After Terra and Jessica had landed, Terra stood there, staring at Jessica. Finally, Terra spoke. "You better have a good reason for not listening to me. I told you to go home."
Jessica looked Terra straight in the eye. "I already told Aqua, and now I'm telling you. I'm not ready to go home yet. I have something that I need to do," She stated.
"You need to go home, now! If you don't go home, I'll take you back myself!" Terra yelled.
"I don't want to fight you... but if I have to, then I will. I may be young, but I can take care of myself. If I defeat you, then at least you'll know that. MOON PRISM POWER! MAKEUP!" Jessica shouted before she transformed into Sailor Moon. Terra summoned his keyblade. Terra swung at Jessica, but she dodged it. For the briefest moment, Terra was stunned. Jessica took advantage of this. She summoned her keyblade and let go of it. It started spinning. Then it floated above her hand while turning, and she slowly raised her hands over her head. when they were all the way up, it switched hands, and she slowly lowered her arms, grabbed the keyblade with both hands, and held it out in front of her. "Starlight Honeymoon," she started spinning. "Therapy" She raised her arms above her head. "Kiss!" Her keyblade glowed, and Terra became unconscious and fell to the ground. She quickly checked for a pulse and was relieved to find that he was still alive. She undid her transformation. She looked around and spotted an open manhole, and decided to stash Terra underground until he recovered.
She dragged his body and accidentally bumped his head on a lamp-post. Terra stirred a little. "Master, I don't want to get up yet," He muttered before he returned to his unconscious state. Once she got him to the manhole, she started trying to climb down the ladder that led to the sewer while doing her best to support Terra's weight. When she was halfway down, she fell, dropping Terra in the process. Wincing, she checked again for a pulse and found that he had somehow survived. She felt terrible for leaving him like that, but she knew that she had a job to do.
When she rose from the sewer, she saw Aqua and approached her. "Aqua!" Jessica called out.
"Jess?! What are you doing here?" Aqua asked.
Before Jessica could answer, a tall fat man that looked like a cat jumped in front of them. He was wearing what looked like a superhero costume. "Tada! Wearin' the mask of peace and hope... comes the fearless defender and hero of this town! It is me, Captain Justice!"
Aqua and Jessica tilted their heads to the side. "Huh?" They replied in unison before they started to walk away.
"Wha? Now listen, you pipsqueak. I'm Captain Justice! Who are you to walk away whenst a bona fide hero is offerin' his help?" He demanded.
Aqua turned back to him. "I'm sorry, but we really don't need any kind of hero, bona fide or-"
Suddenly a voice screamed, "Somebody, come quick!" They turned to the voice. It was a tall skinny guy who resembled a cow. He was wearing a red shirt, blue overalls, white gloves, a brown hat with a blue ribbon, and around his neck was what looked like a giant brown horseshoe. The three of them raced over to him.
"What's that? Trouble? Captain Justice to the rescue!" Captain Justice shouted.
The cowman looked at Captain Justice. "You? Well, that's a shame... Or is it? Maybe this job's perfect for you, Mr. Hero," He commented.
"What?! Name your catastrophe!" Captain Justice huffed impatiently.
"Those annoyin' monsters have turned up again over in fruitball plaza. They're all yours now, Captain J," The cow guy explained.
Jessica sighed. 'I hope the Unversed aren't where I left Terra,' She thought.
"Monsters?! Well... too bad. Not on the list," Captain Justice huffed.
"I didn't know bona fide heroes got to pick," Aqua teased. Jessica giggled.
"But I wouldn't stand a chance of survivin', er, of fittin' em into my schedule." Captain Justice said.
"Gosh, I thought you said you were Captain Justice," The cowman pointed out.
"Yeah, Captain Justice. You gotta go get those monsters. It sounds to me like you're just plain scared. So much for the fearless defender and hero of this town," Jessica added.
"Huh? Hark, do you hear that? Somebody's callin' for Captain Justice's help. Do not fear! I am on my way! Sounds like this catastrophe can't wait. But, uh, I'll be back here in a jiff!" Captain Justice exclaimed before he ran off.
"Oh, I'm sure you will, Captain Useless. But I don't think I'll stay here and hold my breath," The cowman grumbled.
"We're anything but heroes, but maybe we could help if you want," Aqua offered. Jessica nodded in agreement.
