Job Thirty Nine: The Dragon vs The Grim Reaper

"What you have just touched is death itself." Gajeel could care less what his enemy called himself until he saw Bloodman's body transform into that same black mist which brought down many guild members from before. Bloodman "phased" to the side out of Gajeel's attack and his body returned to normal. Bloodman immediately grabbed the iron dragon slayer by the throat tightly. "There will be no reprieve and no escape!"

Gajeel struggled a little, but he wasn't helpless. "You think so?" He grabbed Bloodman by the neck tightly and the Grim Reaper seemed surprised by this. Gajeel turned his skin to his traditional iron dragon scales. "Which means this must be my lucky day!" Gajeel slammed his iron head against Bloodman's which caused him to release his grip on Gajeel. He undid his scales and gave his enemy an intimidating look. "Because I was getting pretty sick of looking for a place to die." Levy saw the confrontation between the two heard what Gajeel said. She couldn't help but feel a slight pain in her word when she heard those words.

Over to Irene's squadron, she continued to look over the battlefield. "Juliet, Heine. You two shall proceed to the front lines as well."

Heine nodded at her superior without a second thought. "Understood."

Meanwhile, Juliet didn't quite fully understand Irene's order. "Eh? Why do we have to go? They've got Bloodman and Larcade, don't they? Sending us would be overkill."

Heine scowled at her teammate. "Show some respect, will you! We may not be under the direct supervision of Lord Bloodman and Lord Larcade, but they're our superiors, you imbecile!"

Irene had a very good reason as to why she was ordering her two subordinates to join the battle. "The third guests will make their appearance before long."

Heine raised an eyebrow. "The third guests?"

"Indeed," Irene replied. "The Pegasi and the Tigers, they were our first guests. The second was the Fairies, and the third guests how are about to make their appearance may prove to be a tad troublesome."

As Irene predicted, a heavy mechanical foot dug into the ground and belonged to a familiar winged building with a cannon on top. "we've got a visual on them! The Moving Temple, Olympia, has now arrived!" Sorano was more than excited to join the fight, but something didn't seem quite look right to her. "Huh? I had heard this was a snowy mountain?"

The other four around her didn't seem as concerned about the mountain's drastic change and one was hunched over being sick in moving building. "It's about time we put the power of Oración Seis on full display."

Crime Sorcière guild member: "Midnight" Macbeth

"Although now, we're known as Crime Sorcière, oh yeah!"

Crime Sorcière guild member: "Hot-Eye" Richard

"If you knew this was snow mountain, then why did you come still wearing that skimpy bikini?"

Crime Sorcière guild member: "Racer" Sawyer

"Who gives a shit?! Just let me out of this thing already!"

Crime Sorcière guild member: "Cobra" Erik

On the battlefield, a strange feeling went through Yukino and froze momentarily. Minerva saw this and was a little worried about the other girl. "What's the matter, Yukino?"

Yukino shook the feeling off and looked at Minerva. "It's…nothing. Please, do not concern yourself over me."

Irene turned around to face her two subordinates. "And the most troublesome of them all will be the fourth guest, I'd wager."

Heine was surprised to hear that while Juliet thought it was just a pain. "Someone else is coming too? Give me a break!"

"This party is neither friend nor foe." Despite that, Irene smiled at the two girls. "I suppose I'll have no choice but to take care of them personally."

If their superior was going to deal with this mysterious fourth guest, Heine and Juliet had nothing to worry about. They had full confidence in Irene's power. "I know not the identity of this fourth guest but calling them foolish would be an understatement."

"To think they'd make an enemy out of Lady Irene, the High Enchanter…" Juliet giggled at the thought.

A giant Happy was flying over the land enjoying his newfound giant size. He wasn't the only one taking a liking to their new size. "Man, being huge really is a blast!" Sitting on top of Happy's back was Lucy, Brandish, Mest, Akame, and Natsu whose head was much larger than usual due to Brandish granting his wish. And Natsu was loving every second of it. "Being huge rules!"

The only one not enjoying Natsu's new head size was Lucy which, naturally, was freaking her out. She turned to Brandish who was enjoying the feeling of Happy's soft fur while pointing at Natsu. "Turn him back already!"

Brandish turned her attention to Lucy and saw no problem of what she did to the fire dragon slayer. "What's the harm? He wanted to be made bigger so badly, I figured to indulge him. I'd say he's rather enjoying himself, though."

