Roarke asked concern clearly in voice and showed on his face.

"I'll explain when you get here. Mira mad at Whitney," Eve said looking into his blue eyes.

"I'm half way there. Are you outside Whitney's office?" he asked her.

"Yes," she said her face was pale he could tell she was not feeling well.

In Death

Mira voice was sharp and calm, "Jack you are of the few people know what happened to her. This man might reopen wounds that are just now starting to heal. I told Dallas to call Roarke. You want her to remain calm, but if you don't want her to break Roarke will hold her together."

"Dr. Mira," Cpt. William started till Mira gave a look that said to shut up.

"Captain, you can question her, but I want her husband to be here," Mira might look delicate but she was mama bear mode. As it always did when it came to Dallas.

Jack Whitney thought about what Mira said, "Do you really think that Dallas will break down?"

"Highly unlikely, but if she does Roarke will be able to calm her down. He should have been her in the first place.

In Death

Roarke came into Whitney's waiting room, and saw Mira talking softly to his wife, "I'll let Whitney know you can talk now," she gave a small smile.

Roarke took Mira set and was all Eve said leaning against him.

"Dallas," Mira voice, "Both of you come in."

Roarke had his hand on small of her back as they entered Whitney's office. Roarke's eye cold as ice.

"Jack," Roarke said coldly, "What this about?" Eve stood pale with cop cold eyes.