"Would you? Oh, that'd be just jim-dandy! Someone needs to trounce those fiends at fruitball and keep 'em away from the plaza," The cow guy smiled.
"We'll try," Aqua assured him.
"Give me a holler once you're ready, and I'll explain how fruitball works," The cowman said.
"We won't be long. We just need to do something first if that's okay," Aqua mentioned.
"Sure, it's fine, just don't take too long or else we'll be in trouble," The cowman replied. Aqua and Jessica nodded and walked out of hearing range.
"What are you doing here?" Aqua asked.
"I changed my mind. I told Ventus to go home on his own," Jessica answered.
"I see. Have you found any Sailor Guardians?" Aqua asked.
"Not yet, but something worries me. You are a lot older than me. In our previous life, you were the same age, and in our life before that you weren't that much older than me. I fear something will happen to you," Jessica sighed.
"Jess..." Aqua embraced Jessica in a hug. "Whatever lies beyond this morning is a little later on. Regardless of warnings, the future doesn't scare me at all. Nothings like before," Aqua reassured Jessica.
"Yeah, you're right," Jessica agreed.
They went back to the cowman. He explained to them that the rules of fruitball were to try to knock giant fruits into their opponents' goal. Jessica and Aqua gave it a try and won. The cowman walked over to them with a girl who looked like a mouse. She wore a crown and a pink frilly dress. "My, you sure taught those monsters a lesson. You're the real hero if you ask me," The cowman complimented.
"He's right, my dears. I couldn't agree more. Thank you so much," The girl added.
"Who are you?" Aqua wondered.
"I'm Minnie," The girl introduced.
"And she's our Queen," The cowman brought up.
"Oh, please excuse us, your Majesty," Aqua said before she and Jessica kneeled. "Where are our manners? My name is Aqua, and this is Jessica."
"There's no need to be so formal. Just call me Minnie," Minnie smiled. Aqua and Jessica got up. "You see, I'm not sure I'm doing a very good job protecting my kingdom."
"Oh, don't say that, Queen Minnie. We all know how hard it's been since the King set off the way he did. Don't you trouble yourself. Why we wouldn't even think of putting on our yearly dream festival if we thought there was the slightest chance anything could go wrong, " The cowman assured her.
"Oh, you're very kind, Horrace," Minnie beamed.
"How 'bout that Pete, though? Captain Justice my hide! You can't count on him for anything," Horrace huffed.
"Wait... you're saying his real name is Pete?" Aqua questioned. Jessica giggled.
"Well, it sure as sugar, not Justice," Horrace mocked. This made Jessica laugh even harder.
"Jessica, it's not nice to laugh at someone." Aqua scolded, but even she couldn't keep down a smirk. "No matter how funny they are."
"Pete never does anythin' for anybody except Pete. That get-up is just an act to get folks to vote for him. He wants to win the Million Dreams Award and hog the prize," Horrace grumbled.
"Million Dreams award? What is that?" Aqua asked.
"It's part of our dream festival. We all vote for who we think is the most admirable citizen is. But Pete seems to have the wrong idea. He thinks that dressing up as a hero and proclaiming he is one will win him votes. What really makes a hero isn't what they wear or what they say. It's the things they do and how they treat everyone," Minnie explained.
"Hey Aqua, do you think I'm a hero? Jessica wondered.
"Jessica, you're the most heroic person I've ever known," Aqua replied.
"Thanks, Aqua. I should probably be going." Jessica mentioned.
"Oh, can't you stay just a little bit longer? Just for the Million Dreams Award to be given? It's going to start as soon as I get there." Minnie pleaded.
"Aw, why not." Jessica sighed. They went over to the stage where the Million Dreams Award would be given.
"Who do you think's gonna win this year's Million Dreams Award?" Horrace questioned.
"Boy oh boy! I hope it's the guy I voted for!" A talking chipmunk exclaimed.
"I voted for him too!" A talking chipmunk next to the other shouted. "
Now that we got so much business at the shop, maybe we'll be number one!" A duck dressed in red said.
"Wow, Uncle Scrooge would sure be proud of us if we actually won!" A duck wearing blue added.
"Yeah, and I bet Uncle Donald would be pretty surprised too!" A duck clothed in green finished.
