Part 29: End of two groups

There was silence in the forest area the two groups were standing in. Occasionally they could hear the sound of gunfire and screaming, "Okay everyone put your guns down, there's much bigger things going on right now," Isaac said lowering his pistol but his men didn't.

"Well actually your one of the things we came to take care of," Tommy said.

"Where's the doctor," Dean said.

"You really want to kill him after all hes done for the WLF," Isaac said.

"We heard plenty, like how he got some of your men killed," a former scar said.

"Shut up," a WLF soldier said before Johnny pointed his sword at him with his free hand.

"Don't even think about it," he said looking serious.

"He told me what happened that day you know, how he and the doctors work came to an end," Isaac said.

"Did he tell you about how they shot my mother in front of me," Johnny said keeping his pistol aimed at Isaac.

"They had no choice, you were the only subject that would work for them and it worked because you were so young," Isaac said, "That's why we cant let the scars hurt anyone from the next generation," he said.

"Are you saying you would put your own kids through what Johnny had to," Tommy said looking annoyed.

"Sure you all probably know from experience that hes the perfect soldier," Isaac said calmly.

"I didn't want to be a soldier, I just wanted to help people," Johnny said.

"Do you not feel bad at all for killing him," Isaac said.

"Just who are you talking about," Johnny said with his finger on the pistols trigger.

"The man who gave you that power, after all you wouldn't have this far without it," Isaac said making Johnny look angry.

"No I don't, he along with the rest betrayed my parents and lied to them," Johnny said, "He never cared about making a cure all he wanted was to change people," he said.

"That's why Im going to make sure no else has to through what I had to,".

"Not even if it mean making the world better," Isaac said, "You can still do the right thing by turning yourself in," he said.

"That's not happening," Tommy said.

"It wasn't just the power," Lily said stepping forward, "Johnny helped bring all of us together and we found others,".

"He gave us a better choice," Dean said aiming his assault rifle right at Isaac.

"The WLF and scars are finished," Johnny said.

"That's to bad, guess you were a monster," Isaac said before taking out his pistol, "But in the end we never needed you alive," he said before yelling as an arrow hit him in the arm.

"Scars," a WLF soldier said as more shot at the soldiers.

"Everyone get to cover," Johnny said as Isaac took one last chance to shoot him. But he never fired because Tommy shot him in the head with his rifle before getting behind cover. They then shot down the rest of the soldiers before moving further through the forest. They then came in front of a large open area with soldiers shooting at scars on horses.

"What is that place," Tommy said looking at what looked like a small town surrounded by a large wall.

"That's the main housing area, most of the leaders lived there," the former scar leading them said when they saw an explosion go off past the wall.

"Looks like their not doing so well," Dean said when a scar was thrown over the wall.

"They must have a lot of people with the injection there," Steven said.

"Which means we will probably find the assistant there," Johnny said as he made sure his pistol had ammo.

"Alright then, lets go," Tommy said as they started running to the town. They killed some WLF and scars before they reached a large open doorway when a scar was tossed right at them. Johnny pushed into a house and saw the assistant holding up a man by the throat.

"HEY," Johnny yelled getting his attention. He looked at Johnny angrily before running away and Johny gave chase along with the others before soldiers blocked their path. Johnny looked at three of them before jumping over them and snapping their necks. Steven shot down one while Dean and Lily took down a large group.

Johnny took out his sword and cut through a scars chest when someone pushed him into one of the houses. He looked up to see a tall scar and he had his fists clenched. Johnny put his sword away and the punched the man across the face before he grabbed him by the neck.

Johnny tried to push his arms away but then the man let him go as Steven stood in the doorway holding his gun. The man had been shot in the leg and then Steven ran at him to punch him. The man stood up and yelled as he punched Steven across the face. He then grabbed him by the neck and threw him into the wall. Johnny then stabbed the man in the shoulder as he tried to push the man away from his friend.

He then yelled as he pushed the man to the ground, "Johnny move," Tommy said pushing Johnny away as the man stood up. Tommy pushed the man into the furthest wall just as the ceiling collapsed.

"TOMMY," Johnny yelled just as Steven pulled him out of the building as the rest collapsed, "No," Johnny said trying to go back in.

"Johnny you cant go in there," Steven said before grabbing his friend by shoulder, "Listen theres nothing you can do and we have to," he said before screaming in pain as an arrow hit his arm.

Johnny looked angrily at the shooter before shooting him in the head with his pistol. He then took the arrow out of Stevens arm and started wrapping bandages around the wound when Lily and Dean ran over.

"Theres a boat outside the village, the assistant making a run for it there," Dean said before shooting a soldier.

"We cant let him get away," Lily said trying to get Johnnys attention but he was looking down after bandaging Stevens wound.

