Jeff got into the driver seat of a van, with Eli in the passenger seat. Maki and Umi were in the last two vans, each in charge of overseeing and taking care of the lawmakers in their respective vehicles.

After starting the van, Jeff stepped on the accelerator and left the place to follow the first few vans in front, with the rest of them that were behind tagging along. He planned to bring the lawmakers to his basement and gather them altogether before sending them home.

"I think we did a good job today." He told Eli.

"I think so too." Eli grinned at him, "I really feel so proud of myself, and for us. We managed to save so many people today. It was like…we managed to accomplish what we really wanted to accomplish. I've never felt happier. Thank you for all of this, Jeff."

"You know, all of these wouldn't be possible if you, Maki, and Umi weren't here to help me." Jeff said, "Because of you girls, I was able to carry out my plan of taking down the crime syndicate and fulfilling Mr Brocker's wish. Without y'all, I wouldn't have been able to do everything by myself. So, once this whole thing is done, I'll treat you girls to a feast. Take it as a thank-you from me."

"Aww, being sweet now, aren't you?" Eli teased him, "I've never seen this side of you before. You're mostly serious and emotionless. I didn't know you had an amiable side. Shame you don't have a girlfriend."

"I know, right?" Jeff smirked, "It's really wasted. Too bad I've dedicated myself to bringing the crime syndicate down. Maybe after this, I'll get myself a woman. Perhaps by then you can teach me how a woman thinks."

"It's not that easy, Mr Connor." Both of them then laughed before they heard some crashing and explosion sounds. They turned their heads towards the front and saw that two vans had been destroyed, with one of them on fire.

"No way." Eli opened her mouth in shock, "The lawmakers in those vans…They're dead, just like that…" Jeff looked up through the windscreen and saw a figure on top of the third van. That person, who was holding a pistol on one hand and a katana on the other, shot the driver dead before stabbing the front tire on the right and jumping onto the top of the van behind. The third van swerved to the left and overturned as it burst into flames. Jeff instantly recognized the assailant.

"All drivers, stop your vans right now!" He screamed through the walkie-talkie, "I repeat, stop all your vans right now! Hit the emergency break this instant!"

"What's going on, Jeff?" Eli asked, "Do you know who's attacking us?"

"Venus is here." He replied, "She's trying to kill the lawmakers and sabotage us. We gotta stop her. You girls go and fight her, while I'll be the backup…" Before he could finish his sentence, a few Cadillac Escalades stopped just a few meters away in front of the remaining vans. Masked men came out of the Escalades and aimed their guns at the vans.

"You're fucking kidding me." Maki cursed, "For fuck's sake. Where the hell on Earth do these men come from? Does the crime syndicate have a factory where they manufacture workers?!"

"Doesn't matter." Jeff said, "Change of plan. You girls will now fight the masked men. I'll still be your backup."

"What about Venus?" Umi questioned, "We can't just leave her alone."

"Just try to distract her first. It'll take me some time to prepare my rifle. Once I'm ready, I'll assist you in defeating Venus and the thugs."

"Isn't your rifle in your truck?" Eli asked, "You parked your truck a few meters away from the lawmakers' office building, didn't you?"

"Which is why I said I need some time." He replied, "I will be quick, I assure you. Just try and hold them back."

Maki sighed, "Are you…"

"Alright, but please come as fast as you can." Eli interrupted her teammate before getting off the van. She hid behind another as Jeff drove his van away. A few seconds later, Maki and Umi ran to her and hid behind other vans too.

Venus scanned her surroundings in an effort to locate the trio. She was given an order by Regis to eliminate them as well as Jeff. Thus, she destroyed the first three vans to catch their attention so that they could come out and fight her. However, that did not work as intended as she still couldn't see them from above. Despite that, she wasn't ready to give up. She commanded her men to search for the girls and kill them.

The masked men rushed up to the vans, with a pistol in each of their hands. When one of them went past a van, Maki attacked him from behind, strangling him with her right arm. She then stomped on his right hamstring, and in response, he cried out in agony. In his weakened state, she kicked his left leg to the side, forcing him to do a split and causing him to be in even more pain. To end things off, she snatched the gun off his hand and shot him in the back.

Another man, clutching the pistol as tight as he could, moved forward as he pointed the weapon towards his front. As he walked on, Umi appeared from behind one of the vehicles. He tried to shoot her, but she managed to push the pistol to her right and grab the slide of the handgun, preventing him from shooting. She proceeded to punch him on the face a few times and seized hold of his gun.

She quickly fixed it before the man could even recover, and then shot him on both legs and hands. To make sure he did not move, she kicked his nose. He let out a groan as his nose started bleeding. She looked at him and was satisfied with what she had done. Sometimes, she felt lucky that she was trained by the police.

Meanwhile, Eli was fighting a masked man one-on-one. The latter pulled out his pistol and aimed it at her. Just as he was about to shoot, she booted his wrist with force, making him drop his own gun. She elbowed him on the face, kneed him in the chest, and did a roundhouse kick on his groin. He flew pretty far backwards and hit his back on a van.

