Jessica and Ventus were together watching the meteor shower together. "Why does this seem so familiar?" Ven asked.
"What do you mean?" Jessica questioned.
"I just feel like I've done this before. Do you ever get that feeling?" Ven wondered.
"Yeah, I think so. Whenever I fight, I feel the same way, but I never have fought until I came here." Jessica turned her head to see that Ventus had fallen asleep. "Ven?" When he didn't wake, she decided to let him sleep.
Shortly after the meteor shower was over, Aqua came. "Sorry that I couldn't make it," She apologized. Jessica put her finger to her lips, signaling her to be quiet, and pointed at Ventus. Aqua nodded and went behind Ventus. Jessica lightly shook Ventus.
Ventus opened his eyes, sat up, yawned, and laid back down to go to sleep, not realizing that Aqua was there. "Whoa!" He shouted when he saw her and sat up again. "Give me a break, Aqua." Jessica laughed at the funny sight.
"Ven, you hopeless sleepy head. If your plan was to sleep here, you should have at least brought a blanket," Aqua sighed.
"But, that place. Did I dream it up? I really felt like I've been there before, looking up at the stars," Ventus pondered.
"Except you've always been here with us," Aqua replied.
"Yeah, I know," Ventus smiled. He sat down at the edge of a small cliff with Jessica and Aqua. "Do you ever wonder what stars are? Where the light comes from?"
"Well, they say-" Aqua started.
"That every star out there is another world," A voice behind them finished.
They turned their heads to the voice. "Terra," Aqua greeted.
"Yep. Hard to believe there are so many worlds out there besides our own. The light is their hearts, and it's shining down on us like millions of lanterns," Terra commented.
"That reminds me of an old legend we have in Sunset Kingdom. They say that there's a girl full of both light and darkness. She's the key to great power," Jessica mused.
"You know, we still need to give you your birthday presents," Terra mentioned handing Jessica a present. Jessica took it and opened it to discover it was a music box. The tune sounded familiar.
"What's the name of this song?" Jessica wondered.
"Here We Go. I can sing it to you if you want," Aqua replied. Jessica nodded.
"I had a dream
I was waiting for a miracle to come
Is it a whim to have a momentary kiss?
Hey no fair saying sorry
I'm still not going to talk about the things I like"
Suddenly Jessica closed her eyes and started singing.
"Let's look at the sky side by side again
The chance is now!
Looking at our intertwined fingers
Don't decide on your own to say goodbye
Here we go!
With a new you and me we'll do even better than before
With the strength to believe in today
Let's change our destiny
Here we go!"
"Jess, you know this song?" Aqua inquired.
Jessica opened her eyes. "No. That was really weird. It just popped into my head," She said.
"Those were the song lyrics. Do you know the rest?" Aqua asked.
"No. It was like I was in a trance," Jessica replied.
"That's weird," Terra remarked.
Jessica was starting to feel uncomfortable. "What did you get me, Aqua?" She questioned. Aqua handed her a present, and Jessica opened it. It was a purple stuffed cat with a yellow moon on its forehead. "Awww, a kitty. I'm going to name it Luna. Thanks, Aqua. I never had a stuffed animal before."
"You haven't?" Aqua gasped.
"Because I'm more mature than the average 2-year-old, everyone treats me like I'm older than I am," Jessica explained.
"Shoot!" Ventus exclaimed, "I forgot your present. Be right back." Then he rushed off. Soon he came back holding a present.
Jessica opened it and gasped. "It's beautiful. I love it. My very own unicorn pillow pet!" Jessica squealed.
"Jessica, will you give me the honor of singing the song with you?" Ventus asked.
"Of course." Jessica smiled.
"It's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a pillow pet." Jessica and Ventus sang.
"This got so weird." Terra groaned.
"Oh yeah. Terra, you and I have our Mark of Mastery Exams tomorrow. I made us good luck charms," Aqua mentioned, holding four star-shaped items dangling on strings. One was blue, one was green, one was orange, and one was pink. Aqua tossed the green, orange, and pink ones to Ventus, Terra, and Jessica.
"Ven and I get one too?" Jessica inquired.
"Of course. One for each of us. Somewhere out there, there's this tree with star-shaped fruit, and the fruit represents an unbreakable connection, so as long as you and your friends carry good luck charms shaped like it, nothing can ever drive you apart. You'll always find your way back to each other. Technically I think you're supposed to make them out of seashells, but I did the best with what I had," Aqua explained.
"Sometimes you are such a girl," Terra sighed.
"Hey, what do you mean sometimes?" Aqua demanded.
"So this isn't a real good luck charm?" Ventus piped up.
"Well, that's yet to be seen. But I did work a little magic on it," Aqua commented.
"Really? what?" Ventus questioned.
"An unbreakable connection," Aqua answered, holding her wayfinder up in the air.
"Hey, Jess, you want to practice with me?" Ventus offered.
"No thanks. I think I'm going to relax a little," Jessica declined before she yawned.
"It sounds like it's time for you to go to bed. Do you want me to carry you?" Aqua asked. Jessica nodded, and Aqua carried Jessica to her bed. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep.
Well, that was a long chapter. In case you didn't know, the song, Here We Go, was from the live-action Sailor Moon series. Thank you, Cheesecake Superstar, for your support. I hope you will continue to enjoy my story.