"But only enlarging his head is giving me the creeps!" Brandish said nothing as she laid her head in Happy's fur and smiled at the blonde. The next thing Lucy knew, her breasts shrank to the point where she was flat, and in the next second, they grew much larger than she was used to of them being before returning to their normal size. She immediately hugged herself while covering her chest and leered at Brandish. "Would you kindly not play with other peoples' bodies at your leisure, please!"

Lucy proved to be much more fun to be around than Brandish thought. "I wonder why it is? For some reason, I just feel the strongest urge to mess with you."

Natsu laughed in agreement. "I know, right?"

Mest didn't understand why all three of them were acting so nonchalant despite who they were going to meet. "Give it a rest, will you? We didn't come here to play." He couldn't help but sigh before turning his attention to Akame. "Can you believe them, Akame?" Mest then noticed something strange about Akame. He saw that Akame's eyes were widened with fear for some reason as if something terrified her. For someone like Akame to make an expression like that worried Mest. "Hey, is everything alrigh-" He gasped in surprise as did everyone else.

They all shared the same reaction of what they were feeling; incredible and powerful magic. "Wha-What is this?!"

"This magic power…"

"There's no mistaking it."

"You…You've got to be kidding me. I knew he was strong, but…to this extent?!"

Upon approaching, all of them saw a single person standing in the desolate grassy field. Brandish had no doubt who it was. "August, the Wizard King."

Natsu's head suddenly became normal and smiled at the strongest Spriggan Twelve member. "I'm getting fired up!"

Lucy wasn't as excited and had to warn Natsu yet again. "Natsu, don't forget we came. Negotiations."

Mest felt a strong sense of fear coursing through his body and they weren't even close to August yet. "This guy is bad news to the max!"

Irene was far from the battlefield as she stood in the middle of a field. She tapped the ground with her staff and a bright, scarlet circle of light appeared around her. "Before the arrival of our fourth guest, I'll have to be sure to make thorough preparations." The circle became much larger and continued to spread all around and enveloped the ground in that same scarlet glow. Countless petals began to float all around in the air. "His majesty's little war game will have to be put to an end here as well. Not that it matters, really. Even if we had continued to battle normally, our side would have still emerged victorious. Although it may be more accurate to say that the game board has been broken, I suppose due to someone who is above the rules making an appearance. Acnologia, the Black-Winged One. Upon this land in which the White Angel reigned supreme, a black dragon now descends. It's as if the malice of the Black Angel has been made manifest." Irene smirked deviously as if she had already won. "But the one who will be laughing when all is said is done is I, the Scarlet Angel." As she said the title, Irene remembered something that slightly bothered her. "Ah, as I recall, society had taken to referring to me as the Scarlett Despair, hadn't they? Couldn't they have thought of something a tad cuter?"

Gajeel's fight against Bloodman was just starting as their fists collided with one another. However, Bloodman was confident in powers that this fight would end soon. "My Bane Particles spells doom for any wizard who inhales them! Soon, you'll feel the sensation of your organs liquefying!"

Gajeel really wasn't worried about that kind of thing happening to him. "Yeah, I don't think so because my lungs are made of iron!"

Bloodman gladly welcomed that fact and excited him further. "Excellent news!" He extended his arm by stretching it out via that black mist, but Gajeel managed to jump out of the way in time. "it's been too long since I've faced a truly challenging opponent!"

Gajeel flipped his body around and kicked with his left leg and transformed into iron to extend it. "Iron Dragon's Spear!" His attack managed to reach Bloodman, but it went through him instead with no sign of damage. The iron dragon slayer was surprised his attack didn't do anything to him.

To make it worse, that black mist appeared and surrounded Bloodman. "My body is made of Bane Particles, so touching me will seal your doom!" The mist became thicker and countless skulls appeared all around. Gajeel then found himself surrounded by Bloodman's Bane Particles and large piles of skulls surrounding him. "I AM A GOD OF DEATH, DRAGGING ALL I FACE TO THE UNDERWORLD!" Gajeel screamed in pain as he felt the full force of Bloodman's attack and sent him higher into the air. The other guild members nearby were also suffering from Bloodman's attack as they were all chocking from inhaling his Bane Particles. "Perhaps you can survive this, but what about those without your gifts?"

Gajeel hated to admit it, but his enemy was right. If they stuck around for too long, they would surely die. "Everyone, getaway, right now! Don't come near him!" He urgently warned them before crashing to the ground littered with skulls.