"Hey," Steven said grabbing Johnnys shoulder. He had a serious look on his face, "You cant let him get away after all that's happened, so go and stop him," he said before groaning in pain.

"We got him," Lily said.

Johnny wiped his eyes before nodding and flying to one of the rooftops. He kept shooting down soldiers and scars as he ran until his rifle and pistol ran out of ammo. He then spot the assistant jumping across buildings.

"So he has the injection to," he thought before jumping across a building when an arrow grazed his leg. He groaned in pain as he landed on the roof. He saw the same scar readying an another arrow. Johnny took out his own and sent it right into his head. He then flew after the assistant and grabbed onto him.

He screamed before the two of them crashed into a house, "Why do you have to keep getting in my way," he said kicking Johnny in the chest and sent him flying back.

"You think I let you get away after everything you've done," Johnny said taking out his sword only for the man to grab the blade with one hand making him look surprised.

"You should have stayed home," he said before tossing the sword out the window. But when he turned Johnny punched him as hard as he could across the face. The assistants nose was now bleeding as he took out a knife. He then slashed at Johnny and the front of his shirt was cut.

He grabbed the knife in his hand as the man tried to push the knife into his face, "You don't deserve that power," he said before Johnny sent him flying into the wall. He then jumped and tried to kick him in the head. But the man grabbed his leg and tossed him at the wall near the window.

"I wanted to be the subject, but I knew I was to old and then he picked you," the assistant said before Johnny kicked his legs out from under him. He then tried to jump on him before the man grabbed his knife and went to stab Johnny. Johnny tried to push it away but it had managed to cut the space above his left eye. He landed on the ground just as the assistant pushed him outside the window. He landed on the ground groaning in pain.

"Such a failure," the man said landing behind Johnny who then noticed his sword in front of him, "To think of all the things we could have done for the world," he said.

"Yeah, but what about what everyone else would want," Johnny said crawling forward when the man stepped on his leg.

"That's what the power is for, goodbye Johnny Grayson," he said holding his knife in the air. Johnny yelled as loud as he could before pushing himself forward and grabbing victory. He then spun around and cut off the mans arm that was holding the knife. He screamed in pain before kneeling on the ground.

Johnny used his sword to stand back up and took a breath as he felt the blood from his wound go over his left eye. He then held the sword to the assistants neck with an angry look on his face.

"What are you waiting for, kill me," he said looking at Johnny angrily. Holding his left hand over what was left of his right arm, "You've already killed the rest,".

Johnny gripped the handle thinking of all the pain this man has caused. The bunker and the people in Seattle. But then he looked at the look on the mans face. Killing him wouldn't change what had happened. He killed the doctor and the people who betrayed him. But all that was left to him was anger and wanting only one thing when there were people who cared about him.

He put his sword down making the man look confused, "Were done here," he said calmly as he put the sword away.

"What are you doing," he said angrily.

"Your finished, your never going to hurt anyone again," Johnny said beginning to walk slowly away.

"What no, get back here, you monster," the man said before noticing his severed arm with the knife still in hand. He grabbed the knife and was about to run at Johnny when there was a gun shot.

Johnny looked surprised when he turned to see a gun wound in the assistants chest. There was another shot and then he fell back from a gun shot to the head.

"Sorry if Im late," a male voice said making Johnny look surprised. He looked to see Tommy who had a bruise on his face. He was carrying his rifle. Johnny felt tears coming out of his eyes as he tried to walk over to him.

"Don't worry I got you," Tommy said before hugging him close and Johnny hugged him back.

"I thought I lost you," he said.

"Im sorry, but Im here for you now," Tommy said smiling. They then heard the fighting stop, "Come on, let me carry you this time," he said before putting Johnnys arm around his shoulder.

Tommy walked with a slight limp which made him look worried, "Your looking worse, don't worry I only got hit by a small piece of rubble," he said.

They reached the outside of the town and found the group waiting for them. There were more scars and WLF members standing with Mike who was being helped up by Abby.

"Johnny," his team said running over to him.

"Your alive," Steven said looking worried as he held his bandaged arm.

"Good, otherwise I could not face Ellie again," Lily said.

"Who are they Mike," Tommy said looking at the WLF soldiers.

"More people surprised to find out that I was alive and were questioning the injections," Mike said.

"They never took one, so their going to help rebuild," Abby said, "So is he," she said looking at Johnny.

"Yeah hes gone," Tommy said, "Now we can head home," he said smiling at Johnny who smiled as well before feeling very tired.

"Its finally over," he said before falling to the ground. The last thing he heard before falling asleep was everyone calling out to him and Tommy saying, "Don't worry, hes just tired,".
