Goodbye
Izuku and Mina both complained about Shindo and Camie until they were satisfied before saying goodbye.
"I miss you already," Izuku added with a light-hearted tone, not wanting to sound as clingy as he felt he was being.
"Yeah, I'll be back in a few... Hey Izuku?" Mina was debating to ask him about the love thing that her friends mentioned.
"Hm, what is it, Sweetie?"
"Oh, um, n-no. It's nothing, I just miss you too." She held back with a soft voice. "I'll see you soon,"
"Okay, bye." Izuku hung up and put his phone away. "Sorry about that Reiko," He sat back down on the table where he was nerding out with one of his first-year friends.
"Nonsense, phone calls are permitted as long as it's not a distraction to others, and if you haven't noticed there's no one to be distracted."
Izuku chuckled ruffling the back of his hair, "Y-Yeah, I guess that's true, I know it's usual for it to be quiet during the weekends but where's Kamakiri?" Izuku had a closed-eye smile as he finished his sentence.
"Oh you know him, he and Tetsutetsu went to challenge Bakugo and Kirishima. It's a benefit that you two never became rivals or our library days would have been bleak."
Izuku mentally cringed. "Th-That's true... But it does sound like him. Kacchan is enough to deal with. It's a good thing Kamakiri and I became friends from our love of books and not from his competitive side. I actually thought he was a delinquent before getting to know him." Izuku spoke with his usual stuttering cheerful voice. 'Although there was a time when we were rivals. Even if neither of us wanted to admit it...' He glanced towards Reiko and her haunting allure before ignoring it.
Reiko grabbed her mug of coffee raising it up to her lips, taking a sip before speaking. "Although it would have been pleasant if he could join us," She mused softly as she took another sip before staring off in thought, speaking them aloud, "Like our first-year..."
"Y-Yeah..."
Izuku, Reiko, and Togaru were friends who used to sit around the library, having shared a lot of memories, good and bad.
After he finished sharing a cup of coffee with Reiko, Izuku headed for one of the roofs on U.A. Tsuyu had set up a small garden. He entered through the roof door. The sunlight was basking over the plants giving them the glow of life and Tsuyu was at the center of all of it. She was in a sundress that flowed along to the gentle breeze as she tended to her plants, sprinkling them with water.
"Hey Tsuyu."
"Hello, Izuku, I'm glad you could make it. It's been a while since you've been up here." She placed her water sprinkler aside as she greeted him, clasping her hands together and giving him that smile where her tongue stuck out. She then put her finger to her cheek, glancing up to the sky. "Now that I think about it, I can't think of the last time either you or Fumikage came up here."
Izuku ruffled the back of his hair, apologetically. "Yeah, sorry about that, Mina keeps me occupied." He chuckled a bit at the end as he walked up to the garden and her. "Although I can be the same with her." Izuku or Mina never said it outright because neither of them wanted to admit it but they were a clingy couple.
"I suppose so," She assumed before brushing it off, content with sharing her hobby with a close friend. "Ochaco said she would come by too, maybe she can bring Fumikage along." But Izuku heard it in her voice.
As the tranquil time moved on, Izuku was in thought about the conversation he had earlier in his room. 'Does Tsuyu know about Tokoyami asking Uraraka out? If she doesn't, should I tell her... But I can't just involve myself with something personal like this.' He glanced over at Tsuyu, 'Uraraka is one of the few who always comes up here to help Tsuyu. Considering how close they are, I wouldn't want something to cause a rift between them,' Izuku clenched his jaw as he thought about it. He figured he owed Tokoyami the benefit of the doubt, 'After all he came to me out of respect, I should do the same...' He decided to keep quiet and if anything he would talk to Tokoyami about it.
"So how was your first date with Mina?" Tsuyu casually mentioned as she tended a rose.
"H-Huh?" Izuku was brought out of thoughts, his eyes regaining focus.
"Remember, I was the one who asked about it when you guys started dating, I was curious about the outcome."
Izuku scrunched his eyebrows, recalling. He answered her question but thought it was strange and out of nowhere, just like when she first asked them about it. "Oh yeah, thanks. If it wasn't for you, I don't know when we would've had our first date." He had a ditzy smile trying to hide his background thoughts, 'We were too busy humping like rabbits to worry about a first date!'
Izuku told Tsuyu about his date with Mina as they passed the time, it caused them to have a conversation about dating and relationships, with some antics included.
"And because I was too focused on the book, Mina stumbled into me and we ended up getting tangled on the ground." He chuckled before letting out a sigh, "I was actually hoping for it to go better but it worked out in the end."
Tsuyu giggled, enjoying the story. "That sounds just like you two... It reminds me of the time Dark Shadow caught me during a training exercise."
"Oh, r-really?"
Before they could continue the conversation the door opened. They both turned their heads to it, revealing Uraraka.
"Ochaco, you came." But Tsuyu noticed that Tokoyami wasn't with her.
"Hey, Uraraka, I figured you'd drag Tokoyami up here," Izuku chuckled.
"H-Huh?" Uraraka's cheeks heated up at the mention of the bird boy, she tried to hide it by placing her hands in front of her face as she mumbled denial. "Wh-What makes you say that? J-Just because we've become close doesn't mean, anything!.." After her embarrassed outburst, she calmed down, her blush receded as her eyes grew unsure, "I just need time to think." She whispered to herself, before bouncing back with joy, "And this is the perfect place!"
Uraraka easily got into the groove with Tsuyu and the two of them were talking and laughing like usual best friends.
The sun was starting to set, giving the atmosphere in the small garden a homely feel. Izuku could tell that Tokoyami already asked out Uraraka. Izuku didn't know why but he was starting to feel like an outside participant between Uraraka and Tokoyami. He glanced between the two girls and figured he should just step away.
"Um, I'm gonna get going back to the dorms, Mina's probably gonna be back soon."
Uraraka tensed a bit before following after him, "Um, Deku, I was a-actually wondering if we could talk about something... Please?"
Izuku could tell what she was referring to. He glanced over her shoulder to Tsuyu before staring back at Uraraka. "S-Sure Uraraka."
They both walked to the door, heading to the stairwell on the other side to talk privately. Once they were alone Uraraka took a deep breath before speaking.
"Um, Deku the thing is that Tokoyami, he-,"
"Ah, look Uraraka, Tokoyami already came to me about this and told him I'm fine with it. S-So honestly you don't have to also." Izuku interrupted, he was feeling awkward and wanted to get this out of the way as fast as possible.
"He did? I guess he would do something like that." She glanced down and to the side, "He would do something like that, despite his demeanor he's actually really empathetic and sensitive, I guess it makes sense when you have to share your body with a quirk."
Izuku's expression softened as he saw the way she was talking about him, she wasn't even aware that she was doing it. "Uraraka," He interrupted her again.
"Huh?"
"You two look really happy." Was all he needed to say.
Uraraka's lips parted in shock before they curved into a bashful smile, as she nodded her head, playing with a lock of her hair. "Thanks, Deku." She then pumped herself up. "I'm done pushing down my feelings!"
Deku and Uravity shared one last smile before they both said goodbye to the feelings they used to have for each other.