As things are now, Bloodman had the full terrain advantage over Gajeel. "My Legion of the dead will consume your soul!"

Gajeel struggled to endure while he was being complexly covered by the skulls. "You damn…piles of bones!"

"Solid Script: Shine!"

Levy suddenly appeared before Gajeel with the word Shine in front and its light eradicated the skulls surrounding them. This caught Bloodman off guard and didn't expect his magic to be extinguished this easily. "Some type of light, holy magic?!"

The light faded away and Gajeel didn't expect Levy to join in the fight. "What the…

"I'm not going to leave you!"

"Levy!" Gajeel shouted at his guildmate. "You gotta go! You've gotta get far away from here!"

Levy turned around and Gajeel saw she was wearing a Solid Script Mask. Gajeel thought it was actually smart. "Oh, good thinking."

Levy narrowed her eyes at the iron dragon slayer. "I don't want to hear you say things like you're looking for a place to die!"

Gajeel didn't think she'd take what he said that seriously. "But that was just fight talk. I was trying to sound cool and intimidating." He saw the look Levy was giving him. "What's that look?! I didn't mean it!"

Whether he didn't mean it or not, what Gajeel said before bothered Levy greatly. "This is serious. Your life is important to me. You can't die, so watch what you say." Gajeel didn't know how to respond to what Levy said to him.

Meanwhile, not too far from them, Bloodman's hood was removed and revealed his demonic-looking face. "Those who oppose me cannot escape death. I'll drag your souls through the gates of hell, for I am Death and this promise of life you cling to will be broken without any mercy!"

At the west of Fiore where Zeref's massive army was, Zeref himself was kneeling on the ground with his hand placed on it. Something about it troubled him greatly and Invel could see it. "I something the matter, your majesty?"

Zeref finally figured out what was going on and realized what was happening. "The quality of the magic flowing the land has changed? Irene, just what are you planning on doing?"

Natsu and his group finally landed and was face-to-face with one of the strongest of the Spriggan Twelve. The tension between the group and August was undeniable. "What exactly are you playing at, Brandish?"

"I've come to negotiate with you." Brandish replied.

Since they were here, August assumed they must've done away with Jacob. "Has Jacob been killed?"

"He was defeated at the hands of these three," Brandished gestured to Natsu, Lucy, and Akame. "He isn't dead. He's been taken prisoner." Speaking of missing members, Brandish noticed God Serena wasn't with August. "What of God Serena? He should've been with you."

August placed his left hand over where his heart is. "He's here with me in spirit."

Even though Brandish and August were both members of the Spriggan Twelve, Lucy and the others could sense a monumental difference between their magic power. "Brandish's magic power is absurdly high, but August's…"

Natsu had to agree with his friend. "Yeah, it's a bit more…"

Mest thought they were even taking this seriously. "Have Natsu and Lucy's sense gone dull or something!? This guy is in a completely different dimension!"

Akame couldn't help but stare at August. Just being in his presence was enough to put her on edge. Jacob, Ajeel, not even Brandish came remotely close to how powerful she sensed August was. His magic power was only the tip of the iceberg to her. "It's not just his magic that's unbelievably strong. His aura is on a completely different scale. I could sense it well before we even saw him. Before we all sense his magic power. It's even larger than the Capital itself and beyond that. I don't doubt that not only he could crush the Empire, but the Revolutionary army as well altogether. This man is…a force beyond anything I've come across before."

August questioned what Brandish's intent was with him. "Now then, do you mind clarifying exactly what you meant by 'negotiate'?"

"I would like you to halt your advance." Brandish answered.

August carefully examined Brandish for her to suggest such a thing to him. "From what I can gather, it doesn't appear you've been tortured. Am I to interpret this as betrayal?"

"That couldn't be further from the truth." Brandish replied. "I am and will always be a loyal citizen of Alverez though and through. It's just…I cannot find any meaning in this war."

August's face darkened when he heard Brandish's words. "Those very words are in direct betrayal of his majesty's words. Need I remind you, we Spriggan Twelve have dedicated our minds, bodies, and souls to his majesty. If in spite of that, you still cannot comprehend why you must fight for his cause, then you are nothing more than an enemy who must be eliminated."