That caught the interest of Venus, who finally spotted Eli. Just before she could jump down and deal with Eli, she heard rifle shots. She looked around her and saw her men slowly dropping onto the floor, one by one. She turned her head towards the source, and saw Jeff reloading his rifle before pulling the trigger. Upon noticing her, he pointed a middle finger at her. She growled and ran towards Jeff.

Eli shot down a few more men before leaning against a van, waiting for more of them to come as she took a short breather. She reloaded her pistol and pointed it downwards as she took a deep breath. Once she heard footsteps approaching her, she got out of her hiding spot and started shooting.

Maki headbutted a masked man on the stomach, who toppled onto another one trying to get to her, before running away. The men got up and chased after her, but somehow lost her in the midst of it. They slowly crept around other vans while looking out for her. As one of them was walking by a van, he heard some noise coming from the back. He tiptoed to the back and was about to open the door when it swung right open, smacking him straight on the face. He stumbled backwards, grabbing his nose and dropping his gun as he groaned in pain.

Maki jumped out of the vehicle and kicked him on the ear, deafening him temporarily and giving him a concussion. She then picked up the pistol and shot him in the arms and legs. Before the second man could even react, she pulled the trigger and shot him on the chest. She quickly went to the second man, took the magazine from his pistol, and took out the one in the gun she's holding before inserting the new one into it and reloaded it.

Umi was shooting left and right at men. She made sure to put at least two bullets through each of them before moving onto the next. The moment she ran out of bullets, she hid behind the back of a van and took out a magazine from her pocket. She slotted it into the pistol and reloaded it before shooting again. She repeated the process a few times to clear the area around her.

"This is like a mini machine-gun." She thought as she grinned at her weapon, "It's pretty fun."

Back at Eli's side of things, she shot one man down on the kneecaps and shoulders. Another man tried to strike, but she grabbed his arm with both of her hands, turned the opposite side, and pulled her hands forward, flipping him. He was up in the air for a second before he hit his back on the ground with a loud thud. She swiftly put a bullet in his chest, making him unconscious. She was feeling a little exhausted after all these fighting, and she was sure it wouldn't end just yet. She sighed and stretched her arms and legs.

When she looked up to check if there were any more men left, she was shocked to see Venus stabbing Jeff in the stomach with her katana. He was struggling to pull the blade away, but it seemed like he didn't have much energy left. Venus then pushed the blade up to the chest before pulling it out forcefully. Jeff fell onto the floor like a ragdoll as blood spilled out from his body profusely.

As Venus was about to thrust her katana into his head, Eli shot Venus's shoulder thrice. Venus turned her head towards Eli and glared at her. Before any one of them could do anything, police sirens were heard faintly. The sword-wielding assailant smiled at the blonde woman and waved goodbye before sprinting away. Eli tried to shoot Venus, but the latter was too fast.

Eli dropped her pistol and quickly ran to Jeff. By the time she got to him, there was a big pool of blood around him. She wanted to save him. She needed to. She didn't care if his blood had stained her hands or her pants. She tried to carry him with all her might, but he was too heavy.

"Don't…bother…" He muttered.

"Save your breath, Jeff." Eli told him, "I'm going to save you by any means. Hold on to my hand, alright?"

"The police…they're…here…"

"I don't care about them." She retorted, "I'll shoot them dead if they try to kill us."

"Eli…"

"I said, save your breath. Don't exert too much energy. I'll get Grace to come here and heal you up in an instant."

"It's…impossible…" Jeff was huffing and puffing, "Lost…too much…blood…Go on…without…me…" Umi and Maki were searching for Eli so that they could all escape together. When they spotted her kneeling down in front of a wounded Jeff, they were stupefied.

"Shut the fuck up, Connor!" Eli screamed at him with tears in her eyes, "I told you I'm going to save you no matter what! I'm definitely not leaving you here alone! If I'm going, then I want you, Maki, and Umi to stay by my side! You better hang in there, you hear me?"

"I'm…glad…you girls…joined me…" Jeff let out a weak smile, "Thank you…"

"Save it for later, please." Eli sobbed, "I can't bear to see you die." Maki and Umi went to her, squatted down, and patted her shoulders.

"Thank you for giving us this opportunity to give back to society, Jeff." Maki said.

"I thank you too, from the bottom of my heart." Umi added, "I was able to feel a sense of justice because of you."

"Then…honor me…" Jeff coughed out blood, "Carry on…my…legacy…Finish…the…mission…"

"But…" Eli was on the verge of crying.

"Then…I can…rest…well…" He continued. Eli really wished that she could save him, but she knew that if she didn't leave now with the two other girls, they would be arrested, and that meant they wouldn't be able to fulfil Jeff's last wish. Left with no choice, Eli stood up and told Maki and Umi to start up his truck.

"Goodbye, Jeff."

Before she got into the truck, she took one last look at Jeff, who slowly closed his eyes and stopped breathing. Maki decided to be the driver instead to let Eli grieve over Jeff, and Eli agreed to it. As the truck was driven away from the scene, Eli cried silently in the backseat.
