A spring night and summer sunset
Izuku groaned, annoyed at how the party turned out. He had just put his girlfriend to bed after she had blacked out. "Ugh why did she keep saying it was her fault?"
He opened the door to the roof, and despite it being late at night he knew he would find Tsuyu alone tending to her garden as she waited for every to come home safely, her worry evident as she let out a croak seeing that it was Izuku.
"Tsuyu, you can go to bed. Todoroki and Kacchan will get everyone home."
She had a tongue-out, closed-eye smile as she replied. "No thanks, I'd rather wait." And then she opened her eyes noticing his appearance, he was scraped up with a busted lip and his clothes were ruffled as if he had taken a heavy tumble, but what she noticed most was his strained eyes. "Besides it looks like you need the rest more. What happened at the party?"
Izuku let out a weak chuckle as he rubbed his tired eyes, "The same thing that happened at the last one. Everyone drank, except this time it was Mina who puked on my favorite pair of shoes, and not Uraraka."
Tsuyu let out a matching giggle, "So just like the last one, you decided to come up here after it was over?"
"I... I guess I did, huh?" Izuku then rubbed past his eyes, to rubbing his whole face in frustration, "Mina and I had our first fight and I just want some time to think."
"That's what you said last time too..." But instead of him fighting with Mina he had a fight with Uraraka after their first kiss.
Izuku let out another hopeless chuckle with an exasperated sigh.
"I really do hate parties."
"Me too."
They were both by the roof's railing, she was leaning her back on it, staring at her small garden. She was in her sundress, despite that it was night, and she also had his old sweater draped over her shoulders to keep warm.
He was facing the opposite direction as her, with his hand gripping the railing as he looked out into the city skyline. His eyebrows were furrowed and knitted as he thought about the last time he was here after a party. He gripped the railing harder before he finally spoke his thoughts. "So what, is it going to be like last time too, where you pretend nothing happened?"
And she heard the hint of disdain in his voice. The wind was flowing and had captured a few long locks of her hair, so she tucked them behind her ear. "Yes, if that's what you want."
Izuku's grip on the railing softened, hearing her voice. He sighed and shook his head. "I'm sorry, Tsuyu, I didn't mean it... It's just been a rough night."
Tsuyu let out a gentle croak as she pushed herself off the railing. "That's what you said last time too..."
"Yeah, I did, didn't I..."
"We can stay up together, waiting for everyone else to come back."
"That's what you said last time, Tsuyu..."
The sun was setting as Izuku looked on with worry as his girlfriend, Mina, and his former love interest, Momo walked away from them as they went to talk privately.
"Hey, Midoriya, we're going to play another round of chicken fight, want to be my partner." Asui asked Midoriya.
"H-Huh?" He turned his attention to the frog girl that had emerged out of the water next to him. "Oh, sure Tsu, hopefully I don't get elbowed again." Referring to the joke he always made about picking Tsuyu over Mina.
"Don't forget about us!" It was the lunar bunny and Izuku flinched at the voice of his boss. He turned to the voice and his draw almost dropped at the ridiculousness. Mirko was ready for a game of chicken fight and was carrying Mt. Lady with her only arm with no difficulty.
'They are gonna destroy us!' He knew how competitive both Mirko and Mt. Lady were.
"Us too! Get ready Izu!" Camie was on top of Shindo.
Izuku just stared at her with deadpan eyes. "I'm pretty sure Mina would want to be here to deal with you guys personally." But then he grew his typical shark eyes she blew a bubble from her gum before it popped into a pink mist. "And no using your quirk!"
Camie just rolled her eyes seemingly ignoring her partner's words.
"Oi, we can use our quirks this time?" Bakugo had overheard the conversation and had his free hand sparking up while holding Toru with his other hand.
"Huh? K-Kacchan? N-No, no one said anything like that!" Izuku snapped his head towards Bakugo in a panic.
"This will be a piece of cake then." Todoroki's body was frosty, chilling the water around him.
"T-Todoroki please don't escalate the situation!"
But it was too late and at this point, it became a game of chicken fight with everyone using their quirks and Izuku ultimately suffering for it. 'How did everything get out of hand so easily? Oh right, Momo is usually the motherly figure that keeps everyone in check...' Izuku let out a pathetic chuckle as he was swept away by the craziness.
And the would-be mother figure was with Izuku's girlfriend as they finally talked to each other since the party. They were sitting next to each other on the sand as they watched
"Ashido, I just wanted to start off, by saying, I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me at the party-,"
"Stop right there, Yaomomo." Mina interrupted.
"P-Pardon?"
"I won't let you take all the blame." Mina had her knees up to her chest with her arms wrapped around them. "I was the one who overreacted over something that isn't even my business."
"N-No, Ashido of course it involves you, Izuk-, er Midoriya is your boyfriend, and you have every right to be upset with me, I purposely instigated that situation..." 'Even after I promised Izuku that I wouldn't do anything.'
"Ugh, I'm so sick of being upset. I don't want to be upset with you Yaomomo... Besides I was the one who encouraged you to go after your Winter fling, I just didn't want to believe that it was Izuku." But it was something that was always in the back of Mina's mind, even before the party. It was something she realized the day Momo invited Izuku for karaoke while excluding her, she just refused to acknowledge it until it was shoved in her face and she was drunk enough to confront it.
"I'm just an insecure idiot." And she added a weak chuckle, attempting to laugh off her flaw.
"I guess we're the same in that regard." Momo admitted in a moment of understanding.
Mina and Momo simply hid their insecurities in their own ways. Momo would attempt to keep herself elegant and composed, while Mina would be spunky and overly energetic.
The waves were crashing on the shore with a peaceful atmosphere as they both genuinely enjoyed the tranquil moment.
Momo grabbed a clump of sand and let it slip through her fingers as she balled her hand into a fist, attempting to ask Mina her question as he lip quivered.
"Ashido, can we be friends again?"
Mina was quiet for a moment as she stared at the waves before finally turning to Yaomomo with a toothy grin. "We already are, Silly!"
And Momo let out a breath she didn't know she was holding as her eyes grew happily tearful. "What a relief."
"Now that, that's settled, um s-so, what did happen between you and Izuku over winter break?"