Back at Northern Fiore, the fight against Alverez raged on with the members of Fairy Tail, Sabertooth, and Blue Pegasus fighting the army off. In one part of the battlefield, Gajeel's fight against Bloodman continued with Levy joining the fight. While Gajeel was still uncertain of Levy fighting alongside him. Especially if they're up against an opponent who can wield Bane Particles. "Hey, that mask you made for yourself, you positive it's going to work?"

Levy glanced over at the iron dragon slayer with an absolutely certain look. "It's Solid Script magic, so of course I'm positive."

Since another opponent appeared before him, Bloodman decided to push this fight further. He raised his hand with his index finger held up. "When the first seal is broken, Bane Particles drain your magic power." He held his middle finger up next. "The second opens a gate to the underworld beneath this field of corpses." Bloodman held up three fingers next."Upon breaking the third seal…" His body began to change and became enveloped in Bane Particles. "The God of Death renders judgment upon you." His entire body darkened with a ghastly bright purple glow from his eyes and mouth and didn't appear human any longer. "And when that happens, you are condemned down to the land of the dead!"

Despite his drastic transformation, Gajeel smiled as he wasn't the least bit intimated by his enemy. "I get that you're trying to be scary, but your magic power is a joke. You got nothing on the rest of the Twelve, do you?"

Bloodman widened his eyes and stared menacingly at Gajeel and Levy. "That's because I wield the power of curses!"

Gajeel gasped in shock at what Bloodman announced and Levy shared his reaction. "So, does that mean what I think it does?"

Bloodman held his right arm in front with his palm open. "I control what rises from the depths of Tartaros; CURSE POWER!" He unleashed a massive dark purple swirling explosion onto Gajeel and Levy and blew up away. "EXPLOSION SPIRAL!" Bloodman drew back his left arm next. "TENGA GOKEN!" Bloodman threw his arm in front and a powerful cross slash appeared that struck Gajeel and cut down the trees surrounding him. "ONIMARU!" Gajeel defended against the attack by turning his arm into iron. Bloodman roared as he threw both his arms up and black water suddenly surged from underneath the ground. "UNLEASH…" The massive wave flooded the entire area and swept up Gajeel and Levy. "DARK DELUGE!"

It was as Gajeel suspected and couldn't believe it if he hadn't seen it for himself. "Are you kidding me!"

Levy was submerged into the water and it brought back some bad memories for both her and Gajeel. "This again?!"

Gajeel couldn't believe the kind of power his enemy possessed. "Aw, man, can he use all of Tartaros' curses?!"

Thankfully, they had experience in dealing with Torafuzar's curse from before. "Maybe..." Levy wasted no time in swimming down. "But I'm not falling for the same trick twice!" Once she was close enough to the ground, she pointed two of her fingers at it. "Solid Script: Hole!" The word "hole" appeared in the ground and the water was being immediately drained through the o of the word.

They immediately escaped Bloodman's attack and Gajeel was impressed by what she did. "Nice one, Levy!" He took in a deep breath as did Bloodman. They both unleashed their attacks at once against each other. "Iron Dragon's Roar!"

"ICE DEMON'S RAGE!" Both breath attacks fiercely collided with each other and canceled each other out. Then Gajeel noticed a couple of ghostly white tendrils wrapping around his legs and Levy's. Bloodman spread his arms apart. "Behold, a curse beyond the Nine Demons!" "To the underworld, to the underworld, the dead eternally walk!" Countless skulls started to rise out from the fields with those same strange tendrils sticking out from underneath them screeching and moaning. Gajeel didn't like where this was going and, unfortunately, knew where this was headed. "THE THIRD SEAL BREAKS AS JUDGEMENT HAS RENDERED!" A bright light erupted from his forehead. "OVERSKELTOR!" Bloodman sent a torrent of skulls and Bane Particles that swept up Gajeel and Levy entirely. They both found themselves stuck in a giant vortex of skulls and Gajeel screamed in pain.

Gajeel heard Levy scream and stuck his arm out trying to reach her. "LEVY!" The iron dragon slayer struggled to endure the attack until he was close enough to Levy. He found his chance when she was close enough to him and managed to grab Levy's arm.

Against all odds, they miraculously managed to get out of Bloodman's attack which he didn't think was even possible. "My death vortex! How could they have escaped it!?"

Gajeel groaned in pain when he hit the ground while Levy coughed, not wearing her mask and coughed out blood. Gajeel propped himself up and became immediately worried about her. "Oh no! Your mask, you gotta get it back on now!"