Jessica looked on the stage and realized Minnie was already there. Minnie began her speech. "Hello everyone, and thank you for waiting. Now it's time to begin the main event of our Dream Festival, the Million Dreams Award presentation. Oh, how very exciting! This year we have multiple winners. The Million Dreams Award goes to... Ventus, Aqua, Terra, and Jessica. All four of you." Everyone cheered.
'I guess Terra was here before we were sucked up into that giant spaceship. Maybe I shouldn't have knocked him out. Then again, he was almost asking for it.' Jessica thought.
Aqua smiled. "You mean Ven and Terra were here?!" She asked excitedly.
'If Aqua finds out, I am going to die!' Jessica thought worriedly.
Captain Justice A.K.A Pete ran past Aqua and Jessica and went on the stage. "Whadda ya mean?!" Pete demanded, jumping on the stage. "There's gotta be a mistake. Everybody voted for Captain Justice. I made sure! Now, go on, tell her!" Everyone was silent. Pete muttered something under his breath that Jessica couldn't hear, and then he ran into the backstage area and came out dressed in a purple and black superhero suit. "The rogue racer, Captain Dark!"
"Pete, we counted the votes very carefully. Ventus, Aqua, Terra, and Jessica won. Oh, Pete, I think you tried to do something good, but you were doing it for the wrong reasons, and you went about it the wrong way. Still, a couple of citizens must have thought you have goodness in you, because you actually got a few votes. They knew you were looking out for them," Minnie said softly.
"Big whoop. I don't need their lousy votes. Just cough up my prize!" Pete huffed.
"Pete! they voted for you because they believed in you and care about you. How could you look down on that? I've tried to forgive a lot of the things you've done, but this is too much. Now you've finally crossed the line," Minnie snapped.
"Like that matters to me. Besides, what are you gonna do about it?" Pete smirked.
"Ha! I'm gonna let you cool off for a while. Guards!" Minnie yelled. Walking brooms surrounded Pete and picked him up.
"Hey! Let me go! Put me down! You can't! No, hey, easy!" Pete cried out as the brooms took him away.
Queen Minnie was quick to recover and returned to being a loving queen. "Now, shall we continue the ceremony? Would the four winners, Ventus, Aqua, Terra, and Jessica, please come up and join me on the stage?" Aqua and Jessica walked on the stage. "Oh dear, it looks like our other two winners couldn't make it here to be with us today."
"I must have just missed them," Aqua sighed sadly.
"Perhaps the two of you would accept the award on their behalf. After all, you've been so kind to so many here at the Dream Festival. So now, I hereby present the Million Dreams Award... as a token of how much you matter to us. Congratulations!"
"Thank you, everyone," Aqua thanked.
"Yeah, thank you," Jessica added. The crowd cheered.
"And as an extra treat, we've created something special, two ice cream flavors just for you. Aqua, yours is Royal Berry Ice Cream." Minnie handed Aqua a pink ice cream cone that slightly resembled the top of Minnie's head. "And Jessica, we decided you can name your flavor. Something special we're doing just for you." Minnie handed Jessica an ice cream cone. The ice cream was blue, red, green, and orange, with two half oval cookies that looked like rabbit ears.
"This flavor is called... Eternal Friendship!" Jessica announced.
Jessica and Aqua took a bite out of their ice cream. "What do you think?" Minnie asked.
"Mine is delicious!" Aqua replied.
"It's really great!" Jessica agreed.
After the Dream festival was over, Aqua left. Jessica went back to the manhole to check on Terra. She hoped that no Unversed were around. When she got down there, she didn't see his body. Suddenly, she felt pain at the back of her head and blacked out.
The sweet taste of revenge. Mwahahahaha. So, does anyone have any ideas on who got her unconscious and what will happen to Jessica? Tell you what, if you answer the question correctly, you get to choose the next song that someone will sing. It might not be in the next chapter, but I will try to fit it in as soon as possible, but only if you can guess who did it and what will happen.
I wanted to thank the guest for your help, and I did take your thoughts on Maleficent into consideration. I don't think I would make her the good guy exactly, but I might use her reason for hating Aurora's father, whose name I currently can't remember.
Also, thank you, The Lone Cheesecake, for your review.
I really appreciate reviews, even if they criticize my work. If you like or don't like something, please tell me. What did you think of the Simple and clean reference? This chapter is definitely my favorite so far.
