Hey everyone,

I'm sorry I've been gone for a while, I've had a lot of drama lately.

I was dating this guy, and he's really attractive and I was feeling good about myself, but he's known to be kind of a player? So I asked him what he was in the relationship for and he said mostly physical. :(((

Okay so we sort of broke up but I missed him a lot and he asked if we could spend two weeks together and I said yeah.

Halfway through the first week I'm rehearsing break ups with my best friend and her boyfriend because we're like a mini friend group now.

So this was last Tuesday, a week from when I'm writing this, and I was going to break up with him on Wednesday.

BUT THEN, on Wednesday, he texts me that this might not be working anymore! He robbed me of my break up!

So annoying. So anyways after school I called him and broke up with him. The issue is, I think I broke up with him, and he thinks he broke up with me. Ugh.

But on another note, my brother came home for Thanksgiving from his freshman year in college and it was awesome. I missed him a lot.

Also, Black Friday shopping was good.

Okay I am talking a lot about myself, I'll do my thank you and you can get on to reading.

Thank you to everyone for following, favoriting and reviewing, it helps get my story out there, and means so much to me.

And thank you all of you right now for reading.

Onto the story!

CHAT NOIR POV:

Chat Noir leaped from rooftop to rooftop, ignoring the sound of Ladybug's cries behind him.

Faster, faster still.

He had to get away.

His legs started to burn, but he kept running.

He felt his lungs start to struggle a little bit.

He used his large leap to cross an especially large gap between buildings.

Unlike usual, he didn't savor the feeling of being weightless.

His vision was a little bit blurry, and only then did he realize he was crying.

He landed onto the roof of the next building with an ungraceful grunt.

He tried to land on his feet but he stumbled, falling onto the concrete rooftop and sliding a little bit.

He winced and looked down at his hands.

They had a couple cuts and were bleeding.

"Damn it," he whispered to himself.

If those showed up on the photographer's camera, his father would freak out.

He rolled his neck.

All he had to do was get home.

Not only did he have to escape that shitty situation, but his ring beeping, signalling that he would turn back soon.

Ugh. Turning back to Adrien.

Not that being Chat Noir right then was a great choice either.

He didn't have a choice though.

Chat jumped onto his balcony, looking around to make sure no one saw him.

Once he was sure that he was safe, he slipped into his room.

"Plagg, claws in."

His kwami burst out of his ring and immediately rushed over to his plate of cheese.

Adrien flopped down onto his bed and smiled at the sight of his kwami so happy.

"You know, Nathalie is beginning to wonder how I'm eating so much cheese," Adrien teased, despite his mood.

"Nathalie knows that you're a growing boy. As long as you still have your body type when it's time to model, she'll be happy."

Adrien sighed. It was true.

It was hard work to keep up his diet and work out regimen, but modelling seemed to be the only thing he could do right in the eyes of his father.

Besides, he liked the way he felt when he saw people walking down the street in outfits inspired by clothes he had modeled in.

Chat Noir made a difference every day. Adrien got to make a difference too this way.

Even though he knew it was shallow, he liked modelling enough to keep doing it.

Adrien closed his eyes, resting his forearm on his face.

God, he needed a break.

His two lives were crushing him.

Keeping secrets from his friends and his father was hard enough, but he did it because he could help the citizens of Paris and he could be free.

And, of course, the perk of seeing Ladybug.

Shit. Ladybug.

Now the perks of being Chat Noir were severely lowered.

Getting to see the girl he loved everyday for the past couple of years had been the best part of his day.

She was his best friend, and was always there for him.

But now…

Adrien had always felt unwanted.

Between his father ignoring him for six weeks after his mother died to how replaceable he felt with his friends, he had always struggled with it.

The only times he could truly feel wanted were with his best friends.

Nino, Ladybug, and recently, Marinette.

But now Marinette was avoiding him.

Ladybug had chosen someone else.

Nino, as wonderful of a friend as he was, struggled to understand Adrien's troubles.

His father was impossible to talk to, always cold and closed off.

And Nathalie and Ivan were technically his employees. How could he talk to them casually when he hadn't gotten up the nerve to before?

He had never felt so alone.

How could Ladybug have done this to him?

And the craziest part was, he was telling the truth.

He would've been okay that she had chosen someone else.

Maybe not completely okay, but he knew that he would find a way to be happy for her.

No, the real betrayal was that she didn't trust him enough to tell him about her boyfriend.

Two weeks of her acting a little bit strange and Adrien wondering if he had done something wrong and the whole time she was keeping things from him.

It was hard to accept.

More than her being the love of his life, she was the most important person.

Romantic relationship or not, she was a major part of his life.

Besides parts of his life that would give away his identity, he told her everything, and he thought that she did the same.

But she didn't trust him enough.

She thought that he would be so fragile in their relationship that he might abandon her just because she was dating someone.

Boiling in Adrien's stomach was a brew of self loathing and betrayal.

But what else could he do right now but sulk?

And what was Ladybug doing right now?

Adrien decided to take out his laptop, going to the LadyBlog, run by one of his best friends, Alya. Sometimes there would be pictures of Ladybug or summaries of her epic fights with akumas.

Adrien's brows raised when he saw that there was a picture that was just uploaded a couple minutes after he had run from Ladybug.

It wouldn't hurt to look..