"I'm sorry. I was bluffing." Levy pushed herself off the ground but had a defeated look on her. "The truth is…it never worked." Gajeel gasped in shock as his eyes widened. "Bane particles don't just get inhaled; they're absorbed through the skin too. I guess I never had a chance, huh?"

If what Levy said was true, then she was always exposed to the Bane Particles the entire time. "Then why the in the hell did you even come here!"

Blood trickled out from both corners of her mouth, yet Levy smiled weakly at Gajeel. "I'd hope I could…save…you." Her eyes darkened before collapsing on the ground.

"LEVY!" Gajeel stood up and listened carefully to Levy's breathing. It was weak, but that was good enough for him. He turned his attention to Bloodman. If he defeated him, then the Bane Particles surrounding them would disappear and Levy would finally be out of danger. "Okay…" Gajeel made a mad dash toward his enemy. "Hang in there, Levy! I'M GOING TO TAKE DOWN THIS UGLY BASTARD FOR GOOD!" He pulled his left arm back and threw it forward.

It transformed into an iron rod and all it did was go through Bloodman's head ineffectively. "All your struggling is for naught!" He brought up his hand and wiggled his index finger. Several blackened thorns appeared and pierced through the Gajeel's body as they pushed him back.

Levy managed to open her eyes to see Gajeel struggling to fight back against Bloodman. "Be…careful…"

Gajeel managed to fight through the thorns and reached Bloodman yet again. He threw a punch at his enemy, but it too proved to be ineffective as it just went through him. "There is nothing you can do to harm me!" He threw both arms up and sent a powerful wave of curse power at Gajeel and slammed him against a large rock.

He grunted out of anger and began to feel a familiar sense of uselessness. "Finding the right cat to be my partner, getting motion sickness like all the other Dragon Slayers, and I still haven't achieved Dragon Force…" Gajeel fell to his knees and punched the ground out of frustration. "I'm always lagging behind everybody else!" He managed to stand up, but his head was still lowered in shame. "It made me feel like such a loser. Pathetic. So many times, I wanted to walk away." Gajeel raised his head to face Bloodman once again and kicked a skull away from him. "But I've changed. None of that matter to me anymore!" He glanced over at Levy and was determined to defeat the enemy in front of him. For her sake. "The only thing I give a damn about is protecting the girl I fell for!"

Levy could only look at Gajeel's direction. She'd never felt so useless before and hated the feeling. Then she started to see the Bane Particles passing her by and headed toward Gajeel. Her eyes widened in fear as she saw Gajeel inhaling the Bane Particles that surrounded them. Even Bloodman was taken back by what his enemy was doing but thought it was futile. "That fool is consuming my Bane Particles! You can't mix them with your Ethernano! You're only speeding your demise!"

Levy became afraid of what devouring all the Bane Particles would do to Gajeel. "You don't have to do this, Gajeel! Please, stop!"

Her plea fell on deaf ears as Gajeel managed to devour all the Bane Particles. As he did, a massive surge of magic power burst forth from his body and destroyed his coat and shirt during the process. His entire body had become iron once again with, but something about it was different and that's what surprised Bloodman.

Insert Dragon Force OST

"What?! His body…he's turning himself into black iron! It's steel!"

Tears began to form as Levy saw what was happening in front of her. "NO, IT'S GOING TO KILL YOU!"

Bloodman quickly figured out how Gajeel was able to not only transform but able to still stand despite taking in his Bane Particles. "His element is iron. I think he's using the trace elements in Bane Particles so he can ingest them!" Gajeel rushed toward Bloodman and threw a strong punch at him. Only this time, the attack actually, physically struck the Grim Reaper. Gajeel then delivered a powerful kick at Bloodman and sent him away. Not only Gajeel was able to successfully eat his Bane Particles, but Bloodman also couldn't believe his enemy could physically make contact hitting him. "He shouldn't be able to touch me! He risked his life and took in my poison, just so he could hit me!?" Gajeel wasted no time in catching up to Bloodman and started to land a barrage of punches on the Grim Reaper. "No, I can't accept it!" Gajeel's next attack managed to push Bloodman back further. "What kind of human is this!"

Gajeel pulled his right arm back while yelling powerfully and it glowed a bright green. "I'm doing it." He delivered one last powerful punch at Bloodman and tore through his entire body, "I'M TAKING LEVY BACK TO THE GUILD SAFE AND SOUND!" Bloodman screamed as the last remaining parts of him vanished in the light of Gajeel's last attack.

