When Jessica woke up, she was in her room in The Land of Departure. She realized that Terra knocked her out and brought her. Though she didn't want to be back at The Land of Departure, she was relieved that it had been Terra that had knocked her out and not an Unversed. She went off the bed and realized that her back was lighter than usual. That was when she noticed that her backpack was gone. She looked around the room and spotted it in the corner, and sighed with relief. She opened it up. "Luna, are you in there?"
"Yes. You should probably go see Master Eraqus. When Terra brought you here, he sounded distraught," Luna suggested. Jessica nodded and went to find Master Eraqus. She found him outside, sitting on the stair steps.
"M-master," She greeted. He turned to look at her and motioned for her to sit next to him. Slightly confused, she did just that. She braced herself for the severe scolding, the hatred in his eyes, and possibly even the keyblade at her throat. She closed her eyes in fear of seeing what might happen next. Nothing.
"Are you alright, Jessica?" Master Eraqus asked after what felt like a small eternity to Jessica.
"I-" She started, but she was unsure how to answer that question. She was physically doing fine, but emotionally she felt horrible. She was worried about her friends. "Where's Terra? Did I miss him?" She wondered, trying to change the subject.
"He has already left. You must have gone through quite the ordeal. Please tell me what is bothering you," Master Eraqus pleaded.
Jessica sighed. "Alright. Why wouldn't you or Terra trust me? Aqua and Ventus trust me. I'm capable of taking care of myself. When I was out there, I was fine. I was saving people. I was helping people from other worlds. In here, I'm nothing. I can't do anything. All I do is train. I want to be more than just a spare. I want to help."
Master Eraqus stood up. "Jessica, come with me. I want to show you something." Master Eraqus put on his armor, got on his glider, and took off. Jessica did the same and followed him. Soon they were in another world. There was a river and a canoe. "I remember taking Aqua here when she was younger. She loved it here. I made that canoe, and she would use it all the time. Jessica, look at the river. See how it's steady? Life is like that. Like that river, I want you to be steady, but I also want you to follow your heart. If it's telling you to go against the steady flow of life, then that is a choice you will have to make. Jessica, as much as I want you to stay with me and be steady if your heart tells you to go against the smooth flow, I want you to decide. I will give you a choice. Either stay with me or go out to other worlds. I'll be over by that tree if you need me." And with that, Master Eraqus went over to a tree and sat by it.
"He wants me to be steady." Some animals splashed in the water. "But it isn't steady at all." Jessica started to sing.
"What I love most about rivers is you can't step in the same river twice"
Jessica got into the canoe and started paddling.
"The water's always changing, always flowing
But people I guess can't live like that we all must pay a price
To be safe, we lose our chance of ever knowing
What's around the river bend
Waiting just around the river bend
I look once more
Just around the river bend
Beyond the shore
Where the gulls fly free
Don't know what for
What I dream the day might send
Just around the river bend
For me
Coming for me
I feel it there beyond those trees and right behind these waterfalls
And I ignore the fact that I am little
To be put back inside my cage and to see the same old walls
And never dream that something might be coming
Just around the river bend"
She saw a waterfall and decided to try going down it.
"Just around the river bend
I look once more"
She somehow managed to keep her balance as she went down the waterfall, and landed in the water safely.
"Just around the river bend
Beyond the shore"
Some rapids were up ahead, and she took them on with almost no problem.
"Somewhere past the sea
Don't know what for
Why do all my dreams extend
Just around the river bend
Just around the river bend"
Suddenly, she came across a split in the river. One side was smooth, and the other was wild.
"Should I choose the smoothest course
Steady as a beating drum
Should I go home with Master Eraquas
Is all my dreaming at an end
Or do you still wait for me, dream giver
Just around the river bend"
She paddled onto the wild part of the river.
FanFictionWriter123: I'm glad you liked the last chapter. Terra was trying to protect Jessica, so he knocked her out. Kind of ironic, but that's why he did it.
The guest that reviewed: You guessed it. Congratulations! (Confetti falls from the sky.)
Thank you, Gallantmon of the Hazzard, for favoriting and following.
I meant to tell you this in the last chapter. You might already know, but the first few episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal are on Crunchyroll. If you don't know what Sailor Moon Crystal is, it's a new version of Sailor Moon. The storyline is almost exactly like the manga. Essentially, it's the manga in anime form. If you don't know what Crunchyroll is, it's a website where you can watch anime. The episodes come out every other week, if I can recall correctly. If you haven't already, you should check it out.