Adrien clicked on the image.

There, standing against the midnight blue sky, was her.

She looked agonized, hands to her mouth screaming for him, tears streaming down her apple cheeks.

Then, another photo of her slumped over, hands on her head. She looked defeated.

A lump formed in Adrien's throat.

He was so conflicted.

He wanted to comfort Ladybug, she was his love and his best friend.

But he was kind of heart broken.

He shook his head.

What was the right move here?

He smelled the strong scent of Camembert cheese, and opened his eyes to see Plagg right next to his face.

"I'm sorry, kid."

Adrien frowned, Plagg was never sentimental like that.

"I know she means a lot. There have been a lot of Chat Noirs and a lot of Ladybugs throughout the centuries. And they all have a special connection."

Adrien sat up. "Really?"

Plagg nodded. "Yeah. But you're one of the most devoted I've seen."

Adrien tilted his head. "How many Chat Noirs have you been with?"

Plagg shook his head solemnly. "Too many to count."

"I didn't know that."

"Listen, I don't know what you need to hear right now. But I know everything will be fine. It always is."

Adrien gave his kwami a grateful smile. "Thanks, Plagg."

"Yeah, no problem, kid."

Adrien couldn't sleep.

It seemed impossible.

He didn't know what to do about Ladybug, he didn't know how to talk to Nino about it, and he had absolutely no idea what to do.

He hadn't felt this alone in a while.

He opened his mouth to talk to Plagg, but when he turned to look at the small creature, Plagg was snoring soundly.

Adrien smiled, and decided not to wake up his kwami.

Plagg had done a lot for him lately, and deserved a break.

Adrien sat up in his bed, and got up.

He walked out onto his balcony, and sighed.

He leaned on the white railing, looking over the quiet streets of Paris.

Adrien checked his watch.

2:13 AM

It seemed that no one was awake right now but him, and the employees of 24 hour cafes.

Except… there was one light in a high room near the middle of town.

He squinted.

It was the Dupain Cheng bakery, and the attic light was on.

Wasn't Marinette's room in the attic?

He saw a figure in pigtails cross the window.

So she was awake.

Adrien heard some creaking, like the door was opening behind him and turned to find Plagg floating up to him.

"What are you doing up? I was trying to let you sleep."

"You aren't as stealthy as you think."

"Sorry."

"It's fine, kid. Let's just go."

Adrien frowned. "What?"

"You obviously need to go on a walk or something, and everyone knows it's better when you're Chat Noir. Let's go. I'm bored, anyways."

Adrien smiled. "Thanks. Plagg, claws out!"

A green flash surrounded the boy, and he felt his black leather suit wrap around his body, felt the power rushing through his veins.

Adrien took off, leaping, almost flying from his balcony, running with purpose.

Because Adrien didn't feel like just aimlessly pouncing around tonight.

He had a friend to visit.

Chat landed on Marinette's roof with a soft thud, taking his time to gently jump down to her balcony.

The warm light coming from her room was inviting, and he could hear her softly humming a song.

He smiled, taking a moment to watch her. She really was beautiful.

Suddenly, the sliding door in front of him whipped open, Marinette standing there, fierce and ready and armed with a pen.

"Whoa, princess," Chat laughed. "Calm down now. I don't want any ink in my veins."

Marinette sighed when she recognized him. "Oh my god, kitty you scared me."

"Sorry about that."

She smiled and opened her door for him, closing it behind them as they walked into her room.

"So you couldn't sleep either, huh?"

"Nope."

"You have something on your mind? Do you want to talk about it?"

"I don't know."

"Well, I've just been sketching. If you want to rant to me, I won't mind."

He gave her a grateful grin and walked over to her desk to take a look at some of her sketches. Adrien knew that Marinette was a skilled artist and designer, but these looks were exceptional.

They had a unique feeling to them, something strong but elegant.

Similar to their designer.

"Wow," he breathed. "These are amazing."

He turned back to see Marinette flushing pink. "Thanks."

He walked up to her, and peered at her complexion. Her eyes were kind of swollen and red, and her bottom lip was fuller than normal, like she had been biting it.

Not that he stared at her lips.

"Have you been crying?"

"What? No." Marinette shook her head and wrapped her arms around her middle. "Probably just allergies."

"Sure."

"Fine," she smiled, rolling her eyes a bit. "I had a little fight with a friend."

"Me too," Chat admitted.

Marinette stared up at him with sad eyes.

"C'mere," he murmured, and gathered her into a hug.

Marinette pressed her face into his chest and sniffled a bit.

She wrapped her arms around his stomach and squeezed like she was afraid he would disappear if she didn't.

He thought he heard her whisper a muffled, 'I'm sorry', but was probably imagining it.

She made a little whimper like noise, and Chat's heart broke for her. He stroked her hair, and started to feel tears roll down onto his suit.

"It's okay," he said softly. "It'll be okay."

She nodded into his chest.

And Chat had to admit, that it felt nice to have her in his arms.

Alright, end of chapter 7!

I was home on a mental health day today and so I was able to get some writing done and pushed this out.

It probably isn't as polished as usual, but you know, I just wanted to post something since I haven't in a while.

Anyway, if you could follow, favorite and/or review, that would be super amazing, it always makes my day.

Thanks so much for reading, and remember that you are loved.