End OST

Gajeel's form returned to normal and Levy smiled knowing that he was safe. Gajeel turned around to face her and smiled back. "You okay?" Their peaceful moment was ruined when bright purple tendrils appeared and grabbed Iron Dragon slayer's body. Both Levy and Gajeel were surprised by this Gajeel was being dragged away. "What the-?"

He was being pulled by a large sphere of purple light where Bloodman was making his final stand. "I won't die alone!" Gajeel was pulled into the sphere and was held in place by Bloodman's power. "I'm taking you with you me!"

Levy became immediately worried about what was happening to Gajeel. "Gajeel!"

Gajeel struggled to break free but couldn't somehow. "What is this?! I can't get out! It's pulling me in!"

"This is a portal, to an eternity of torment! From which there is no return!" The last of Bloodman faded from within the portal. Gajeel screamed as more of his body was absorbed.

Levy immediately tried to stand up while coughing up more blood. "Gajeel!" Despite not recovering from absorbing the Bane Particles, Levy ran desperately in hopes to save Gajeel while discarding her jacket in the process.

"GET AWAY!" Gajeel's warning made Levy stop momentarily. "Don't…come any closer. I'm practically a big lump of poison anyway. If you touch me, you'll die too."

Despite his warning, Levy resumed running toward Gajeel. "I don't care what happens to me! I'm not scared! I'm going to save you! Please, hold on!"

Gajeel couldn't believe Levy chose the worst time to be stubborn. He extended his only free hand and attached an iron bind to her wrist. Gajeel summoned another and had Levy pinned against a rock with both binds holding her against it. Levy glared at Gajeel at what he did to her. "What do you think you're doing!"

"Saving you!" Gajeel replied.

In a moment of ingenuity, Levy moved her leg through the air and the word "Sword" appeared. "That's not going to work this time! I'm not the same person anymore!" She used her Solid Script Magic to cut the rock behind her and freed herself. "I've grown!" Levy resumed running toward Gajeel without caring about the consequences. All that mattered to her was saving Gajeel. She reached her hand out but was now held back by Lily holding her from behind. Gajeel was relieved Lily came when he did as now only his upper body remained outside the portal. Levy began to panic at this point as her chance to save Gajeel dwindled with each second. "Let me go!"

Lily hugged Levy tighter so she wouldn't escape. "I won't let you get dragged in too."

Levy desperately reached her hand out to Gajeel and wanted to pull him out of the portal, but Lily prevented her from moving any further. "I can help him! If we stand around doing nothing, he's going to die!" Lily knew that all too well, but there was nothing neither he or Levy could do for Gajeel now.

Gajeel smiled sadly and closed his eyes. "Listen, I used to be…a bad guy. A total scumbag. Then I met you. You taught me to see the good in others. How to be a better man." He opened his eyes and continued to smile at Levy. "I learned…even I have the ability to truly love another person." Levy began to cry as she what was Gajeel's last words to her and Lily knew that as well. "Because of you, I started to think about life differently. Things that didn't even cross my mind before. A future. A family. Real happiness." Gajeel found the irony in words as he couldn't help but grin while tears rolled down his cheeks. "It's kinda funny. Old Blacksteel Gajeel, dreaming about life like a regular guy. I wanted us to be together forever, and losing that future is way scarier than I could have ever imagined."

Tears finally rolled down from Levy's eyes and could feel her heart breaking in two. "Gajeel…"

"So, I'm going to give my future…to you."

Levy didn't want to believe Gajeel would be gone forever. She wanted to talk to him more, bicker with him more, and spend more time with him, but none of those moments would come and that's what frightened Levy the most. "No, Gajeel! Don't go!"

"Live enough for both of us!"

Levy reached her hand to Gajeel in one last attempt to reach him, but she knew it was too late for him. "Please, don't leave me! You have to fight! I won't let you go!"

The portal shrank and only nearly Gajeel's head remained. "Lily, I need you to take Levy back to the guild. Promise me."

Lily began to cry as he looked directly at the man, he was proud to call his partner. "I promise!"

Gajeel continued to smile at them before the portal fully closed and Gajeel along with him. And just like that, the iron dragon slayer, Gajeel "Blacksteel" Redfox was gone in front of Levy's sight. Both Levy and Lily cried at the loss of the person they considered near and dear to both of their hearts. Levy screamed up at the night sky as she lost who was the most important person in her life. "GAJEEEEL, NOOOOO!"

