The Sorting of Rubeus Hagrid
"Hello Mr. Hagrid."
"Hi! But can you just call me Rubeus? Or maybe just Hagrid? Mr. Hagrid's my dad."
"Are you close with your Dad?"
"Of course! He's the best! Kind of a tiny bloke though."
"I suspect a lot of people would seem tiny to you."
"Well yeah, I mean I haven't spent a lot of time with people. It's usually just me and Dad. But Dad says I should know that the people my age are a lot smaller than me."
"Does it bother you?"
"Why would it? Being bigger just means there's more of me to like! Or at least that's what Dad always says. It's also really helpful. I can reach really high things and I can carry all my pets!"
"I think that's an admirable way to think about it. I wholeheartedly agree with your you're not worried?"
"Why would I be? The only thing I'm worried about are my pets, and Dad. I don't know if he can take care of them all."
"How many do you have?"
"Just a few...a cat, a couple of bunny rabbits, and a niffler. But dad says there are a lot of animals in Hogwarts too...but he doesn't think there are any dragons. I really want a dragon."
"Wouldn't you be scared of a dragon?"
"Of course not! What's to be scared of?"
"I'm not sure if you're brave or just naive. But in any case I think I know where to put you."
"Okay. It was nice talking to you Mr. Hat."
"The pleasure was all mine. Good Luck."

A/N: I finally got around to this. Its on the shorter side but I feel like unlike most of the characters, an eleven-year-old Hagrid wouldn't think there was anything different about him. He wouldn't be nervous about entering Hogwarts, and therefore the Hat has nothing to confront him about. Also I had to work within the constraints of him apparently being a Gryffindor (I had always thought he was a Hufflepuff).
A/N 2: Harrison, fine you've convinced me, I'll add Newt to my list, but he might take awhile to get to because I've only watched the first Fantastic Beasts film, and that was all the way back when it came out. So I have some rewatching to do before I make a character study about him. Also, sorry this story is meant to be canon compliant so no alternate Harry sortings :(