In a far-off deserted ruins, Acnologia momentarily stopped as he sensed something that recently happened. "And now only six remain until all dragons are completely annihilated."

"Oh, so that's your true objective, isn't it?'

Acnologia looked up to see Irene floating above him. "Get out of my sight. I've got no business with you."

Irene ignored his warning and landed in front of him. "Yours is a terrifying, intense strength indeed."

Immediately, Acnologia knew this wasn't any normal human confronting him. "You intend to block my path knowing full well who I am?"

Irene chuckled at his question. "But, of course, O great Acnologia."

Acnologia narrowed his eyes at the woman standing in front of him. "I wonder…will you be able to provide me with even a moment's entertainment?"

Irene had full confidence that she'll do more than entertain him. "When it comes to men, I aim to please."

Another Alverez soldier screamed as another large needle went through his body and joined the mass amount of bodies littered across the ground. At this point, the entire group became fearful and didn't know which of them would be next. "Show yourself, you coward!"

"We're dead, we're all dead!"

"Keep it together! There's more of us then there are of them! We'll eventually get them sooner or later!"

They looked carefully to see where their ambusher was but couldn't spot them anywhere. Among them was Chelsea still in disguise and keeping her cool. She managed to get this far with no problems, but the end of this was nowhere in sight. The battle probably wouldn't end until they lost all three of their leaders. "What are you guys, idiots?!" Chelsea gasped as an explosion happened where she was, and unfortunately took out several of the soldiers. Chelsea managed to jump away to avoid the explosion, but now her cover was blown. As she landed on the ground, Chelsea saw two girls appearing in front of the group. "Irene Squad Heine and Juliet have entered the battle!"

Juliet giggled at Chelsea still in disguise. "We wondered why there were so many bodies scattered around and look what we found! How about you lose the disguise?" Chelsea growled as she undid Gaea Foundation's transformation and revealed herself to the enemy. Juliet was both impressed and not impressed at the same time. "Ooh, a what cute girl, but your magic power is laughably weak. Darn, I guess we drew the short straw. I was hoping we were facing somebody strong."

Heine turned to the rest of the group. "You idiots had a hard time dealing with someone like her?" The soldiers all looked at each other and couldn't think of an excuse to say. "Doesn't matter, leave her to us." She turned her attention to Chelsea. "We'll finish her off quickly and we'll move on."

Chelsea quickly scoffed at the situation she found herself in. From the looks of it, it seemed she was going to fight a one-on-two fight and the odds weren't in her favor. She could use one of her smoke balls and escape, but she knew they would chase her down. However, something else about them freaked her out the most. "What is it with these two? Their magic power is incredibly strong, but their aura…it's…"

"Let's get this over with," Heine stated.

Juliet giggled in agreement. "Yeah, let's!" Both girls rushed toward Chelsea at the same time. Chelsea braced herself for incoming attacks.

"I don't think so!" Lisanna appeared in front of Chelsea in her Animal Soul Cat form and struck Heine and Juliet away from the other girl.

They both screamed and didn't take too kindly of Lisanna's interruption. Heine growled at their uninvited guest. "Another one!?"

Juliet was equally peeved as her teammate. "Hello! It's rude to interrupt!"

Lisanna ignored them and looked back at Chelsea. "Are you okay, Chelsea?"

Chelsea was staring at Lisanna dumbfoundedly. She didn't expect her to come to the rescue but was glad that she did. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine. How…?"

The other girl just smiled at her. "It's when I heard that explosion. You weren't fighting with us, so I assumed it happened where you were. I was worried and Mira and Elfman noticed. They told me to help you out while they can take on the enemy on their own."

Now Chelsea was really glad Lisanna came to her rescue. "Remind me to thank them when we're out of this mess." Both girls turned to Heine and Juliet. "Be careful. These two are no pushovers."

Lisanna didn't need to be told twice and readied her claws. "Yeah, I can tell by their magic power. They're really strong."

Heine groaned as something simple turned into a huge headache for her and Juliet. Regardless, they'll deal with the situation all the same. "If you're going to fight us, then go ahead. We'll show you fools the power of Heine and Juliet of the Irene Squad."

Juliet giggled deviously in agreement. "Yeah, we'll show you just how strong we really are. And by the way, it's Juliet and Heine."
